~~~~`````` Chapter 38-- Have Faith
Informing his brother of his son's disappearance was one of the hardest things yet he had to do. Beside that of facing his mate once again without the appearance of distaste upon his brow. Radditz found Kakarot in the protection of the mountain, playing joyfully with other battle driven kids that were denied permission to head into battle. He shook his head with a chuckle, his father beside him, giving a secret support to reveal this devastated piece of information. Kakarot saw them out of the corner of his eyes and waved too human for their liking, but nodded indifferent and gestured him to come to them. The young man snatched up his recently crawling granddaughter who squealed in delight and instantly attached her small fingers to his hair. He strolled up to them without a care in the world, "What's up? Need my help in the fight? I really want to spar. It's boring down here."
"Gather up your family, Kakarot, we are moving you to the castle."
Goku looked at them strangely cocking his head to the side with a brow rose, "What's going on?"
"Just get your family, son." By this time, Gohan and his mate approached with a suspicious brow and Chi-Chi wiping her hands on her apron poked her head out of the tent.
"Grandpa, have you see Goten? I've been looking for him and I can't find his ki." Gohan asked, taking his child from his father's hold.
Maybe everyone else missed the reflection that filled the Sayian blackness of their cold eyes, but Chi-Chi certainly had not. She stalled her musings and quickly went to them, "Where is my Goten? I demand an answer." By then every Sayian within a block radius had heard the words and gathered around the awkward family, still so new to their culture they did not know how to treat them.
Bardock took a step back by the sudden fright in the woman. She sure can be scary when she wishes. His eyes darted around, all wondering just why the Second in Command, and Lead Communication Specialist were not up in the castle or at the front commanding orders to soldiers. He floated upward, knowing they all needed to know the same, and plus it would take away the pressure of telling his own son what had happened.
"Recently," He bellowed over the dome, getting every one's attention just like the queen had. "Something the Queen does not believe and had refused to tell you, the Prince of Vegeta-sei has been returned to us!" Murmurs and gasps filled the room before an uplift of cries from them echoed throughout. He raised his hand, hating the fact that he was the one giving this news.
"However!" That quickly stopped their chattering. "King Vegeta had a brief interlude with Klooer who had the Prince in his hold for only Vela knows how long. The King stole his child back and that is why we begin our battle of all battles today. But there was a miscalculation. A misjudgment you can say. Prince Trunks could have very well been in Klooer's capture this whole time, hence the reason we have not found him until now. It was a ploy. Klooer wanted the King to steal the child to start this war. And while King Vegeta is busy conducting his forces, the Prince steals the Princess behind our backs." Shrills filled the room, all now worried and afraid for their Princess. "Along with the Princess, who now may be in Klooer's hold, they have stolen…" His eyes darted down to Kakarot, "My Grandson." The man's eyes widened and Gohan nearly missed to catch his fainted mother.
After a moment, he reluctantly ripped his eyes away to glare at every one of them. "Do not think that the Prince is a Traitor. We were once suppressed by Frieza to do biddings our honor would reprimand for us now. We will get all of them back before this war ends. The King and Queen have suffered enough and we shall not allow it any longer. Be rest assured Klooer will fall today." He dropped down ignoring the war cries of the non-fighters, the children too small for swordplay, and the crippled; too weak to fight however their spirits went out to the battlefields.
Kakarot now had gotten his composure, stood strong before his father, more Sayian then Bardock had yet to see. The fire was alighted in his eyes. A Sayian's inferno. "I want to get Goten back."
"Me too." Gohan chimed in giving his mother to a Sayian female who would tend to her.
Bardock nodded, "The King will more then not agree considering your power. But as much as I know you want to go straight to Klooer, Kakarot it does not work like that. You must obey him. He is a smart leader. He knows what he speaks. He will get your son back safe as his own brats. But do know, Klooer belongs to Vegeta. You are not to take him upon yourself. It is the king's right." Both the Sayian's nodded and quickly followed behind.
Finding the King was harder then it appeared. Bardock, using only his senses of smell to guide him, after ten minutes of searching the wide castle, he had finally befallen upon his young King. He had left his son in the care of Radditz filling in the airy creature of all that was going on while Bardock left to go find Vegeta. And this is where he had been hiding, ki too low to read on the new scoter. Bra's room.
What a mess. A duel had certainly taken place. Perhaps between brother and sister, or Goten had fought the supposed traitor. Either way they had blasted the wall of her room out. Bardock stepped over the shambles of wood and destroyed furniture, eyes darting this way and that at the fallen debris. Towing through the ruined living room, to the blasted doorframe. Quickly smelling the air to make sure he was right, Bardock stepped through the hole, eyes finding the burnt bed, and wreckage of the bathroom before he met the body of his defeated King in a corner on a chair. His elbows rested upon his knees while his head was held in his hands. A discouraging position to say the least.
Bardock shook himself of his own doubt, straightening his shoulders as he did so. He needed to be strong for his king. For his friend. That would be the only way to get Vegeta to go back and face reality. "Vegeta, your soldiers await you." Vegeta made no movement from his defeated place, breathing all the same, as if he had not even heard anyone enter the room. Bardock's tail swayed in apprehensive movements, instinctively knowing this was dangerous territory he was treading into. "Klooer won't kill them, Vegeta. He values them too much--"
"I have failed." A whisper only Sayian ears could pick up but surprising to hear nonetheless. Bardock stumbled and it took him a minute to regain his full composure.
"A lie you speak."
"Reality is something you never faced, Bardock." Vegeta whispered, leaning back in the chair now, resting his head against the wall however refusing to bring his shame filled eyes from the ground. "Both of my blood are in the hands of the enemy. Explain to me how I have failed not."
Bardock straightened his head, giving the king exactly what he needed to hear. "The war has only just begun. You speak as though you know the ending."
"You speak as though you don't."
"I don't. And do not say you do. You underestimate yourself and your heirs. They have both of your genius and your strength. Give them faith and they will fight."
"Faith." Vegeta spat the word as if vile upon his lips. "Faith in what?"
"That you will win."
"I have no such faith let alone am I able to give it to them."
Bardock brows widened in mock. "Are you admitting you can't do something?"
"Go away, Bardock."
The faithful servant nodded and bowed, turning to the door but not before releasing a few more words. "You have changed, King. You're father would look down on you in shame." He received the desired response. Vegeta flung from his chair, his eyes now raging. Bardock faced him strong.
"Do not dare speak of my father."
"You know I speak the truth." He stalled only for a second when Vegeta took a menacing step toward him. "He would scorn you for your attitude. You are royal, boy! You have noble blood through your veins and yet you speak defeated! How would your son look upon you if he heard such? How would your daughter feel if she knew you had no intention to save her? How will your mate react when she lays eyes upon her dead children all because of your lack of faith."
"For all I know, my children are all ready dead. My mate has suffered too much for my pride to handle. I have failed Bardock. I admit that now. I see what I pretended not too."
"You fail now because you want to. You can easily defeat Klooer but you fear. What is it that you fear, Vegeta? What is it that is stalling you from killing Klooer at this very instant? If you truly believed your brats were dead, then you would be out there seeking revenge as we speak. Your mate suffers for Klooer holds her blood, your instinct as Sayian is to avenge her pain. But all of this is not the reason you hesitate. I cannot fathom why you have yet to spill blood. You are powerful--"
Vegeta turned quickly away, "Not enough."
"What?"
"He is stronger. I felt his energy. He will win. His kingdom might fall but once he defeats me he will build it again."
Bardock smiled, chuckling ever so softly. "Vegeta you are as misguided as ever." The man's black eyes spun to connect with his. "I do believe we had this very same conversation against Frieza. He may be stronger now, but in the end, you will triumph. Do you not see yet, Vegeta? You are destined to rule this universe. Your father knew such, which is the only reason he let you mate a human. You are discouraged now, it is understandable. But weather you want to believe it or not, you are the legendary. Klooer knows that, why do you think he waited so long? Not only that but you have billions of creatures believing in that. Including your daughter and your son. Now stop this self-pity. Your empire awaits you. Your blood awaits. And your mate awaits you. She is in need of you now. Do not turn your back as before. She is in your throne room." Bardock bowed deeply quickly taking his exit.
Goten held Bra with one arm while they faced the lizard that was at the moment talking with Trunks in a whispered voice. The words they spoke were lost to the half-breeds but it was obvious whatever it was, Trunks refused to listen to any of it. Each time, the lavender haired prince jumped from the ground to attack he was always swatted away, slamming into the ground or wall. Why Trunks was fighting at all with his full power was beyond each of the two, but Goten had had enough of his older brother getting beat up. He pushed Bra protectively behind him, "Hey, leave him alone." Getting a humorous purple smirk in response.
"Good one, Goten." Bra chided.
Klooer, after making sure Trunks was not going to get up any time soon, turned the couple. His eyes darting to find all of his males unconscious on the ground. He rolled his blood orbs back to the new creature. "And who is this?" His tone seductively, evil.
Goten shivered at the voice, never feeling such a devil power before. "I'm Goten. I'm Arcadia's brother."
"Arcadia?" Klooer questioned but was answered when the young one pointed to the male upon the floor. "How impossible that is. For this is the heir to the Sayian throne."
"Maybe in another life. But he lived with me his whole life. He's no prince."
"Blood tells no lies like words from a creature's mouth. I do not like you."
"Great. We have something in common."
"At least you have spunk. Princess, who is this that my pet has brought?"
"No one you care to know, Klooer. He has nothing to do with any of this. You can send him back right now."
"Oh…" A smirk soon presented itself. Klooer re-materialized only to reappear behind Bra. Goten's black eyes however were found upon him. So the creature has speed. Nothing to worry about. His finger slid up the princess's arm, he leaned it, gently rubbing his nose into her hair, chuckling softly at the sudden growl he received, "So protective of you, Princess."
Bra pleaded with her lover with desperate eyes, trying her hardest to not shake her head for Klooer would surely notice but Goten seemed to ignore her wishes, as he yanked her behind him now, to be before Klooer. "Don't touch her." He bit through clenched teeth.
Klooer chuckled with an evil smirk, "It appears someone has gotten herself a mate." The ice-jin took a step back, "A weakness that will surely bring a quickened downfall."
Bra saw the flash of something strike in Klooer's eyes. Her body shook at what he could possibly be thinking. "What do you mean, Klooer?"
"You will see soon enough, my Beautiful Noble. Retrieve your brother. My plans have just been altered and I should hurry if I want the still ending result."
~~~~~`````

Vegeta stalled at the open doorway. His mate's back was to him, her eyes staring through the wide glass of the throne room, watching the ships and individual Sayians fly through the air heading for their respective positions. What would he say to her? He knew not to deal with his own fault how could he plead for himself with her?

He shut the door, getting Bulma's attention. Her eyes bloodshot yet no more tears fell from the swollen orbs. She came to him, and he met her in the center of the room keeping their eyes upon each other, knowing not where else to turn. No matter the pain they both were in for their loss, Vegeta did not ever find her eyes so blue. Big and beautiful as they always were. What these eyes were able to make him do. He would have given his whole empire away had his father not allowed it, just for this woman and her eyes. And how blue they were when she had told him those words he never thought he would have ever heard in his entire life.

He stumbled when she suddenly threw her arms around him, burying her head into his shoulder, her shoulders shaking violently with her silent sobs. It only took Vegeta a second to respond, wrapping her up in his strong arms, holding her protectively in his embrace. He buried his nose in her long blue hair; taking in her scent he craved so much.

Long minutes past between the quiet couple before Bulma began to retreat herself, ashamed of her weak action but he caught her cheek, resting his forehead down upon hers, feeling the quaking of her tears she tried desperately to stifle. He had never seen her cry this way for nineteen years. Yes, tears were common but not this brutal. "Come now, woman." He whispered with a gentle demand. "Tears are only to be shed if all is lost."

"Is it not?" She chocked. "Is it not over now that he has our daughter and in your eyes our son? Has he not won?"

"You speak as if I do not plan to retrieve them." He'll admit it. Bardock had rejuvenated him to some extent of his will power. Even if some words he spoke to the woman he did not believe himself, he needed her to believe it.

"You fight against him, he may kill her. If she is not yet dead. It is too dangerous, Vegeta. I have lost one child. Please, I do not want to lose another."

"Woman." He whispered getting her eyes. "We fight, she may or may not die. We don't, she may see a fate worse then death. We may all see a path none of us wish to ever see. I will ask something of you now, I have not asked for years. Trust me, Bulma."

Her hands gripped his that held her face and without a moment's hesitation. "With all my heart, I trust you."

He smirked, leaning in to take her lips, just lightly, lingering while he whispered, "Leave this weakness behind. Klooer will not win. No matter what it takes, our brats will be safe soon enough."

"You think…" A voice echoed.
