Chapter 2: Meet your parents (LOL)
The sun shown through the window and through Minako's eye lids making her wake up. She squinted as her brown eyes adjusted to the light. The girl looked at her clock and it read 6:27 am. Wow it was pretty early, but if she doesn't get up now she'll fall asleep and might sleep in, then she'll be behind on all her training. The 16 year-old got up and stretched, she then realized she forgot to change out of her regular clothes into her pajamas. And after the whole yesterday situation with the oak tree, she wasn't exactly smelling like roses. Minako changed into the same kind of shorts and the same type of shirt, in her opinion they are the lightest and easiest to train in. Then the girl picked up a brush and quickly untangled her long dark hair and fixed her bangs. After she made her bed, Minako made her way through the long corridor that lead to the stairs and finally she reached the front door, not even bothering to put on her shoes thinking they will only take up her training time, she left.
Minako closed the door gently and felt the cool morning air surround her. She doesn't know how but, today seemed to be a little different from the others… it seemed… special. Minako walked down the dirt path from her grandfather's house and to the edge of the mountain. The 16 year-old remembered that when she was little, she would always be jumping up and down the mountain, while the Ox King yelled at her saying she'll get hurt. That made her giggle, Minako never once got hurt going up and down the mountain… it's like she had a bond with the mountain. Finally she made it down jumping onto and then over the rocks that stuck out. A little fawn hide behind a bush just as Minako landed, but with her keen sense of hearing she knew that it was there. She didn't bother with it, she was headed somewhere, the place she always goes just before she trains, but why was it so special? That's because one morning about 6 years ago she saw a little boy about her age sitting at the spring in the middle of the forest. At that time she was shy to everyone she met and didn't want to ask hat his name was so she just hid behind a tree at a safe distance. From her hiding place Minako peeked from behind the tree to watch a boy as he washed his face with the water. And his crystal blue eyes would sometimes look her way, but that was when she would quickly hide all the way behind so he wouldn't see her. What interested most about the boy was his pure violet hair that would sway as the wind blew.
Today she came like always… but he wasn't there. Minako didn't understand… he was always there it didn't matter if it was raining, shining, snowing, or just plain outside. As she turned around to leave she bumped into something… or was it someone? She looked up and noticed that it was the boy from the spring; she started to back away slowly, making a safe distance between them.
The boy smiled and said, “You've been watching me for some time now huh?”
His voice was so cool; Minako at first didn't know what to say. She had so many questions flying through her head it was hard to concentrate. He took a step forward and she took a step back, which made him frown, “What? Are you afraid of me of something? It's not like I came to fight you.”
Minako just stared at him, looking from head to toe. She had never seen a real boy up close before, her grandfather was a male but he was her grandfather and he was old, but this boy… he was wearing dark blue pants with light brown boots. The shirt he was wearing was white and showed some off the huge biceps of his. A navy jacket was over the shirt and on his back hung a sword in its red sheath.
Minako decided to ask him, “Who are you?”
The purple haired boy smiled, “My name is Trunks Briefs. What's your name?”
Minako relaxed a little, “M-Minako…”
“Minako…wow,” Trunks sat down “That's a pretty name. So do you live around here or something?”
Minako leaned back against the tree that was behind her, “Yeah, I live on my grandpa's mountain over there.” She pointed over to the direction of the mountain.
“Wow, and your grandpa owns it?”
Minako smiled, “Yeah sort of like that.” She looked down at her bare feet, “So… um… how long have you known that I was watching you?”
“For a couple of weeks. I've been going over here ever since I was little… it's kind of like a place to get away from the city…” Trunks looked away, “…not to mention all the stupid training my dad's making me do.”
Minako's face lit up, “Oh, you train too?”
The boy looked back up, “What do you mean `too'? Do you train?”
“Sure I do! I go to this forest and climb the mountains, chop down trees, chase the tigers—“, the sound of Trunks's laughter made Minako stop.
“Oh I'm sorry, it's just I've never met a girl who does that sort of stuff. I mean it in a good way, it's just most of the girls I know care only about their hair, or their clothes, or if they're skinny enough! It's just so annoying—“, Trunks was interrupted but the ringing of his cell phone.
Minako was amazing that there is a phone that small that fits in your pocket and works! She had never seen a cell phone before. Trunks sounded a little annoying because of the person he was talking to and finally he hung up, “Sorry about that, but you know how moms are. If you don't call them every 10 minutes they start freaking out.” Trunks laughed, “Is your mom like that to?”
Minako smiled, “I wouldn't know, my parents gave me away to my grandpa when I was just a baby. He always tells me I act so much like them, I never really met them… but I'm sure I will someday”
Trunks looked at her concernedly. Why would she be laughing to something as serious as never meeting her parents? He stood up, “Sorry that I have to leave so soon… but it was nice talking to you Minako, and I hope we can talk again like this tomorrow.”
Minako smiled and said, “Yup, I'll see you tomorrow…uh…Trunks!”
Trunks suddenly said, “Hey wait what's that over there?”
Minako turned around…but saw nothing, “What are you talking about? There's nothi—“, as soon as she turned around, Trunks was gone.
Minako finished her daily training and made her way back up the mountain and went up to the gate that leads to her grandfather's house. Since it was dark outside she took the torch in front of the gate and lit up the lanterns that were next to the path as it lead to the front door. As always Minako walked in through the door and tracked in a few leaves and dirt because of her bare feet.
“Ah, home at last! Gramps, I'm home!”
Minako was so starving that she could smell out everything that her grandpa was cooking in the kitchen! She missed lunch because today she worked a little longer since the run-in with Trunks put her a little behind schedule, but her grandpa doesn't mind if she comes home too late as long as she eventually does come home. Minako heard her grandfather's voice in the kitchen…but there was another voice along with his. No, wait… there was 2 of them. One male and one female. She slowly made her way through the corridor and into the kitchen, and finally saw who these people were.
“Ah Minako, welcome back! I see you decided to train a little longer today?” Said her grandfather cheerfully, but she wasn't even paying attention to him. She was paying attention to the woman and man next to him.
The woman had dark hair and bangs just like Minako but they were wrapped into a bun with a small amount of hair hanging purposely on both sides by her ears. The clothes she wore was a short purple kimono with orange embroidered symbols on her chest, along with a light purple shirt underneath, and on her feet were slippers that are given to guest if they ever had any. The man next to her was really strange; he wore an orange training kimono with a blue shirt underneath along with a blue belt around his waist. He had long spiky hair the same color as the woman's, if not darker, and this guy was so muscular, he must lift 100s of tons each day, Minako laughed at this thought.
The woman got up and looked at the man, “You see Goku? I told you that you shouldn't wear in what you train over here! You look ridiculous; even she is laughing at you!” The woman looked at Minako with warm eyes…those eyes…so familiar… The woman smiled, “I guess you really don't remember me. I'm not surprised since we didn't even get a chance to spend even a week together.”
“Uh…not to be rude, but seriously, who are you guys?” Minako asked questioningly, her grandfather sighed and got up. He went over and put one hand on the woman's shoulder and one hand on the man's shoulder.
“Minako…” he began, “Do you remember all the stories I told you about your parents, and how maybe one day they'll come and get you one day?” He didn't even have to say anymore, she widened her eyes `cause she was afraid that he was going to say what she was thinking. Her grandfather continued, “Minako, these are your parents, Goku and ChiChi.”
The woman came up to her and said, “Honey…we came to take you back home with us.”
