Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Not By Choice ❯ Just Met ( Chapter 1 )

AN: I’ve been thinking for awhile about writing a fic with Mieke and Vegeta (the king). You know; just a little insight on their relationship when they were young. Of course, you’ll only know who Mieke is if you’ve read “Empire.” You can find it on Fanfiction.net.

However, this gets kinda... strong and graphic. And King Vegeta will just be “Vegeta” because obviously the Vegeta we always write about has not been born yet. Now that that’s out of the way, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters from Dragon Ball Z. However, Mieke is mine.

Chapter 1: Just Met

Venova – Vegeta-sei
Present Day

Bulma and Chichi watched the small interaction that the king and queen of Vegeta-sei had. For all intents and purposes, one could gather that they hated one another. They never shared a kind look between one another. All that the two young human women could pick up from their gazes an unadulterated hate. It wasn’t like the two couldn’t see why Mieke held a certain amount of contempt towards the king; he was an awfully demanding and controlling man.

The queen had gone back to drinking from her goblet when she noticed the two pairs of eyes on her. “What?” she asked.

Bulma looked at Chichi, who had averted her eyes with a slight cough. Sighing, Bulma faced Mieke again. “Mieke, do you even like King Vegeta?”

Mieke sat her goblet down and simply smirked at the younger women. “On occasion I do. I’ve learned over time to just... accept whatever he throws my way.”

Chichi looked back over at Mieke. “You didn’t marry the king willingly, did you?”

“Of course not! Do you think any self-respecting girl would want to marry that jackass? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. I was simply the ‘object of his affections,’ as I was told by councilmen. Of course, they were somewhat against our... union because of my coloring. However, all of the previous kings seemed to be attracted to women with strange features. The king is no different,” Mieke answered.

“How did you two even get together?” Bulma asked.

Mieke narrowed her eyes. “It’s a short but relatively simple story. Are you two sure you want to know? I will spare not a detail.” Bulma and Chichi exchanged glances and then nodded. “Okay. It all started right after I became an Elite...”

Venova – Vegeta-sei
A fair amount of time ago...

A 16-year-old Saiyan girl squeezed through two slabs of rock underwater. She was in hot pursuit of a rather large and quick fish. Swimming was totally different from flying. There was far more resistance and she was holding her breath. Mieke could just blast the fish, but she was enjoying the chase far too much.

Prince Vegeta sat up in a tree. He had escaped from the palace after his time with an all-too-compliant maid and was shirking his some of his duties. He held a bottle of Shuti, the strongest liquor on Vegeta-sei. Before bringing the bottle to his lips, he noticed a disturbance in the water below him. He jumped down just as a large fish landed on the shore.

Not something you see every day, Vegeta thought while taking a swig of his Shuti. He glanced back towards the lake and saw a female surface. She was an oddly-colored Saiyan with claret-colored tresses that were in a high, braided ponytail. She had not yet noticed the prince. Vegeta smirked; she looked young.

“Well, hello.”

The girl glanced up at the sound of a deep voice. She squinted as a tall, spiky-haired Saiyan male stood beside her fish. She began to swim towards the shore. Once her feet could touch the sediment, she appeared to rise from the water.

Vegeta raked his eyes over the small girl’s body. It did not appear as if she recognized him for she just sauntered past him without a word to retrieve her fish. This is a nice surprise, he thought.

“Are you mute? Or perhaps deaf? I greeted you. The only proper thing to do is to return the greeting,” Vegeta said.

The female snatched up her fish and looked up at him. “Hello.” She turned to walk away. “Goodbye.” She was visibly shocked when he phased in front of her. She took a step back, her frown becoming deeper.

“What’s your name?” he asked.

She stared at him for a moment. “None of your business.” She phased past him and continued walking away. The prince was in front of her once again. “What do you want? I’m not giving you my name.”

“Is that so? Perhaps you should. You never know who you might be talking to,” he said.

The girl sighed. “My name is...”

MIEKE!”

Mieke looked behind her. A familiar head of hair was coming through the brush. Her eyes widened and she dropped the fish. “BARDOCK!” She ran towards him and almost into him. “You’re back!”

Bardock nodded. “I told you I would return.” He glanced up and saw the prince drinking from his bottle. He was watching Mieke intently. “Prince Vegeta, what are you doing here?”

Mieke tensed in front of Bardock. The prince? She turned to look at the tall man. He’s the fucking PRINCE? Damnit!

“Just went for a walk. I came across the little one.” Vegeta walked over to them leisurely. “She must not have recognized me as she refused to give me her name,” he said.

Bardock frowned for a moment and looked down at Mieke, who was staring at the ground now. “Being disrespectful to the prince? I suppose nothing much has changed,” he said.

Mieke glared up at him. “Hey! I didn’t know who he was. Besides, he was trying his hardest to flirt with me and I’m not interested.” She retrieved her fish. “Crenia is waiting for me. You’re welcome to join us for lunch,” she said. She disappeared into the brush.

Vegeta smirked. “Headstrong, that one. Cute, too. Why don’t you invite her to the party?” he suggested. Then he shook his head. “No, don’t make it an invitation. Make it a command. I demand her presence.”

“Yes, sire,” Bardock said with a nod. Vegeta walked off after that.

~~~
“Bardock’s back.” Mieke sat across from Crenia. “And I met the prince,” she said as she ripped the fish apart.
Crenia looked up immediately at Mieke. Crenia cleared her throat. “The prince? Well why are you back here? Shouldn’t you be talking to them?”
Mieke shook her head. “Because he kept eyeballing me like I was a piece of fresh meat. And we all know his reputation. I am not one of those girls who dream of being his next conquest.”
“Well, he does have a rather negative reputation...” Crenia said. Then she scoffed. “That’s definitely a matter of perception. Some girls go for that kinda guy. Plus, he’s supposed to be looking for a wife, right? Maybe he’s browsing,” she said.
Mieke looked at her friend. Then they started to laugh. Crenia stopped and just shook her head, but Mieke kept laughing.
“Will you talk to Bardock again? He’s only just got back,” Crenia asked.
Mieke sobered up and cleared her throat. “I will. But I’m not going anywhere near him while the prince is there. Something about him really turns me off.”
Just as twilight sat in, Mieke walked back to the clearing where she had met the prince and Bardock. She could still feel that he was close by. She could feel him, yet she could not see him.
“Bardock, I know you’re still here! I’m not coming to look for you!” Mieke yelled. She smiled when she felt a presence behind her. “Well, that was easier than...” Mieke paused as she turned around. Vegeta was standing behind her. Her soft expression turned into one of annoyance.
“Aw. Don’t drop that smile. I quite like it,” the prince said.
Mieke sighed. “What do you want? Where’s Bardock?” she asked, trying to see around him.
“Haven’t the slightest. However, you do seem to like him greatly.” Vegeta began circling her. “You should come see him. He’ll be at my party at the palace next week,” he said.
Mieke hugged her sides. “Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll see Bardock on my own time.” She started to walk away, but the prince grabbed her wrist firmly. “Let me go!”
Vegeta pulled her closer. “It wasn’t a request, little Red. I expect you to be there or the consequences will be dire,” he said. He released her and left her standing alone in the clearing.
Bardock cleared his throat as he exited the bushes. Mieke turned her head and glared at him. He shrugged sheepishly. “You know, you shouldn’t be so disrespectful to him. He is royalty, after all,” he said.
“Shut up. I don’t want to be anywhere near him. I’ve heard what he does to girls. I think I’ll pass.”
Bardock sighed. “Mieke, he’ll only continue to pursue you. Just go for a few hours and stay near me. Maybe he’ll think you’re my woman or something.”
Mieke scoffed loudly. “Your woman? Pfft! He’ll try to make his move on me regardless of if we pretended to be together.” She sighed and pushed away from him. “I’m going back to the camp to get some rest. I’ve had a long day.”
Bardock watched her retreat for a moment. “Mieke!”
“Yeah?” Mieke asked as she turned to look at him. She noticed the much softer look he was giving her. “What is it?”
“You’ve... really grown up,” he said almost sheepishly.
Mieke stared blankly at him for a moment. In his own underhanded way, he was saying she was pretty. She nodded and smiled. “I’m glad you’re back, Bardock.” She turned and left.
Yeah... Bardock sighed. I’m glad I’m back, too.
The next week went by slowly for Vegeta. Currently, he was signing parchment a councilman had placed before him. He had no idea what it was for, but he signed it nonetheless. He had bigger and better things to worry about. Bardock and Paragus stood on either side of him in the conference room. After signing the final parchment, Vegeta shooed the councilman away.
“Bardock?” Vegeta said.
The guard looked up at his name. “Yes, Vegeta?”
“What was that redhead’s name again?”
Bardock swallowed and looked up and away from Vegeta. “Mieke,” he said gruffly.
Vegeta nodded, ignoring Bardock’s tone. “Mieke...” he whispered. “Paragus, send me my chambermaid; Koyu, I think her name is. Bardock, you’re relieved until the party tonight. Make sure that Mieke has something suitable to wear. Also, make sure she is in attendance.” Both men nodded and left Vegeta alone in the conference room.
Mieke, Vegeta thought. The beautiful and enigmatic girl with almost no manners had plagued his thoughts all night and all day for the whole week after they’d been introduced. She was very different from the others he’d been around. That was something he liked very much. Even after learning his name and position she refused to show him any respect. She stood up to him firmly. Vegeta was so lost in thought that he did not notice Koyu, his latest conquest, enter.
“You called for me, your majesty?” Koyu’s small voice said, bringing Vegeta out of his thoughts and back to his senses. He faced her in his swivel chair. “What would you like me to do, your majesty?” Koyu asked. Vegeta simply smirked at her. Koyu approached the prince. She nodded and got on her knees without uttering a word.
“Good girl,” Vegeta mumbled as she prepared him. He’d learned that this simple chambermaid was very talented. In fact, most of the chambermaids were extremely pleasurable.
Koyu ran her tongue up and down Vegeta’s length twice before taking him all into her mouth. Vegeta tangled his fingers in her wild hair as she went back and forth, engulfing and suckling every inch of him. She would occasionally stop at the tip and flick her tongue around before devouring him again. Then she started to go faster and faster. Vegeta, unable to control himself any longer, released just as Koyu was moving away. He held her head in position and smiled and she was forced to swallow.
Vegeta frowned when he felt her move away. He glared down at her, his dark eyes meeting hers. “I’m not finished yet,” he said. Swallowing a sigh, Koyu got back on her knees just as the door opened. Vegeta swiveled so that Koyu was somewhat hidden under the table.
Vegeta watched as a few councilmen entered with Paragus and another young man. Paragus shrugged, but Vegeta waved his hand. “What is it?” he asked.
“Prince Vegeta, your father decided that you needed another on your private detail.” The old councilman stepped to the side, revealing the rather thin young man. “This is Kenji. Don’t be fooled by his looks. He’s a very capable soldier. Very obedient, too.”
Vegeta nodded and sized up the new soldier. “Kenji, eh? Well, I can’t really disobey my father when it comes to this. Welcome to my crew, Kenji.” He sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. His right hand disappeared under the table. “I’m sure you’ll have a great time.” Vegeta waved his left hand, telling the councilman to leave. The old man obeyed quickly.
Paragus raised an eyebrow. “Vegeta, what’s wrong?” he asked.
Vegeta shook his head and smirked. “Nothing at all, Paragus. Not one thing. By the way, I have something new to show you later.”
Mieke straightened her dress. It had been sent to her dorm as a gift from the prince. She had half a mind not to wear it, but Bardock had insisted that she do it to please the prince.
I don’t understand why. I just met the bastard a fucking week ago. Why should I do anything to appease him? she thought as she ran a hand through her hair.
“Well, aren’t you a sight,” Bardock said as Mieke neared him. He backed away when he saw the feral glare she gave him.
“Let’s just get this over with. I know how you guys get when there’s enough liquor in you. I don’t want to be around for that,” Mieke said while stalking past Bardock. He shook his head and followed closely behind her.
I’m never forgiving Bardock for making me go to this... Mieke jumped when she felt a body in very close proximity of hers from behind. She felt a presence next to her right ear. What the...
“Just play nice for awhile. You know I won’t let anything happen to you,” Bardock whispered in her ear.
Mieke sighed, unconsciously leaning back to him. “I wish I’d grown up hideous.”
“Why’s that?”
She started walking again, turning to give Bardock a mischievous eye. “It’s so hard being pretty.”
~~~

The party was boring and uneventful for Mieke. As she predicted, it was just a bunch of soldiers drinking and picking on the girls from the harem. The females who were in the military would have none of it, but they did their fair share of drinking. Mieke had chosen to stay in the shadows, purposely avoiding the prince and his cronies.

Vegeta glanced around. He leaned over to Bardock. “Where’s that fiery redhead? I haven’t seen her all night,” he said.

Bardock cleared his throat, looking around. “She is here, Vegeta. Maybe she’s just hiding. Mieke was never very straightforward. I’ll go find her,” he said. He left Vegeta as he played around with the other girls.

Bardock found Mieke huddled in a corner, drinking something out of a goblet. They met eyes and he narrowed his. Mieke widened hers and shrugged. She sat the goblet down on a passing tray and crossed her arms.

“Mieke, why are you hiding back here? You know you have to at least make yourself known to Vegeta,” Bardock said irritably.

“Make myself known?” Mieke stepped forward, glaring up at him. “Okay.” She walked around Bardock and towards the front of the room where Vegeta was lounging.
Bardock shook his head. Why do I feel like she’s going to do something stupid?

Mieke stopped a few feet from Vegeta. It took him a moment to realize she was standing there. He sat up to get a better look at her in the skimpy dress he got for her. The view of her cleavage was so generous that she was practically spilling out of it.

“Why’ve you been hiding from me, little Red?” he asked.

Mieke rolled her eyes. “I haven’t. You’ve been sitting here getting drunk for the past hour. I’ve had my fill of fun, so I’ll take my leave now.” She turned and left without giving Vegeta a chance to respond.

Bardock reappeared by Vegeta’s side. “Should I go after her, Vegeta?”

“No,” Vegeta said as he drank more liquor. “I’ll chase this one down myself.”
