Never Ever
It was just the way Bururma was. She became fond of ChiChi and that was that. She insisted on seeing the woman, she insisted on forgetting politics and insisted on ignoring her husband. It was just the way she was, and it was this outstanding personality that made the King love her so.
And it was just the way ChiChi was, that she would insist on Gokou letting Buruma visit. And the doors would open and Bejiita would watch, pale in anger as his wife left his side to visit the other woman. That was just the way ChiChi was.
The husbands were as different as night and day.
The wives became best friends.
But under the red sky of Bejiita-Sei, the wives locked in their gardens, supposed to be discussing anything that women would discuss, spoke of things that scared both men.
Treaty.
"Bejiita, put your damn pride behind you! It's been hundreds of years, give it up!" Buruma would screech.
*****
"Hon," ChiChi would sigh and Gokou would look up, "It's time to let things go," She would continue gently, "It's time for a treaty."
*****
And both men would stare for a few moments.
Bejiita shook his fist, "Never during my reign will that fool and his harpy wife come in these gates and try to marry their way back into our pure blood!"
*****
And Gokou would sigh, "Chi, I don't think that's a very good idea."
*****
"What did you call her?"
*****
"What did you say, Son Gokou?"
*****
"You heard me, Stupid Woman! Neither of them are coming into my court, especially for no treaty!"
*****
"I just mean..." Gokou looked down, waiting in a painful silence for what would come next.
*****
"That's it, Bejiita! Your head is way too far up your ass-"
"Don't speak to me that way, Woman, I'm the King!"
"I don't give a damn what you are, you're being stupid!"
"He will not," Bejiita could barely breathe, "Sit in my court and talk about marrying off one of his kind to mine."
*****
"Son Gokou, I don't ask you for a lot of things, but I'm insisting we go and discuss with Bejiita and Buruma terms on joining the kingdoms."
*****
"Stop being a selfish bastard, Bejiita! What about our children?"
*****
"What about Goten and Gohan? Think about them."
Gokou stared at his wife, twitching in her rage. "I... Chi..."
"Don't you daretell me that we won't, Gokou."
*****
Bejiita stared at Buruma, a furious quiet, "They will not come."
*****
When Gokou and ChiChi stood at the gates of Bejiita's palace, Bejiita's stiff neck barely moved for the gate to be pulled away and the couple entered, two men and a young woman following behind.
It was raining. Bejiita glared at Gokou, who looked up. And even though through rain and distance the best he could make out was Bejiita's brilliant crimson cape whipping around in the wind, he saw the furious obsidian eyes and matched with a look of annoyance that could've started a war on its own.
Buruma never once left her husband's side and when they finally stood before the grand couple, she smiled brilliantly. "Welcome. It's wonderful that you could meet us here to discuss this in such conditions. My husband, Bejiita," Bejiita seemed to be twitching in a corner as black as his soul seemed to be, "My son, Torankusu," She pointed to an older boy. He tilted his head in respect, but his ice blue eyes did not hide the anger that matched his father's, "And this is...." The woman frowned, the last seat was empty.
"I'm here, Mother." Her voice was quiet, like silver bells, she seemed to flow from the darkness.
Gokou stared at her. The beautiful light in the room seemed to come from this young woman.
"Bura. My daughter."
A smile on her pale pink lips, her eyes a warm blue, she smiled at the company, "It's wonderful that you all made it. I'm looking forward to having dinner with our company."
ChiChi smiled, "What a beautiful family. Gokou, my husband," She pointed to the man but his eyes had not left the mysterious girl that sat by her brother and seemed to bask in her own radiance.
He could've sworn she tilted her head to her father's direction and at once he snapped out of his daze, "Yes. It's a pleasure making it," He mumbled.
But another man was looking at Bura with the same thoughts regarding her beauty.
"My sons, Goten and Gohan, and Gohan's daughter, Pan."
"You are guests. Bejiita and Torankusu will have to be off," Buruma nodded and it seemed that as soon as she spoke the man disappeared into his own corridor, black as his soul, angry son seeping into the darkness shortly behind him, "But I can show you all around.
Gokou looked towards the young girl. A blush on her cheeks, she looked down, smiling a small bit. But it took a moment to realize that he was not the one that was making her react this way.
"Princess Bura," He heard his younger son quietly move to her side, "How are you? Forgive me for saying this, but I was shaken by your beauty. It seems..." He breathed, carefully choosing his words, "Unreal that someone could be as beautiful as you are."
She did not walk. She almost danced through the halls with such great grace. It seemed only Pan and ChiChi were listening to Buruma.
Gohan looked at his brother with disgust, but every word he would say was true.
Bura, with her long hair, jewels laced through her hair, with her azure satin dress, curving to expose her warm breasts, with her dazzling smile, and yet she was quiet when she looked to Goten.
"Thank you, Your Majesty, you're very kind." She looked to the side, "My mother is showing you your room now, I would suppose."
Goten frowned, "I wouldn't care. I don't think I can sleep at night, the image of you in my head."
Gohan had particularly had enough of his brother and his romantic antics to seduce the young princess and promptly sent a wave of energy to trip the boy. He couldn't not smirk when Bura had to put a gloved hand to her lips to hide the laughter.
The only person that saw Gohan was his father, that quite agreed with his son in that he was being too straight-forward with the princess.
But it was something else that both men knew at that time.
They had wives and children.
They were not available, and the jealousy that the only one that could have the beautiful creature Bura, that could show her what a man could do to make his wife happy, was Goten.
Gokou crossed his arms over his chest, hoping that Torankusu and Pan's engagement would be negotiated soon so they could leave, leave and he would never have to think about another woman the way he had that night ever again.

Okay. This was a bit longer and more interesting. -Sighs- I hope. Next chapter I'll explain more of the politics and what's bugging Bejii so much!
