Today I tried to engage the Saiyajin in conversation. Mostly because I wanted to find out his name. It was getting tiring calling him Saiyajin all the time. I settled in front of him (not to close because of how he kept looking at me) and flashed him a friendly smile. He didn't even blink.
“You're healing really well,” I started off aware of how lame at small talk I was.
I continued anyway. “And if you continue to cooperate you and your comrades will be out of here in no time.”
He simply studied me like he always did. I sighed. There was one thing about Saiyajins that was apparant. They were very good at hiding their emotions. Not saying that I expected for him to jump for joy, but I had at least thought he would show some sort of emotion.
Standing up, I planted my hands on my hips and gazed at him. I was going to have to change the bandages on his wounds soon. The last time that had been done, he had still been in the medical station. And he would probably have to get a bath soon too. I chewed on my bottom lip nervously. It was a habit I had been trying to get rid of for a while. While doing this I noticed that the saiyajin's eyes had dropped down to the lip I was currently abusing. He watched me. I stopped arubtly, and his gazed slid back up to meet my eyes. He smirked at me, and I felt a flush rise to my cheeks. I cleared my throat and turned to leave. As I tapped in the code I could still feel his eyes burining into me. I didn't dare turn around.
Later
After I had calmed myself I returned to change his bandages. I hoped he could function enough to bathe himself, because I doubt I would be able to. When I returned to check the Saiyajin's wounds, I once again tried to start up a conversation. The Saiyajin seemed uinterested and continued to remain silent. I sighed and took out a bandage to rewrap his shoulder. When my fingers touched his skin he stiffened, but other then that stayed still. My fingers continued to brush across his skin as I wrapped his other wounds, but he did nothing. I was relivied. I had hope that he wouldn't give me a difficult time.
I was just finishing the last bandage, when something furry brushed against my leg. I jumped slightly, and looked around. Nothing was there. I frowned and turned my gaze to the Saiyajin, who still had a bored expression on his face. I shrugged and bent down to pick up the rest of my supplies. This time, the furry thing stroked my side. This time I did yelp, and jumped again. I heard a chuckle beside me, and turn to look at the Saiyajin. His face showed his amusement, and I saw the furry thing flicking behind him. I gazed at it in surprise then slid my gaze back to the Saiyajin, whose face still had the look of amusement on it. I blinked and slid my eyes from him to whatever that furry thing behind him was. Realization slid over me and my eyes widened. I stared at him in stunned wonder.
“That wasn't a belt was it? It was tail!”
He continued to gaze at me with amusement, but this time a smirk slid into place. His tail flicked in front of my face, as if in greeting. Glancing at him, I hesitantly reached out to touch it. The fur was soft under my fingers, and I stroked it gently. The saiyajin's expression changed abruptly at my touch. He seemed pleased by it. I gazed at him curiously, and gave his tail a more firm stroke. He shuddered, and I made another realization. A saiyajin's tail, is very, very sensitive. This realization made, I released his tail and took a step back. I could've sworn that there was a look of dissapointment that slipped across his face, but it was gone before I could confirm it.
Deciding there was nothing else left to do, I turned and left.
