Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Seducing Vegeta ❯ Mall Rats! ( Chapter 9 )
A/N for Mall Rats! (Chapter IX)
I do not own DBZ. If I did, why would I be writing fanfiction about it? Doesn't make sense to me. I own the original characters, however! What now? I don't own "The Ring" either. There is a small reference to the movie in here, which is very small, but I just wanted to let that be known.
Has anyone ever been sued from writing a fanfic without a disclaimer? Ah, just wondering…
Well, I guess I'm on a roll (not!). Probably every three days or so I should be updating one of my fics. If not, I am most likely still working on it and it will be there within the week. If you have waited forever and ever, then e-mail me and remind me that people are reading my fanfiction and to get off my lazy ass and write! Like, for example, this update. I wasn't feeling too motivated, and I realized that none of my favorites had been updating their fics lately, so I was like, what the hell?
Now for a pretty okay chapter, but the next one will be really funny and really long and interesting. Stay tuned! This chapter is all in Vegeta's point of view, and the next will be mostly Bulma's. Do enjoy!

Chapter IX

How long does it take a woman to get ready?
Forever!
I had been waiting there for around 40 minutes when she finally said that she was out of the shower. What did she do in there, anyways? I rolled my eyes, and continued to wait. It really wasn't that bad if I meditated, but my concentration would always be broken by the onna's impatient screams, her loud and increasingly annoying music, and the echoing sound of her jumping around in her room. What went on in that woman's mind I didn't want to know, but I sure as hell wanted to know what the fuck was taking her so long!
I looked down at my ningen clothes, and I scoffed. I felt so…dirty. I was wearing baggy jeans, a black belt, and a black `wife beater' (as the woman called them) along with a white button-down shirt on top of it. I also wore this annoying chain around my neck with a dragon on it, which the woman had bought for me. She insisted that `it suited me', and I decidedly wore it occasionally. It wasn't that horrible looking, but it reminded me of Namek, and being killed by that ruthless Freiza.
My hands turned into fists, and I clenched and unclenched them. Damn, that Freiza! If he could see me now, he would be scared of his wits! I would become a super-saiyan, and have my revenge on Kakarott! He stole my own right to kill the one that tortured me so.
A thought prodded at the back of my mind. `At least he was killed by a saiyan.' I nodded at the thought and crossed my arms, thinking about Kakarott's story of how he defeated Freiza. I had been enraged when he had told us that he gave Freiza a second chance, so angry I almost killed him right there.
`That would not been honorable.' I thought. More thoughts prodded my mind. Who was that stupid boy who had arrived who had a chat with Kakarott? How could be become a super saiyan? What did he tell Kakarott that he wasn't telling me? I shrugged. I didn't really care anyway, as long as Freiza was dead, and we got a heads up on the androids arrival.
She finally came thumping down the stairs, and I looked up when I felt her presence in front of me. I stood.
"How do I look?" She asked, with a worried look on her face. Why did she ask me anyways?
"Fine. Now lets go! Lets just get this over with as soon as possible so I can get back to what I need to do." I said impassively, and stalked out the front door, listening to her fuming behind me. I smirked. She would be fuming even more by the end of this afternoon. I will have my fun, of course at the expense of my eardrums almost being burst by her incessant screeching.
"Thanks for the update, asshole! Lets go…" She swiveled around and sashayed outside, and viewed her actions. I cocked my eyebrow as she continued to look one way, and then the other.
"What is it, woman?" I asked impatiently while crossing my arms. She looked back at me with a death glare, and was angered that my stare didn't waver.
"I'm waiting for Maria, you dolt! Just calm your ass down and deal with it!" She said with her nose pointing up in the air. My temper flared, but I calmed myself. `All in good time, Vegeta, let her save her anger for later.' I smirked and levitated up in the air, and Bulma sat on a nearby bench.
After about ten minutes of waiting, she flipped out a titanium thing, and snapped it open, making my eye twitch in puzzlement. She pressed buttons on it and put it up to her ear. My face must have read, "What the fuck?" so she mouthed `cell phone' to me. I rolled my eyes and looked in the other direction, but my head snapped back when I heard the woman's loud war cry.
"MARIA! Where the hell are you?" Bulma yelled loudly, but I could tell that she wasn't being purposefully harsh to the Maria woman. I looked up at the sky, and ignored Bulma's conversation completely. I awoke from my trance when the woman prodded me on the shoulder. I lifted my lip with a growl, and she rolled her eyes.
"Maria said that we were supposed to meet her there! Urgh…. We are so late! Damnit!" She said while looking at the ground.
"Well, it figures. Considering how long you took in that room, thumping around like the stupid ningen that you are." I stated impassively, my eye contact with her growing more intense.
"STUPID?" I could see a flame flare in her aqua eyes, but she sighed, and turned away to compose herself. "We have to get there as soon as possible, so we might as well fly there. My capsule car wont be able to take us that far in such a short time, and I don't want to attract a lot of attention by using my helicopter. So, lets go." She stated shortly and calmly, with her nose up in the air, her eyes closed, and her arms crossed. I shrugged. It would be better if we got there faster so that I could continue my training. After all, andrioids were coming.
I slowly walked up to her and she stood her ground. She didn't make any move to want me to hold her so we could fly there, so I decided to have some fun. I stood extremely close to her, and I could feel her nervousness. I tilted my head to the side, maintaining my straight demeanor, and moved my foot harshly under her so that it kicked the feet out from beneath her.
She immediately fell backwards, her body in midair. I smirked as she was about to scream, and I caught her while squatting down and pounced into the air, her shoulders in the crook of my elbow and her calves on my opposite.
"VEGETA! What the hell was that for?!" She pounded on my shoulder relentlessly and I smirked.
"You obviously were stalling, and it didn't look like you knew what you were doing. I handled the situation efficiently, and as a bonus, I freaked you out." I said, my face turning serious again. She made a frustrated grunt and looked down on the city as we were flying to the other side of town.
"You fly differently than Yaumcha does…"
"Maybe because I am a saiyan warrior and he is a desert rat-ningen." I said calmly. I heard her growl, and it quickly diffused. After all, I was right. Wasn't I always? I heard her mumble something, but I didn't really care to ask her what about. I didn't really care about the woman's thoughts, so I didn't prod her for answers.
I saw the mall underneath us, and swiftly turned downward and charged quickly towards it. It released a small scream from the woman in the slight change in speed. She started flailing her arms about, much to my annoyance.
"VEGETA!! The way you are carrying me I feel like I'm going to fall! Stop!" She yelled loudly.
"Quiet, ningen. I will not drop you." She calmed down after I said this, and slid her arms around my neck so that she would feel safer. I rolled my eyes at her actions, and realized that her cheeks had reddened. I shrugged it off, but when we touched ground outside the mall, she made no effort to get off of me.
"Off, woman." I said bluntly. She was alarmed by my words and jumped in surprise, but she quickly detached herself from me and started walking away, motioning for me to follow her, as if I was a dog. I grunted and started following her inside. We were greeted by an annoying squeal.
"BULMA! You made it!" Maria said while flinging her arms around Bulma. Maria looked much different from when I had last seen her at school and at the medical center where the woman was healing. She wore her hair down this time, and I noticed that her hair was brown; a completely different color than the woman's. She had green eyes, and I could tell this because she had green stuff outlining her eyelids that was the same color. She was dressed adequately, unlike the other time I saw her. I scoffed.
`Perhaps she is loose woman to have been wearing something like that' I thought as I recalled the party. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around hastily.
"What do you want, Kakarott?" I said lowly as I saw the low-level before me.
"5 days remaining…." He said, afterwards laughing. I cocked my eyebrow. That statement seemed somewhat familiar. I realized what he was talking about, and put my hand over my face in remembrance of our deal. I looked up to Kami-sama. Must he do this to me? Why must I suffer this simple humiliation?
"So…have you found one yet?" Kakarott asked snidely.
"What do you think?" I said to him in a degrading manner. Kakarott didn't seem to catch my tone, because his goofy demeanor remained.
"If you don't have one in mind already, I'm sure we will meet a candidate here at this mall." Kakarott smiled optimistically, and I grunted in reply. I hid my confusion. What the fuck was I going to do? Find a ningen girlfriend? How ridiculous. Was it really worth sparring with Kakarott? I smirked. Yes, it is worth sparring with Kakarott.
"Vegeta!" I heard my name again and spun around quickly, almost knocking over the bald one and his blonde haired friend.
"Well, well, Vegeta! Don't you looksharp!" Maria sidled over to me and put her hand on my chest. I looked at her, puzzled. Why was she touching me? "I mean you look so trendy! Did Bulma help you with your outfit?" Maria said, closing her eyes and putting her hand on the side of her face.
There was that damn word again! TRENDY! What did that mean anyways? The Briefs woman had called me that before, and I wasn't too sure if she was complimenting me, threatening me, or insulting me. I looked at her face to try and read her facial features. I noticed something I hadn't noticed before.
She had kitsune eyes! Little fox eyes, they were slits. I looked at her in confusion. I hadn't ever seen eyes like that. I also noticed that her face had reddened and she was giggling. What the fuck? What was with these ningen women today? All of these thoughts ran through my head in a split second, and I looked away from her face and fixated my gaze on a spot on the opposite wall.
"What is `trendy'?"
"It means you look nice, Vegeta. It was a compliment." She said, still giggling like a drunk. Oooh, so it was a compliment. I shrugged in response, and looked across the group, who had seemed to have separated to partake in their own conversations. The woman was talking to this guy whom I didn't recognize. I looked at his face.
"YAUMCHA!" I growled loudly, striding closer to him and assuming my fighting stance. "What the hell are you doing here, you desert FILTH?" I said through gritted teeth.
"Nonono! Its okay!" Bulma said, standing in front of him with her arms out.
"Its okay. Its OKAY? That bastard beat you to a bloody pulp when he was stoned and you are okay with that?!" I said, taking joy in the fact that Yaumcha cringed at my accusations.
"Hey, guys! Let's get a move on!" Goku said a couple feet away, motioning towards the rest of the mall. I glared at him, and he came closer to me. "I'll explain everything in a second, lets go!" He said, while leading me away from the scene without my consent, of course. The rest of the guys followed, but the rat stayed with Kakarott's harpy woman, Bulma, the blonde ningen, and the kitsune. I figured that I should call her that since she had fox eyes, and I always forgot her name anyway. It seemed logical to me.
I turned to Kakarott and waited for an explanation, while we continued walking to our destination, which I had deviously planned.
"Okay. Yaumcha wants another chance." The bald one enquired.
"And you all think he deserves one?" I growled.
"Well, not really. We all wanted to beat him to a bloody pulp at first, but Maria talked us out of it." Kakarott said. I scowled deeply, and Kakarott continued to explain. "Even though he did that stuff to Bulma, they still love each other, and Yaumcha wants to try to get Bulma to forgive him and trust him again. Or, they just wont see each other anymore. Today's interactions between the two will decide."
I grunted in reply. Let the woman do as she wishes, and the next time the desert rat beats her, it will be her own doing.
