Prologue dedicated to eshfemme who wanted to make me stop writing but in reality encouraged me to write as much as I can and to tsuyamono who kindly told eshfemme off before I could give him/her a piece of my mind and encouraged me even more than eshfemme (*gasp*, how's that possible?!) to continue writing. Thanks! ^_^

154, 155, 156, 157…

The sounds of rattled breathes and strangled sobs were the only proof she was still alive. Her tear soaked face was numb with cold, her hands covered in open blisters. The girl's once fresh uniform was tarnished with grime and mud was smeared all over her throbbing arms.

158, 159, 160, 161…

“NO MORE!” With an agonizing scream from her already raw throat, she let go of the metal pole and fell face down onto the drenched ground, pounding it with all the might her weak fists could muster.

“WHY?!” She screamed into the still night, her vision clouded by the pounding rain.

Why… why… why… Her echoing voice taunted her. Even the nearby woods seemed to be laughing at the pathetic creature. Because, they answered the girl in her mind, you're a worthless loser! Because you're everything you ever fought against! A failure, a whore, a sorry excuse for a human! Look what you've become! Even your own father doesn't want you anymore, sending you here. Just look what you've become!

“No… no… daddy loves me… not a failure, not a loser…” The girl whispered, assuring herself that she wasn't worthless, wasn't pathetic. “Not a failure, not a loser…” She repeated over and over, screaming for the voices to stop, screaming for the truth to stop.

All her life flashed before her eyes, her innocent smiles, her first day at middle school, new friends, new adventures, sleepovers, camping in her backyard, good grades, first crushes… her first day in high school, new friends, new adventures, parties, getting high in her backyard, failing grades, forced relationships…

“Not a failure, not a loser…” She whispered once more before the cold darkness engulfed her and took the memories away.

And so began the story of Bulma Briefs, loving child, troubled teen, Riverwood Military Academy cadet.

A/N: Just a little teaser of what's to come… if it will. Tell me if I should continue this or not and we'll see where this goes… No promises ^_^

Oh and this is a huge revision of VMA… nothing but the setting etc. are the same and the writing will be much better if the story continues.
