Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Show Him How ❯ Confessions ( Chapter 11 )
Disclaimer: I do not own Dragonball Z or any of the characters seen in the show, movies, manga, etc. I am not making any money or profit whatsoever off of this story.
Author's Note: A note to those who find Vegeta slightly out of character. Vegeta is rude to people whom he does not like or respect. Vegeta has a great respect for the Graf and most of the people of Toog, so he is going to be civil and polite.
And now, on a HAPPY note, Uncertain Future's review count reached quadruple 1's today! That means it has 1111 reviews! YAHOO!!!!!! So thanks to Melanie, who was #1111 and to everyone else who reviewed UF! You guys are all excellent and cool and all that good stuff!

Show Him How
Chapter 11: Confessions
Last Time: Vegeta reveals the reason he's so upset to be on Toog. It turns out that he and Yelta were once engaged, but he was sent on a mission and when he returned, she was pregnant with another man's child. Not only that, but she had to have been cheating on him while he was still on the planet for her to be in such a late stage of pregnancy.
Nobody saw Vegeta for a few days after the big party, and Bulma was beginning to get very worried. She was all alone on this alien planet, and her only link to the people here was a psychotic lunatic of a Saiyan who was off going crazy somewhere.
Kami…she missed him.
Where in hell could he be? What a bastard…leaving her here all alone. And he thought she was trying to offer him herself in pity. What an ass. He was too damn concerned with his own pent up rage that he was completely and totally blind to the desperate need she had for him!
"Damnit! If we ever get home, he is taking up knitting or something, so he can calm himself down! All that anger isn't good for a person!" Bulma wailed.
It was midmorning, nearly noon, and the depressed woman figured that she had better get ready for lunch. She was to eat with the Graf today and discuss what she would need in order to repair the ship.
On the way to the Graf's meeting chambers, Bulma happened to pass none other than Yelta, walking down the hall with a load of laundry under one arm.
"Excuse me," the Servant of Toog cleared her throat. "Are you not Bulma, friend to Vegeta sama?
"Hai." Bulma said coldly. How could this woman expect forgiveness after she had hurt Vegeta so badly? How could she? "That I am."
Yelta looked nervous, clearly upset with Bulma's frigid attitude. "I was just wondering if you had seen Vegeta-sama in the past few days…I have been told that you two are very…close…" It seemed that it almost pained the green skinned woman to say this sentence, as if, perhaps, she were still in love with Vegeta.
This thought almost made Bulma cry out in pain. Kami…if Yelta loved him, and he still loved her…What would she do? There would be no room in Vegeta's life for poor little Bulma, so desperately in love with him. How would she live with herself, knowing that her fairy tale prince, the one she had dreamed of wishing for with the Dragonballs, was in love with another woman?
"No. I haven't seen him since the night of the party." Bulma turned away, "and if you'll excuse me, I have a very important meeting with the Graf." With that, she turned on her heel, and walked swiftly towards the dining room. Not swiftly enough though, for Yelta had seen the look on the Human woman's face, and knew.
So she loves him too…
Bulma continued down the halls in a distracted huff, still thinking about her 'little' problem. She honestly didn't know how she would be able to stand the thought of Vegeta with another woman. Kami…why didn't I just let him have me on Imtor? I am such an idiot…
As she reached the Graf's private conference chambers, a guard announced her presence and she was ushered in to a cozy little room. Inside, the Graf sat waiting at a table set with lunch, looking over a few papers.
"Come in! Come in and sit down, Bulma, Servant of Chikyuu!" he smiled warmly at her and pushed the documents aside. "Bramph has kindly explained your situation to me already, so just tell me what Vegeta and yourself will need to repair your ship and I shall provide it."
"Well, I made up a list, but if you can't provide these exact tools then I'm sure we can work around it." Bulma smiled and read off the list of tools and parts that she would need, as the Graf sat and nodded his head after each item.
"It can be done, child. Everything will be ready for you tomorrow morning." He lifted himself out of his chair and took the list off the table. Then he hobbled over towards the door and handed it to the guard with specific instructions to take it to the Toog Science Research Center, wherever that happened to be. Bulma was sure someone would show her.
"I can't thank you enough Graf. You've been so wonderful, allowing Vegeta and I to stay, and now providing everything I need to repair our ship." Bulma thanked the old man profusely, and he smiled at her, now back in his seat across the table from her.
"Vegeta sama has been a friend for a long time." He smiled again. "Now eat some lunch child, and tell me what happened after the party."
"I…oh…" Bulma faltered. "Well…Vegeta left and I haven't seen him for a few days…"
"Bulma," the Graf placed a gentle hand on her arm. "I mean before he left. I know you followed after he left the party, and you've been unusually glum, I am told, since that night as well. What happened between the two of you?"
"I…well…" Bulma began to fidget in her chair. "We…talked…" she squirmed uncomfortably, and took a nervous sip of her water. "He told me what happened between himself and Yelta…"
"It's hard to believe that after ten long years, he still holds that pain…" Graf muttered, shaking his head sadly.
"Please don't tell me that…" Bulma murmured, and the Graf was shocked to see the pain so obvious on her face. "I…I don't know what I'll do if he still loves her…" she choked out, and soon tears were flowing freely down her face. "I…I just can't stand the thought…but…but if he still loves her…I…" She was shaking now, her body wracked with the tiny sobs she was trying to keep in. How embarrassing…to cry in front of the leader of a whole planet.
"Please Bulma, child, I know it hurts. You must tell me what he said though…"
"He…he talked about how they met. She was buying spices for her mother in the market…He spoke of how much he loved her, and how he thought of her all the time while he was on his mission. Then he told me about the miscommunication and how he came back, hoping to surprise her, only to find her pregnant. He told me he figured out that she…" Bulma paused, sobbing again.
"She what, dear." The Graf patted her shoulder.
"She…she was sleeping with Huyv's father before Vegeta even left the planet." Bulma sniffled, but continued, taking no notice of the Graf's wide-eyed shock. He had not known much of this information. "Oh Kami…He was so angry and hurt." Bulma's face contorted with pain just remembering the look on his face. "He told me that he wanted to kill her. He said he wanted to feel her neck snapping under his hands…but he couldn't do it…"
"Oh my Toog…" Graf muttered.
"He…he beat a few holes in the floor of his room…then he cried and I wiped away his tears…then I kissed him." She murmured the last part, barely audible. "I shouldn't have done it, I know, but I couldn't help it! He was so upset and I didn't know what to do and I love him so much…I just couldn't stand to see him in so much pain…" Bulma shuddered, pulling herself into a ball in her chair.
"Is there more, child? Why did he leave?"
"He…Vegeta lowered me to the floor, and he…he started tugging at my dress, still kissing me. I…I went to pull his shirt off of him and that's when he…He tore himself away and flung me across the room. He told me…" she drew in a shaky breath. "He told me he didn't want me that way, and that he didn't want, or need my pity. He…he thought I was offering myself out of pity…just to make him feel better…"
The Graf looked away, unable to keep his beady little eyes on a face that held so much pain…the poor girl loved Vegeta so much…so much it hurt even him to see her like this, and he barely even knew her. "You just stay here child. I'm going to go get you something to calm your nerves, and I'll be right back."
Graf stood slowly, patted Bulma's trembling back lightly, and then hobbled over towards the door. What the girl needed now was some Reepla, the Imtarite counterpart of chamomile tea. It would help her relax a bit, and perhaps he would tell her to go back to her own room and nap for a while. Opening the chamber door, he did not expect to see anyone out there, as he had sent the guard on an errand with Bulma's list.
"Oh! I'm sorry, Graf." A female voice sounded as the door bumped her.
"Yelta!" the Graf eyed the Imtorite woman. She looked slightly nervous. "How long have you been here Yelta? How much of that poor girl's pain did you hear?"
"I…I heard all of it." Yelta admitted, her head lowered in shame. "I didn't mean to though…it just sort of happened. I…I thought I forgot something here earlier and I heard your voices through the door…I couldn't stop myself…I'm so sorry."
"Go finish your work Yelta." The Graf said, unsure of whom to feel for, the poor alien girl in her misery, or a girl of his own kind. "You've caused enough trouble today, not to mention the other night at my banquet."
"Y…yes Graf." Yelta bowed and scurried off, her mind set on everything but the chores she did around the Graf's home to support her son.
