Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ So Blue ❯ Surrendering ( Chapter 14 )
~~~~~````` Chapter 14
Bulma entered her room, having no energy to do anything else but go to her bed and fall into the beautiful mattress. She didn't care if 'night' wasn't for another three hours, she wanted something to comfort her. Her grief waited heavily on her and even more depressing, Vegeta had not been in his quarters. How much she would have loved to be held by him at this moment.
Not even bothering to undress, she wrapped the large quilts around herself and snuggled deep into her pillow before reaching out for the picture frame that rested on her nightstand. Her smile dipped into a tremble as she remembered the picture she looked at now. Vegeta standing with his arms over his chest, stubbornly behind her and the small child in her arms. Bulma was beaming at the camera with Trunks in her arms waving happily. That was taken only five days before Judgment Day.
"You were sixteen," Vegeta stalled at her gasp. Bulma flung her eyes over to the corner where her mate sat in a chair in complete darkness. She hurried to turn on her lamp.
"Vegeta…"
"When you were captured by Frieza." He finished not making eye contact with her as he fiddled with the large golden ring that the woman had given him when they got mated. "Seventeen when I met you. Eighteen when I took you as my mate and returned to Vegeta-sei. Nineteen when Trunks was born. Twenty when we were forced to give him away. Twenty-one when he died. Twenty-two when we had Bra. So young even for Sayian standards. I was the only one who ever touched you. You never experienced anyone before nor after. Maybe that is why I am not as surprised as I thought I would be."
"Vegeta, what are you talking about?" Bulma stood from her bed, stepping over to him, wanting her mate to look at her, to talk to her, but he seemed to be hypnotized by the ring between his fingers.
"How long has it been going on?"
"What?"
"I saw you and him. I heard your words and his." He flashed his eyes up just in time to see the horror strike her face before he continued his silent gaze at the jewel. He had feared that expression. Feared what it meant. But now, at this moment, his emotions had fled from him so feeling fear right now was impossible. Normally he would have been angry, hurt, and had killed Turles for his insubordination, but he couldn't. It was like he was lost. Vegeta didn't know how to feel anything. "How long?"
"Vegeta, It's not what you think. We never did anything."
"You expect me to believe that?" He questioned though no anger in his voice as Bulma would have thought. Not once in his life had Vegeta given up on anything but it seemed now, he didn't have a choice. He was forced by the gods of Vegeta-sei to just surrender and admit his loss. "No. I don't want to know anything."
"Vegeta, what is wrong with you? Please talk to me." She knelt before him, placing her hands on his knee pleading with him. "Don't be so defeated, Vegeta. You found him." Tears sprung to her eyes. "And now that we did, we can allow him to rest in peace." She rested her head on his thigh. "But now that we know, don't give up on everything, please. I'm still here. And Bra. We still have a life. We just have to get on with it."
"No. The life we had is over. Just as much as our bond." His large, powerful, smooth hand glided over Bulma's silky blue hair down to her neck where his fingers gently rubbed the scar that was no longer there. Bulma's eyes shut tight knowing about her scar. She had hid it, thinking that maybe if she didn't notice and no one else knew, it wouldn't be true. But it was a lost cause. Of course Vegeta would know, he would feel it slip away and notice his own scar vanished. Maybe that was what she was crying for in the secret hallway. Since Trunks was now permanently gone, there was no chance at the revival of their once impenetrable link.
Vegeta closed his eyes at the smoothness of her skin that at one time held the mark of his emotions that he was never able to show her. If possible it made him feel even emptier then he ever thought he was capable of feeling. "You may stay here on Earth, now. You are no longer in danger for you are no longer my mate." Vegeta swallowed painfully hard when he felt her release silent cries, her nails digging into his thigh but he could feel nothing. "Bra is yours. She would much rather be with you anyway. I have all ready talked to the noble court. I will be able to pass my title down to Kali."
Bulma lifted her head up to gaze at him through the sheer sheet of light that spread across the room. His eyes were void of feeling, his features defeated but he stared continuously at her nonetheless. His large hand lifted to her cheek to wipe the tears from the pale skin. "I didn't want it to be true, Vegeta. I wanted our son back. I wanted him to be alive."
"I know."
"I'm sorry I didn't believe in you. If I would have had more faith that you would defeat Frieza, we would still have our child. And we would still have our bond."
"It doesn't matter now. We could have done many things differently. But it's too late."
"Time takes things from you. It takes so many things."
"Not if you do not let it."
"Please say you forgive me."
"There is nothing to forgive."
Bulma couldn't help the tears that fell. "Yes there is. There are so many things."
"It doesn't matter now. It's over." With that Vegeta leaned down, holding his once mate's cheek in his palm, and placing a chaste good-bye kiss to her trembling lips. He opened his eyes to see her pleading desperately to him but he had to ignore it. There was no use. No point. He had to give up. He had no option. "There will never be another, Bulma." He whispered to her, swallowing hard as she let out a whimper. He stood, setting the gold object on the dresser while going for the door.
Her eyes widened at the ring that he set down. It was that instant something fueled her to fight. "Vegeta!" Bulma stood watching him stall between the doorway. "Time may take a lot of things. But I didn't allow it take how I feel about you. Our bond might have failed. But to me that means nothing. I still love you."
"And to me, that means nothing."
She ran in front of him before he could continue. "It meant something once." He stared at her not having a response, not knowing how to response. She was right as always. It did mean something at one time. "It can mean something again."
"It's too late now."
"It's never too late. Vegeta please. Let me stay with you. Let us try again."
"Why?"
"Because someone once told me that no matter how hard things get, the outcome will always be what you want it to be as long as you fight for what you want. And I want to be with you. And I will not let you leave here, let you leave me without a fight. You are my mate, my husband, and time may take most of everything but I will be damned if I let it take you away from me." Bulma gripped his face in her palms and smashed her lips to his. He responded instantly back, letting his hands rise to her hips and pulling her closer to him as he twirled his tongue with hers between their open mouths. It always felt new when they kissed, no matter how many times they have done it, it always felt like the adrenaline one gets when riding a roller coaster for the first time. The heart pounding, the incredibly rush of energy and life, and the mind numbing incapacitation.
Without parting once from her lips, Vegeta bent down, gripping her thighs, lifting her up and allowing her to wrap them around his waist. He encircled her back with his hands holding her to his body as he made his way to her bed. He gently laid her down on the mattress supporting her head while his other arm held his body up from crushing her. Vegeta sucked on her bottom lip, licking it before setting his sharp crannies to lightly nip at it.
Bulma's hands ran up his back to mingle in his soft black mane, pushing him closer so their tongues once again battled with one another. She felt him bring his knees up to the end of the mattress, helping him control how much body weight he pressed against her also allowing his arms to encircle her, holding her to his body as if hugging her. Bulma did the same, wrapping her arms around his neck. Their tongues soon extracted from the other's mouth resulting in them sucking gently upon each other's lips before even that came to a halt and they panted against one another's wet lips. They stared at each other, drawing in as much air as possible all the while before Vegeta lowered his lips to her cheek, kissing his way down to her neck, letting her hear him take a deep breath of her scent.
Bulma closed her eyes, arching her neck, basking in his attention only to open her eyes wide when Vegeta suddenly pulled away. She stared up at him while he gazed down at her from his standing position, his body shaking in desire and his fists clenching in an unknown rage. Unknown at least until he spoke, "His scent."
Bulma's features depressed watching him turn his back and head for the door. She wanted to say something, anything that would get him to stop but knew even now there was nothing more she could possibly say. She watched him stall in the doorway and waited for his words. "If you are willing to try. Then the least that I can do is do the same. But not now. You will get a new guard. You will not interact with him ever again. If you do, I will kill him. And if you lie to me, I will send you back here. This will be my only attempt at renewing our bond." Bulma allowed him to walk away though nodding in response.
It was odd, for him to act in such away. And it was even more crazy that Bulma had actually agreed. But he had right to restrict her from seeing Turles and she would not disobey him on this one. She wanted to give their relationship one more roll and if it was screwed up this time, then she will willingly send herself back here.
Goten's mouth hung open at the sound of choppy Japanese fall from Bra's lip. She grinned in delight at his astonishment before speaking, "Why do you look so surprised? Do you not have technology such as this?"
Swallowing his awe, Goten shook his head, too amazed now at how beautiful her voice sounded in his language. Was she perfect or was she a figment of his imagination? He couldn't take his eyes away from her, nor did he want to. She was the most unique female he had ever been blessed to lay eyes on. If only Arcadia could see this one. Goten grinned mentally. How jealous he would be if Arcadia came back to find him snug with this goddess.
Bra blushed, giggling at his ridiculous expression, waving a hand before his dumbfounded face. "Are you OK?"
He slowly nodded before shaking himself from the spell she unknowingly cast, closing his mouth, and biting his lip in embarrassment. "I'm sorry. I've just never seen someone so…"
"I know I've weird hair. Kind of a mother trait."
"No, no. My brother has the same color but that wasn't what I was going to say. Beautiful actually was the word I was looking for."
She dropped her head trying to hide her flushed face before leaning in and whispering, "I advise you. Many around here are watching you and if they hear something like that, first chance they get they will go to my father or worse, Kali." That name instantly brought his once stoic features to a boiling rage as he growled. Bra laughed, shaking her head, "That is one thing that needs to be discussed. Come." She glided her way out of the tech room. Goten followed blindly, his eyes drifting down just past her waist before quickly darting back up before anyone could notice. He licked his lips unconsciously.
He didn't know how long they were walking before they came to stop outside a door. She placed one hand on a pad before voicing a strange word in what he assumed to be her language instantly causing the door to slide up. Goten followed her inside, his eyes shooting all around the room smiling at the awkward colors and abnormal shapes. "Your race has the same style as Earth it seems."
Bra giggled, "No, not quite. My mother was raised on Earth and she is the one that created all of this furniture for me. On Vegeta-sei we have no decorations such as this. No pure Sayian has taste in my opinion"
"So you are half-Sayian?"
"Yes. Would you like something to drink?"
"Water please, thank you." He traveled his way past her curvy couch and abstract coffee table to that large glass door that looked out onto the desert.
"Push that blue button." She instructed from the kitchen.
Obeying her orders, he pressed it and stood back, watching as a platform from the other side of the glass doors popped out, sliding forward before stalling about eight feet out and a railing rose from the edges of the platform. After the rail raised a few feet and stopped the glass 'window' slide away inside the wall. "That was so cool.--"
"Wait!"
Stalling his feet, Goten watched in weird surprise as a claw sprung from the inside wall holding three small pill-shaped objects in its robotic hand. It stretched outside throwing the things to the ground and with three weird 'pop' sounds two large lunge chairs and a small table appeared. The claw adjusted the new furniture to perfect order before being pulled back automatically into the wall. "Now," Goten jumped at the sound of her voice so close seeing her stand beside him, "We can go." She causally stepped out on to the makeshift balcony, setting the drink down before resting herself in the chair with a sigh.
Taking that as his sign to seat, he took it, resting himself contently, staring out into the plain desert seeing a storm approaching in the distance. Goten took up his drink, "This is a huge ship. I've never seen anything like it."
"The Sayian race is very prosperous considering what our trade is. My mother is a brilliant scientist and created everything on this ship and most of every kind of super technology in the universe. So with that and plus my father being King, money isn't a problem for us."
"I've never seen things like this before. It's really amazing."
"If your planet was in our empire, you would be just as technological advanced. But Klooer owns this territory. We risked our very lives to come here."
"I still don't understand why. All because of the pod?"
"It's a long story." Bra shook her head, glancing down into her lap. "Kind of personal."
"I understand. No need to tell me."
"Anyone around here will tell you. It's just hard for me to speak of at the moment. Anyway. The reason I brought you here is because I needed to make sure you didn't tell anyone about what you saw."
"Saw? Meaning what?"
"Kali and I."
Goten shifted his eyes to the sky, wanting to shake his head that he would never have a chance with this girl. "You two close?"
"Yes, but many things stand in our way to unite. For one my father. For the past two years we have courted. It is hard trying to keep such a secret when you are the Princess of an Empire but we've managed it. What I am asking of you is not to tell anyone. I can tell there is bad blood between you two all ready but he is your cousin and I am--"
"Don't worry. I have no reason to tell. I just hope that no matter what is between Kali and I, we can still be friends."
Bra stared at him for a moment, his black eyes so familiar and yet seemingly warmer then the ones she usually sees. It is so awkward to meet a creature that in every way resembles that of a normal Sayian and have him be so calm and actually smile. She felt flush at that expression never once seeing Kali smile at her like that. Smirking yes, but never just a pure full out friendly grin. "You are a weird creature." She whispered gently, quietly laughing.
"So people tell me."
