Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ New Surprises ❯ What's with Picollo??? ( Chapter 3 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Piccolo opened his eyes slowly. Oh Kami he felt terrible! It felt like someone had stomped on his stomach, tore out his intestines and then just for the hell of it torched his kidneys with a ki blast.

Piccolo just laid there in his misery for a moment. Until it suddenly hit him…he didn't know where he was.

Last he remembered he was flying to Ubuu and Pan's house for the party. Did he make it? Where was he?

Taking a deep breath Piccolo forced his aching body to respond and sit up.

As soon as he looked around from a sitting position he knew where he was. He was at Dende's. How did he get here? Damit it he couldn't think, not with the room spinning like it was.

At that moment the door to his room opened and Goku, Bra, Mr. Popo and Dende walked in.

Mr. P: Ahhh you're awake, how delightful.

Goku: Hey Piccolo you gave us a scare.

Piccolo: How did I get here?

Goku: Uh I brought you.

Piccolo: Oh right…sorry I feel a little disoriented.

Dende: Yes I expected you would.

Piccolo: Uh?

Being as dizzy as he was he still caught the way everyone looked toward Dende. They didn't look happy.

Piccolo: What's going on?

Bra: Dende claims to know what is wrong with you. He won't tell us though.

Piccolo: Dende what's wrong? I feel like shit!

Dende: I'm amazed you don't know yourself. You are a Namek.

Piccolo growled annoyed. He knew very well he was a Namek.

Piccolo: I didn't even know I was a Namek until Vegeta and Nappa came to Earth. I was born here.

Dende made an 'oh' face. He then nodded to himself and muttered a bit. None not even Piccolo could understand what he said. He then spoke louder…

Dende: I guess that explains it.

Piccolo: WELL??

He looked up startled then smiled brightly.

Dende: Not now not now. You have to rest.

With that Dende turned heel and left, Mr. Popo followed him. All the others stared at them clearly confused.

Goku: What was up with that?

Bra shrugged her shoulders.

Bra: I just wish he would tell me. It's really annoying for a doctor to be left in the dark.

Goku: So Piccolo you feeling better?

He laid back down on the bed. Sitting up made him dizzy.

Piccolo: Better than I was.

He took deep breaths. The truth was he didn't feel better. His insides were turning against him. However Goku was having a party. He didn't want to ruin the day with his illness.

Piccolo took the moment to study the Saiy-jin he knew so well.

He hadn't been there and knew very little about what happened. But from what he had heard the battle had been a taxing experience for the Saiy-jin.

It might be strange but Piccolo could actually see what the fight did to him. It wasn't something as simple as a scar. This change was in Goku's very energy. Also Goku seemed colder than before, less open to showing his emotions.

Back in the `old' days Piccolo could easily read every thought in his empty head. Goku was a great fighter, physically and mentally but out of battle Goku was a simpleton.

However this Goku was no mentally weak being. He actually seemed sharp. You could feel the weight of his newly acquired white eyes on you. Behind those eyes one could sense his mind working. Yes he had changed a lot…Piccolo could only imagine what kinds of horror his friend had been though.

He acted like a gentle version of Vegeta.

He laughed to himself. So that was it! Strange to think…Goku finally became a true Saiy-jin.

The old Goku, the one everyone knew and loved had been human. Despite his blood his mind had been human. He had been raised human and acted like a human.

This Goku was a Saiy-jin, in mind and body. That was what was different. Somehow someway he had stopped being human. Maybe it happened out in space, or maybe that Shrike creature did it. But the human in Goku no longer existed.

He wasn't sure how to explain it better than that, even to himself.

Still…despite all these differences he still was Goku, not the earths would be destroyer Kaccorot. Goku still had that aura that had drawn him, and later other enemies to be Goku's allies. He still had a pure heart. Was still the one everyone loved.

Piccolo smiled as he closed his eyes. Truth be told he liked this Goku better than the old.

He lowered his ki as to suggest he had fallen asleep. Goku had a party and his family waiting for him. No sense in him staying here to watch over him.

He listened as Goku spoke to Bra. They decided that nothing was to be done. Might as well go home. Goku could check up on him later.

They suddenly disappeared.

Piccolo cringed and shuddered as a particular strong pain racked his body.

Dear Kami and all the souls, what was happening to him.

Suddenly the door opened.

Piccolo opened his eyes as Dende walked in. He was smiling mischievously.

Piccolo: I want you to tell me what's going on right now Dende!!

Dende: They're gone right?

Piccolo nodded as some of his anger slipped. Why would that be important?

Dende: The truth is I thought it best if I told you after they left. It is rather personal after all.

Piccolo: Personal??

Dende took a deep breath that told him the news. It was said later that even Freeza locked away in hell could hear Piccolo's scream.

Piccolo: WHAT!!!

A few hours later, and unaware of Piccolo distress, a small group of women walked down a narrow path. They had left the party to seek comfort in their female friends. However at the moment they walked in silence, each nursing their own thoughts, and enjoying the scenery. On each side of them grooves of tree's lined the path. It was the time of year from blossoms and the trees did not disappoint them. Each was filled to the fullest with the beautiful white blossoms. Leaves rustled softly in the wind carrying the rich and sweet smell of the flowers. The air was full with chirping birds and the humm of insects.

Shining brightly above them sun beat down hot on their heads, but the shade of the trees and gentle breeze tempered the heat. The path was a recently new one. For the soft grass was trampled but not worn yet to dirt.

Ahead of them a wild rabbit hopped into view. It stopped in the middle of the trail and scratched at its ear. Hearing the three women it sat up on its haunches to watch them. Its warm black eyes stared at them as its cute little nose sniffed the air around it. As they approached it dashed into the underbrush.

At length one the women spoke.

Bulma: Hard to believe I'm going though this again.

Pan: Aren't you happy?

Bulma stared ahead her eyes unfocused.

Bulma: Well…yes…I think I am. Its just you know. I'm a great grand mother. I'm too old to be having a baby.

18: But you are young again, and your husband is a Saiy-jin. That changes the rules a little, I would think.

18 raised an eyebrow at Bulma as she waited for an answer.

Bulma: You're right of course. But I'm just a human…a genius…but still just human. I can't help but think about these things.

Pan laughed, it was a sweet sound. So happy and carefree, it brought smiles to the other two women.

Pan: Don't worry it'll be great. We can shop for baby stuff together.

Both 18 and Bulma stopped in shock. Was she saying what they thought she was saying? 18 being the more outspoken asked right out…

18: Pan…are you pregnant??

Pan shrugged and smiled shyly.

Pan: I haven't told anyone yet.

Bulma: OH Pan!

Bulma nearly in tears went up to Pan and hugged her fiercely.

Bulma: Oh We're going to get fat together. That's so sweet!

18: I can't wait to see everyone's face.

Pan laughed again.

Pan: Here we are.

She pointed toward a tree in the middle of a field a little way from the trail. It was noticeably because it was the only tree in this field. It lay silent and alone as it grew on top of a small hill. Wild flowers grew abundantly around it, dotting the field with their bright colors. It was a beautiful place.

Bulma: It's beautiful…

Pan: Ya…Ubuu and me come here all the time with Chi-Kou. On the other side of the hill is a creek. It's perfect for Chi-Kou to play in.

The women made their way up the hill to the oak tree.

18 then took out a blanket from a capsule and spread it on the ground under the tree. Bulma got the picnic basket.

Bulma: Thank god you saved this back Pan.

Pan: Hey I did live with my dad. I know how Saiy-jins are.

They sat down of the soft blanket and enjoyed sandwiches, chips and some desserts. Bulma seemed addicted to the chocolate pie. She had two large pieces.

Bulma: I can't believe…

She licked her finger.

Bulma: That I didn't realize I was pregnant. I mean I've noticed I was craving chocolate a lot more than usual. I just didn't make the connection.

Pan: Did you crave it with your last two babies?

Bulma: Yep! Chocolate…and also Ketchup and cheese sandwiches.

18: Gross…Just ketchup and cheese?

Bulma nodded sadly.

Bulma: the thing was I didn't like them. But that didn't stop me from craving them.

Pan laughed as she put her empty plate into the basket.

Pan: That ain't nothing! With Chi-Kou I craved Grandma's Sea Eel Soup.

Bulma shuddered in disgust.

Bulma: The sea eel soup…the one with the raw eel heads in it?

18: And…the boiled eggs of squids…?

Pan: Yep.

Bulma: I pity you I really do.

Pan: Don't pity me…Ubuu had to make the stuff.

18: What do you want Bulma, girl or boy?

Bulma: Well I don't really care. I got one of each already.

18: Pan?

Pan: Well…I do kinda want a boy. But a girl would be wonderful to. And if it is a boy I want to name him Atlas. But it matters what Ubuu has to say really.

Suddenly 18 pointed toward the sky.

18: Is that Saradina?

Pan and Bulma craned their necks to see where she was pointing. She was right, it was Saradina. She was flying just above the treetops at a leisurely pace. She seemed to be searching. Maybe she was looking for them?

Bulma: SARADINA!

She must have heard Bulma's scream (they sure did…ouch) because she changed course and was coming toward them. Within moments she reached them and landed.

Bulma: What's up.

Saradina blinked and looked up at the sky. She seemed confused.

Saradina: Nothing but the sky is up?

Bulma instantly realizing the mistake laughed softly. Yep…she remembered those days. Vegeta had gone though the same thing until he learned the earth's lingo.

Bulma: No…What's up means what's going on.

Saradina: Oh…Bra sent me to tell you that they are back.

Pan: Is Piccolo ok?

Saradina nodded.

Saradina: He's fine. But Dende wouldn't tell them what was wrong, or try to fix it.

Bulma: Hmmm that's strange.

Saradina: Goku said Dende said that Piccolo would get better on his own.

Pan: Well ladies…

Pan looked up at the sky around them. The sun was starting to set, and darkness was coming.

Pan: We better get back; the mosquito's are killers at night here.

Bulma: Besides you need to talk to Bra.

She blushed slightly at the reminder of her current condition. Saradina blinked then sniffing at the air smiled brightly. She knew what Bulma meant.

Pan shook her head muttering something about saiy-jins and grabbed Bulma as they took off into the cool evening air.

When they got back to the house Pan instantly noticed two things. One…someone had started a bone-fire. Everyone was outside enjoying the warmth and marshmallows. Two…Grandpa Goku was starting to tell his story.

Pan excused herself and went to sit next to Ubuu. He smiled warmly up at her, a smile that she returned. She decided then to tell them…and everyone else the good news after Grandpa's story.

Goku: In the beginning there was nothing. No planets, no stars, no life, nothing but a

A being called Fate. She was the ONE being, the first of all things.

One day long, long ago Fate decides to create life. Why is unknown. Maybe she was lonely, being the only thing in existence. Or maybe she wanted life to prove her power, or to have underling to worship her. Why does not matter. For one does not question a being such as Fate.

And in the beginning Fate was successful in creating first the worlds and then the heavens…all for her greatest creation…life. But when the time came, when she tried to create life, she found she could not. She tried for many hundreds of years but was unable. Finally she grew angry and cursed the new world, which she had created. Then tears of loneliness fell from her eyes and landed on the planet Yardat. Life sprung up from the ground by those tears. And thus the Yardatians became the children of Fate. The first-born people.

She went though the universe creating life, creating different kinds of life. Cruel life, smart, weak, and powerful life, all was made and giving that all powerful gift.

Fate had found the secret to life…But in creating life, something horrible happened.

The children and some adults around him leaned forward. Pan smiled as leaned against Ubuu and wrapped her arms around his waste. When did her grandfather become such a storyteller? He was great.

Goku: Her power grew unstable. Without her power she knew that life would be

destroyed. But in life's destruction her power would be restored. She would continue as she had once been, but her greatest creations would cease to be.

But instead of letting us die, so her power could be as it was. Fate split herself so life could continue. It was a great act, made because of the greatest emotion…love.

When she split one side remained the same…remained Fate. The other half became all of the emotions that could be felt. And thus the Ultimate Kia was born. And for many years things were as they should be.

Kevin: But I thought there was four Ultimate Kia's?

Goku smiled down at Trunks second youngest son. His white eyes shone with a gentle light.

Goku: That is true Kevin.

Kevin: So what happened!?

Angie: Kevin…if you stop asking question and let him finish I'm sure he'll tell you.

Several chuckles sounded around the room as little Kevin muttered an apology and sat back.

Goku: Where was I…oh yes?

And for many years things were as they should be. But then…

Goku eyed Kevin who looked as if he was going to ask a question. The boy gulped and leaned back again.

Goku: but then…Something happened the Ultimate Kia's power became unstable. It was decided by him and Fate that once again he would have to split. But this time to make sure everything became safe the Ultimate Kia would have to become four separate Kia's. And so in a ritual called the Trypilus the four bothers where born. Ultimate Solitude the Kia of loneliness and loss, Ultimate Wrath Kia of anger, Ultimate Pain Kia of Pain, fear and Hate and Ultimate Soul Kia of love and friendship. For many great eons…for years could not be counted the brothers ruled over life. Mortal were influenced and power was given. For the way the four Brothers worked was that the more powerful the mortal the more powerful they were. So often the brother argued and fought over the most powerful. You see there were rules, created by Fate and the original Ultimate Kia. These rules made the universe say in balance.

And all was well until…The Ultimate Kia of Pain formed an evil and cruel plan.

Goku went on to tell the story about his trip in space. He talked about Solitude, and Saradina. He talked about his pain and guilt over his blossoming feelings for the beautiful Saiy-jin. Saradina at this point started blushed terribly.

Goku: And then when all hope was lost…I heard a voice. A voice telling me that it

loved me. Begging for me not to leave her. I opened my eyes and there before me was Saradina. She wasn't dead, as I had thought. It's hard for me to explain what happened then. I guess I could say our souls touched, or that we became one. Whatever happened though, all knew right then truly how much that I loved Saradina.

Not long after he finally finished his story. Pan noticed she wasn't the only woman crying. How could you not it was such a touching and romantic story. Full of danger and emotion. Not only that but of sacrifice. He grandfather gave up total and complete power for the woman he loved. You couldn't get any sweeter than that.

Ubuu: Woman you're getting my shirt all wet.

Pan puffed annoyed.

Pan: You're lucky I don't blow my nose on it.

Bulma: That was great Goku!

Out of the corner of her eye Pan saw Vegeta whisper into his ear. Pan blinked confused. What would Vegeta have to say to her father? Hmmm she would ask later.

But first she to tell everyone something.

Standing up Pan made it known she wanted to say something.

After a moment the general chatter and muttering silenced.

Pan: First off I want to thank you all for coming. This has truly been a night to remember. I hope everyone had a wonderful time. Second I want to congratulate Bulma and Vegeta on their happy day.

Vegeta: Happy? Humph! What ever…(clang) OUCH!

Bulma smirked evil and put away a fry pan, which she had mysteriously gotten out of thin air.

Bulma: Thank you Pan. We're both thrilled about the baby.

Pan: And well there's something that I wanted to say to everyone.

Her smile was just as evil as Bulma's. Ubuu blinked and shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

Pan: I'm also going to have a baby.

Stunned silence followed her confession.

Finally one voice managed to speak out.

Ubuu: WHAT?

That gave way for everyone to start talking at once.

Vegeta: Glad I'm not the only one about to go though hell.

He ducked the frying pan that had made its way back into Bulma's hand.

Ubuu: what…when…how?

Pan rolled her eyes.

Pan: I think we all now how. So I'm not getting into that.

Ubuu: How long have you known?

Pan: Only a couple of days. I wasn't sure when to tell you.

Ubuu: Whoa…

She felt a warm hand on her shoulder. Turning around she looked up into her Grandfathers eyes.

Goku: I'm happy for you Pan.

With tears in her eyes she hugged her grandfather tightly.

Pan: I'm just glad you're here with me Grandpa.

Suddenly Gohan's stunned voice rose above all.

Gohan: Mr. Piccolo!

Pan blinked as she looked toward her father. True enough Piccolo was there.

He did not look good. His skin was even whiter than it had been before.

Bra ran up to him her doctorly concern evident.

Piccolo shook his head at her. He looked very…umm…rattled. Something she had never thought he could look.

Goku: Piccolo…what's wrong?

He swallowed hard as he focused on Goku. His large frame trembled slightly, and he was sweating a good deal. Pan could sense his ki as most others could here and was more than slightly worried. It seemed to waver in strength like waves in the ocean.

Piccolo: You won't believe what Dende said I'm going to do.
