~~~~`` Chapter 19 Warnings
Kali stood strong and unwavering, with his arms firmly to his sides, his eyes piercing his King's. Vegeta leaned up against the wall, arms crossed over his powerful chest, calmly and perfectly passive with his eyes closed in thought. Doctors and nurses had cleared out of the Medical Ward, having no patients to look after, leaving the two alone.
Kali knew what this meeting was about and he did not feel one ounce of nervousness that he should. No, instead his anger was all that was in front of his mind and he would do nothing to hide it. He wasn't Sayian for nothing.
"You reaction towards my daughter did not go unnoticed Kali.--"
"Is that all you can think of, Vegeta?" Vegeta's eyes snapped open at the brisk response. "Bra almost died how the hell do you think I should have reacted? Are you so blind to see what is really going on? Are you oblivious to the fault which is yours?"
"What is it that you are implying, Kali?" Vegeta growled.
"It is your fault that Bra--" A hand swiftly wrapped itself around his neck, lifting him three feet in the air and slammed against a metal wall, denting it with impact. But that did not stop Kali from finishing his need to speak his words, "That Bra is in that tank. Your fault that she almost died. You betray your father's teaching, Lord." He chocked out, his throat throbbing but he swallowed in spite.
"I warn you, Kali--"
"No, Vegeta, I warn you. If you harm Bra again our sparring will no longer be practice." Vegeta barred his teeth, smashing his fist into Kali's stomach allowing the man to drop out of his hold to kneel on the floor, coughing deep rich blood. Vegeta stepped back, glaring down at the elite with disdain. However Kali was not down for good. He lifted his head, wiping the blood from his lip, letting his tail whip behind him. "Bra is your daughter. Not your soldier. Do not expect me to defend you against her any longer. And from this point on, I declare myself excommunicated for if I stay by your side I dishonor myself." Kali spit the remaining blood to the floor right next to Vegeta's boot and took off.
A bright light shined into his closed eyes causing him to squint at the annoying wake up call. The lavender haired creature groaned and moaned, his body twisting and turning with uncertainty. His eyes kept shut not allowing him to see where he was. He felt like he was in water, floating aimlessly but then, his head felt like a huge rock rested on it, crushing his skull with a migraine.
The more he kept his eyes shut the more his subconscious begged him to wake up. Something was wrong, it whispered into his ear and with that, it showed him the last image he remembered. The large view of land that he was just about to crash into. Taking in a deep gasp, the man sat up, breathing heavily in panic. His wide, scared eyes flicked about this way and that only meeting an empty room.
Still breathing through his mouth, he tried desperately to calm his thumping heart, looking down into his lap. His breath stalled. Why the hell was he naked and in a large tub of green water? Where the hell was he? His head felt so foggy, like there was something there that he wasn't remembering. And in that blockade was the knowledge of his name.
Not worrying about that at the moment, the creature lifted himself from the tub, quickly grabbing what he guessed was his clothes having been the only thing there. After putting them on he took in the rest of his surroundings only to see five other round tubs filled with the green liquid though all empty. Wires hung from the ceiling above each one, what for, he had no clue. He stood there in the middle of the room, not knowing anything.
He jumped as he heard something and just then a creature appeared before him. His eyes widened at the sight.
The alien was at least ten feet tall, with arms and legs longer then his torso but skinner then his own two fingers. The outer skin layer was completely see through with a tint of light blue allowing him to see the watery substance that ran through the alien's body. His eyes scanned the creature from his two-toed foot to the stomach that thumbed with the beat of the dark green heart to the empty chest up the 6-inch neck to the mouth-less, nose-less, ear-less, hairless face finished off with three oval shaped, black eyes in the center.
The man shrunk back in fear, holding his hands in front of him for protection. The alien cocked it's head to the side curiously. "Who are you? What do you want for me?" There was no response but then again how could there be with no mouth and no ears? He stiffened slightly as a hand was raised but instead of being pointed to his person it pointed to a wall. He didn't understand but the creature seemed to want to demonstrate what it wanted so it turned around and began walking to the wall, turning back to look at him.
Deciding he had no other choice, he followed though his mouth falling open as the creature just walked through it having not a thought less about it. He looked around, trying to find another way out, but then again thinking that maybe this is what his people can do considering that he had no idea of what or where he was. Taking a deep breath he placed his hands on the wall, relieved when they went through before stepping in all the way.
Once he was through his eyes widened at the pure white hallway that were lit by what? He didn't know. There were no light fixtures, no candles, but then again maybe that is how his world is. The other words he was thinking of might not even exist. The creature waited expectedly and continued once he saw it.
They walked many steps before coming to another halt by a wall and walking through it. The man didn't know how the creature knew where a room was considering the hallway walls looked exactly the same. When he entered the room, he stalled just by the 'door' scared out of his mind to go any further. More of the same creatures were there though some taller then others but all the same. They turned their oval shaped heads and eyes toward him and waited for him to do something. He gave a weak smile but that quickly died away.
{No reason to be frightened, Prince Trunks. No harm will befall on you.} 'Trunks's eyes flicked this way and that, his head going in circles on where that voice came from. It sounded like it was coming from inside his head. His eyes finally came to a stop on one creature that was walking toward him, however this one had upon it's head a crown of floating circles, that followed and moved in each movement the alien made. {I am Queen Koriday. And you have crashed landed on Planet Telzar. A planet you should have never been near.}
"Do you know who I am?"
{You must speak into your mind. I have not the power to hear.}
'Trunks' as she had called him contemplated on what she meant but the instant he questioned to himself he realized she could hear it. So as awkward as it felt, he thought his questioning….thoughts. {Do you know who I am?}
{Yes. I know all about you. And that you do not know yourself. Your mind has been frightened and ran from you. Your memory is nonexistent. But I can share with you what I know.}
{What happened to me?}
{You were in a ship when you were struck by a meteor shower. And crash landed on my planet. You were hurt badly and have been out for many hours. But your Sayian blood heals you better then our medicine.}
{Sayian?}
{Come, young one. There is much needed to be discussed.}
It was nice to be home again, was the first thought that popped in Bulma's mind. She smiled, closing her eyes to take in a deep breath of pure oxygen. She let the suns drown her in their warm rays. Bulma turned to the ship's exit, seeing warriors take leave into the red sky, more then likely going to find their families having been away from them for so long.
Bulma's eyes made the path that led for the palace, Vegeta had all ready taken off, hadn't talk to her since. She wondered what Kali and him had talked about and wondered where exactly he was now but that question quickly answered her. "Let me carry you. You are too weak, Lady." Much against her daughter's will, Kali lifted the female into his arms ignoring her growls of protest to let her go.
With a placid smile, Bulma followed behind as they made their way down the path road of heroes. Plaques of all soldiers that had died since the last battle that ended up in the destruction of Old Planet Vegeta-sei. Black squares lined up and down the mile road, names, their service, and when and where they died told the story of all 300,000 soldiers. Bulma herself had designed the make outs of the castle and if she did say so herself, it was the most beautiful in the galaxy. And she had seen thousands of castles.
After the Path Road of Heroes, the glass steps raised up above the moat that the light purple water flowed, the awkward fishes of Vegeta-sei swimming peacefully in the see-through river. The twenty stairs used to be trouble, but Bulma soon realized that if she wasn't fit for this place then she'd never survive.
When at the top, tan marble covered the floor outlining only three black plaques. Vegeta's father and mother, and to the far left, Trunks' and in it the square written in a white cursive were the words: 'If Tears Were a Stairway, and Memories a Lane, I Would Walk Right Up to Heaven and Bring You Home Again."
The glass large doors slide open automatically to the side allowing them entrance to the palace and directly when your feet touched the hard white marble your eyes met the Royal Family in a ten foot tall and ten foot wide frame. The painting had taken a whole year for the artist to make and it turned out perfect.
It had began when Bra had been born. She was wrapped in a red silk gown with a little hat and held tight in her mother's arms. Bulma wore a pure white gown going to her feet with a blood red velvet cape draped over her shoulders. Her crown dangled the diamond in the middle of her forehead giving off a powerful yet beauteous expression. Vegeta wore the Sayian armor that had been given to him when he took up the throne, his cape clipped to his shoulders. His crown just pure gold decorated his mane. Bulma's eyes fell to her husband's knees and next to him was the little boy that would have matched the description of Trunks when he was two. The Sayian armor decorated his small form and the necklace that would have been giving to him if had had a first birthday that proved to the world that he was the next heir of Vegeta-sei.
She smiled sadly, relieved however, that it was finally over, and her little boy could rest in piece.
"Kali."
Bulma snapped her eyes to the left and instantly met the form of Kali's rightful mate standing there in her normal armor wear, appearing to have just come from training. Her black waist-long hair was unusually down, draped over her right shoulder smoothly. Though her left side un-hidden allowing everyone to see the mark that made her Kali's.
"Natally." Kali gently set down Bra, his eyes never leaving the other female's, running a hand through his hair guiltily and nervously making his way to her.
Natally disconnected her eyes from his and glanced to the queen, "My lady." They both nodded. Then her black eyes roamed to Bra and just as nicely, "Princess." She nodded and only after a few seconds did Bra reluctantly acknowledge it. She brought her eyes back to him. "I heard you had returned and I hurried to meet you. I have missed you, mate." She raised her small hand to grace his cheek and though touching, he pulled away trying to make it barely noticeable. But she felt it. Natally dropped her hand downheartedly. "May we talk in private?"
Cold, and hard, he replied, "I have things to take care of."
"Yes I understand that. Then hunting tonight?"
"I will not promise, Natally. A soldier's work always comes first."
"Yes, I know, mate, but you have been gone for so long. I thought maybe you can get a full moon off."
"I do what is required of me without a word of complaint."
"Right. Ok. I understand." She turned dispirited to walk down the hall.
Kali sighed staring after her sorrowfully, "Natally."
Without turning but stalling in her steps, "Yeah?"
"I'll try."
She glanced back at him with a bright smile, "That is all I can expect."
Bra dropped her eyes to the ground, having not the right to feel this way or to say one word. Seeing them share a glance just caused a jealousy and a pain she couldn't face at the moment so she turned and made her way strong down the opposite hallway ignoring the pain that pounded in her head.
Kali held his head in his hands for a few seconds after Natally began to walk away again. It was so confusing at times that it caused such agony in his head. Natally was his best friend and sparring partner but he had no feelings for her. He knew she did and that was one of the reasons he treated her the way he had. He could not lead her on. It was Bra he wanted.
Remembering her, he quickly turned wanting to explain his actions only to find her walking with her hand on the wall to support her down the hall. He wanted to go after her but his queen stopped him. "You can't do this Kali."
Thinking she was talking about what he was thinking, Kali agreed. "I know. I just don't know what to do. I wish not to hurt Natally but it is inevitable ."
"No, Kali. You can't do this to Bra anymore."
"What am I doing?"
"Bra is young. She is feeling so many things and she is unsure and scared about all of them. So that is why I come to you. She will overact, try and protect herself and that is not what needs to happen. You are older, smarter, stronger. You need to stop allowing her to bond with you. You need to end it off, Kali."
"Never." He nearly growled.
"I am serious, Kali. You face too big of obstacles. Stop this forbidden treason and end it before you two form a bond."
"How can you say things like that, Bulma-sa? You of all people should understand us."
"And I do. And that is why I warn you. Have you two even thought of what would happen if you carry on like this? You know that both of you will be exiled? That you will be dishonored, your families, your children. Their pride ripped from them. This is not just about you two. Your future will be destroyed by this. And if Vegeta is angry enough, if the court is, they just might kill you for your betrayal. And your baby if you have one will be killed. Do you want that?"
"Damn it, Bulma, why are you doing this?"
"I don't want her to suffer."
"I do not either. She is a part of me."
"Then stop. For if you continue with this, Kali her whole life will end up to only suffering."
Kali backed away, his tail flapping behind him as he shook his head, "I thought you were different. I thought you would understand and support us. But once again I have been misled." With that he ran out of the glass doors.
