~~~~``` Chapter 6 Surprise
It was no surprised that when she awoke, he was gone. Seneca woke with a start, her eyes blinking wildly as she saw his empty side of the bed. From the looks of it, he'd been gone for a while. She covered her eyes with her hand, her lips trembled in anger from his absences. She should have know. Staring up at the ceiling allowing her tears to fall, she glanced over at his side again and let her hand run up the mattress he had occupied then to his pillow. But when she reached there her hand brushed against the letter and the one long stemmed rose. She smiled and shook her head, grabbing both. After taking scent of the flower she wiped her cheeks and opened the letter, sitting up while doing so.
'Dear Seneca,
I know what you're thinking and I'm sorry that I am not there to see your beautiful face. But I couldn't hold out any longer. I'm going to use that pod and make a ship so I can go out into outer space and hopefully find someone that knew my parents. It might take a while. I won't lie to you about that. I only ask that you wait for me. I promise that when I return from this more then likely fruitless quest, I will stay forever with you. If you'll let me. I love you. I've loved you since the first time I saw you walk through those classroom doors in ninth grade. Do you get where I'm going with this, Seneca? I'm trying to ask you to marry me. I was never good with the romantic stuff so if this doesn't meet your expectations, when I return, I swear I will do the whole fancy dinner, dancing, and then the bended knee. Don't answer now. Of course because I'm not there. Just think about it and when I get back, I know you're answer will have no unsure tone to it. I love you. Hope you like the ring.
Arcadia a.k.a. Trunks.
The ring? Seneca's wet eyes gazed only over the bed, throwing covers this way and that, pillows sprawled on the floor, only to end up standing in the middle of the mattress, her eyes darting to and fro looking for the ring. Her eyes went quickly back to the letter, trying to see if it had given any hint. It was then she felt a band around her finger.
Arcadia rolled himself out from underneath the spaceship. His clothes wreaked in grease but he didn't care. He stood up and took an overall review of the craft that he had made in forty-eight hours. He had taken the pod to his shop back on the Tech Research facility that he was part of. The youngest in the squad to ever make it to this place. All the rest of the guys and girls were above the age of thirty. He smirked at his creation, having never made such a thing before. Arcadia had to take a sample of the metal used on the pod and melt it with his golden power since no other heat in the world would have been able to complete the job. After that he had to figure out the chemical equation only to find several atoms and molecules that he had never seen before. However with his genius it only took him two hours to create everything needed from scratch and produce just enough metal. So with the parts of the pod: the computer program, the foreign engine, and the awkward control panels, he connected everything into the larger ship that contained a place to sleep, a small gym, and a kitchen. He moved over to the ramp doorway and stepped in it, nodding in satisfaction at his work. Now all he had to do was make sure the gravity system worked, something that he had master a long time ago, and if the engines and computers liked their new home.
Arcadia smiled to himself as the gravity pulled at him and checked it off his list before pressing the start button. He was just too smart for his own damn good. "Arcadia!" The half-breed swung around, eyes widening at the sight of his best friend standing in the doorway.
Seneca stared at him for a moment, before lifting the ring up allowing his eyes to widen in surprise, and smiling, "I hope you don't think I'm going to say yes with a proposal like that?" She had finally found him and she wasn't too late. Seneca nearly felt like crying when she saw his beautiful eyes.
He chuckled, "I kind of hoped." Arcadia stepped up to her.
"Well try again there hotshot." She threw the ring up in the air allowing him to catch.
Arcadia stared at the eighteen carrot diamond ring before letting his amused blue eyes roll up to her, "I was planning to wait until I came back to do it the proper way."
"Well, then I'm just going to have to forget that you asked me."
"You know…You always ruined my plans."
"That's because their never good." His smiled widened before he wrapped her up in a strong hug, swinging her around and kissing her neck.
"I'm going to miss you."
"I'm use to it so missing probably won't set in for a couple of weeks." He set her down, placing his forehead down upon her hers. "How long do you think it will take?"
"I don't know. Weeks, months, years."
She pulled away causing his attention to peak, "Then I'll wait."
"You sure?"
"No. But if I give up on you then I'll go over to my other boyfriend's place."
His arms tightened as they always did at her mentioning anything about another male in her life but he played it cool, nuzzling her nose, "Go for it. But I assure you. Ain't no one better at pleasing you then me."
"I wouldn't know that, now would I 'mister I-have-to-have-you-before-anyone-else."
He laughed only to bring her closer, "I need to go. Goten might show up. And I really need to do this."
"Do you want me to tell them where you went?"
"They'll know."
"I love you."
"Who wouldn't?" she giggled in response but kissed him deeply ignoring the tears falling down her eyes. She separated from him and slowly took off her silver necklace, grabbing the small ring in his hand and slipping it on. Seneca connected the jewely around his neck.
"Just so you don't forget you got someone waiting for you." He smiled and embraced her once again.
She walked out, watching him shut the door with a sad smile and wave. Three minutes later, the ship started and the ceiling above parted. Seneca backed up sniffing as it flew up in the air and blasted off. She looked down at the small communicator in her hand and remembered what he said.
'Only contact me if it's really important. Don't tell anyone about this. And, Seneca, If you can't reach me on this anymore. Just know that I will always love you, and forever will have to wait until our next lives.'
She tightened her grip on the small device and began to pray that he returned to her safe and full and has finally found what he has been searching for.
Vegeta's bloody hands fisted at his sides as he slammed each foot down on the marble floor making his way from the Communication Motherboard. He knew that it didn't matter, for they all ready had the trace, but still, his temper flared at the instant he was told that the tracker had been either destroyed or turned off. He didn't understand! Why would his son turn off the tracker? Did he not believe they were coming for him since it has taken more then six days to get across the galaxy at top speed? They were only one day away, didn't the boy have any damn patience? Vegeta smirked as he took his personality and the woman's. He could just imagine that by the second day the boy had given up hope, if he knew they were coming at all. Vegeta wondered briefly if the woman put the message she had made a year before the actually battle. The young couple had a huge argument over it since Vegeta and his ego knew for a fact that they were going to win. But as he did think back, if the boy did find the message, then wouldn't that mean he thinks they're dead?
Vegeta shook his head. It was pointless to think about, especially now. He needed to get to the training arena before he accidentally ran into his mate. She always seemed to know when he kept things from her and this was something he defiantly didn't want her to know. Especially with her already pessimistic attitude.
He turned the corner, only to stall and throw himself back around the bend while slowly lowering his ki signature. Vegeta peaked over the edge, though belittling himself for doing such a deceiving thing such as spying. This was his castle for Vela's sake. He shouldn't need to spy!
But then again this was his daughter he was looking in on. And his relationship with the lavender-haired beauty was about as solid as his relationship with his dead son. Vegeta's black brows knitted as his eyes watched a Sayian guard talk to his young daughter at her doorway. They were whispering and he was too far away to even listen with his exceptional hearing. But he could make out her fluttering giggles and see her flushed cheeks as she nervously or flirteously tucked a strained of her long silk hair behind her ear. The same habit as the woman.
Vegeta barred his teeth when the man's tail lazed around to the front to caress her leg. And what the hell was she wearing!? It was the first time he noticed her outfit and his eyes nearly bulged from their sockets. She wore blood red boots that went up to her knees, a matching skirt that didn't even go halfway down her thighs and a tube top that refused to cover her whole…chest…area… never mind it reaching her belly button. She had the same color head band, keeping her lavender hair from her eyes along with a collar that wrapped around her neck. She better not be wearing that to hide any scar, that's all Vegeta could say.
Her lavender tail, much to his disgust, flicked against the Sayian guard's. Who the hell was this male that was making moves on his too young of a daughter! She shouldn't even know how to use her tail in such flirtatious ways yet! The only thing Vegeta could see that would help identify the traitor later is his boots. Which belong to the Super Elite squad. The rest of the predator's body was covered in a long black cloak. So the man obviously knew that what he was doing was illegal under the communism law. What also bugged the hell out of him was the fact that fool standing before his daughter had to be at least twenty-five years or older considering that Vegeta only allowed that age to walk around the palace freely simply because he knew males would go after his beautiful daughter.
Vegeta growled low in his throat when the two shared an intimate kiss. He would let them go for now but he swore if that male even tried to step one foot in her room he would have his head. Both of them! He sighed in relief as they said their good-byes and the man headed in the opposite direction of himself.
Once the Sayian was out of sight, Vegeta took this chance to stomp his way to his daughter's door and gently knock on the door. He would have to do this a calm way if he was not to get caught spying.
"I thought I said-OH, dad! What are you doing here?" She quickly stepped back, her arms drawing around her chest, praying to the gods of Vegeta-sei that he couldn't smell the scent of her secret affair.
"Can't I come and see my daughter without reason?"
"Not normally. Umm…I need to go to the bathroom, I'll be right out." And without further explanation or excuse she ran and slammed the door to her bedroom.
Vegeta smirked but said nothing as he moved his way through her room. It came to him that he hadn't stepped foot in this room since they made this ship. Then again he never needed too since his daughter usually never came on rebellion trips. It had confused him at first on why she insisted but after that encounter it drove him mad with fury that he actually agreed to let her come.
Vegeta, against his better judgment, took a deep breath of the place. Relief washed over him at no smell of the male nor of…other…activities was present. He made sure that when she returned from changing to take in her scent, just make sure she was still pure. It had never crossed his mind about her and some male, for she was so young, but after that encounter his confidence in his daughter's chastity surely dwindled.
He took in his surroundings, purple, pink, light blues, greens, and other flouesant colors decorated her room. Vegeta, honestly had never seen a pink leather couch before and believe him he never wanted too. Pink was such a hideous color. Her furniture were all curvy and abnormal, causing his brows to knit in wonder at where she had gotten these things. Vegeta-sei did not carry anything of this nature.
He wasn't able to dwell on it however as his daughter revealed herself in a navy pantsuit that was only allowed to be worn while in quarters. Her hair was up as it should be for a female of her stature, though those rules long forgotten with the era of Bulma coming into Vegeta-sei's customs. She tore apart their tradition of royalty by doing whatever the hell she pleased. He mentally smirked at that. She used to be so wild. Vegeta shook his head, it wasn't the same now. They were more mature now. Or just stupid.
"So father, what do you want?"
Vegeta scoffed, though the raised eyebrow of his daughter gave away his plans. So he just cut to the chase. "Who was that?" While asking such he took in her scent. And sighed in relief finding her still innocent.
"Who was who?" She made her way over to the couch so she wouldn't have to see the face of her father.
"You know whom I'm talking about. That fool I just say you with."
Her head swung around as her brows knit. A fire set in her blue eyes so much like her mother's, "Were you spying on me?"
"I wasn't spying. This is my ship, I do not need to spy."
She stood and went before him, "You were, weren't you?"
"I was just walking down the hallway when I saw a very unpleasant sight of my daughter and a worthless guard in such a close position!" He spat watching her stomp her foot and throw her hands in the air.
"Don't you dare, Dad! Don't you dare try and be a part of my life now!"
"I do not want you to see that weakling--"
"He is not weak!--"
"Don't talk back to me! He is below you! Not to mention Vela knows how many moons your elder!"
"This is pointless!" She turned her back.
"Do not walk away from me, Bra!"
"I have the most right to do as I please!" She swung around, her eyes blazed with pent up anger these past sixteen years. Tears all ready springing from her eyes. "Don't act like you care, Dad. You never have before! I am sixteen years old, and do you know one thing about me? No. You know why, Dad? Because you don't care. Mom and you from the day I was born only cared about finding my dead brother. I was unwanted from the beginning. And both of you did not spare me a single moment without telling how much of a burden I am. I know you guys were forced to have me. It wasn't a secret. But that I can forgive and forget. But did either of you take the time to be there for me? To ask me how I felt about Trunks? To ask me how my day was? Or how I'm doing with my training and teachings? If you would've asked me, Dad, I would have willingly told you that I have been with him for two years. I love him, Dad. And once I am twenty, we are going to be mated. Weather you like it or not."
"The hell you are! You will listen to me, I'm your father damn it!"
"Oh, so now you want to take on the job? It's a little too late, 'Dad'. I don't need or want your attention anymore." With that Bra ran out of her quarters ignoring the yells of her father to return.
