Chapter 3

Videl was the first of the women to venture to speak with me. I had always admired her. She was gutsy and strong and I always wished I could be as tough as her. “Please to meet you Holly, I'm Videl, Pan's mother, Gohan's wife.”

I took her outstretched hand and shook it. “Nice to meet you.”

Bulma smiled and stepped us as well. “And I'm Bra's mother, Bulma.”

“She is my mate.” Vegeta cut in making sure I knew that she was to be respected.

I got the hint and bowed from the waist before looking up at her. “Your majesty.” I figured it was better to be overly respectful than to risk pissing off Vegeta or Bulma for that matter. I'm not stupid.

Bulma smiled and clapped her hands together. “She is so polite! Are you sure she's saiyan?”

I felt my jaw clench involuntarily. I dreaded them finding out that in my own dimension I was not a saiyan. Luckily her question was met with a variety of snorts and `heys!' from the other saiyan and half saiyan occupants of the room. Chi chi who had been watching me suspiciously finally stepped forward to glare at me while looking me over like a piece of bad meat.

My skin crawled and my heart sank. I was hoping that in this AU Goku would be single then I could flirt with him without fearing repercussions involving heart break and a frying pan. But her being here immediately shot down the possibility that every fantasy I ever had involving my hero would come true. I was trying hard not to growl when she finally spoke. “I'm Chi chi.” She said simply.

“Hi.” I bit off.

“Enough chatter! Is the food ready?” Vegeta snapped.

Bulma glared at him and threw her arms in the air in what was eternal exasperation. “Yes it's all out and ready in the kitchen.” I heard the word food and I bolted for the kitchen hurriedly. I sat down at the table before any of the others entered the kitchen and when they did they looked at me quizzically.

“Sorry.” I said giving a nervous lopsided grin. “It's just at home if you don't hurry to get your food there might not be any left when you get there.”

Chi chi gave a half hearted laugh. “I think we all understand that.”

“Saiyan definitely saiyan.” Radditz commented as they all sat down to eat as well.

I tried to make conversation as was my dinner time habit, but these guys hadn't seemed to have mastered the art of talking and eating at the same time.

I complimented Bulma, Chi chi, and Videl on dinner. Then I felt a tug and Pan was persistently pulling on my pant leg. “Will you play with us now?” She asked.

“Sure.” I said excitedly. “What should be play?”

“Tag!” Pan shouted giddily. Bra frowned at her.

“No fair you can fly!”
I grinned. “Well then there will be a no flying rule. Ok Pan?”

Pan's face fell for an instant. “Oh, ok. Let's go!” She said instantly perking up. “Not it!” We all shouted at once and then giggled. I stood up and ushered the little ones outside where less damage could be done. Before we exited the room I asked, “Anyone else wanna play?”

The room was dead silent as they all stared at me as if I had three heads and I shrugged.

After I left the room Radditz looked at Vegeta. “Ok that was the weirdest thing I've ever seen a saiyan do.”

“Are we sure she didn't fall on her head like Einstein here.” Turles said nodding to Goku.

Goku's face fell and he growled. “Hey!”

“Saiyan or not, she was smart enough to get out of here before clean up which means all of you are stuck helping with the dishes!” Chi chi said as the women nodded in agreement and stood up to start cleaning.

Nappa grimaced and Gohan chuckled. Through the window they watched Holly run and play with the little girls as they reluctantly dried dishes. The only way the women would keep feeding them was if they pulled their weight around the house every now and then. Piccolo and Vegeta somehow managed to get out of it and sat stoically at the table just listening.

“I still say she can't be a saiyan. No saiyan female would ever take time away from training to…play.” Nappa commented with his words dripping disgust.

“She did say she was from another dimension. Saiyan attitudes may be very different from the ones of our former planet Vegeta-sei.” Gohan said matter of fact ally.

Chi chi slammed her hands down on the counter and sighed irritably. “Or you're all just over reacting and she is just happy!”

Radditz raised an eyebrow at his sister in law's observation. “Happy?”

“Yeah, happy. You know like Goku.”

Bulma shook her head. “Don't even try to explain it to these guys Chi chi, it'll never get through.”

“Well whatever she is, she's gorgeous.” Trunks blurted out. Goten elbowed him as everyone turned to glare at him.

“What?”

“Don't even go there brat.” Vegeta ordered shaking his head at Trunks. “She is a full blooded saiyan her ideas about courtship are different than your own.”

“Which means it's a good idea if she stays at the barracks.” Bulma added.

“What?!” Radditz, Nappa, and Turles asked in unison.

The barracks, I would soon learn, was a large manor off in the wilderness where the three single, full blooded saiyans lived. It was their saiyan bachelor pad. They each had their own set of rooms and there were extra for when the others came to train for a couple days. They had a gravity chamber, a virtual battle chamber, a huge kitchen, and a stock room full of medical supplies, including senzu beans and they were out in the wilderness where they could be themselves without drawing too much unwanted attention. Bulma's wealth allowed them many comforts that they had never known under the thumb of Frieza.

“Well we don't know how long she's going to be around she needs a place to stay. The barracks only seem the natural choice. She'll be able to learn from you.” Bulma continued. She had earned the saiyans respect as their queen and they were all familiar with her wrath so they just grumbled in acceptance.

When the dishes were done the fighters agreed to meet tomorrow for training once again and to aces their new ally.

Radditz and Nappa, what with their amazing manners left abruptly afterwards leaving Turles to collect me.

Everyone left walked out into the yard to see myself and the two young girls giggling on the ground. Turles grumbled to himself as he stared incredulously at me. I stopped giggling instantly as the look in his eye deeply offended me. I was no one's misfortune and I disliked being treated like a disease. I frowned deeply at him and his grumbling stop although his glare continued.

`Great, I finally wind up in the DBZ dimension only to get stuck with the grumpy saiyans.'

“It's been decided that you will stay with us at the barracks. So hurry up I'm leaving.”

I continued to frown at him, but stood up and grabbed my bag.

“Holly will you come back and play with us again?” Bra asked expectantly pulling on my pant leg.

I smiled down at her and nodded. “You bet.”
I gave a bow to Vegeta and Bulma. “Thank you all for the great meal.” I said addressing the girls. They smiled in appreciation. I heard Turles take off behind me and I rolled my eyes and followed.

“Her presence here should be an interesting experience.” Piccolo commented as he watched us go. Goku nodded in knowing agreement.
