Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Strong, and Tough, and Most Importantly, Very Proud ❯ Strong, and Tough, and Most Importantly, Very Proud ( One-Shot )
Frieza, this person, this particular ice-jin was the source of Vegeta's fury.
Frieza meant pain. Frieza meant sadness. Frieza meant death . . .
To Prince Vegeta, it meant betrayal.
The saiya-jins were a ruthless race. Saiya-jins were strong and tough, and most importantly, very proud. They loved to kill; oh did they love to kill. They were simply perfect for Frieza's manipulations.
King Vegeta agreed to Frieza's deal, unknowing to what would actually become of his planet that he prided so much in. King Vegeta made a deal with the devil.
At a young age, Prince Vegeta trained his hardest, living up to what was expected of a saiya-jin prince. The prince could take down full-grown male saiya-jins and yet he hadn't even reached the age of 10. Prince Vegeta had learned that he had lost his father by the hands of Frieza and yet, he kept the pain inside, not shedding a single tear. He had grown up, strong and tough, and most importantly, very proud.
The Prince decided to shove his past behind him. Dwelling on his non-existant emotions would only declare him weak. And so, Prince Vegeta resumed his training.
It wasn't long before the royal Prince became bored. He went to go talk to this Frieza who was controlling his race. Prince Vegeta would talk to Frieza and ask him for an impossible mission. The Prince was a saiya-jin who loved challenges. He was just what Frieza had wanted him to become.
Without even facing the saiya-jin prince, Frieza had told his advisors to give him the best mission he had. To Vegeta the mission would be something to dismiss his boredom. To Frieza, it was hope that the Prince would be killed.
It happened when Vegeta was leaving the planet he'd destroyed single handily. Kaanru, Frieza's assistant had buzzed into his radio, "Vegeta-sei has been destroyed by a large asteroid. Frieza sends his regrets." Vegeta, a lonely saiya-jin, had kept a stiff face. He seemed to not care, but inside it tore him apart. He could be the last saiya-jin alive.
It was later; that he realized that Frieza was the one that destroyed his people. Frieza was his culprit. Frieza had betrayed him . . .
And now, Vegeta faced a creature that reminded him of the cold-blooded killer. Buu.
Buu may not have the same face as Frieza, the same voice or the same crude personality. But Buu was trying to destroy the living saiya-jins. Vegeta's people.
And . . . Buu would destroy his family as well. Buu had to be stopped. Vegeta would not face Buu as he did Frieza. Vegeta was murderous; he wanted Buu to die a horrible death.
Vegeta yelled out, his teal Super saiya-jin eyes were filled with rage. This was for Bulma, this was for Trunks and heck, this was for Kakarot.
Burning energy absorbed him and his target. After that, all Vegeta felt was extreme pain.
. . . And then it was over. Vegeta's soul separated from his body.
The smoke slowly faded away . . . and Vegeta was alone in the air above the crater. He had turned to rock.
Vegeta's soul floated above his stone body. He didn't know if his power would be enough to destroy Buu. Vegeta felt a sense of comfort although, he had given his life up for this world and perhaps he might have saved it. The Prince of Saiya-jins turned away. He had given his life just as Kakarot had done many times.
'It's time to go,' he thought and his spirit flew away heading to King Emma.
As Vegeta's spirit left, his stone body fell from the sky and crashed into the center of the crater . . .
Later
"Goku? What happened?"
Goku stared at the others with a serious gaze.
"Come on Goku," said Krillin standing by Goku's side.
Goku's eyes tightened as his fists clenched. He swallowed. He didn't know if he could do it. He didn't know if he could tell them. But Goku knew he had to.
"Gohan . . . and Vegeta . . . They're dead . . ." he said opening his eyes, keeping a straight face.
Goku looked around, looking at their expressions. He was torn in the inside.
Bulma caught his attention.
"Vegeta! No!" she cried falling to her knees, scraping them on the flooring. Bulma, she was a wreck. Tears dripped off her cheeks, wetting the ground beneath her. "You can't! You can't die!"
Goku slowly walked over to her, his face still solid. "Bulma," he spoke. "Please try to stay strong. Vegeta wouldn't want you to be like this."
Bulma looked up at him and he laid a hand on her shoulder.
"Vegeta was strong, and tough and most importantly, proud" whispered Goku . . .
Vegeta watched from hell. "Kakarot, keep my family safe . . . " he whispered a silent plea.
