Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Summer Days ❯ Trunks' Feelings ( Chapter 6 )
"I saw him!! He left with her - to her hotel room!!" cried Pan through her tears that flowed uncontrolably. She was sobbing so hard she could barely breath. She took the tissue that Bra had handed her and wiped her face. "I don't know why he's doing this! This was OUR vacation together and he goes and - and -" and the black haired woman fell in her best friend's arms and wept. The rest of the gang in the hotel room watched with agony and remorse towards the purple haired sayian.Goten shook his head, "How could Trunks do that?" Marron agreed, "Yeah I mean, sure he's a flirt but he would never go to a hotel room and -"
"Well he did have a bit too much to drink." concluded Ubbu matter of factly and Pan cried even harder. Gohan rubbed his temples. He was very upset with Trunks. He loved Pan and to see her crushed by something , someone did, killed him. "I'm nothing to him!" cried Pan, "Nothing at all! He'll never change. Why did I think that I was the one for him?! WHY?! I KNEW what he was! Why couldn't I just look past the good looks and attitude? I'm so stupid! I'm just another girl to flirt with to him!!"
"Don't say that." came a voice from the door way. Every head turned. It Trunks standing there with a stirn look on his face, his board short strings dangled. "YOU!!" hissed the black haired woman as she stood from the bed and ran towards him like a rabid cat. Her friends tried to hold her back but she squeezed through, shoved Trunks into the wall and slapped him with all her might. She tried to continue in beating him senseless but the strong man held her back by her shoulders allowing a few strong hits to his chest and shoulders. Her blows became weaker as she sobbed and collapsed in his arms. He struggled to hold her up right. In dishearted whispered she cried, "You pathetic, immature, rancid, cold hearted, two timing, son of a -"
"Pan please!" he cried. But she gave him another slap into the wall and ran out the door crying and stumbling. Bra quickly ran after her shoving Trunks out of the way and Trunks quickly grabbed the door frame to prevent him from falling. The rest of the z-gang in the room were silent as they stared at him in anger and dissapointment. Gohan who stood near him had his arms crossed as he said in a stirn firey voice, "How could you?" Trunka rolled his eyes, "Gohan, I didn't do anything. I came to-"
"You didn't do anything?!" now Gohan was down right angry with him, "Pan sees you and that trashy woman slip to a hotel room and yet you didn't do anything?!?!?!" Trunks quickly stood to Gohan and retorted, "She's not trash!" His eyes wondered to the rest of the tribe knowing he wasn't on anyone's good side, "Look I know what I did back there at the bar didn't look very good, but I promise you, nothing happened. In fact, though Usina wanted to, I came back to my senses and told her how much I really loved Pan." everyone's ears pricked and Trunks nodded before they could ask, "Yeah," and he threw his arms in the air surrendering all his feelings, "I love her! I've always loved her. I messed up. I admit that but nothing happened. I couldnt do it. I love Pan. I don't know why. To me she's the best thing that's ever happened. I feel complete with her and...I'm scared that..." suddenly a single tear began to form on his face as he look down in dismay, "that I screwed up too much to actually....have her back." the purple haired half sayian glanced back up at Gohan, pain in his eyes and tone of voice. He could see the truth in Trunks and his anger lightened. He believed him. Trunks continued as a shred of fighting tears streamed down his cheek, "If anyone was stupid, it was me. I had the one thing in my life that I've been searching for and I had to juggle with something incredibly special that I had...that I KNEW I had and" Trunks swallowed hard then said, "...I fumbled." and Trunks leaned back against the wall unable to hold himself up and slid in failure to the ground, knees propped up and head sunked before them with his arms wrapped over the back of his head in shame and lost hopes. It was gone. Everything that mattered to him just ran out the door.

A few yards away from the tiki bar party that continued on in the night, Pan sat against a tree staring off at the neon lights, the ocean in the distance and the starfilled sky. Her tears had become dried rivers on her face which was still moist and wet. Her mascara still smeared and painted under her eyes giving her an unattractive display. But she didn't care anymore. If she wasn't pretty enough to keep a man in her life then she wasn't pretty enough to care about it. She sat there too tired to cry and even if she wasn't she had run out of tears. She sat there with her head back against the tree and just allowed the island's wind to dry her face with it's cool gusts of air and bring back her respiration. She began remembering the simple things with Trunks like the dance at last her last year's prom, how he carried her off with him, leaving her to feel as if she could fly. She remembered the roses he gave, the kisses, the smile that would turn her on like a star in the sky, and the invitation to go far away somewhere on a distant island to be together. Lies. All lies. Unable to face him again she figured it would be best to just center herself as far away from him. She would have to tell Bra of her decision soon. Suddenly her thoughts were interupted by a sudden presence beside her. She opened her eyes and glanced over only to see the white haired woman, Usina. Her stomach churned and she felt as though she was going to vomit from her presence. Had she come to gloat about what a great time she had with her man? Was she going to make her ears bleed with every detail? Through clentched teeth, Pan asked coldly, "What do you want?"
The white queen frowned, "You're not with Trunks?" Just the fact that she said his name like she knew him made her spit feel like acid, "What do you think?!" and Pan stepped to her feet unwilling to look up at such a low life woman, "I saw you two heading towards the hotel! I know about you two and you're asking why I'm not with that scum bucket? Whp do you think you are anyway? Do you know that man? Do you know how long he's been with me? Do you know how much I cared for him? Do you know who he is? Do you know about his life? His mother, father, siblings, do you know the unforgetable look he gives when he's at his high times and low times? Do you know his favorite food? His favorite story, dance and song? Do you know how it feels to have something that was once a part of you be ripped away by something that had spawned on him in a matter of twenty minutes? Do you know?!?!"
Usina's eyes wondered the ground in shame as she answered in a whisper, "No...I don't, though I wish I did." and Pan coudln't find anything else to say and before she even could Usina then added as she glanced up at her once again, "But I do know how much he loves you." Pan frowned and Usina continued, "He's a beautiful man hun, I saw how he was alone, drinking...drinking alot actually and I wanted him. I wanted what you had. I took him to the hotel room, I wanted him only to find out, he didn't want me. Nothing happened. He wouldn't let anything happen now matter how seductive or forceful I was and no matter how drunk or not fully there he was. He didn't want me. He wants you and I envy you. Don't give up on him. He deserves better than me. He's a good guy, I didn't think there were many men out there that were so dedicated to their women. He's one of the few. Don't lose that." and with that the white haired women turned to leave. At a lost for words, Pan cried out to her, "Usina!" She turned as Pan said, "Congratulations on the pageant." and Usina gave a weak smile, "It's just a contest. Winning a crown is nothing compared to winning a heart." and with that, she left.
