Chapter One: The almost normal girl known as Pan
The chirping became louder as the light became brighter and Pan's eyes slowly parted letting the light reach into her sleep and fully awaken her. She closed her eyes once again and exhaled deeply as she stretched in her cozy bed. She rolled over and dared to open her eyes again to look at her clock.
"7:00, hmmm…," she said to herself. Trying to wake herself up more than anything else. "I guess I was up a bit later then I thought. Oh well, just a little behind schedule." She stretched again draining the last bit of sleep from her body and rolled over again to face her open window as the sun poured in on her. She then got to her feet and began her normal routine, but picked up the pace a little to make up for the lost 15 minutes.
She got out of bed and began her stretches as usual. She then sprinted into the bathroom for her shower and was in out and dressed in her room in 10 minutes (AN: she puts my half hour to shame). She skipped down the stairs her bag in hand. She sat at her seat at the table as her mother set her breakfast in front of her.
"Morning Mom," she said before she inhaled the large stack of 20 pancakes and downed an entire gallon of milk.
"Morning hun, up a little late last night," asked her mother as she took the dishes from the table and put them in the already heaping pile of dishes next to the sink, probably from her dad.
"Yeah, sorry did I keep you awake at all," she asked sounding somewhat embarrassed. 'Man I really shouldn't have put that report off until this week.'
"No of course not honey, but you're a little behind today and the only reason that ever happens is if you stay up late or you took a good beating during a spar. And since it's a weekday you know better than to spar." Her mother had became concerned about her daughters education after her grandfather had left seeing as she had just skipped an entire year of school and now had to somehow manage to pass a high school entrance exam. So her mother had made her promise not to spar on the weekdays. Of course she had been upset at first, but it wasn't too bad because her mother didn't mind that she spent the ENTIRE weekend sparring.
"Hey mom, where's dad this morning," asked Pan changing the subject and getting her school supplies together.
"He went to help your uncle, he and Bra got in a fight again," her mother said sighing.
"I swear those two have a fight at least once a week. It's like Bulma and Vegeta all over again." She let a slight giggle out at the thought of her uncle being anything like Vegeta. She got her shoes on and tied her bandana to her arm. Once she had entered high school she decided she looked a little too rough for her own good when she noticed no one would process any form of communication with her besides her teachers. Even some of them were a little unsure. But now she was just another ordinary high school girl….who just happen to be part saiyan and could crush someone like a tin can if needed. She was about to step out the door. When her mother stopped her.
"Pan, don't forget your ki band," she said tossing it to her. Pan caught the white band and put it on her wrist, making it look like more of a sweat band. Bulma had created this ki bands a few years ago when Bra had gotten upset over something and unknowingly almost killed the guy she was with. It was then and there she gave a band to everybody to wear keeping their power levels to a mere 500 to make sure not too much damage was done. But she found when a saiyan went Super-Saiyajin 4 the band could take no more. But since no one but Vegeta could do that it didn't really matter.
"Thanks mom," she called out as she jumped out the door. "Love you, bye," she said as she leapt into the air and started at school. Looking at her watch she noticed it was now 7:30, and right on time. It only took her 15 minutes to get to Orange Star High School from her house. She landed right in front of the school. When she first started to come to school like that everyone would get freaked out, but after a while and a few reminders that she was 'Satans granddaughter,' they dismissed it and didn't mind anymore. She looked up at the school and sighed, this would be her last year here. It was hard to believe she was already 18 and a senior in high school. It was already April and she only had another month left to go and then she would have to find her future. She smiled as she walked into school and was immediately confronted by her two friends Vega and Piccola (AN: She's all human, just liked the name). Her only two girl friends, but they were her closest of all friends.
"Panny," said Vega running up to hug her friend of 4 years.
"Hey Vega, he Piccola, wasup," she said prying Vega off her and walking towards Piccola.
"Nutin much," said Piccola smiling slightly. "I just met this really hot guy though, man he is soo sweet."
"You say that about every guy," said Vega. Piccola just stuck her tongue out. 'Just another average day,' thought Pan.
After School
Pan was putting away her books after the bell rang and looked up to find Shinji standing above her desk. 'That's odd.'
"Hey Shinji what's up," she said smiling. She noticed he looked extremely scared or something. "Shinji are you ok," she asked concerned. She didn't know him very well but she knew something was bothering him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath and let it out. He looked a lot calmer now. He looked her strait in the eyes.
"Pan will you go to the prom with me," he asked sincerely and stared her right in the eyes looking for an answer. Searching for anything but rejection. 'Well I don't really like anyone else right now and I'm not really waiting for anyone to ask me, and he is really sweet and a bit of a cutie,' she thought to herself smiling as a hint of pink touched her cheeks.
"Sure Shinji, I'd love to," she said smiling at him looking him in the eyes.
"You…will," he asked a smile slowly creeping across his face. She nodded smiling wider.
"Wow, Pan you are not going to regret this," he said and turned and started to run off but turned right back around and gave her a huge hug. This made her face a crimson red; she had never really had a boyfriend before. It's not that she hadn't been asked, Dende knows she'd been asked. But she didn't really have any feelings for any of them. Sometimes she'd go out on a date or two, but she never developed feelings for any of them. He let her down from the hug and ran off smiling like he'd just won the lottery. 'Who knows, maybe this will be different,'
That Night
Pan walked into her room and opened her window to let in the soft breeze. It was only April and it was getting really muggy. She had told her mother and father about Shinji as soon as she got home, as well as called Vega, Piccola, Bra, and Marron and told them about it. They were all ecstatic for her except Vega who was now the only one of her friends who didn't have a date to prom yet. But Pan promised her she'd get a date if she just waited. She turned off her light and just lay in bed staring out at the moon through her window (AN: Someone probably brought it back again somehow). She just stared at it until she felt a weird feeling deep in her stomach like something was going to happen. But she felt so content that she forgot about it and curled up in a ball and fell asleep.
Pan's life is great…so far. But something is about to change her life forever….but what?
