Revolution of the Saiyans

Chapter Sixteen

Goku sat down, in a state of shock. "Another brother?" He asked.

Bulma nodded her head. "That's what Vegeta said. Apparently this one isn't evil like that Raditz person. At least not as far as I can tell."

"Well, that's still open for discussion." Gohan said. "Until we've assessed the situation, we can't assume anything. I mean, I've never met a Saiyan that didn't want to take over the world!"

Goku shook his head. "This is incredible. And Vegeta actually said we could come as well?"

"Yes." Again, Bulma nodded. "He said all of Earth's Saiyan's were welcome. I think he's a little bit lonely, but don't repeat that. Oh, and Marron is welcome as well. So Bra won't be lonely."

"I doubt if Krillin will let her go." Goten said. "He's pretty protective. And don't forget Eighteen."

"True. But, we can ask." Bulma told them. "The best I can figure, once they secure the planet, we should be able to leave three days from now."

"Wow." Goku said. It was apparent that he was still in a state of disbelief. "A planet of Saiyans? And I have a brother?"

"Yes, dad." Gohan said shaking his head. "Get a grip."

"Right now, we need to remember what all these Saiyans are capable of. I mean, they did say something about trading slaves? That can't be good." Goten reminded them.

"I can assure you, Vegeta will not be trading slaves!" Bulma said sternly. "With technology, they can find other ways of making a profit!"

But, Gohan had his doubts. "This is their way of life. Perhaps change is not possible."

"We won't know unless we go and try to help." Goku said. "Vegeta needs us, whether he'll admit it or not. And as many times as he's fought by my side, I won't let him down now."

"Great!" Goten said. "Then we're going!"

"Oh, yes." Goku said, feeling more than a little twitch of excitement. "I wouldn't miss this for the world."

Underneath the castle were dozens of hidden tunnels. All created and masterminded by Drais for just such an occasion. And like the underground barracks, no one knew of the secret passages. If he weren't so damned angry, he would be loving this.

Perrin was his only hope at this point. He had been the one person who had not abandoned Drais for this new King. Now, he must find the young Saiyan and hope that he would be willing to go a few steps farther.

Dressed in normal Saiyan armor, the one-time King exited through a side door and out onto the planet. Having his hair tucked inside a training helmet, he was inconspicuous. Knowing that Perrin was young and foolish, there were only a few places he would try and hide.

One, being inside the castle. But, Drais had checked each avenue and found nothing.

Second, it would be outside, near one of the many training chambers, or perhaps up into the mountains. But, that would be too noticeable. The terrain on Tragonis was relatively flat, except for the few mountainous areas. But, a journey into the hillside would be obvious.

Taking each step as if he had nothing to hide and hoping no one glanced into his eyes, Drais walked forward.

One by one, the training chambers were checked. Apparently, Vegeta or perhaps Kelon had put the planet in a state of full alert. Therefore, there was no time for training. All soldiers were to be in their positions for possible attack.

"Perrin?" Drais called softly as he opened each door. Chamber after chamber was checked. But nothing.

"Damn." Drais said out lout. "Where are you?"

A rustle of dirt caught his attention. Spinning around, he saw Perrin, hiding in a nearby wooded area.

Drais hurried over. "You are a fool to be out here." He scolded.

"Forgive me, my Lord." Perrin said, showing proper respect. "But, they have been searching everywhere. I did not know what else to do."

"Is there a chance that other soldiers could still be on my side? We need manpower." Drais replied.

Perrin nodded. "I have a few contacts. Soldiers that have been helping me stay one step ahead of Kelon and his army. Yes, my Lord. They will be faithful to only you."

Drais was pleased. "Then, let's gather these forces."

"But, my King, what are we to do?" Perrin asked. "There are probably less than a dozen or so soldiers. We cannot fight against such a force as Kelon has organized."

Drais smiled. "We are not going to fight." He said coldly. "At least not on Tragonis."

Not wanting to be caught, they hurried back to the underground bunker. Perrin was able to get in touch with his allies and arrangements were made. Although, Perrin was skeptical. "Sir, this is very risky. I fear for your safety."

"Don't lie, boy. You fear for your own safety." Drais scolded. "But, no matter. The only way you will live is if I live. So, you are forced to be loyal to me."

"Sir…" Perrin began, but was stopped.

"Don't think me a fool." Drais said. "I will watch my own back."

Vegeta stood, watching from a large balcony, high up in the castle. Down below were the majority of soldiers as well as second and third class Saiyans. All there to catch a glimpse of their new King. Their true King.

Very few of the new Saiyans had ever lived on the original Vegeseti. Only a handful of warrior having survived its destruction. But, the legends were there. The first King Vegeta had ruled with a strong arm, but a fair one. The planet had prospered until Frieza came along. No one, not even the King could fight against such an evil. That is when everything went horribly wrong.

Now, Vegeta stood tall, proudly crossing his arms across his chest. By his side were his Elite Saiyan forces. Commander Kelon, Niekko, Arello, and Domia. Four strong and loyal fighters ready to obey and protect the King.

The General stepped forward. "It is time!" He said loudly. "Our people have been given back the heart of the Saiyan race!" He waved his sword high in the air. "Before you, I present our new and rightful King!" He moved back somewhat, allowing full view of Vegeta.

"King Vegeta!" Kelon shouted. Each of the soldiers bowed, and then drew their swords, placing them above Vegeta's head as he walked closer to the edge of the balcony.

Down below everyone cheered. Those who had never known anything but Drais seemed to embrace their new and royal leader.

Vegeta's face was stone cold as he took the sword from Kelon and brought it up in front of him, holding it high in the sky. "I christen this planet….VEGESETI!" He bellowed, feeling a strong sense of pride and honor at realizing his lifelong dream. The cheers were enormous as he held the sword proudly.

However, not far off, Drais watched. He was filled with more fury than he had ever imagined. "It is time we made our move." He said. Behind him were Perrin and nine other Saiyan soldiers. All having vowed their allegiance to Drais.

"Yes, my Lord." Perrin said. "Shall I commence the destruction sequence?"

Drais nodded. "Board the ship." He commanded. "Once the mechanism is detonated, we will only have fifteen minutes to escape the atmosphere." He smiled. In a short while, Drais and his faithful soldiers would be the only living Saiyans in the Universe.

Except for the ones on Earth. And it was time for the legacy of Vegeta, his entire bloodline, to be wiped from the face of the world.
