mystic_writer: I think a lot of people agree with me when I say that it would be great if Toonami would play the Cell games again!! I just love to see Hercule get kicked into that mountain… ^_~

Note: In the last chapter that I said Videl re-called every one of Gohan's moves, well, that couldn't really happen because he moved so fast. Actually, I meant the ones she could see. Just wanted to clear that up!

Warnings: Crystelle has just flown in. Watch out for landing gear!!

Gohan yawned, leaning against the airship window. Flying the old fashioned way was slow and boring. The saya-jin looked down at himself, blushing at the silly attire he had on. Suits just weren't his thing! It was navy blue and so formal it made him look like a lawyer. `I wish I owned a pair of blue jeans,' Gohan thought in misery.

"Mom, why are we going into town?" young Goten asked from beside his brother. "We've already been this month."

Chichi smiled and continued to steer the airship. "It's a surprise!"

"A surprise? Yay!"

For the rest of the ride, Goten was quiet, content and very happy. Chichi, however, kept glancing at her first son. Finally, she asked, "Gohan, do you have in mind what you want to buy you-know-who?"

Gohan thought for a moment, and rubbed the back of his head. "Not a clue. What do girls like? Flowers? Candy?"

"All of that! Perfume and jewelry, too," Chichi replied, clicking a few controls on the panel here and there.

Gohan groaned, just thinking of the thousands of horrid fragrances that could be floating around in a perfume store. Oh, the terror!

"I think I'll go with something a little less deadly," Gohan mumbled, re-calling sneezing his head off the last time he was in a store like that.

Chichi frowned. "Fine, just as long as you get her something nice," Her face lit up as Satan City came into view. "Wake up boys, we're here!" She looked around for the orphanage that was listed in the newspaper. "It said it should be here somewhere… Oh! There it is!" she said, pointing to a long, two-storied structure. "Hang on!" Chichi landed the craft in the parking lot, rather haphazardly.

"Now, that wasn't so bad now, was it?" she asked, but sweatdropped when she saw her sons piled on each other, arms and legs sticking askew.

"Hey Gohan, we're still alive!" Goten exclaimed as he climbed from under the older saya-jin.

"Amazing, isn't it?" Gohan joked as he sat up straight.

"Oh hush!" Chichi fussed. She picked up her purse before Goten could step on it and closed the door. "Goten, you're coming with me. Gohan has some… business to take care of," she said, checking her watch, seeing it was about 4:30. "Gohan, don't worry about the time. We'll come and find you, okay?" Chichi called as she and Goten headed toward the huge building's double doors.

"Yeah, sure…" Gohan mumbled, in a slight daze. He looked around at the different stores and businesses that lined both sides of the street. "Hmm… I know I saw a store around here the other day when I was heading to Erasa's…" he said to himself as he began walking down the sidewalk. So many posters and billboards of Hercule were hung everywhere that it was appalling.

Gohan smiled as the shop he was looking for came into view. It was a lovely store decked from floor to ceiling with all kinds of girl stuff. Gohan entered the shop with hesitation, because as soon as he came through the door every girl in the place looked at him like he was crazy for setting foot in such feminine territory. Feeling embarrassed, he slid behind an aisle of trendy clothes.

`Man, I guess guys don't come in here often…' he surmised. He saw a lot of midriffs hanging up with saucy remarks on them like `Bite Me' or `U Wish.' `Those fit Videl to a tee,' he thought, grinning. `But I don't think that would be a good gift. Let's see…' He gazed around seeing things like toe rings and sparkly bracelets. `What do you buy for someone like Videl? I haven't seen her wear ANY jewelry. She doesn't wear perfume-my saya-jin senses would have noticed. Besides, she smells nice enough already.' Gohan's eyes grew big and he blushed. `Oh no, not that again.'

"Can I help you?" a voice asked. The saya-jin spun around, seeing an attractive redheaded clerk. "Well, aren't you the cute one?" she teased. "I'm Tiff. Is there anything I can help you find?"

Gohan thought for a second. "I have a friend that's sick and I don't know what to get her… She's kinda pushy but I know she can be sweet when she wants to. I haven't known her that long, but I feel I should at least get her something meaningful. What do you recommend?"

Tiff put her hands together. "I know just the thing! Come with me," she said as she led Gohan to the back of the store. She bent down behind the counter and dug around for a few moments, then straightened up, holding a small box in her hands. "Your friend will love this," She opened it. "Will that be cash or charge?"

Gohan smiled.

Hercule paced the living room, mumbling to himself. He seemed quite anxious. Crystelle emerged from the neighboring room with a fresh coat of makeup on her face.

"Ready," she purred, sauntering up to him. She noticed his puzzled expression and curled a delicate arm around his muscled one. "What's the matter, champ?"

"I still don't know what to do with her, honey!" Hercule confessed. "She's going to get herself killed one of these days! I'm so worried! I only grounded her because I want the best for her. She needs help!"

"I know sweetie," Crystelle said, squeezing his arm.

Hercule pulled a picture out of his martial arts robe. "The maid found this old picture of Videl when she was cleaning our room this morning. Videl was just a little thing then, so darling and innocent. She changed after her mother died and has never been the same since."

Crystelle smirked, an idea popping into her head. She snuggled to his chest and gazed up at him, giving him the most concerned and loving look achievable.

"That's why we need the touch of a woman around here," she said softly. "I'm not trying to replace Videl's mother, I just want to be as much as a mother to her as possible. She doesn't want to accept me now, but I know she will one day."

Hercule was still for a moment, but then wrapped his arms around her. "Crystelle, I want to ask you something…"

Crystelle smiled, knowing exactly what he was going to say…

Goten squirmed by his mother in the uncomfortable couch that was in the lobby. "Mo-om!" he whined, "We've been here forever!"

"It's only been ten minutes, Goten," Chichi said, sighing. "…Saya-jins…"

Goten slumped. "Why are we here anyway? Is this where the surprise is?"

Chichi put an arm around her son. "Well, I guess I should tell you why we're here…"

"Mrs. Son?" an official-looking lady said as she stuck her head out the waiting room door. "I'm Rebecca. I am over this part of the department." She smiled. "You may see her now, but don't expect much."

"Thank you," Chichi said, standing up. "Come on, Goten."

Goten followed his mom and Rebecca down a long hall with many doors. They finally stopped at one near the end of the hall and entered the room. It was a cheerful looking room with four beds. On the last bed laid a little girl that was at least five years old.

"All of the other children are in the activity room playing," Rebecca stated. "Sato refuses to leave even this room. I haven't seen her eat anything yet, and the psychiatrists are no help. They want to put on a new type of medicine to help the traumatizing but we rejected their offers because of her age."

"That's horrible," Chichi said, her face twisted with sadness.

Rebecca stepped into the room. "Sato, dear," she called, "There's a nice lady here to talk to you."

"Go away!" Sato huffed, burying her head under her pillow.

Chichi approached the bed and sat down on it. When she reached out and stroked the child's charcoal hair, the little one slapped her hand away.

"I said go away!"

Chichi looked at Rebecca, who frowned.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Son," she said. "You're one of dozens who has tried to convince this one to be part of a new family. But I have to say you're the first with children to want her."

Chichi nodded, and turned back to the young one. "Sato," she said softly, "If you come live with me you'll have endless fields to run in and more animals to play with than in a zoo!"

Sato didn't move. Goten stood by the doorframe, not knowing what to make of the scene.

Chichi moved closer to Sato. "I have two sons that will treat you like the best little sister they've ever had. Please, at least talk to me, sweetie." She felt a hand clasp her shoulder and turned to see Rebecca. Chichi nodded, standing. She walked to Goten and kneeled, putting her arms around him.

"Goten," she said, disappointed, "I brought us here because I was hoping that this little girl would come home with us. I wanted her to be your sister, Goten, but I don't think…" Before she could finish, Goten went off like a rocket.

"YAAHOOOOOO!!!!!!!" he cried, jumping up in the air. "I'm gonna have a sister!!! I'm gonna have a sister!!!" He ran over to where Sato was.

"Goten, wait!" Chichi cried.

Goten pounced on her bed, making her look up from under her hiding place.

"Get off my bed!" she yelled.

Goten's grin was as wide as his face. "Hi I'm Goten!!! You're name's Sato?!?! That's sooo cool!!! I can't wait to show you everything when we get home!!! Ooh!! We'll get to share a room, too!!! It'll be so fun!!! OH! And we can play every day while my big brother is at school!!! And we can train!!! Do you like martial arts?! I do!!" he said, and in less than twenty seconds.

Sato sat up and stared at Goten like he was crazy. Goten, however, continued to beam his silly grin, his eyes as big as saucers. Suddenly, Sato burst out laughing. The smile from Goten's face faded as he sat confused.

"What? What's so funny?"

Sato fell back onto her bed, giggling like there was no tomorrow. Rebecca and Chichi stood, stunned at the remarkable event.

"T-This is amazing!" Rebecca exclaimed, "Her mood just went through the roof!"

Sato finally stopped laughing and got up. She smiled, widely. "How did you do that?"

"Do what?" Goten asked, holding the back of his head just like his father would.

"That was so cool!" Sato cried, "I've never heard anyone besides my brother talk THAT fast before!" Immediately after she said that, her face fell. "My big brother…" Her eyes teared up and she began to sniffle.

Goten blinked, but then smiled. "Hey… at least you'll have two big brothers now!"

Sato looked up at his smiling face and slowly, a small smile appeared on her face.

Chichi turned to look at Rebecca and smiled. "I guess this means you have to find those papers for me to sign."
