Revolution of the Saiyans

Chapter Seven

Bra was trying urgently to wake Marron up. When she felt the Earth exploding, Bra knocked Marron to the ground and covered her with her own body, wanting to protect her more fragile friend. But, now, Marron didn't want to wake up.

"Please….." Bra begged, gently shaking her best friend. "Wake up….Please, Marron……"

Moments later, Vegeta landed.

"Are you hurt?" He asked, hurrying to look his daughter in the face. He grabbed her arms and whirled her around.

"Daddy!" Bra tried to choke back a few tears, but was unsuccessful. She put her arms around Vegeta's neck and held onto her father tightly. "Daddy, Marron won't wake up." She cried.

Vegeta looked down at the small blond girl. "Her ki is weak, but she's alive." He told his daughter. He did not want to let Bra go, but knew they needed to find shelter….and answers. He reached down and carefully picked Marron up. "Her parents are just behind me. Can you fly?"

Bra nodded, pushing her long blue hair back from her face. "I was scared, daddy." Her words penetrated Vegeta's otherwise distant heart.

"I'm here now. No harm will come to you." He told her firmly, not showing the real emotions that he felt.

They had been flying about five minutes when they met up with Krillin and Eighteen. "Marron!" Krillin shouted.

"She is alive." Vegeta said. "But I believe she needs medical attention."

"The Lookout." Eighteen said. "That little Namek can heal her!"

There was no further discussion as they headed upward. The Lookout did not appear to be damaged badly, and Dende hurried out to help the human girl. "Marron is injured, Dende." Krillin said. "Please, heal my little girl…."

"Of course!" Dende said. "Put her down."

Vegeta lay the girl down on the tile and everyone backed away while Dende placed his healing hands on Marron's frail body.

As the golden light engulfed her, she slowly began to open her eyes.

In moments, she was healed.

"Marron….." Eighteen said, kneeling down to hug her daughter. "Oh, Marron."

The blond girl looked around, obviously having no memories of what had happened.

"Dende, what happened? Who attacked Earth?" Krillin asked.

The young God looked around at the faces before him. "Saiyans." He said softly.

Vegeta frowned deeply. "WHAT?" He shouted, shaking his fist in the air. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN….SAIYANS? THERE ARE NO MORE OF MY PEOPLE!"

"You are wrong, Vegeta." Dende said. "We have all been very, very wrong."

Only a handful of students from the university had survived the multiple blasts. Gohan quickly went to help the ones he could, and mourned the many he could not. A man of 25, he had seen so much death and destruction. Yet, each time it seemed to affect him. Once he had done what he could, he hurried outside, finding the streets empty. Only a few bodies remained, and those were burned beyond any recognition. However, the dust in the air spoke the truth. Gohan knew something more horrible than he had ever seen, or even imagined, had just occurred.

Wanting to make sure his family was safe; he hurried in the direction of the Son house, the home he still shared with his parents and brother.

Goku was standing outside, somewhat dazed.

"Dad!" Gohan shouted as he landed.

But Goku did not respond immediately.

"Dad?" Gohan said, more softly. "Where's mom?"

Goku looked up, shaking his head. "She's…….she's gone."

Gohan's eyes were like saucers. "NO!" He shouted. He ran past his father and into the house. He searched each room, finding nothing but some dust, which had scattered in the kitchen area. Gohan fell to his knees, unable to accept that his mother was gone. Goku found his eldest son in tears.

Putting a hand on his shoulder, Goku tried to comfort his son. "We have the Dragonballs….we can bring her back." He reminded him.

Gohan stood up and nodded. "First, I want to find out what caused this….who is responsible."

Trunks and Goten felt the incredible rocking of the Earth, but had been protected inside the training chamber. When they exited, it was not immediately apparent that anything catastrophic had happened. However, when they entered the Capsule Corporation Headquarters, the truth was evident.

Running frantically, Trunks made his way through the now dusty hallways of the company. The elevators were not functioning, so he literally flew down the stairs, with Goten right behind him, knowing where his friend was going.

In search of his family.

Down below the main floors was the laboratory area shared by Bulma, her father, and a handful of the world's most extraordinary scientists and computer geniuses.

"MOM!" Trunks shouted as he passed the final set of steps.

"Here, Trunks!" Was the thankful reply he heard.

"MOM!" He grabbed his mom and hugged her.

"Trunks, what happened up there?" Bulma was frantic as well. "Where is Bra? Vegeta?"

"I'm not sure mom." Trunks told her. "But…..well, it must have been something nuclear. From what we've seen, the majority of the office workers and personnel have been vaporized."

Bulma's hand covered her mouth in horror. Mr. Briefs came up behind his daughter. "There…there…" He said, gently rubbing her back. "We'll find a way to fix it all."

Bulma looked intently at her son. "The Dragonballs." She said.

"I know, mom." Trunks said. "Bra and Marron found three last night….but….well, I got mad and destroyed the radar."

"Oh….Trunks…." Bulma's mind was racing. "Find your father…find Bra….find anyone who can help or at least tell us what the hell is going on." She said, finding the inner strength that was her driving force. "I'll get busy making a new radar." She cupped her son's face. "I'm so glad you are safe…..you too Goten." She said to the other Saiyan boy.

"Sir, we have a lock on the five scouter one powers'." Domia said. "They are scattered, but seem to be as strong as ever. Even the level two's and most of the three's are still alive."

"They are strong. Perhaps the level two's and three's are half breed Saiyans with a diminished power level." Niekko said.

"Whoever they are, they will die." Arello said angrily.

"Unless they are females." General Kelon said. "I do not believe the King would approve of a female, especially if she were a pure breed, being killed. They are far too rare."

"Of course." Arello said.

"Sir…" Perrin said. "We have found a suitable place for our ship to land."

"Good." Kelon said. "Then, let us begin the true meaning of our mission. By the time the other ships arrive, Earth will be rid of any renegade Saiyan's."
