Chapter 5
When we arrived we found the others already waiting for us. All saiyans present and accounted for. I didn't miss the look of shock some of them wore at seeing me in training clothes. “What are those?”
Vegeta asked with a look of arrogant disgust at my uniform.
“It's my uniform. My belt symbolizes my rank or progression in my martial artist studies.” I explained.
“Doesn't it get in the way of your tail?” Gohan asked matter o factally. I gulped and slipped my tail around my waist under the belt. Somehow it fit perfectly. “Nope it actually protects it.”
“Interesting.” Gohan said in his scholarly voice.
“Time to see what you can do.” Vegeta said taking charge.
I stood tall, I felt nervous, but determined it was like all the belt tests I had endured before, but somehow I knew this was going to be far more intense.
“First off speed test. Who wants to race?” Vegeta asked the others.
`Crap! I can't run for shit.' I thought squeezing my fists nervously.
“I'm up for it.” Trunks said stretching his legs.
“Alright then, Holly you will race Trunks to West City and back as fast as you can.”
I gulped again. “Running?”
Vegeta nodded. Goten chuckled. “Trunks is the fastest so you better be prepared Holly.”
`SHIT! Double shit!' I stood next to Trunks preparing for the race and my impending disgrace. I was used to embarrassing myself, but this was going to be ten times worse than any humiliation of my life.
“Go!” was the simple word that tolled my fall. Trunks took off like an ultrasonic shot and I with a delayed double take reaction took off after him at not even close to his speed. I pushed myself as best I could focusing all my energy on my feet trying to use it to my advantage. I was faster than normal, actually I was incredibly fast in this universe, but nothing compared to Trunks' awesome speed. I was almost there when I saw him fly back past me. I pushed myself harder and gained some distance, but by the time I returned to the group Trunks was already back and standing there like he had never even moved. I was a little winded, but nothing major and nothing hurt, but my pride. I glared at his punk ass smirk of victory and didn't dare to look at the others.
“Not bad.” Was the comment that finally came breaking the silence bearing down upon the group? It was Goku ever optimistic. I smiled at him thankful for his support, but I heard a snort from Nappa.
“Are you kidding me I can move faster than that? She can't be a saiyan.” He said snidely. I was sensitive to insults directed at my person especially from macho oafs so for one of those rare moments in my life I allowed myself to lose my temper.
Without warning to anyone, myself included, I hauled off and punched Nappa, square in the jaw with so much force he flew across the wasteland into the nearest group of plateaus. “Not a saiyan huh?” I shouted as I had punched him and as I saw the plateaus crumble down at the impact of his body my jaw dropped in my own astonishment.
“Woah!” Goten mumbled astonished. Gohan, Trunks, and Goku just stared wide eyed while Radditz, Turles, and Vegeta just stared seemingly unaffected by the display.
I closed my mouth and composed myself, my anger had been released and I was my normal self again. I pulled my gi top straight and nodded. “Take that you big lummox.” I mumbled under my breath.
“Points for knocking Nappa off his feet and into next Tuesday.” Turles said smirking at me.
I gave him a cool glare of `yes I know I rock.'
“Nice she has the element of surprise.” Goku said enthusiastically. I smiled. “Yes I am quite surprising.”
“Alright, but can you control that force in a fight?” Vegeta questioned.
I looked right at him and commonly said, “9 out of 10 times I have the patience of a saint and great self control. Nappa I would have to say is that rare tenth time.”
Vegeta stared for a moment before replying, “If that's true than you have more self control than the rest of us.”
I let a smile pass my lips at his comment and then saw Trunks and Goten grin and high five. “Yeah Nappa got his ass handed to him!”
Vegeta smirked at their statement; he as well feeling like Nappa always needed a little punch to know his place. My smile widened as Nappa emerged from the rubble dirty and disoriented. I couldn't hold back my chuckle and instantly Turles and Radditz were staring at me again.
Nappa returned glaring at me like mad. I could tell from the way he was clenching my fists that he wanted to belt me, but Vegeta kept eyeing him with a royal stare that silently said I was not to be touched.
Goku immediately defusing the situation with his cute nature piped up with, “So who wants to spar?”
I knew how to spar, but given I wasn't the best at it in my dimension. Just my luck I get paired up with Gohan. I was pretty sure I was going to die.
So the day went on and I didn't die, but I was more bruised than an old banana. I had sparred against Gohan, Goten, and Trunks. I didn't completely disgrace myself.
My martial arts training faired me well and I already knew my strength was increased tenfold in this dimension. It was my kamikaze tactics, little quirks, lack of knowledge on energy attacks that were my down fall. Luckily they hadn't turned super saiyan on me. I was pretty sure they didn't expect me to be strong enough to defend against the might of a super saiyan.
I could barely remain standing, I was so exhausted, as the others debated going to use the gravity room at the barracks or not. I mused to myself, `maybe I could become a super saiyan.'
Goku stole a glance at me and smiled when he noticed my resilience. I stood tall, my gi filthy, my hair ruffled. You would never know just by looking that I was exhausted.
“I think we can call it a day.” He said.
Vegeta nodded in slight agreement. “Alright.” He turned to stare at me and I froze. “Don't saiyans use energy techniques where you come from?”
I bit my lip and scratched my head nervously. “Not often, no. We prefer a more personal type of combat.” I lied through my teeth; no one where I came from knew a thing about energy attacks. Vegeta continued to glare at me.
“Well someone's going to have to teach you.”
With that he said good day to the others and he and Trunks flew off soon to be followed by the Sons. Then I and the three bachelor saiyans headed for the barracks. When we touched down outside the compound Turles watched me as I trudged slowly to the door.
He had covertly watched me all day. He was in awe of my strength and skill. I didn't think so, but to them I was the best female fighter they'd encountered since 18 was evil. Sure my energy attacks were lacking, but I had lots of fighting tricks that Turles had never seen. His style of fighting was always straight on, head first, blow them to bits, it was the way most saiyans went at fighting. She had a style he couldn't explain and it baffled and intrigued him to no end.
Down below….
“She is a strong one.” Captain Ginyu commented as he watched the happening on Earth in Babidi's crystal ball.
“Yes, but she lacks fighter common sense, her energy attacks leave much to be desired.” Cell added.
“It doesn't matter, as long as she becomes a weakness we can exploit her. The less power she has the easier it will be for us.”

“Oh I hurt.” I mumbled as I trudged into the barracks headed straight for my room.
“That's because your body is your best weapon and shield.” Turles mentioned covertly watching me from the doorway as I reached the corner.
I looked back at him and glared. “So are you gloating or what?”
He smirked, that same old smirk at me and I rolled my eyes. “No I am merely pointing out the obvious. You need to learn better energy techniques so you don't have to get in so close to fight.”
I smiled sardonically. “Well forgive me, but I like my fights up close and personal.” I said sauntering up to him with the last of my energy to look him in the eye and wink. “A good honest fight is becoming a lost art you know?”
Turles was stuck when he looked into my eyes it was impossible to look away and that scared him, he saw in them a twinkle a flicker of blue fire that was brief and intense and left a shine that made him weak; something he detested being. He shook his head and stepped back.
I surmised it was because I had successfully intimidated him. I turned around and began to march away and as I turned the corner I heard, “Radditz and I can help you with your energy attacks. Tomorrow, gravity chamber, 9 o'clock don't be late.”
“Do you assume that I will just go because you think I need to?” I asked glancing back around the corner, but he was gone and I was confused. I shrugged and sighed. “Whatever. I guess it couldn't hurt.”
As Turles listened to me ascend the stairs Radditz came out of the next room. “Why did you drag me into this?”
Turles just gave him a hard stare. “Got a problem with training her?”
“Yeah, I don't like being a baby sitter to some weak little brat.”
“I believe Nappa would beg to differ about her weakness Radditz. Besides you tell me that you didn't see potential in her fighting abilities earlier today?”
“Sure I did, but she's so far behind, we were purging planets when we were her age and she can't even control energy attacks.”
“Things are different in her dimension, besides technically here in this dimension she's the only full blooded female saiyan, we want her to be the best right?” Turles gave Radditz a convincing look and Radditz nodded.
“Oh well.” Radditz mumbled as he stretched and walked away like a big cat. “At least it will be entertaining.”
Turles rolled his eyes, but he was thinking, `Yes, it will.'
