Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the painting Starry Night. I just borrowed the title because it seems to fit this chapter nicely. I do own a $15 print of the painting and have it proudly displayed in my living room in a cheap looking poster frame. I couldn't afford a nice frame, so obviously suing me would gain you nothing. Also any comments regarding homosexuality are how I see the characters reacting to the given situation and do not reflect my own personal opinion. This actually applies to all content in this story. You should know this, but one person so far has already disproved that belief.

Chapter 24: Starry Night
"Come on. I want to show you something," Vegeta said as he stepped out the sliding glass door.
Bulma kicked off her house shoes before joining him on the balcony. Grinning mischievously, he tossed the blanket over one shoulder before wrapping an arm around her waist.
"Where are we going?" she shrieked and tightened the grip around his neck as they levitated into the night sky.
"You'll see." The flight lasted a whole two seconds, and Bulma looked at him in confusion as they landed. Vegeta set her down and then proceeded to spread the blanket out before pulling her against him.
"Now, where were we?" he whispered before softly kissing her neck. Any reservations she had about the location were soon lost to the skillful caress of his lips.

Goku and Krillin clumsily strolled down the busy downtown street laughing intermittently at nothing. Well, it appeared to be nothing to the people they passed on the sidewalk, but to them it was the funniest thing ever to happen.
"Oh man, I still can't believe it. I've never been kicked out of a pub before," Krillin exclaimed as he held his side and took in a deep breath of much needed air.
"Yeah, me either. They actually kicked us out," Goku chuckled, and his companion just smiled.
"Well, we did break a pool stick. I don't think stuff like that usually makes them happy."
"Hey, if you had just let me play, it wouldn't have happened."
"It was my turn, dumb ass," Krillin defended.
"No it wasn't."
"Yes it was. I went after the guy with red hair. Your turn was after mine."
"Oh yeah, I did go after you, huh?" Goku laughed as he scratched the back of his head. Krillin just shook his head as the two continued down the street.
"So where to now?" the bald man asked, and Goku shrugged. "How about this place?" he asked as they passed a bar that had a small group of women standing out front.
"Sure."
The two went inside and would've realized how out of place they were had they been more sober. Instead they thought they'd just entered heaven. Nothing but women were in this little bar. The men were oblivious to all the strange looks sent their direction as they sat down at the bar and motioned for the bartender to come over.
"You two lost?" she asked as she approached the two. Goku and Krillin looked at each other in confusion before turning back toward her.
"No. Why? Do we look lost or something?" Goku asked with a drunken grin. She sighed as she began wiped down the bar with a towel. It was then that Krillin began to pay more attention to his surroundings. It wasn't just that they were the only men in the building that suddenly caught his attention. It was the fact that some of the women were more than a little friendly toward each other. He elbowed Goku.
"Dude, this is a bar for dykes," he tried to whisper to his friend. Unfortunately, he wasn't as quiet as he had hoped.
"Excuse me?!" a woman not too far from them yelled as she stood up and walked over to them. Krillin held his hands up in surrender as the woman towered over him with a menacing look on her face.
"I'm sorry. There's been a bit of a misunderstanding here. I meant no disrespect," the short man quickly responded.
Goku was completely unaware of the argument next to him. His eyes had landed on a couple on the other side of the bar. They were kissing each other passionately and were completely oblivious to the world around them.
"Oh shit, Krill, look at that!" he exclaimed. "Unbelievable," he mumbled as he sat there, jaw-dropped and drooling at the spectacle before him.
"Oh that is it!" the woman next to Krillin yelled as she grabbed both by the collars of their shirts and tossed them out onto the sidewalk. Neither of them fought it. Krillin was too embarrassed, and Goku was too hypnotized from the site in front of him. He finally came to his senses when lots of feminine laughter hit his ears. He noticed Krillin was already standing and had a hand extended to help him up. He accepted the offer and was clumsily hauled onto his feet. The two laughed as they began walking down the sidewalk again.
"Man, I can't believe that!" Goku exclaimed.
"Of all the places to drink in this city, we managed to find that place," Krillin laughed, but Goku just shook his head.
"We got kicked out of two places tonight! Ha ha! Oh, that was great. Hey, you want to try for three?" he asked excitedly as he turned to his companion.
"No, I think two is enough for tonight," Krillin answered. He sighed when he noticed the fallen face of his friend. "Hey man, there's always tomorrow."
"Sounds like a plan," Goku chuckled as the two continued the long walk back to his apartment.

The world exploded from within as every muscle in her body spasmed in the euphoria that engulfed her. She would've screamed but her vocal cords appeared to be frozen in the intensity. Two powerful hands clenched her hips almost painfully as they rode out the last waves of orgasm before she collapsed upon a chest made of rock. Once the quaking subsided, Bulma slowly lied down next to him on the blanket as she got her breathing under control. The two laid there for several silent minutes staring blankly at the clear night sky before she glanced at Vegeta and giggled.
"I have to admit, this is the first time I've ever had sex outside. I'm just glad I don't live in one of those high-rise complexes where people can access the roof without flying," she said with a grin as she gazed back at the stars.
"Humans are always talking about nature and the environment. I find it funny that no one takes the time to properly appreciate it," Vegeta said with a smirk.
"Actually, there are laws against it," she sighed, and he shook his head.
"Figures." The couple sat it silence for a few moments staring into space.
"Where was Vegetasei?" He was silent for a while, and she wondered if it was a mistake to bring it up.
"You wouldn't be able to see it from here this time of the year due to the rotation of the systems, but if it were within range, it would be right about there, next to that small star cluster," he answered as he pointed toward an area of the sky just above the horizon.
"What was it like?" Bulma asked as she rolled onto her side to face him.
"Our planets resembled in many aspects. Same basic setup: mountains, oceans, trees. The gravity was stronger, and the atmosphere was denser, but overall they were quite similar," he began.
"Maybe that's why I can't stand being here," he added more as a whisper to himself than an actual response to her inquiry. Bulma felt her stomach knot up at the thought. She knew his planet had been destroyed but couldn't begin to imagine what it felt like to live in a place that reminded you of your lost home every single day. She tentatively reached out her hand and wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. He closed his eyes when the contact was made, and Bulma noticed his throat move as he swallowed. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at her. She was lying on her side, propped up by her elbow as she smiled at him sympathetically.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want, but I was wondering how it happened. All Goku said was that it was supposedly hit by a meteor but that you didn't believe that."
"That's what we were told, the small handful of us that weren't on the planet when it happened, but I know Freeza was lying. My people could've destroyed a fucking meteor if it were coming toward the planet," he growled as the anger began to swell within him.
"Freeza?" Bulma asked.
"He's the leader of that quadrant of the empire. After Vegetasei was destroyed, the rest of the Saiyajin: myself, Radditz, and Napa, were incorporated in his army. It was either that or death, and I had to live long enough to seek my revenge," he said with a demented chuckle. Uneasiness began to spread over Bulma as she could see where this was going.
"What did you have to do?" she asked, hoping to disprove her theory. Vegeta just sighed and glanced at her.
"You're an intelligent woman," he said, pausing a moment before he continued. "What purpose do you think we served, having the power we did? Freeza is a power-hungry maniac only concerned with expanding his control over the known universe. We conquered, we destroyed, we did whatever we were told to because it meant our asses if we didn't." Bulma only nodded in response. What else could she do? This was a lot to digest at one time.
"Wait! You said Freeza IS power-hungry. Is that guy still out there?" she asked as panic began to shoot through her. Vegeta nodded. "What if he comes here?"
"I doubt that," he said with a laugh. "This is considered a frontier area. Very few inhabitable planets and too far away from anything to establish any worthwhile trade routes. That's part of the reason I decided to stay here. There was little risk of Freeza discovering me."
"So how did you get away from him? It sounds like he wouldn't have just let you go," Bulma asked as she rested her head on his chest and wrapped an arm around his waist.
"He thinks I'm dead," he whispered, and she lifted her head to look at him.
"Really? You faked your own death? How'd you do it?" she asked excitedly. He just glared at her.
"Damn it, I am a warrior. This is not something I'm proud of, but it was my only option at the time," he growled.
"I'm sorry," Bulma answered before softly kissing him. When she pulled away, she noticed his face had softened and decided to ask him again. "So what happened?"
"Shit," he chuckled. "I think you're the most stubborn person I've ever met."
"I know I am. So, will you please tell me?" she asked as she stuck out her bottom lip. He watched her a few moments before shaking his head.
"Fine. We were on a purging mission. The planet had advanced technology that Freeza wanted. They wouldn't share so we were sent in to destroy everyone except a few scientists and bring them and the technology back with us. It was supposed to be simple, but apparently they had anticipated such a strike and caught us off guard. Napa and Radditz were killed, completely incinerated by a new weapon that we were unaware of. It had a targeting system that was able to lock onto high levels of ki. Our superior speed meant nothing against it. Napa and Radditz were taken out before I figured out why they were unable to avoid the blasts. I had no idea if it would work or not, but I had to try. If I didn't make it off that rock, I would never have a chance to kill Freeza."
"So I lowered my ki and hid behind the crumbled remains of a building as a test, and they were unable to lock onto my position. I stayed there long enough to come up with a plan. I would need to take out as many of them as possible in one quick attack. Unfortunately there were just too many of them. When I blasted a large group of them, others were able to target my position. I lowered my ki to almost nothing as I jumped into a ravine and just barely evaded their attacks."
"That was when I realized I wasn't going to be able to fight my way out of there. If they hadn't been standing in a huge clearing, I could have snuck around and took them out one at a time, but I had no way to sneak up on them without flying or doing something else that uses ki. The only way I was getting off that planet alive was to abandon the mission, and Freeza would not be pleased with that. That's when it hit me. What if he thought we were all killed? Hell, that was probably the bastard's intention all along."
"I captured a grazing creature while in the ravine. It was similar to what you call cows here. I flared my ki for a moment, and when I saw the energy wave coming, I threw it into it and took off on foot so I wouldn't be hit as well. I hid behind a group of boulders and watched as they came running over to see if they had finally got me. I almost laughed. They were congratulating each other all because they found the charred remains of something. You'd think with all that technology, they'd have a more scientific way of examining remains," he chuckled. "Maybe they just assumed it was me since the gun was able to lock onto it."
"I snuck off on foot and was able to get onboard of their ships without anyone noticing, since they were all off celebrating their victory. Of course it had cloaking capabilities since it was built by such a technologically advanced race. No one was unable to detect any ships leaving the planet, and the locals sent transmission to Freeza that we were all dead." He stared ahead in thought for a moment before his mood turned serious again.
"A lot of good it's done me, though. I'm stranded here. Even if I do achieve Super Saiyajin, I'd have no way of leaving to kill Freeza."
"What about the ship you came here in?"
"Damaged during landing, and I soon realized this planet doesn't carry parts for ships at the local hardware stores. Heh, and I've seen those archaic things you humans take into space. They wouldn't get me where I needed to go."
"This is true, but I bet if Capsule Corp didn't have what you needed, they could build it especially if enough of your ship is still in tact to use for reference," she answered enthusiastically before softly adding, "You know, if you still want to leave that is." Vegeta regarded her as he soaked in this new information.
"That's good to know, but I'm not ready to leave just yet. I have a lot of training to do."

Yamcha walked Jenny to her door. "Thanks for tonight. I had fun," she said with a smile. She stepped closer to him so there was only about an inch between them before standing on her tip toes and kissing him softly on the lips. Yamcha's eyes widened in shock as he stood there frozen and not exactly sure what he should do.
'Do I kiss her back?' he wondered as his hands finally stopped hanging in the air and rested on her waist. 'I don't want her to figure out what's going on,' he decided just as her mouth slanted against his allowing the kiss to deepen. Her tongue invaded his mouth as her hands wrapped around his neck. 'Just keeping up appearances,' he told himself as he pulled her tightly against him. The roles quickly reversed as Yamcha took the lead, his tongue becoming the aggressor as his hands unconsciously began to wander.
He backed her up against the brickwork and leaned into her. As his aroused state became obvious to her, Jenny moaned in excitement and ground herself against it. Yamcha broke the kiss as he met her gaze with hooded eyes and smiled. It was then that the two realized they were still on her front porch.
"We should probably continue this somewhere more private, don't you think?" she asked seductively as she wet her lips. Yamcha was ready to toss her over his shoulder and haul ass to her room when logic slapped him in the face.
'What the hell am I doing? If I go through with this, I really will have cheated on Bulma, and Jenny will win.' "You know, it's pretty late, and I've got practice first thing in the morning. Maybe we should do this some other time," he responded.
Jenny looked at him in disbelief. 'He's actually turning me down,' she thought before smirking. She wound her arms around his waist and pulled him to her as she pressed herself into his aching groin once again. "Are you sure because it seems to me that you most definitely do want to come upstairs with me," she whispered before taking his bottom lip in her mouth and sucking on it roughly.
Yamcha closed his eyes in a poor attempt to block out the stimuli. 'Kami, I could take her just once and get my mind off of Bulma. No one would ever have to know…. No, No, No!' his mind screamed at him. He pulled away from her and turned toward the street as he ran his hands through his hair. He knew she was looking at him; he could feel it. He glanced over at her to find Jenny glaring at him with her hands on her hips.
"Yamcha, what's the problem?" Her voice sounded more exasperated than angry.
He turned to face her as he desperately tried to come up with some witty response, valid reason, anything, but his mind kept coming up blank. Yamcha sighed and turned his gaze toward a crack in the concrete. "Nothing's wrong. I just..I don't know. This just doesn't seem right. We don't even know each other," he said, surprising himself that the admission wasn't a complete lie. He met her gaze and was shocked at the expression on her face.
"Awe, that's so sweet," Jenny answered the same way one speaks to a child with a crush, and Yamcha's brow wrinkled at her irritating response. "There's no reason for you to be uncomfortable. It's not like it's our first time or something," she said innocently. Well, that ended any internal debate. He stormed up to her and pointed a finger in her face.
"You know damn well that I remember nothing about that night," he growled angrily. A car turned into the driveway and distracted the two. Both turned toward the blinding headlights that the driver was kind enough to leave on. A guy in torn jeans and a black t shirt hopped out of the passenger seat, and Yamcha heard Jenny groan. The younger guy trotted up to them as the car backed out of the driveway.
"Well, well. Looks like she found a new customer. How nice."
"Fuck you, asshole."
"No thanks, sis. Even I have my standards." He then turned toward Yamcha. "So you're the new flavor this week. My advice is to run, run and never look back," he laughed as he lit a cigarette.
Yamcha had to bite his lip to keep from laughing. 'If all else fails, I bet he'd help me.' "Well, it was nice to meet you…" He waited for his name as he extended his hand, but the guy appeared to have no interest in answering him.
"Jamie," Jenny answered as she rolled her eyes. "My brother," she informed, and Yamcha stuffed his hand back into his pocket.
"Right. Well, I'm gonna go. I'll talk to you later." With that, he took his opportunity to leave. Jenny turned and slapped her brother in the back of the head.
"You dickhead. What's your problem? Sobriety that much of a bitch for you?" she sneered. Jamie just laughed.
"Please. I just did him a favor. He was looking for an excuse to leave."
"I almost had him convinced to stay until you showed up." He laughed again.
"Right. No one ever had to convince me to stay with them. Dude's probably gay," he said offhandedly as he took another drag from his cigarette. He noticed the skeptical look on Jenny's face and smiled. "Nah, I doubt that. He's probably just smarter than you give him credit for," he chuckled as he walked into the house.
"Oooh, asshole!" Jenny balled up her fists and stomped her foot on the ground before turning to follow him inside.

Yamcha drove around the block once and parked across the street several houses down from Jenny's. As he quickly scanned over the street for anyone that might see him, he discovered much to his pleasure that the siblings had already gone inside. He took off his button down shirt, leaving only a t shirt on as he grabbed the bag out of the passenger seat. Inside was the pack of black pantyhose that he'd bought at the convenient store while circling the block. After tearing open the package, he stuffed the stockings into his pocket and shoved the packaging under the passenger seat. He glanced around one last time before getting out of his car and sneaking into her side yard as he did previously.
Yamcha leaned against the side of the house as he pulled the hose from his pocket and pulled the waistband over his head. He then crept around to the back of the house and proceeded to feel for ki. One person was in the room next to hers, probably her brother. The other was on the other side of the house. He grinned and levitated up to her window that had no screen over it. 'I wonder how many people have snuck into her room,' he thought before shaking his head. 'It doesn't matter.'
He grasped the bottom of the window and tried to open it. 'Shit! It's locked.' He sat there thinking when he noticed Jamie's window was open. 'But he's in there. That won't work.' He faintly heard the shower start up and smiled. He flew around to the front of the house and rang the doorbell. He quickly flew back to Jamie's bedroom window and sensed for ki. Success!
Yamcha poked his head in the window and looked around, making sure he hadn't made a mistake, but the room was empty. He grinned as he flew through the window when his entrance was suddenly halted. 'What the hell?'
He looked back to find that one of the legs of his hose had caught on a nail. He gave it a good yank, and the nail ripped through the thin material. Realizing he was taking way too much time, he ran for the door.
Jamie was turning back toward the staircase when Yamcha made it into the hallway. 'Shit!' He quickly dashed into Jenny's room and quietly shut the door as his stalker's brother began walking back up the stairs.
'Now, where to look?' He glanced around the room and decided to start with the closet. On the shelf above the clothes were piles of sweaters, a few blankets, and some old books. He turned his attention to the bottom of the closet were he found shoes….lots of them. "It must be a girl thing," he laughed as he searched behind the mountain of sandals, boots, and platform dress shoes.
There in the corner he found a stack of boxes. In the top one were ribbons, medals, and various other awards. He would have been curious about what they were for had he not been pressed for time. He set it aside and grabbed the next one: old dolls. The one below that had some diaries in it. 'These might be useful, but I don't have time to sit here and read them.' He opened the last box, and there it was.
Pictures of him in bed with Jenny, pictures of him out with Bulma, and newspaper clippings about him and the team he played for were in there. His forehead wrinkled as he dug through the items and slowly became more and more irritated. He found a white t shirt in there as well. He brought it to his nose and discovered it smelt just like his cologne. 'How the hell could she have gotten a hold of some of my clothes?' his mind screamed. 'Did I wear this to Krillin's party?' He couldn't remember, but decided not to dwell on it too much. He still needed to find something useful.
He sifted through all the contents of the box and realized there was not one single item that could prove his innocence. All the box proved was that he had one psycho fan. He closed the box and set it back in its resting place. Just then, Yamcha heard the floor boards creak as footsteps came closer. He scrambled to put everything back as it was and gave up as the steps stopped in front of Jenny's door. He closed the closet and quickly unlocked the window. He heard the doorknob turn and was just able to get the window open and jump to safety as Jenny entered her room.
Yamcha ran around to the side of the house and ripped the pantyhose off his head. "Oh shit! That was close," he panted. He only waited for a moment before running to his car and taking off.
Jenny stood in the middle of her room wearing only a towel as the water dripped from her hair onto the floor. She shivered as a draft hit her and drew her attention to the open window. "What the hell? I didn't have the window open." She walked over to the closet and flung the door open as she flinched, hoping no one would jump out at her. When she chanced a look, she realized it was empty and sighed. "Probably just Jamie trying to scare me," she decided as she threw on some clothes intent on giving her brother a thrashing.
That's it for this one. Sorry it took so long to get done. I ended up rewriting the entire thing, because I didn't like the way it turned out. L I'm trying to do better about updates though. Hopefully I'll have another one up soon.
