Authors note: first off I want to say, I know I know a Spiderman DBZ crossover? Your probably wondering what kind of drugs I'm 'crossing over' well normally I would agree. But I'm so excited about the new spider man movie that I couldn't contain my joy. So I started to think (a dangerous thing I know) and out popped this story. Another thing; for real I don't know much about Spiderman. Something I plan to change soon. But for now I'm going by what I remember from the cartoon, what I read in the 'Spiderman movie book' and just things I'm going to make up. Anyway work with me and enjoyJ

Tucked deep with a dark poorly lighted lab, Doctor Brief worked at a feverous pace. He was almost done with his all time greatest invention. In record time no less, it had only been a few weeks since he had a vision. If anyone normal had seen such things they would be called crazy. They would most likely to spend some serious time in a Looney bin. But Brief wasn't normal, he was a scientist and unlike the rest of the world he had the knowledge and the resources to make his dreams into reality.
Doc Brief: There we go kitty. Just a few more adjustments…there. I'm finished.
Brief stood back from his masterpiece after closing the small access panel he had been working with. A smile with a rarely see smug look touched his face. He was proud. As proud as a new father seeing his babe for the first time. The machine was huge, literally taking up the space of a small room. Fortunally Briefs lab was huge so the machine only took the far, and darkest corner. It wasn't much to look at, just a hunkering piece of steel, wires and buttons. In the middle sat a huge screen. It gleamed against the harsh dim light, giving this plain machine an almost sinister cast. It was the eye of the monster. It was the window into the storm.
Doc Brief: There now, all we need is to test it.
The small black cat on his shoulder meowed loudly. The doctor nodded as he could understand the animal…perhaps he did.
Doc Brief: Your right Kitty. It'll take a lot of power…more than I got going to the lab. Wonder why I didn't think about it before. Hmmm what to do???
The cat meowed again a direct and loud sound, surprising for such a small animal.
Doc Brief: Of course. How can I be so stupid? Why I got two batteries, a grandson and his sire. They should have more than enough.
Patting the kitten lovingly. Brief started for the kitchen, which from experience he knew was the most likely place for saiy-jins to be.
When he finally reached the kitchen he was somewhat disappointed. Only Trunks and his friend Goten where there. Vegeta was nowhere to be seen.
Doc Brief: Trunks have you seen Vegeta?
Trunks was so surprised at his simple question that he choked. Never in his life has his grandfather even paid the littlest of attention to his father. Trunks couldn't remember having even heard his grandfather saying Vegeta's name before. And suddenly he was asking where he was.
Trunks: No I haven't…why???
Brief thought for a moment. He didn't think Trunks had enough power…sure he was strong. But he wasn't allowed to become a super saiy-jin. That power Brief knew for a fact was just too violent for machines.
Suddenly Kitty meowed again. Brief looked up and followed Kitty's line of sight.
Goten!!!!
Briefs mind was racing! Together they should do all right. It was better than nothing. Hell it might even work.
Doc Brief: Never mind. Trunks Goten, would you mind helping me down in the lab.
Goten: Cool!
Once again Trunks was surprised. Grandpa had never invited them down before. And for obvious reasons, they tended to break things
Trunks: Sure???
So together they headed down toward the lab. Briefs hung behind staring straight ahead into space. He let Trunks lead the way. The boy was wearing a black muscle shirt and combat pants. Trunks probably thought it made him look tough. Doc Brief startled suddenly when he noticed where he was staring…the boys middle back? When had he gotten so tall? Thinking rapidly, Briefs realized that Trunks was already 17 years old. By Kami had it been that long already? Seems like only yesterday when Bulma came crying to him telling him she was pregnant. Briefs pushed that thought aside…he didn't like to think about that. It hadn't been his best day.
Especially after he gave Vegeta a piece of his mind, which had surprised them both. On his side he was scared to death of Vegeta, and on Vegeta's side that he was screaming at him…and that Bulma was having a baby. Apparently she hadn't told him yet, and Brief in his state of seeing red hadn't realized that. Well he didn't kill me, so everything worked out for the better. He suspected that Vegeta even respected him a little after that.
What bothered him more was the fact that Vegeta refused to marry. Bulma had once said they didn't need to; that there was something between them so powerful, that getting married would only be a mockery to it. Still it bothered him that the world thought Trunks was a Bastard and that some (who were obviously jealous) called Bulma a whore and worse.
Once they entered the lab Brief passed them and lead them to the large newly constructed machine.
Goten: What is it??
Doctor Brief smiled.
Doc Brief: A trans-communicating sub nuclear Vacuum with a transmission Verbatim and mass distributing capability into the parallel sub earth plain. Or what I lovingly call a TVE
*blink blink*
Was all he got from the young boy.
Trunks: It sees and beams stuff to other dimensions.
Doc Brief: Right!
Goten: Cool!!!
Trunks: So what you need help with?
Doc Brief: This machine takes a lot of power. So if you would each of you pick up a wire.
Brief gestured toward two huge wires. Each wire was at least as thick as an arm.
Doc Brief: Just power up…oh ya and what ever you do don't become super saiy-jins.
Goten: What happens if we do?
Brief: The machine will blow up.
Goten: Oh?
Picking up their wires they both shrugged and powered up. The machine instantly came to life. But still Brief couldn't get a signal to register. So screaming over the roar of the two boys power he said.
Brief: More power.
Complying the boys took it up a notch. Still nothing…pretty soon both boys were sweating. This was hard. They were both at their limits…and fighting not to transform.
Suddenly without warning the machine started beeping in warning. Briefs eyes widened as he screamed for the boys to drop the wire…it was to late however! The machine short-circuited causing all the power the boys put into it tearing back into their bodies. They both screamed as the pain hit them. They had no choice, transform or die. They couldn't stop…they both transformed….
And disappeared.
Brief stood there a moment, blinking like an idiot. Just like Goten had done a moment before.
Suddenly he whirled around and scanned the readout. And for the first time in his life…he swore.
Doc Brief: Oh shit!
Kitty: Meowwww….
