Pan and Herro continued to walk through the dark temple. After they had passed the dark door, everything in the temple had a bad feeling to it. Pan and Herro could feel Indivar's power everywhere, and it only became stronger the farther they went. The halls where decorated with deminted paintings of demons, and the walls were covered with strange green torchs. Even though they hadn't ran into real trouble since they went passed the door, Pan and Herro felt uneasy and nervous. Like the last step they took would be there last. After walking through what they thought had been the twelth hallway of paintings and green fire, the saiyans found themselves in a large circular room. A red carpet in the middle, and statues of stone men on the walls were what the room held. Herro walked to the middle of the room, and looked around expecting to find somthing that could lead there way. And Pan walked to the nearest statues and poked it, curiously.
"Carful Pan." Herro warned. Pan looked at him, getting a little frustrated. "We don't know what's in here."
"Herro. I'm sure if some demon suddenly pops out of no where," Pan began turning her back away from the stone statues. "I'll be able to take care of it." She said confidently. Just when she had finished her sentence, the statue quivered. Pan turned and looked at the statue, and got into a ready stance. "Hah! We already dealt with your buddies outside like they were nothing! And you expect me to be scared of somthing that is a hundred times smaller than the ones we pummled?" Pan began to laugh turning away from the stone man shaking her hand.
The statue then burst into gold flames, making Pans eyes widen with her confident smile still planted on her face. Pan then ducked a flaming sword threating to cut her head, and jumped over to Herro. The statue began to slowly walk to the pair, and all the rest of the statues burst into flames and followed, there swords axes and spears above the heads.
Herro flew above them, and shot chi blasts leaving the room in smoke. Pan and Herro started to cough, and cover there eyes.
"Way to go genius!" Pan yelled. "Now I got smoke in my eyes!" Herro growled and looked at the dust, waiting for it to reveal the destroyed statues. The dust cleard and the statues were still in tact. (and still on fire) Herro growled, and landed next to Pan.
"Damn! It didn't work." Herro growled. Pan humphed, and flew towards her enemy.
"Might as well do it the old fashion way!" she yelled. Pan got in front of the small army and started to dodge there weapons with ease. Pan was soon surrounded, and was dodging more attacks and giving them none of her own. Pan got fed up, and punched one clean in the face, not making a scratch. Pan gasped and flew back to Herro.
"What's the matter?" he asked. Pan was holding her hand, and Herro noticed it was badly burned. Herro cursed. 'I see... they absorb chi attacks, and if you punch or kick them you'll only just hurt yourself.' Herro thought. Herro looked at the statue Pan had punched earlier, and noticed it wasn't damaged at all. 'These things are made of a stronger material then the ones outside too.'
Pan and Herros space was geting smaller as the statues came closer. Herro was thinking fast, and couldn't find a weakness. Just then one of statues came running at Herro and swung its axe at him. Herro ducked, then kicked it in the chest, making it stumble back to the group. Herro winced and rubbed his foot, to ease the pain. Pan looked at the statue as it fell on another. The statue thwaked it in the head, making it crumble to peices and continue to walk towards the saiyans. Pan grinned as an idea came to her head.
"Herro! Watch what I'm about to do!"
"Huh?"
Pan flew into the group of stone, and began to dodge the attacks. Pan ducked a spear and it hit the one behind her, breaking it to peices. Herro saw this and smirked. Herro jumped in, and began to do the same. Soon all the statues grumbled by there own comrades hands, and none were left. Pan and Herro were panting and had there hands on there knees. Herro wiped the sweat off his forhead.
"Well that was fun," Herro grunted tiredly. Herro walked to the middle of the room, and looked around again. It still held no door to continue on there exploration. "Where do we go?" Pan started to walk to Herro, when she tripped and fell. Herro looked at her like she was an idiot.
"I fell." Pan said simply.
"I noticed," he began. "How can you trip? What's there to trip on?"
"I don't know! I felt somthing..." Pan began looking at her foot. Her foot had pulled the rug out a little, showing a stone block coming out of the floor a little. Herro stared at it, then walked to Pan to help her up, then walked to the stone. Herro looked at it, then threw the rug out more and lifted the stone. With the stone out of the way it revealed a stairway, going down into darkness. Herro smirked and looked at Pan.
"Seriously Pan, you're like my lucky charm. That's the seconed passage way you found with your clumsyness."
"Shut up!" Pan said angerly.
Using chi as a flashlight, Herro and Pan walked down the stairway. It was cramped, dark, and damp. Pan was following Herro and looking at the carvings on the wall of demons. Pan humphed. "I'm getting really tired of these demons everywhere." Herro ignored her, and continued on ward. Soon after Pan and Herro started to really get sick of this hallway in particular. Pan and Herro would run into a booby trap almost every ten steps. Arrows shooting from the walls, pillers of stone falling down, fire shooting from the floor, there were too many to count.
A few hours (and hundreds of booby traps) later, Pan and Herro came running out the door that led them outside the trap filled hallway with arrows flying at them. Herro quickly closed the door to prevent anymore dangerous things to come out, and growled.
"You think that they filled that hallway with enough traps!"
"Well, you have to admit, they must have had an imagination to make some of those things." Pan sighed.
"Oh yeah! Quite imaginable for them, to make the floor split into a pit of fire!" he screamed. Pan sighed and looked around. The sceanery changed drasticly. Instead of a temple, it looked as if they were in a cave and in the middle was a river. Pan made her way to the river, and drenched her burned hand in it. After a long angery rant about booby traps, Herro walked over and sat down next to Pan, crossing his legs. "How's your hand?"
"Still hurts a little..." Pan said gripping her hand.
"Give it here." Herro said taking Pans hand in his. Herro held it up to his face and examined it. Pan blushed.
"W-what are you doing?" she stuttered. Herro then took off her backpack, and looked inside it searching for somthing. Seconeds later, he pulled out the first-aid kit, a bowl, and a bunch of red leaves. "What's that?" Pan asked looking at the strange leaves.
"Teigra blood leaves. They have a ton of medical uses, Gyan gave me some before we left for the temple." Herro told her, letting go of her hand. Herro put the leaves in the bowl, grabbed a rock and started to mash the leaves. Soon the leaves looked like a red powder. Then he cupped some water with his hands and placed it in the bowl with the powder. He started to stir it with the rock, and it eventually started to look like blood. He then placed his hand on the under side of the bowl, and using chi he heated the blood water untill it started to steam. "Hold out your hand." Pan did so. "This will sting okay?"
"I've been through worse." Pan said smiling. Herro then poured the red water on her injured hand. Pans hand started to steam along with the water, and she felt a bad stinging sensation take over her hand. "This... is- nothing..." she said trying to hide the pain in her voice. After all the water was poured on her hand, Herro took a towel from her backpack and dried her hand. Then wraped her hand with some bandeges from the first-aid kit.
"There done." Herro said putting away the medical supplies. Pan looked at her bandeged hand and moved it. It felt alot better than it did before.
"Thanks." Pan said smiling. Herro blushed a little at what he did, but shook it off.
"Whatever. You'll be of no use to me fighting Indivar with a injured hand." he barked. Pan humphed at his attitude.
After a brief rest an hour later, Pan and Herro continued to explore the temple/cave. Going upstream brought them to a dead end, so they went down stream othe underground river. The bright blue water was reflected onto the stalagmites and rock in the cave. Pan thought it was a nice change of sceanery to the creepy green torchs and the paintings of demons. Soon the ground began to asend, and it became harder to walk.
After a while of tiring climbing, the ground flattened and instead of rocks, they found crystals and gold. Pan felt a wanting to reach out and touch them, but Herro took her hand and led her away from the gold.
"What are you doing?" Pan asked.
"Saving you. That gold has a dark power over it, if you touch it the'll drive to insainity." Herro said, letting go of her hand.
"Really?"
"No. But I do know that stuff was bad." Herro said continuing forward. Pan looked back, and saw the glitter of gold, but followed Herro. The ground continued to go up, and the river was soon left behind but its scent was still in the air. The power of Indivar was growing stronger the farther they went, and soon they were in front of a stone stairway. As they climbed it, Pan started to think it was endless. It continued to go in circles and did not stop. But after what seemed like hours, Pan felt a strange sensation go through her body. She looked around and saw that the walls and stairs started to change. Everything looked like it was melting, like the stairway was in an oven. But the air became cold and windy, and the scent of the water was replaced by the smell of many trees. Pan started to feel dizzy, and then she fell over. In front of her she saw Herro was on the ground as well.
Pans eyes closed, and many dreams filled her head. Dreams of silver sky and water, gold tree leaves and grass. And a black sun over her head in the middle of the sky. Pans thoughts whispered in the wind of her dream world. 'What is this? Where am I?' I feel strange... I don't belong here...' Pan flew over the world, over the tall gold grass. And in the middle of the grass, covered in red flowers lied Herro. He looked alseep, his back to the ground facing the sky. Then Pans eyes opened, freeing her from her dream. She was no longer in the stairway, but in a circular courtyard. Pan looked up, and saw the night sky, the silver moon hung over her and countless stars were in the sky. Pan blinked, then pinched herself. It wasn't a dream. Then she looked around and saw Herro lieing on the ground. Pan walked over to him, and shook him awake.
"Are you alright?" she asked. Herro nodded.
"What the hell happened? The whole place looked like it was melting, then I had... a freaky dream." he said rubbing his eyes.
"Me too. Where are we?" she asked looking around. He got up and looked around as well. He floated in the sky and saw the trees of Teigras jungle, and in the distance was the sand of the desert.
"I think we're on top of the temple." he said landing on the ground. "Weird... we were underground last I checked."
"Maybe when everything went all weird, we were transported here somehow. I'd belive it." Pan said. They began to look around more thoroughly. They found no exit, and nothing was here. Pan flew to the middle of the ground and landed on somthing that felt like glass. She looked down, and was facing a round mirror. Pan flew the edge of it, and peered in. The glass reflected her perfectly, but it went black and strange dangerous power came forth, and dissapeared when Pan looked away in fear.
"What was that?!" she asked. "Wait this can't be... Herro!" she called. Herro ran to her side.
"What is it?"
"I think... I found the mirror." she said quietly. Herro looked around trying to find it, then Pan pulled the bangs of his hair down, (considering that's as high as she can reach) and he saw it. After much silence, Herro said:
"I think that's it too."
