~~~~~```` Chapter 34 --Confusion
Goten eyes snapped open. Without a single thought his arms tightened around his precious creature and he shoved their bodies from the bed, making sure for him to land hard on the solid ground rather then his once slumbering mate. The fire crackled upon the bed, that he heard from the whoosh that suddenly took over the bed sheets and sliding down to the one that covered them. He tore it from her body caring nil for her nakedness. "Goten what?" She questioned her eyes squinting too weak to realize what exactly was going on.
"Someone's in the room." He panted heavily back, his anxiety skyrocketing at the sudden intrusion. His eyes scanned the area around him but the man was obvious on the opposite side of the bed. His hand reached out for her robe that draped across the near chair and laid it over her. "Stay down. Okay?" She quickly nodded holding the material close to her body.
He slowly got to his knees however crouching in the protection of the bed. The ki was unbelievably strong however familiar. Too familiar. His breath picked up for a moment as a sudden thought came across. What if it was Kali? No, he mentally shook his head not possibly. He cautiously peaked out from over the smoking blankets however was quick to snap his head back down as a ki blast cleared directly over his head. His hands quickly patted the small fires that singed his pointy hair.
Goten heard footsteps. Boots stepped in front of the bed; he heightened his ki, crossing his arms over his face and chest, ready to block for an attack. He stood quickly in front of his female just as the man stepped before them.
The palm was out and ready for another blast all though he stalled finding the expression on the man semi-humorous. Do these creatures hang their mouths open for a reason, was Trunks's first thought. And his black eyes were as wide as they could possibly go. What was it this creature was staring at that made him too shocked to speak?
His sky eyes drifted, loosing interest in this awe-struck male down to the woman who stared, covered barely in a satin blood red robe, at him with nearly the same expression. Was he that scary looking? Yeah sure he hadn't eaten for a few hours and the sun had not visited him while in the cell for two days but truly did he look that awful? Though even his own musings stalled by the sight before him. The female's eyes captured him just as much as her color had. Why were they the same? Why hadn't Lord Klooer told him of this so he would not be distracted in his mission? Why hadn't his master prepared him?
This upset him. He wanted answers from his Lord now but the only way he could return is with the strange female. His eyes bolted back to the naked man. "Get out of my way. Or die."
A grin quickly plastered it's self to the mortal's face. A quick laugh before he pulled on his boxers and practically ran to him, the giant wrapping his bulky arms around his small form. Trunks was ready to burn the man but his voice stopped him. Something so calming about this sound. So familiar. "Arcadia." He whispered before he broke out in a loud laugh that hurt his sensitive ears, "I can't believe it's you! How the hell did you find us!?" The man detached himself, looked at him then once again swallowed him in an uncomfortable bear hug, "This is great! I missed you bro! Nice wake up call! Like I haven't been through that before!" He laughed pulling away again just to gaze at him, "Does dad know you're here? What about mom? I bet mom had cried hadn't she? No, more then likely screamed you to all hells."
"Goten?" That name? That name…Queen Koriday had said something so close to that. Was that it? Was that the name of his….no. No. It was a different one. His family had perished along with the rest of his Earth.
Trunks observed as the young male turned and helped the woman stand bringing her into his side, her robe now protectively wrapped around her. "I guess you saw, huh? So what do you think? She's beautiful, isn't she?" He gazed back at her, kissing her lips softly and that is what ended his fading patience.
"Enough talk. Master is waiting." Trunks reached forward and yanked at the female's arm, who cried at the sudden pain from his strong hand. She protested, grabbing for her lover. Goten confusingly stared at this man before him, holding on to his new mate. There was something wrong with him. The eyes, they were clouded.
"Arcadia, stop it." Goten chided, a little unsure now who it was he was talking to exactly.
However the man refused to listen and tightened his grip that resulted in the female whimpering before her hand left her lover's arm to punch him in his face. But Trunks quickly caught it in his palm, smirking deviously. He tightened his hand, basking in the young woman's cries.
Goten's features hardened. No, something just wasn't right. This wasn't Arcadia. He would never hurt a female in his life. But what was he to do? Fight his brother? No matter if he seemed not himself this was still family. "Arcadia." He protested his hand resting upon theirs to stop the man's painful grip.
Trunks' eyes shot to the weakling. This man knew him. He could feel it. The one called Goten just might know more about his past, and more willing to tell him then Master was. No! Trunks' lips turned into a frown. Master had protected, saved, and loved him like no one else. He will not betray Master. Time to get rid of this nuscinece. Trunks ripped his hand from the two and without thought slammed his fist in the man's nose watching him fly back into the flames of the bed. Without seeing the end result, Trunks turned his back, holding the screaming and protesting female's arm.
Bra struggled the best she could but this grip on his arm was like melted metal that had surrounded her skin. No way to break it. She was dragged literally but she would fight for all she was worth. After seeing Goten being thrown toward the bed, luckily flying over the burning sheets and landing on the opposite side, she had sighed in relief however her eyes only widened when his head hit the nightstand. He was knocked out cold.
She screamed and punched at her kidnapper, but he seemed indifferent to it. "Let me go!" She screamed digging her nails into his skin, though as always it did nothing. No, the only way to get out of here was Goten. She turned her head toward him while quickly grasping the doorframe of her bedroom, "Goten wake up! Get up! Save me Goten! He's too strong! I can't get away! Do not let him take me!" She prayed silently his Sayian instincts would overcome his unconsciousness. But as it would for a normal Sayian, Goten wasn't anything but the ordinary. She breathed when she saw his features flex in pain. He was waking. Bra wanted to go to him with all her will. She heightened her weakened strength to all that she could muster and slammed her fist right between his shoulder blades.
His eyes snapped to hers in sudden surprise like it had been the first time he had felt her actually trying to hurt him. But her strength was now gone, not because she had put all of it into her hit but because of his eyes. The sudden realization of the eyes. The impossible blue. And the coldness. Her father's coldness. "Trunks?" She whispered witnessing the falter of his expression. "Brother?"
Trunks for one instant he forgot his mission when that name fell from her lips. Was it possible? Of course it was! Why hadn't he thought of it before! He has been gone for eighteen years; they certainly could have hundreds of other children. He could have more brothers and sisters. That is why Master wanted her! Would he hurt her? No, master wouldn't hurt her. He wouldn't allow it.
His free hand suddenly gripped his head. His temples were throbbing, enough pain to cause a groan to pass his lips. No. She was nothing to him. She was his replacement. They had kept her. Why? Because she was weak. They did not fear her strength. Only his. He should hate her. He should be jealous. And he was. This female took his place. She had the life he had always craved. Master will do her justice. Master would make her suffer as he has suffered. It is only what she deserved. "I am no brother. Master is my family." And while his grip was weakened he tugged her along. She lost her grip on the doorway and once again was dragged across the floor of the living room.
Bra however figured it all out. The lost expression he had seen. He has no idea who he is or what's going on. "Goten! He lost his memory! Sayians never forget, Goten! He needs a trigger! Something that will remind him!" She screamed out, her hand grabbing at the sofa however it just moved with them as he continued toward the door. "Goten! Help me! If you don't I will die!"
And that was all Goten needed. He shook his paining hand, flew out over the burning bed and out the doorway, sending a small ki blast right for his opponent's knee. The man crashed to the floor, releasing his hold on the female. Bra was quick to run into his arms.
Trunks turned, his eyes nearly slits staring at the couple. His rage burned within him. He would get to master with the girl no matter who he needed to kill. The crazy, stupid black haired man was number one on his list.
Goten met the man's expression and quickly put his mate behind him. "Where is the intercom for help?"
"In the bedroom."
"I will distract him while you go in there. But no fast movements. He is faster then I. He must not be distracted from me. But don't go until I tell you to."
"You plan to fight him?"
A smirk approached Goten's lips. "I have known him all my life. I know all of his moves."
"But he is so strong?"
"We are nearly even. I can stall him long enough for more people to get here."
"You do know that I can hear every word you speak? I am Sayian." Trunks smirked smugly crossing his arms over his chest ignoring the pain in his knee.
Bra gasped at the stance. He was so much like her father it was unbelievable. This was her brother. Oh, gods this was him. How many years has she heard of him? And prayed for his return? How many times had she wished he had never been born?
It was silent when Goten took a step forward watching in amusement as Arcadia lowered himself into a fighting position. "I always wanted to fight you big brother. Always wanted to know how I would do without you going easy on me."
"I will retrieve that female and bring her to master. You will not stand in my way."
"OH, but I will."
"Then I shall kill you as Master instructed."
Goten sadly sighed, his brows knitting, "What has he done to you?"
"I see more clearly then ever before."
"And how is that?"
"I see the truth beyond the lies. The Royal family rid me of this world and now I will have my revenge."
Goten had no idea what he was talking about, however Bra spoke up from behind with all the answers. "The royal family sent you away because--"
"I was unwanted."
Tears sprung to her eyes. It angered her so that he would believe that. That after all their suffering because of him he would say such a cruel and utterly false statement. "That is not true." She whispered, her throat hurting with threatening tears. "They were in danger. And to save you they had to send you away."
"Lies."
"I know the truth, Trunks. I have been around and I have seen our parents suffer. Believe me when I say they have wished nothing but to have you in their arms."
However these words of comfort only angered him. He growled and without warning shot off a blast to shut her lies but Goten absorbed it into his palm. "Bra." He whispered, "Be quiet. I don't want him to get angry. I have known him my whole life. He is stubborn. He won't believe you unless you somehow prove it."
"But how do we get him to see it?"
His eyes flicked over his best friend's face. And instantly the answer flashed in front of him. "My wallet. In my pants find it for me." Goten stepped forward, keeping the sky eyes upon him instead of the woman that slowly backed away. And when a blast shot out again for her, Goten caught it and batted it right back at him. Trunks dodged it, letting it hit the door behind him. It blew to pieces, debris flying every which way. "Where have you been these past few months, Arcadia?"
"I need not to tell you anything. Master told me to keep quiet."
"And since when did you listen to anyone? You never listened to mom let alone anybody else, ever since we were kids."
"You make up lies."
"I do have a very good imagination don't I? But come on, Arcadia, when do you ever remember me lying to you? Even when I did actually try you saw right through me each time. I could never keep a secret from you."
"I am not this person." He growled, getting fed up with this stupid and pointless conversation. His master was waiting for him. Why didn't he just blast this being for being in his way? Master will explain it. Master knows everything. "My family was killed. And the ones that created me threw me away and killed the ones that took care of me. I will have my revenge. I will kill them."
"You? Kill? Arcadia, I've known you my whole life and you've never killed a single animal let alone could you kill a person."
"I have."
Goten's brows knit, disappointed in himself. He should have protected his brother. "I'm sorry." Goten brought his black eyes up to him. "I'm sorry I didn't come after you. I shouldn't have let you leave all by yourself. And I should have known something was wrong when Seneca called me." Goten's head cocked the side, not missing the widened of lavender brows. There was still a chance. "Do you even remember Seneca?"
"Se…Seneca?"
Goten felt the nudge on his hand; Arcadia was not paying attention so he quickly grabbed the wallet from his mate however it was a stupid mistake. The lavender boy caught the sudden movement and without thought, the lost noble flew straight and smashed his fist into the other man's face. Goten was flung back but luckily the wall caught him, cracking against his back. He groaned and shook his head but when he heard his mate scream Goten snapped to his feet caring nil for the pain. Goten flew at the two departing creatures, wrapping his arm tight around his opponent's neck. He released Bra who quickly stumbled back to the protection of the bedroom doorway. Goten held the man tightly against him, powering to the extreme to keep the struggling older Sayian in his grasp. "I never knew you to be so careless with your enemy. You must be in a hurry. But before you go, Bro, take a look at this." Goten flipped his wallet open with his free hand and shoved the picture in front of the fighting man's face allowing him to look no where else.
And instantly, the struggling stalled. Goten leaned over his brother's shoulder finding the man's mouth open, eyes wide staring at a woman and an exact replica of himself with his arms wrapped around her waist, both smiling happily at the camera. "Do you remember her? I hope you do. You've only been in love with her since the ninth grade. And when you return home, you're going to marry her. You got the ring all picked out and everything. She's worried about you. Waiting for you to come back." The shaking hands of the male rose and grabbed hold of the picture. Goten slowly lessened his hold before stepping back watching the shocking expression on his brother's face. He turned to his mate, smirking, reassuring her it was okay with a nod of his head.
"She…She is on Earth?" He questioned, swallowing never raising his eyes from it.
"Yep." He smiled.
However that instant, his arms chriss crossed in front of him, and he quickly ran before his mate to protect her from the projected power that erupted from his brother. "Arcadia, What is it!" He yelled.
Trunks screamed heartbrokenly through his power. The ground cracking beneath him. "She does not wait for me for she is dead! I will avenge her just as I will avenge myself!" A bright gold light flooded the room, blinding them both.
