Getting The Story Started
By : MRC

"It's such a beautiful day!" exclaimed an elderly gray haired woman, "I love summer days..."

The woman was standing in a beautfil garden full of flowers. She loved warm, sunny, summer days. She bent down to smell the roses, when all of a sudden she heard a rustling in the nearby fuschia's.

"Eh?" the old woman said to the sound.
"Gramma!! Gramma!!" a little orange haired boy shouted, as he jumped out from the fuschia plant.
"Nekar!" she exclaimed as she bent down and opened her arms out to the boy waiting to leap towards her.
"Gramma!!" the boy shouted, leaping toward her with joy.

The two hug and kiss each other. Nekar looks at the one he calls "Gramma" with such love in his eyes. And the old lady returns the favor twice fold.

Another rustling is heard.....

"Hmmm...." the old woman replied with a smirk on her face.
"Hee hee...." Nekar giggled to himself.
"Who is that rustling in my bushes?" the old woman said with a smile.
"Me! Me! Me!" a hoard of voices shouted.

Up from the bushes popped five little heads.

"Oh my!" the old woman exclaimed.

The five children ran from the bushes and tackled the old woman

"What are you five doing here!?" the old woman said with a laugh.
"Story! Story!" the children yelled with excitement.
"What story?" the old woman asked, still wearing a smile.
"The one with the time traveler..." said a black haired teenage girl emerging from the bushes.
"You want that one!?" the old woman yelled in a goofy voice.
"Yes!!" screamed one of the small children.
"How on Earth did you find out about that story?" the old woman asked.
"We heard Auntie talking about it." A blue haired girl answered pointing to herself and what appeared to be her sister.
"Mommy said something about it to Daddy...." A green haired boy answered and a purple haired girl nodded in agreement.
"They told me about it....." A young pink haired girl answered, pointing to the teenage black haired girl and the two other teenagers that were now with her.

the old woman looked at the teenagers, then at the five children, and then at Nekar. The old woman whispered in Nekar's ear, "Do you think I should tell them, are they old enough?" Nekar nodded his head up and down. "Well, if you say so..." the old woman said stretching her hands.

"Are you kids ready for a story?"
"Yea!!!" the kids exclaimed.

The three teenagers in the back walked in closer. There was the black haired girl, a blonde haired girl, and a reddish-brown haired boy. The children gathered closer. The blue haired girl and her blue haired sister, the green haired boy and his purple haired sister, and of course the little pink haired girl. And Nekar jumped up on the old woman's lap. All of them were ready to hear the old woman's tale.

***************

"I'm going to tell you a tale....it is a tale filled with love, joy, sadness, and despair....it is a story from my childhood....it is a story about my relationship with a girl named B*chan...."
"Gramma?" Nekar said, interupting the old woman's story.
"Yes, Nekar?"
"Isn't your name B*chan?"
"Yes."

Nekar blinked looking quite confused.

The elderly woman looked out at the other children. They too had confused looks on their faces. She looked at the three teenagers. They were just smiling. She took in a deep sigh and began her story once more.

"This is a story about a lavender haired girl who came to the past to save my livelyhood....this is a story that will amaze you...."

The scene before us changes. It fades into a late summer afternoon. The sun is begining to set and everything has a warm, orangy tone to it. We see a little round shaped house in an empty field of grass and wildflowers. Everything looks so peaceful, so at rest. But as we widen our scope we see a city just a few miles off.

The city is completely decapitated. The smell of death is rampant. Ashes cover the street. Buildings on the verge of collapsing. There is no life at all.

Once more we focus in on the little house. Murmurs of voices can be heard. Three female, one male. They are chattering about happily. A clank of dishes, a splash of water, the sounds of life. It is such a stark contrast from that of the city just a few miles off.

Footsteps are heard. A young man is approaching the house. The warm color of the setting sun makes the young man's sandy blonde hair look orange. He approaches the door, he stands there for a few moments before knocking.

Movement is heard in the house. The red door opens with a creak. Before the young man is a tall green skinned fellow with pointed ears. He is wearing a long sleeved white shirt and dark blue pants.

"What took you so long?" the green man said with a grunt.
"There were long line..." the young man answered.
"Hmph." the green man answered, letting the young man walk in.

We follow the young man in. The door is closed and locked. The two men walk into the kitchen. There are three women sitting at the table. One is wearing a dark turqouise turtleneck and has aqua colored hair. One has graying black hair and is wearing a yellow asian style dress. And the third has lavender hair and is wearing a dark blue long sleeve shirt. She appears to be much younger than the other two women.

At the sight of the young man the lavender haired girl leaps from her chair. She clasps her arms around the young man's neck. We see a smile come across his face. The girl unhooks her arms and backs away form the man.

"What took you so long?" the girl asked the young man.
Before he could answer the green skinned man said, "He got stuck in long lines....." A smirk came across the green man's face.
"Uh-huh.....right...." the girl answered.
"Youd did get the part though....right??" the aqua haired woman questioned as she rose from her seat at the table.
"Sure did!" the young man answered, pulling out a small bundle of what appeared to be tissue paper.

The aqua haired woman quickly grabbed the small bundle and unwrapped it. She carefully scrutinized the small metal object and smiled.

"That's the one right?" the sandy haired young man asked.
"It sure is...." the woman answered as if in a heavy trance, "It sure is Nekar."

Everyone in the room smiled. They had been seeking that part for months now. With it they would be able to complete their device.

*****************

"This is boring!" the young green haired boy screamed, interupting his grandmother's story.
"What!?" the old woman exclaimed.
"Yea!!! Boring!!!!!" the other children screamed.

The old woman sighed. She had just begun her story, a true story, a story from her past, and her grandkids were bored.

"Well, if you're bored you don't have to listen. It's more of a grownup story anyway...." the old woman told the youngins.

The children just blinked. Then the pink haired girl began to cry. The other children just stared at their grandmother. She gave a sigh and little Nekar patted her on the head. Another grey haired woman came out from the house. She saw the scene and walked right over to her sister.

"Did they interupt one of your life stories again?"
"Yes."
"Want me to take them for a little bit?"
"Would you?"
"Of course! Anything for my older sister..." the other gray haired woman answered.

With that she gathered up all the little children on the ground and herded them into the house. She turned back before closing the door and looked at her older sister. Then she smiled and closed the door.

The grandmother gave a sigh of relief and then turned to Nekar, who was still sitting on her lap, and smiled.

"Story!!" Nekar shouted.
"Story!!" shouted the three teenagers sitting on the ground.
The old woman sat up, "Can you handle my story?"
"Yea!!!" the black haired teenager shouted.
B*chan turned to her youngest grandchild, "How old are you?"
"6.....remember??" Nekar answered looking up at his gramma.
"Can you wait a few more years?"
Nekar blinked and then sighed, "Yes....but only a few....."
"Thank you hunny." she replied, kissing her youngest grandchild on the top of his head.
"You will tell me though.....in a few years......" Nekar asked.
"In a few years hunny." she answered.

Nekar sighed once more and then jumped off his grandmother's lap. He skipped off to the house, opened the door, and joined his great auntie and cousins in the house.

The old woman turned toward the three teenagers.

"Story!!!" they shouted.
"I've told you it so many times....."
"Yea, but we wanna hear this sexed up, violence pumped, 'adult' version of yours." the black haired girl answered.

The old woman almost fell out of her chair laughing, while the three teenagers grinned evilly.

"C'mon B*chan, tell us your story...." the brown haired one spoke up.
"It's Grandma to you mister. And since you asked for it, you're gonna get it!!" she answered with a wink.

And so she began where she left off. She was going to tell her three eldest grandchildren the full, adult viewership intended, version of her story.
