"Rock Steady (Intro)"

A real love survives a rock steady vibe

A real love survives a rock steady vibe

Bulma had been feeling more and more restless lately. There was an ever present feeling of unease just at the back of her mind. Something that she just could not put her finger on for the life of her. It felt as though she needed to be doing something but she just did not know what. She straightened her hair one last time before walking out of her bedroom.

"Let's see buy new dress for date with Yamcha, check. Finish the Blue Prints for the new space module for Dad, check. Buy groceries for the bottomless pit that now resides here, check. Make sure he hasn't blown him self up in the last few days, check. Well that's all I can think of what am I missing?" Bulma wondered out loud.

"Try your sanity woman, or wait you would have had to be sane at one point to ever miss it. Do you always talk to your self or is today special?" Vegeta asked baiting her.

"Vegeta, just shut the hell up I'm not in the mood for your crap today. So unless you want to starve I suggest you shut up or no lunch for you." She said glaring at him defiantly.

"Hrrmph." He replied scowling at her. "Just be quick about it."

Bulma rolled her eyes and walked down stairs to the kitchen to make his royal high-ass food. She sighed at started making a mountain of sandwiches. It was the same thing everyday. She would work in the lab, fix Vegeta food, and have a verbal sparring match with him. She just couldn't figure out what his problem was. Though the last few weeks she had to admit he just didn't have the same fire as he use to. The few times he was not recklessly pounding the G.R. she would see him sitting by him self out side in a tree. He would just stare off into space for an hour before going back to training.

Vegeta had finished his food quickly as always leaving Bulma in the kitchen alone chewing thoughtfully on the last sandwich.

`Maybe he's just lonely.' She mused `I mean everyone needs a friend, right? Maybe I should try being nicer to him.' Her thoughts were interrupted as her Dad walked in the room.

"Hi Dad anything interesting happen?" she asked hoping for something to alleviate the tedium.

"Not much sweetie. I'm still trying to get the long distance communicator to work on the new ship. I want to make it where as no matter how far some one goes in the galaxy it will still be able to reach earth. Normal wavelengths just aren't strong enough. Nothing in the universe travels fast enough to reach clear across the galaxy in seconds."

"Yea, not many things travel faster then the speed of light." She joked.

"Bulma you're a genius!"

"Thanks dad but how in particular today?" she asked confused at his outburst.

"We can't send messages quickly using sound waves right? Well what if we encoded it into light waves so that the message would travel at light speed to be decoded by one of our computers. We could even program to scan for messages in space and then transmit them back at light speed. Sure it is not infinite in reach but this will go thousands times further then any we've had previously. Also we can bounce it off of known satellite and others the ship plants so it had even greater reach." Her dad beamed proudly. He gave her thanks once again and ran to go work on his newest invention.

Bulma smiled to her self. She was so proud the way her dad could come up with so many solutions so quickly. She leaned back in her chair and stretched. She could finally get some R n' R in before her date tonight and she planed on making the most of it.

Her and Yamcha had been dating since they were kids and she was happy with her relationship. They would hang out and joke around together or go to his house and snuggle on the couch. Their relationship was rock steady, nothing changed it just always was. She did have the feeling that Yamcha was getting restless about something. Maybe he had finally decided that he wanted their relationship to get stronger. At least that's what Bulma hoped. She wasn't as young as she use to be and was hoping for marriage soon. She hadn't wanted to push him but she had become a bit restless her self; wanting more from their relationship and she thought he finally felt it too.

She pictured her self going down the aisle wearing a the perfect dress with all her friends there.

`Yes,' she thought. Things are going to change soon for the better. That has to be the weird feeling I've been having. It's anticipation of the future. She smiled again satisfied with her train of thought and absently brushed away the fact that the weird feeling was still there.
