Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Revolution of the Saiyans ❯ Chapter One ( Chapter 1 )
Author's Note: This is my first attempt at a real V/B fic, with a LOT of twists as usual. It will be PG-13 for now, but could change in later chapters, I don't know. This fic takes place some time after Cell and before Buu. It is alternate Universe, so it won't follow any specific guidelines of the show. Hopefully, a lot of action, mystery, and some romance. Please review and let me know how/if you like this. I've got a lot of ideas, and hopefully won't let down any of the V/B fans!
REVOLUTION OF THE SAIYANS
Vegeta stood rigidly, taunting the man in front of him. "How dare you try to impersonate Royalty!" Vegeta cursed as the man knelt before him. "You are nothing! I am the Prince; therefore I am destined to be King of the Saiyans! Not you! There is no royal blood in your veins….you are nothing but a third class Saiyan! And a pathetic one at that!" Vegeta reached down and grabbed the man by his dark black hair. "Now, the truth will be known…..this planet is rightfully mine….and I'm here to take it!"
Drais awoke from another nightmare, sweat pouring from his face. Quickly his feet hit the floor and he swung open the French doors of his palace bedroom. Outside the crisp, cool air hit his wet face, sending chills down his spine. Drais took a deep breath. "Just a…..dream." He said aloud, wrapping his brown tail around his waist. Taking another deep breath, his fear quickly left him, replaced by an unfathomable anger. "Damn you, Vegeta." He said, again aloud. "Why, after so much time, have you reemerged in my dreams so….vividly?"
"Sir?" The soft female voice said.
Turning around, Drais saw his servant woman, her black hair pulled back in a tight braid. "Spying on me again, Petra?" He said angrily. In two long steps, he was in front of her. "You know I don't like it when you hide in the shadows like that." He grabbed her by the throat and slung the young woman backwards. She hit the hardwood floor with a loud thump. Hurriedly she grabbed onto the bedpost and pulled herself up.
"I'm very sorry, my King." She said shakily, attempting to back out of his room. "It is almost dawn, and you requested to be awakened, my King." With her back against the door, he grabbed her long braid and pulled it into his fist.
"You are such a…faithful…servant." He said angrily. "So…beautiful."
Petra closed her eyes, waiting what was to come. Instead, Drais released her. "Leave me, girl." He said. "Before I change my mind."
She did not need any more encouragement. He could hear her soft footsteps as she ran down the long hallway of the palace.
Again, Drais' mind returned to Vegeta. "I won't let your ghost take everything from me." He said to himself. Hastily Drais dressed. Standing before his wall of mirrors, he admired his six foot three tall form in the Royal Saiyan armor. His Royal armor. The tight blue spandex fit securely around his muscled body, and the white and gold breastplate only added definition to his already toned and broad shoulders. Finally, he pulled on his white and golden boots, making sure they sparkled in the morning light.
He smiled confidently, watching his movements again in the mirrors. He opened the heavy door and walked stonily down the hallway. As he passed an array of guards, all similarly clad as he, they saluted Drais.
When he reached the main area of the Palace, he addressed the one in charge of his armies.
"Has the purging ship returned?" Drais asked.
The man in front of him saluted firmly. "No, my King. Not as of yet." General Kelon said. "I have the latest statistics ready for you, Sir." Drais waited, as his most trusted soldier, if anyone could ever really be trusted, prepared the computer's printouts. "They arrived at the targeted area at zero-one hundred hours, Sir. Since that time, they have purged the planet of the majority of its inhabitants, save for a few females." General Kelon, barely an inch shorter than Drais, again saluted. "They should arrive back before noon, Sir."
"Very well." Drais said. "Keep me informed of the ship's location at all times." Drais tried to hide the uncomfortable tone from his voice. No, it would not do for the King of Saiyans to show fear.
Drais kept his demeanor well hidden as he walked to the dinning area where his meal was being placed on the elaborate brass table. Multiple arrangements of flowers surrounded the room as well as an assortment of servants. Without speaking, Drais took his seat. As his meal was served, his mind was far away. It had been almost ten years since he established this new Saiyan planet, bringing together the few survivors of the original Vegeta. Now, planet Tragonis was the new home of the most powerful and most superior race in the galaxy. And with Drais as its King, he was quickly resuming the work his ancestors started centuries before. Before Frieza came and enslaved them….before his planet and people were destroyed.
Suddenly, Drais had no appetite. He pushed his plate away, spilling food on the satin tablecloth. The servants that watched his abrupt movement braced themselves for an angry outburst. The women bowed, their eyes never leaving the floor. But, they were too afraid to speak.
Drais almost laughed at the power he had over his people. But, he was not in the mood to laugh. "Tell Kelon I will be in the training chamber." He said, tossing his chair aside as he stomped away.
When he was gone, the women breathed more easily. Hurriedly, they cleaned up the mess their King had made and continued on their daily chores.
In the chamber, Drais trained for hours. He knew…whether it was because of his dreams or some form of insanity that was setting in…. that soon….he would face Vegeta.
"I don't know where you are, Vegeta." He said aloud, panting heavily from his intense workout. "But I'll locate you….and kill you before anyone finds out that you are alive." He fired an enormous blast, which ricocheted off the walls before dissipating. "No one will take my throne from me….no one…."

Bulma awoke from her deep sleep, slipping her arms around Vegeta's body. But, he was not there. She blinked, trying to rid her blue eyes of the sluggishness they felt. Brushing a small hand through her short blue hair, she glanced around the room. Vegeta was gone. Bulma got up and put on her robe, covering her nakedness. She opened the bedroom door and glanced down the hallway each direction. Nothing but darkness.
"Vegeta?" She whispered.
Still nothing. Taking only a moment, Bulma headed toward the training capsule outside that her father had built some time ago. It was where Vegeta went when he had issues that needed his attention. Lately, that seemed to be constantly. Bulma could not remember the last time her husband had actually slept through the night.
Once outside, the cold, wet grass was more than she could tolerate. She paused, noticing that indeed the enormous capsule was moving slightly.
"Vegeta." Bulma said softly, knowing she had found him. Instead of barging in, as she would have done a few years ago, she turned around and returned to bed. Whatever was on his mind was best dealt with in the confines of the capsule, where no innocent bystander could be hurt.
Bulma pulled the covers up around her chin and closed her eyes, wishing that Vegeta's strong and warm body were next to her. Sighing, she drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Vegeta continued his training until dawn.
