The Alternate Universe

Chapter Eight: The Battle of The Titans

Goku and Cell were still staring each other in the eye as a deadly silence swept the area they were in.
Meanwhile,up on the cliff,Kajumi had appeared out of the bushes and descended on the weak fighters.
"Ahh!"Yamcha gasped but he was thrown down into the river,and Kajumi grabbed Trunks and threw him back to where she just was.
"This is it,Trunks.Its time for you to die..."She held up one finger and pointed it at Trunks.A weak Tien grabbed her feet and held on,but she managed to pull one free and slammed her foot down,knocking him out.
"Eah...no!"Krillin shouted.
Still Goku and Cell stared.
Krillin lunged forward and Kajumi was thrown to the ground.
"Get off me,cueball!"she shouted.Her elbow whacked into his stomach and he fell down.
Trunks was now standing,so Kajumi engaged in some fighting first.Her knee collided with his chin and he shot upwards but she was there and kicked him back down.A red ball appeared in her hands,pointing down at the injured figure.
Goku appeared in front of her,silently,and crushed the ball in her hand,smiling.
"Dont be doing that again"he said,and he kicked with amazing force sending her flying aside.He went back to Cell.
"You go first,Goku"Cell offered.
Goku sent a punch into Cell but Cell did not move or flinch.Goku appeared behind and his arm slammed into Cell's shoulder blades,but Cell grabbed the hand and threw him down.
"Quite smart"Goku said.
"Smarter than you"Cell replied.He appeared behind Goku and tried to attack but Goku dodged and his arm blocked Cell's attack.
He backflipped and avoided a short burst of energy and then punched upwards into Cell's chin and down on his head.
Cell's head knocked upwards into Goku's arm.Goku then dissapeared and reappeared low down and punched into Cell's stomach.
There was a tense moment and Cell looked down,smiling.He grabbed Goku's head and fired a haze of blue light into his face and kicked him away.But Goku appeared behind Cell,and their punches met as Cell turned around.Their knuckles opened up and like a game of peanuts they tried to squeeze the life out of the other's hands,creating a golden aura around themselves.
Kajumi stood up and looked around,then charged towards Trunks.He rolled backwards but she fired a ball of energy which tore through his chest.He screamed and dragged himself slowly away,blood seeping right through his armour.He whimpered and crawled back on his elbows,staring hard at Kajumi.A ball of flames had appeared in her hands surrounded by red Ki.She pointed it at Trunks.
"DIE!"she screeched and the ball was fired,but standing between her and Trunks was Android 21,and he had knocked it away.
Furious at having victory seized from her when she was so close again she blasted forward and began exchanging punches with 21.

Gohan pushed his mother back and she fell through the open door onto the sand.
"Go,mom..."Gohan said.Their was traces of fear which he still could not expel from his voice,let alone his body.
Kami stood in the background near the stairs,his staff clutched close.
"What are you doing here?"Gohan asked,trying to stall as much as he could.
"You know,kid"Kasama replied."I've come for Trunks and you know where he is..."
"He isnt here"
"Dont lie"she hissed.Gohan flinched;"Dont lie,I KNOW he is here..."
"Well..."said Gohan,a white aura of flame appeared around him and rising steadily,"YOU'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME FIRST!"
Kasama appeared in front of Gohan making Gohan jump back in fright,shaking.Her tongue shot out,wriggling slyly.She appeared behind Gohan and kicked him in the back.He shot towards one of the walls and was about to break through,but Kami was there and caught Gohan.
"Who are you old man?"Kasama snapped.Kami didnt reply,but moved back again.
"Let it out Gohan...just have some confidence in yourself..."Kami whispered.
Gohan's face was set.He blasted forward and kicked Kasama with all his might,sending her through the wall and out into the sand with the others.
"Massenko....Senko!"Gohan shouted,but Kasama appeared behind him and knocked him forward.He hit the ground and slid along into the water.
"Heerah!"she yelled,and a ball of white energy was shot at Gohan.He scurried back in the water and Kasama dashed forward and kicked him upwards.He fired down at her and she was covered in black smoke.
"Yeah,alright!"Gohan said,punching the air.He turned over to see her there in the air.She punched him and he went back down and crashed into the sand with a thud.She kicked him and appeared before he could crash into the sea and kneed him backwards into the air.He one of the palms and slid down,where she began to punch and kicked his body as it lay pinned up against the base.
"Noo!"Chi-Chi screamed.She ran forward but Kasama's arm knocked her back.
Kami emerged and dashed over,avoiding her attacks.
"What....?"she whispered,half turning to see Kami."You..."she murmured,and at that she kicked the crumpled body as hard as she could and it was submerged into the sea and sunk slowly down.
"You dare to challenge me?"the said.
"I am the guardian of the Earth!It is my duty to protect in anyway I can....and you pose a threat to all that is peaceful!You have already ended too many lives for remorse...I wont hold back!"he shouted.
"No,Kami,NO!"Popo said desperately.
"Quiet,Mr.Popo"Kami said."I have to do this.Conjure your carpet and take Bulma and Trunks far,far away"
Popo froze,staring at Kami.
"You wont get there in time!Do you honestly think an old fool like you could be faster than me?"
"GO!"he shouted.Popo stumbled back,staring at him tearfully."I'll be okay..."he added,smiling.
"Oh...Kami!"Popo said,and he turned quickly and threw his hand out to where Bulma and Trunks where,creating a carpet underneath them.He jumped to the helm,staring at Kami.
"Farewell,Master Popo"he said,and at that Popo could take no more.He set off at lightning speed.
Kasama darted forward but Kami kicked into her and she was thrown back.
"Your stronger than I expected old man but your still a wrinkled fool!"she shouted,rubbing her cheek.
The words drifted down below the waters to Gohan.
He was in a deep sleep.
His father's voice echoed in his head.
Turn every desire into a need
He remembered the Saiyans attacking,the failed plan;
Gohan,strike now!Come on!
No,Piccolo,I'm too scared!
Gohan!!!
Then he remembered Namek...
Come and play,little one...
It was only his anger that helped him through Freiza.He remembered Krillin being spiked,Krillin dying,Piccolo being shot...when he thought his father had died,and he went back.His only brave moment...the only other times it was anger...

710?Thats impossible for a child!
His father becoming a Super Saiyan for the first time.

"I wont fail you again!"he thought to himself."I wont fail you again I will beat them and I will save Trunks!"
You'll save no-one,boy...you are WEAK
"I have to!"

"I..."he woke with tremendous fury,"I NEED TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"The water around him began to be pushed to the sides.
Kasama and Kami stopped grappling and turned to the water that was sloshing about,but slowly forming an organised movement.It was parting.
Energy was seering through the water,white and powerful.Kasama caught a blast and was thrown back into the ground,unconcious.
"Gohan..."Kami whispered.
Chi-Chi had stopped sobbing and was watching in awe.
"GET INSIDE WHILE SHE IS ASLEEP!"Kami roared at the remaining crowd.They ran towards the door as white flames burst out and the seabed was now visible,a long strip of land.
Gohan was rising from the strip,his high in the air,bushy-spiky hair stick on end like Vegeta's.
His arms and legs were pushing out as hard as they could as though a wall was closing in on him.
He was screaming.His eyes were bulging,completely white,and then a gold colour.His hair exploded into gold and stood up tall,his eyes returned to normal except green.A golden aura was pulasting around him like a flame.
He glided forward and his feet touching lightly on the sand.The waters crashed back into place.
"Go...Gohan..."Kami spluttered.Gohan walked silently forward to Kasama's body.
His arm stretched itself out straight and a ball of energy appeared in his hand.
The body twitched and then Kasama stood.As soon as she saw Gohan's attack and appearence she jumped back but hit into the tree.
With the other hand Gohan created a golden web which wrapped itself around Kasama,pinning her to the tree.
Gohan smiled in a Vegeta-like way and raised his other arm.Kasama was twitching and writhing,her eyes wide in fear.
"Dont kill her...please..."a voice said.

21 dodged Kajumi's punches,laughing.
"Dont make me angry!"she shouted,firing a blast of energy.He backflipped and it shot into the trees behind.
"HAA!!"she screamed and fired blasts of energy very quickly at 21,which creating flaming black smoke clouds swelling around him.
She finished and was breathing heavy.Then as the smoke cleared she felt a tingling sensation from behind her and fell to the ground,unconcious.
Meanwhile Goku and Cell's hands had just broken apart and Goku had moved behind Cell and fired a ball of energy at his back.He was thrown forward into the ground and slid along.
"I'm not calling your bluff,Cell.Get up"Goku said.
Cell backflipped and dissapeared but Goku dissapeared too and Cell punched into where he just stood.
Goku fired a ball of energy which hit Cell's face as he punched in mid-air.He was thrown into the ground but his hands extended out onto the ground and he flipped over,also avoiding blasts of energy from Goku.Goku appeared in front of Cell and his knee hit upwards into Cell's chin.
Goku appeared above and fired down a couple of balls of energy,knocking Cell into the ground.
"Kamehamha!!!!!!"Goku shouted,firing a stream of energy down to Cell's body and pushing himself upwards higher and higher.
Goku pulled out of the sky and landed on the closest thing-the cliff with the unconcious Vegeta and Kajumi.
As the smoke cleared Goku saw that Cell was standing up,smiling and staring up at him,unharmed.
"Come on Goku,you have to do better than that!"
Goku clenched his fists and growled slightly but pushed his anger away.
"Then I'll just have to up the game!"he shouted back.He created a blue aura around himself and bowed his head,and then energy exploded about him,his hair sprung up and became a violent gold,his eyes green.Then like a lighting bolt passed from one side of his head to the other he sensed some enormous power swelling.
It couldnt be...it couldnt be...Gohan...?
His turned head looked back at Cell.
"So your a Super Saiyan too?I hardly doubted it...now HERE'S a challenge!"Cell shouted up.
Goku appeared in front of Cell and punched into his chest but Cell caught it and threw him back.Goku appeared behind Cell and caught him unawares;he half turned,his face full of surprise,and caught the full blast of the punch.He was thrown forward.Goku picked him up and kicked him away.Cell shot backwards into a boulder and through into the ground.Cell jumped up,furious,and appeared beside Goku.
They started exchanging punches again.Goku punch,Cell block,Cell punch,Goku block.Goku kicked upwards with his knee into Cell's chin and appeared overhead and slammed down into Cell's head with his elbow.His leg swung round into Cell's back and he was thrown forward and skidded along the floor.The place was silent as Cell lay,his face covered in soil.
Goku's golden hair shook in the breeze as he watched.
Then finally Cell got to his feet,and looked at Goku.
"I guess your stronger than I thought.Nowhere near as strong as I am,but still..."he wiped a trail of blood from his mouth and began to power up, "But still...I will have to raise my power level to beat you..."his power level shot up and he stood tall.The cuts and bruises dissapeared as his muscles bulged and then relaxed.
"Come on Goku...still think you can take me?"
"No"Goku replied.Cell stood,looking blankly at him,when he dissapeared and reappeared behind him and knocked him forward with a powerful headbutt.Cell was slammed into a wall of stone and slid down it.
"Its time to end this Cell!"he shouted,a ball of blue energy appearing in his hands."Once and for all!"
He threw his hands forward."KAMEHAMEHA!!!"
The familiar tube-like beam of blue-white energy blasted towards Cell and smothered him,exploding around and on him.
There was no scream.There was no noise for a while.Then a gigantic boom,Vegeta was thrown back and slid along the wet ground atop the cliff and awoke,blinking his eyes.
"Kakaroto..."he muttered,seeing the bright light and blast of energy.His head turned to see Android 21 healing Trunks.
Usually he would have done something but instead he stormed over to the edge of the cliff to see Goku holding his arms up,finishing his Kamehameha.There was a line of dirty twenty feet wide and hundreds long.
Goku relaxed and his hair settled back to its normal black state.
"Hey,Vegeta"he called,not looking at the Prince,"You okay?"he asked.
"KAKAROTO!"he bellowed down angrily.Goku's head turned up to him and he began to laugh,and Vegeta stormed away.
Vegeta stopped as he heard Goku gasp.He turned around to see Cell's legs reforming up his body,standing in front of Goku.
His head burst out of his neck.He punched Goku in the stomach.He stumbled backwards and Cell appeared behind and kneed him forward.He fell onto his hands and knees.
"I'll spare you Goku"Cell whispered.Vegeta,intent to hear more,landed lightly on the floor behind Cell and Goku."I'll spare you, because I need to tell you something.Do you remember the Tenchaki Budokai Tournaments?"he asked.
"What?"Goku asked.
"Do you or dont you?"he persisted.
"Yeah,we all do"he replied.
"Good.Because the Cell Games are coming up.In ten days in a ring ten miles West North-West of here in a mountainous desert region you will find a ring made entirely of white stone.That's the fighting ring of the Cell games"he paused and thrust Goku in Vegeta's direction.Vegeta grabbed him and pushed him away.The two of them looked over at Cell."Each of the competitors,each of the ones brave enough to face me"he boomed so everyone could hear,"You will each face me one after the other.You can make good use of the Senzu beans but I cannot,so you have the advantage of recouperation.So prepare,for you will have ten days.This planet is useless to me now;if my greatest challenger is this weak then what do I have?All I ask is that in ten days you bring someone who can equal me....I'd like to see you try"he turned and an aura appeared around him,but he added,"Oh and,look out for the news!"
He blasted away and out of sight.20 and 19 appeared by Goku,startling Vegeta.
"Goku,are you alright?"20 asked.
"Yeah,thanks Gero"
"What are you doing?"Vegeta spat.
"He's okay,Vegeta,he's on our side"Goku explained.
"Argh..."Vegeta growled."I dont have time for this...my pride has been damaged enough.I'm going to train in the Hyperbolic time chamber...so dont disturb me!"he shouted,and blasted away.
"Vegeta...!"Goku shouted after him desperately.
"Leave him"20 advised."I have assesed his brain.He will not accept help...but more pressing matters await.I think you too must train...what is this Hyperbolic time chamber you speak of?"he asked.
"A place where you can get a year's training in one day.Its a different dimension,infinite and with ten times the Earth's gravity force"
"Then you must train.I cannot improve my strength;myself,19 and 21 will remain guard.Come on!21,do you have Trunks?"he shouted up to 21 on the cliff who was carrying Trunks in his arms."Good,let us away!"
"I'll be with you,Docter,I just need to get the others"Goku explained.He appeared up on the cliff and saw Kajumi..should he help her?
Maybe Cell would get her and her sister.He hesitated,watching 20 and the others away,then picked her,Tien and Krillin up.
He appeared on the lookout and saw a flying carpet land behind him with Bulma,Baby Trunks and Popo on it.
"Hey guys,whats going on?"Goku asked,his two fingers still pointing at his forehead.
"They attacked Roshi's place!Gohan and Kami have to fight,they need your help!"Popo said worridly.
"Okay"Goku replied,and he appeared at Roshi's place in the front room to see a crowd of people staring out the window.
"Hey everyone!"he called.The jumped back and turned around to see Goku.
"Goku!"Chi-Chi screamed."Your alright!"
"There isnt time"he said sternly."Everyone grab on to each other"
"What?"
"Just do it!"Goku shouted.
"Goku knows best..."Oolong murmured,grabbing Roshi and Puuar.
Goku grabbed his wife and the long row of people dissapeared and appeared on the lookout.Goku went back for the television,returned and gave it to him.
"Watch the news"he said quickly before disappearing yet again.This time it was near the edge of a waterfall,where Piccolo lay trapped between two rocks.Goku grabbed him and placed him on the bank in time to grab Yamcha before he too fell.
"Thanks Goku"
"You look in pretty bad shape"Goku commented.
"I feel it...I think all my limbs are broken..."
"Kami can fix that up"Goku said.
He grabbed hold of both of them and appeared behind the television,dropped them down and went back to where Gohan, Kami, the old Turtle and Kasama where.
Gohan had his hand pointed at Kasama who was pinned up against a tree.He saw Gohan's hair...he was a Super Saiyan..what an amaz...
"Dont kill her...please..."Goku said,realising what was happening.
"Quiet,dad"Gohan said.His other hand squeezed in and she was squeezed even harder by the golden net.Unable to contain her pain and fear much longer she screamed out and started to cry aloud.
"Ahha...ahahah!"Gohan was laughing.
"Son,stop that"Goku said.Gohan was having difficulty controlling his powers.
Goku grabbed his son and did what was best.He knocked him clean out.Then he went over to Kasama who had fallen onto the floor as the ropes had disappeared.He looked down at her wet,scared face.
"You'll be with your sister soon"he knocked her out two,and Gohan,now Normal Saiyan,was picked up by Kami.
"Goku,I..."
"Thanks for fighting,Kami.I know you shouldnt have"
"I hoped you wouldnt have said that,Goku...."Kami said sadly.
"What?"Goku asked,perplexed."I was complimenting you!You've done a good job.Be proud to be Guardian!"
"I am...but now my time has come to an end..."
"What?!"
"Goku I am old...someone must come in to replace me.And soon.I shall leave...somehow.I may fuse with Piccolo or may return to my home planet,if I can bear to leave..."
"No!I wont allow it"
"Fine...we'll...do it later.."he mumbled,and grabbed onto Goku,as Goku's free hand grabbed the turtle.They disappeared and landed atop the lookout where nearly everyone was watching the television,except Bulma who was holding Vegeta back.
Trunks, Piccolo, Tien, Krillin and Yamcha were all standing up,and Korin and Yadjirobe were there too.
"I'm glad your up"Goku said,walking over to them and grabbing a free senzu bean,taking Gohan off Kami."We've got to sort out a training regime"
"Vegeta here has been once"Piccolo growled.
"Yeah"Trunks agreed."Me and my father have trained for one day"
"Well..."Goku started scratching his head as Gohan awoke and looked up at him.
"I'll take it from here Goku,you never were really good at math"Piccolo said."Okay first up it can be..."
"Me and Gohan"Goku volunteered.
"Goku and Gohan up first,then me and Tien,then Yamcha and Krillin,then finally Vegeta and Trunks again...then we will repeat this"
"You know about the Cell games?"Goku asked.
"They told us"Piccolo said,indicating to Android 20, 19 and 21.
"Okay...Gohan,come on"Goku said,looking down at him and leading him forward.
"Wha...what?"Gohan stuttered.
"Were coming to train son,just you and me.D'you like?"
"Y-y-yeah...sure...dad..."Gohan stammered.
"Okay come on"
They walked forward towards the great door,Goku opened.
Gohan hesitated and looked up to see his father nodding down to him.He smiled sheepishly and walked in.
Goku followed and closed the door behind himself.
"And now we wait and watch"Piccolo said.

"I'm so amazed you've become a Super Saiyan,Gohan"Goku said,trying to take his son's mind of the infinite whiteness.
"Oh yeah"Gohan said,cheerfully."Pretty cool,huh?Think I can become stronger than you?"
"We'll just have to see...can you defend this?"Goku asked,and he started tickling Gohan,and in his laughter they fell to the floor,wrestling happily,the sand falling slowly from the top to the bottom of the hourglass.

Cell landed ten miles West-North-West of the now-giant river so many battles had been staged upon.
He found a sizeable chunk of land and raised it,trimmed it to straight,solid perfection and it buzzed into a bright white,cut itself into equal squares and crashed down onto the floor and positioned itself into a square with spikes on either end.
"Hm...My ring"he murmured softly.
