Goten found his room quickly, not wishing to see anyone. He laid down upon the bed, gazing up at the ceiling, but no longer was he aware of anything around.

His heart was broken. How horrible it had been to watch her forget him so easily and run into the arms of her so thought dead lover. The thought made him nauseous to the point he leaned over his bed ready to vomit at any moment. The way they had touched and kissed. But the worst of it all were her words. ‘I am whole again.’

All those nightmares had proven to be his worst reality. Everything he ever thought would happened had come true. She had just forgotten him. And now, there was no telling what they were doing.

Goten’s eyes transfixed on the floor where a small puddle was being created from his tears. He sniffed and wiped them away forcing himself to be a man about this. He leaned back on the bed covering his eyes with his hands, keeping all his emotions tight within him knowing that he was acting pathetic. But who wouldn’t be like this after everything that he just witnessed. The realization that he had just lost the love of his life plucked strings in his gut. And one of the worst parts about it, was there was no Arcadia here for him. He was completely alone now.

“Goten.”

He snapped up catching the sight of her just a few feet away. “What are you doing here?” He turned his back and went to the window. He wished to fold his arm but the wound still wasn’t healed and blood poured continuously. He should go to the infirmary but it was the last thing on his mind. So instead his hands fisted at his sides keeping all of his harsh words locked tight within him.

“Goten, you must understand something.”

“I understand.” He whispered sadly.

“He was the only one I ever loved. He was my life for so long.”

“I understand.” He stated a bit firmly, anger welling up inside of him at her constant need to talk about ‘him’.

“And when I saw him again, I was back in time. Everything just ceased to exist. Pain that held me for so long was released.”

“Stop it. Just go.” He felt her behind him. A small part of him wanted to throw her out, telling her he never wanted to see her again. But the larger part just wanted to forgive her.

“But when I heard your voice, reality came back. And I knew where I was. And I knew who I belonged to.” Her arms slipped around his waist feeling his body quiver. She could feel the emotions that raged off of him and it had caused tears to well in her eyes for ever making him feel like he wasn’t wanted. “And I knew who I wanted to be with. You are my mate, Goten. Nothing will replace you. Nothing can.”

His face scrunched up not ready to believe her. “I heard your words.”

She smiled sadly. “I meant them. Kali is a part of my heart. But you are my heart. I will not deny my happiness. And I will show it. Because before we were lovers, we were best friends.” She maneuvered herself to be in front of him but he still refused to look at her. “I love you, Goten.”

His resolve was weakened upon her words and he wrapped her up in his strong arm kissing her forehead. “I love you, too.”

“Goten, there is something we need to do.”

“What’s that?”

“Face the court.”

He pulled apart from her. “You sound scared.”

“The court will decide our fate. I told you in the beginning that it was forbidden to mate because I am royalty. And because of fear that if we were to have a child it will be too weak to withstand our life style. But since we have marked each other. We have to go before the court. I will not allow the problems that existed between Kali and I to exist between us.”

“Then let’s do it.”

“I don’t know what will happen. They might banish us.”

“To where? To Earth? I’m not scared of this court, Bra. As long as I have you, I don’t care what happens.”

Bra smiled widely, gazing upon his eyes as if seeing him for the first time. How many times had she wished Kali to say that to her? How many times had she prayed that Kali would just kiss her and tell her not to worry. She shook her head and continued to smile. “Come on, I need to take you to the medical bay.”

Vegeta exited from his hour shower. He had so many wounds to clean from his run in with his long lost son. That boy was so incredibly strong. Yet he had still no control of any of his fighting skills. That would take sometime. First he had to fix the boy’s mind and then he would work on the talent that was hidden within.

After two hours of Trunks taking out all of his with held anger, the boy finally collapsed, exhausted. Vegeta gently cradled the boy in his arm carrying him inside the small cottage that was Trunks home for the moment and laid the boy out on the bed. Trunks awoke slightly, his blue eyes shot open in fear but upon seeing Vegeta there he relaxed and allowed his eyes to close. “Father?” That word coming off the child’s lips brought such relief. Trunks finally recognized him as an alley.

“What, son?”

“I’m,” he took deep breaths from his overworked lungs. “Sorry. I’m. Not right.”

Vegeta shook his head. “Do not be. You will be fixed soon.”

A smile formed on his sweaty lips. “You must be my dad.” Vegeta’s eyes widened at the human term, a Japanese word the boy remembered.

“Trunks-” The boy was unconscious before Vegeta could question any further. He put the necklace Seneca had give him on the night stand.

Vegeta wrapped a towel around his waist feeling the jealousy radiate off the woman in the bedroom. Tolana had been in his quarters when Bulma had arrived. Many creatures had fled to their moon Geri and Tolana was the head coordinator of the situation. He had just been getting updates when Bulma came in. Her eyes had widened upon seeing the other female in the room. Tolana sensing it quickly left and Vegeta went into the shower without any explanation caring nil for the orbs that were shooting arrows through the back of his skull.

He went into the bedroom, Bulma was sitting at her work desk as usual. Her eyes glared at him. “How do you know that they will attack here next?”

Bulma’s question was surprising but he half expected it to be. “I don’t.” He answered with a careless sentiment. He pulled clothes from his drawls.

She stood, outraged, “Then why did you tell the nobles that?”

“To shut them up.” He glared pointedly at her, laying his suit out on the bed.

Bulma growled so humanly. Her eyes scanned him quickly before she smirked. “You look like you got the crap beaten out of you.” She left to let him dress caring not for his anger.

Vegeta put his clothes on quickly and went after her. She was gazing out of the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the entire city and fighting arenas. Their room was the highest part of the castle with Bra and Trunks’ rooms right across the hall.

Vegeta went to the kitchen to grab a drink. “It might be him, Vegeta.” Bulma’s voice reached his ears.

He knit his brows, stepping beside her watching the two suns set. “Who?”

Bulma turned to him, hesitating. “Turles.”

His eyes slit snapping his sight to her, “It that hopeful thinking?” He growled turning sharply away.

“Vegeta.” He stalled. “It’s possible he’s come back. He’s the only Sayian that would want revenge.”

“It is not possible.”

“Why? Did you kill him?”

Vegeta wiped around, throwing the drink against the fall wall, making Bulma jump in his anger, “Would it matter?” He growled violently, shoving his face towards her till their noses touched, “Do you still care for him?”

She backed up, “Stop it. He is nothing now. I proved that so stop insulting me. I just want to know if it is possible. That is my only explanation for this. IF you have one then share it so I can stop fearing.”

His back stiffened. He hadn’t sensed any fear from her. Why would she fear? He was here to protect her. Didn’t she know that? “I sent him to Netu.” He turned to the window.

She gapped, covering her mouth. “Netu? He didn’t deserve that-”

“He forced himself on you. Tried to get you to be with him. I’d say it was just punishment.” Vegeta went to the next room, sitting the bed to put on his boots.

Bulma shook her sadness away and quickly followed. “If not him, then who? No one wants to overthrow you. No Sayian anyway.”

“Remember not that more then forty percent of my race left twenty years ago when I took you as a mate.”

“You think it’s one of them?”

“I don’t know. No one is even close to my strength. How they managed to get so much power. It is not their own.”

“Hence the reason I say it’s Turles. He was as smart as me when it came to technology. He could have-”

“It is not him. The planet was the second one to be destroyed.” He gazed up at her, trying to distinguish any hint of sadness on her features, to find any trace of feeling that she still held for Turles. But there was none. Instead there was a smile.

“That must make you happy.”

“He was dead months before. That weakling couldn’t have lived so long. No one ever has.”

“I thought you were going to get rid of that planet a long time ago.”

“It served it’s purpose.”

She gazed at him sadly watching him rise to go to the dresser where his communicator laid. “But not yours. That planet was a ruthless, and tyrant creation. It was made only for the purpose of torturing.”

Vegeta growled violently swinging around, “I know what it was for. I spent a month on that planet. Do not try to explain it to me.” He saw the slight fright and knew he had attacked her wrongly. Vegeta calmed. “It is destroyed.” He stated plainly.

“Let’s hope another is never created.”

“Do you think that of me, Bulma?” She dropped her head, silently apologizing for insinuating it and when she raised her head, he was gone.

Bulma sat wide eyed as she watched her husband eat plate after plate after plate of food, manners no longer seemed to apply here while gulping down several cups of pitu(another form of water with more nutrients and has taste.) Goku and Goten seemed to think it was alright to do the same since they had twelve plates staked up empty already. Bulma, Maddox, and Bra glanced at each other. “So much for making a toast,” Bulma murmured taking a bite out of her meat. Radditz and Kali had stopped eating in their disgust and just watched their King in question.

Finally dinner was over except a few were still taking bites out of their desserts. Bra nervously took Goten’s hand and stood. “I wish to speak to the court.”

Vegeta leaned back in his chair, completely full for the first time in eight months. “What for?”

She bit her lip. “I have chosen a mate.”
Vegeta’s eyes were on Goten and the boy shrank visibly in his chair. But then his black eyes suddenly switched to Kali who stood without permission and left the room. Radditz stood, “Forgive him, sire. He’s still adjusting. I will call the court upon your command.” Vegeta nodded and Radditz bowed then stepped out.

“You sure you want to do this, Bra?” Bulma asked with a bit of concern.

“Yes. It’s time anyway. They are going to find out sooner or later. I’m surprised they haven’t said anything yet.”

“You know, if you do this, you might not be able to be queen. Who will take on the throne?” Her blue eyes went over to Vegeta wondering if he had an answer to that but instead he deliberately avoided contact. “Vegeta.” Bulma forced but still he ignored her.

“I’m. I’m sure daddy will find someone. Right daddy?”

Vegeta cleared his throat quickly taking the last bite of his dessert. Bulma raised her brow. “Weren’t you going to chose Kali if anything happened?”

“Kali is no longer an option.” Vegeta finally leaned back in his chair, his plates quickly being taken away by servants.

“Why?” Maddox was quick to question.

“He is different now.”

“He’ll get better.” She defended. “You just got to give him a couple more days. He’ll be right again.” She fixed her eyes on each one at the trouble, feeling more offended by the group that was around her. “He was taken by slave traitors. How you would be? You weren’t be right either. He’ll be fine. You’ll see.” She left the table, making sure to slam the door on her way out.

Bulma looked over to Vegeta as if asking him what that was all about but he’s eyes flung to the opening where a messenger stood. “The Court has gathered.”
