~~```` Chapter 10

Bra stared in question at her mother who was grinning from ear to ear as she strolled down what she had come to know as a strip mall. Her arm was locked with her mother's and unfortunately she wasn't able to escape the annoying happiness that seemed to have envelope the woman as soon as they jumped off the motorcycle.

But what was even more disturbing were just how many humans that were walking all around them. Having never been in a 'mall' before was making Bra just a little bit nervous not knowing the potential of any human's strength. She knew she was part human but Bulma was her only view of these creatures that were her ancestors so she wasn't really nervous that they would outright attack her. However being surrounded by so many, Bra didn't know what to think so she clang to her mother for protection as she eyed each awkward creature that past.

Her lavender brows knit as she saw a blond woman with green eyes, pale skin, and scrawny arms that was gabbing away happily on a cell phone Bra leaned into her mother, wanting to get far away from the thing as possible. Blond hair? Did that mean she was a Super Sayian? No! Not possible. "Mom…why does she have blond hair?"

"Honey, that's the natural hair color for normal humans. As you know, my color and yours is abnormal in this world. Don't worry, none of these creatures can hurt you."

"Why are there so many?"

"Their shopping."

"Together?"

"Not together. They all go their different ways. They don't know each other they are just in the same building at the same time.""

"I don't get it. Why don't they just view it from their home?"

"They aren't that technologically advanced yet so they all come here to view it in person instead of a hologram."

"So you mean like peasants?"

"I guess you can see it like that but rich people do it too. Isn't this great?!"

Bra cocked an eyebrow before looking around, "Sure."

"Bra, while we're alone." Bulma looked back at the agitated Sayian that followed. She giggled as the humans shank back in fear at the mere size of him, studying his odd outfit and brown, furry belt. She shook her head before looking over at her daughter, "I know what your father said."

"He was being totally unfair! He has no right to tell me whom to court. He hasn't been around all these years, I don't want him around now."

"Bra, please don't get upset. Just relax and talk to me. Do you really not want your father around?"

She sighed, her blue eyes refusing to look over at her mother. "Well maybe. I mean there was a time when I would have given anything up for his attention but now…it just doesn't seem that important. It makes me so angry though that now he thinks he can order me around. He forbade me to see Kali. Honestly!"

"How are you and Kali doing by the way?"

A large grin appeared on her face, "Doing exceptionally well. He is so perfect. A pure gentleman, like always. We went on a date last night, which is very hard to do when you are trying to keep your relationship a secret and on a ship that at any given moment will tell Dad who I'm with. But Kali got a few of his friends to stand watch outside the door while we ate dinner inside the Training Arena for Special Ob. He decorated the whole arena. We danced and ate, and sparred. It was so wonderful. We haven't been able to do that since we left Vegeta-sei over a month ago. Sometimes I don't know how he's Radditz's son."

"I heard that." He gruffed, crossing his arms defensively.

The two royals giggled. Bulma looked back, "Come on, Radditz. You know he takes after Maddox more then you." She whispered in her daughter's ear, "Thank Vela for that."

Bra laughed before swinging around to him walking backwards, "Hey, Radditz how come Maddox didn't come?"

A smirked appeared on the old man's face, "She's with child."

"OH man!" Bulma yelped as she swung around with a bright smile. "That's wonderful. It must please you. Congratulations."

"Yes, my queen. Very much so."

"Kali hasn't mentioned it."

"He is upset by it. As am I."

"Why? I thought he would be happy for you."

"He'll tell you. I do not wish to speak of it, if you do not mind, Lady."

"No of course not. Hey, question, Radditz, I know you know about Kali and I. What do you think of my father forbidding him to see me?"

"He has every right. I have forbade my son from courting you but obvious he disobeys my orders."

Bra stopped dead in her tracks, almost glaring at the seven foot creature as he stalled in front of her with a smug expression. "How could you?"

"It is wrong, Lady. He is not worthy of you. Not only that but he is all ready destined to another. And you must understand that half-breed and half-breed mating will never be accepted. It is proven that the offspring of such a coupling will be too weak to sustain a life among our kind."

"That doesn't matter. Is everyone so blind to see how we feel for each other?"

"Bra, let's drop it, OK. We'll talk about later but at the moment we're creating a show for the Earthlings." Bra didn't care. She couldn't believe that they were acting like this. But hearing her mother plead, reluctantly made her swallow her words of anger and nod in response.

She turned around with a straight back, fisted palms and clenching teeth. She had to use all of her control to not allow her flinching tail loose from it's confines under her black top. Taking a few deep breaths and thinking of how wrong they all were, she soon relaxed enough to allow her blue eyes to look around her surroundings as they continued to walk through the overcrowded halls of the mall. Her sight caught one store that could not be past up and she quickly grabbed her mother's arm and pointed. "Can we go in there?"

"A gothic store, huh? Should have known."

"What's 'gothic'?"

"It's a store full of black. Cool things just it makes me worry. Come on." They entered the store, Bra instantly going to the back where black boots with spikes outlining lay. Bulma laughed, "Won't your father love those." Bulma grabbed a choker necklace that would match. "If you're going to scare him why not get all out. How about getting a fake tongue piercing?"

"Mom, you're never this fun. I thought you were going to have a cow when I put this on."

"We are on Earth. This planet never gave a rat's ass about royalty. Especially in America, where we're at right now. So it didn't matter to me. It's your father I will have to put up with later."

"Why does dad care so much about it?"

"He was brought up as a noble, Bra. He doesn't know any different. When I came along, I screwed up all of his future plans of royal style."

"Can I help you ladies?" Bulma snapped her head toward the woman, a smile instantly spreading on her face. The female had pink, black, and purple hair, cut short to her ears with earrings up and down the shell of her ear, a nose ring, a lip ring, and in a black tight skirt and blood red top.

Switching to English, "I would like to buy those boots, that shirt, and one piece of each kind of earring, necklace, and bracelet you have in here."

"You want…all of the jewelry?" She faltered.

"Not all of it. Just one of each." Bulma grinned before she moved over to the seven foot, bulky creature stuck in the corner, "What do you think? Want something?"

"This place is horrid. It's like they worship the dead in here."

Vegeta growled as he scanned the area where the broken pod rested. Lights were built above the small cave, a campfire that has long ago been burnt out remained on the ground. Vegeta kneeled down next to the pod that was supposable his child's. His hand ran over the outer metal, knowing instinctively that this was the pod. The symbol of royalty printed on the outer rim of the door. A large hole was cut from it's side, which was what had destroyed the signal not to mention the engine and control panel were gone. He growled violently, hating the fact that it actually meant someone had taken what they needed to built their own ship. Which could only mean his child was the one that did it. He was the only one that knew the password. Vegeta's heart pounded uncontrollably in his chest. He was alive. A small smile breached his lips. Trunks was alive. And he was heading back home…

He stood, touching the metal one more time, knowing his heir had touched the same solid alloy. Wait until the woman hears about this. "Kali. Where's my mate and brat?"

"4,000 miles west."

Vegeta swung around, "What?!"

"They are in the other half of the planet, sir."

"I heard you! Why?"

"Radditz said that the queen wanted to shop. And she wanted to piss you off, sir."

Vegeta barred his teeth before swinging around, his cape flinging out behind him, "Do yourself a favor, Kali, never take a bitch as a mate."

"Ice cream! Holy shit!" Bulma gripped her daughter's hand and ran for the enormous ice-cream shaped store. "I haven't had this in twenty years!" Bulma exclaimed as she immediately went to the counter and began ordering all the things on the list. "What do you want, Bra?"

"I can't read English, Mom."

"Oh, that's right." Bulma looked back to the teller and gave her an order before looking over to Radditz, knowing he would want something and decided a banana split would treat him well. She grinned wildly as she gave the largest vanilla/chocolate ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles to her daughter.

Bra took it awkwardly holding it away from her, "What do I do with it?"

"You eat it." With that, Bulma grabbed the cone and took a bite from the top, groaning in absolute delight, her eyes rolling in the back of her head as her taste buds were assaulted with the beautiful taste of sweet, smooth ice cream.

Bra, staring at her mother with worry, swallowed her nervousness of the weird looking food and licked the top only to smile at the deliciousness of it. "That's good. What is it?"

"It's ice cream! The only thing I really miss on this planet." Bulma grabbed her sundae, milkshake, and her rocky road ice cream cone. "Go find a seat, I've got to wait for Radditz."

Bra nodded turning to go out of the building as she licked at her cone, being careful to make sure nothing fell from the unstable holder. She whimper though as something rammed into her from behind, causing her cone to go flying to the ground. Bra stomped her foot, turning around ready to blast the little human that destroyed her desert only to be stalled at the mere sight. Her eyes wide, jaw open as she stared up at the tall, huge man that had his hands on her arms, steadying her and saying words repeatedly.

Goten cursed himself while he grabbed the falling victim that he run into. He needed to hurry, he didn't have time to get himself into trouble. He helped the female stand, apologizing profusely only to instantly stall as her eyes fell on his. Catching himself gawking, Goten quickly began apologizing again, asking again and again if she was OK, only to find that her lavender brows were knit. Lavender? Blue eyes?

Suddenly Goten was ripped away from his brother's twin and slammed hard against the wall by his neck. Any human would have died on impact but instead with Goten, it only left a large dent in the solid rock board. He gripped the hand that had his throat, his eyes on his attacker ready to power up but found himself once again immobile as he stared into the eyes of his father with very long hair.

The beautiful female he had ran into hurried to the tall man's arm, yanking powerlessly while saying something in a language Goten had never heard though finding it hypnotic as it rolled off her tongue like silk.

Radditz's eyes slit watching the human's eyes gaze lustfully at his princess, "She is off limits, human." He growled in English knowing the man understood him.

The human's eyes moved to his. Why did this creature look so familiar? He was the exact copy of his uncle, only with shorter hair. "What are you, her keeper?"

"Yes, actually." Radditz's tail whipped behind him trying to pacify his rising anger. "You'd be best to know your place peasant."

"And you know yours." With that, Goten slammed his palms in his opponent's chest allowing him instant access to breath again. "I don't have time for this." Goten growled to himself while he lowered his body into a fighting position.

Having caught off guard brought more rage to the pure Sayian and in acceptance, lower himself into battle only to be stalled by his angry queen glaring at him with burning blue eyes. His confidence and arrogance quickly fleeting the scene as he nervously swallowed. "Don't you even think about it." She bit. "It was a simple accident. He didn't see her. It happens. I will not have you causing trouble, do you understand me, Radditz?"

"But, my queen--"

"I don't want to hear it. I'm sure when you caught them he was just about to rape her. But that's not what Bra told me and I rather believe her then a brutal and high-strung Sayian any day. Now stand down." Bulma swung around with a beautiful smile as stepped up to the human whose anger faded with the woman's peasantry. "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. He didn't hurt you did he?"

"Hardly." He smirked at the growl he got in retaliation.

"He didn't?" Bulma ran her hand down the large dent.

"Nope." Goten laughed as he swung his hand behind his head, "I'm kind of strong."

"Uh huh. Radditz, come here." The seven foot beast stepped up beside the five foot female with his arms crossed over his chest stubbornly. Bulma held her chin as she analyzed the human. Now speaking in Sayian-DI, "Doesn't he kind of look like Bardock? And Turles? And your son? And…" She looked up at the giant, "You?"

"Hardly." He mocked the human with malice.

"I don't know there, big guy." Bra cut in as she walked up to the human and poked his cheek. "He resembles you kind of a lot."

Radditz eyed the disgusting weakling up and down, finding himself not being able to disagree, "What are you getting at?"

"I don't know. Check his power level."

"Umm…Excuse me?" The three looked at the human in question. "I'm kind of in a hurry. So sorry for the trouble but--"

"Hold it just a minute. Are you human?"

"What kind of question is that? Of course I'm human."

"A hundred percent?"

"Look, I don't know what you're--" The three aliens looked on in annoyance as the kid grabbed his cell phone, "Goten here. Seneca? Calm down. What's wrong? What do you mean you were talking to Arcadia?…Uh huh…What!? Are you sure?!…Shit!…All right, I just need to pick up a few supplies for the ship and I'll be heading back to Japan….Seneca please stop crying, I'm sure Arcadia is perfectly fine, just some trouble. OK, I promise." With that he hung up and without even remembering what he was doing before hand, Goten ran behind the ice cream building.

The three followed him with curious eyes only to freeze on the spot with shocked expressions as the kid jumped into the air and began to fly. "Hey, mom?"

"What?"

"Do humans have the ability to fly?"

"About as much as a turtle."
