Chapter 7: The Prophesy

How could he have missed that? It was the key to his achievement and dare he say…happiness? That little detail was the reason why he was even born in the first place. That little thing was all he needed to feel he had finally done something worthy in his whole otherwise miserable life.

Bulma felt Vegeta tense. She didn’t know wether to be happy because she had finally joined with the prince of her dreams or be sad because he seemed to be regretting his actions.

His emotionless voice and lack of enthousiasm hadn’t gone unnoticed by her. She knew something was wrong…and why was Vegeta tensing up behind her. Something was definitely not right, and curiosity getting the best of her, she asked what was going on.

“Vegeta? … What’s wrong?”

“Woman…what’s this?

“What’s what? What are you talking about?”

“This” Vegeta said, pressing his finger on a spot on the back of her neck to emphasise his point.

Realising what he was talking about it was her turn to tense. He had noticed that spot on her neck. Damn it! She should’ve been more careful…what would he think of her now? That she was a freak or something? Finally gathering enough resolution she meekly answered.

“Oh…that. Well, I’m not really sure actually. I think it’s some kind of birthmark. It’s always been there…why are you asking?” She had always been oblivious as to why a V shaped mark adorned her skin on that particular spot. It was the one thing her genius mind couldn’t figure out. Why would Vegeta possibly be so interested in it?

Vegeta still couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Could it really be? Could this woman be the Blue Cristal?

On the back of Bulma’s neck lay a design that looked more like a tatoo than a birthmark. It consisted of a V and a dot in the middle of it. The drawing was entirely made of royal blue ink, or so it seemed.

Wanting to know exactly what was going on Bulma turned around and demanded an explanation. Vegeta only got up and went to the shower. He would have to talk to her seriously. However, first he needed to fully understand this situation and see just how much this would change his life. Bulma followed his example and joined him under the hot stream.

“Vegeta, please…what’s going on?” The poor girl sounded desperate and totally lost.

“Woman…we need to talk…tonight…”

With that last word he exited the tub, flaring his ki to dry himself the fastest way possible. He got out as soon as he could leaving behind a very confused Bulma…he had to be by himself to let reality down on him for good.

~*~*~

Her hair tied up in a loose bun and her back facing the mirror, Bulma was examining the mark that rested on the back of her neck. What could it possibly be? Nobody had been able to give a plausible explanation for it. Only Vegeta seemed to know what it was, and judging by the look on his face before he left, it had to be something quite important. The thing was: was it a good or a bad sign?

“Damn! He’s such an asshole. He’s expecting me to patiently wait for tonight. And how the hell am I supposed to do that?”

When she was born, one of the nurses assigned to take care of her tried to kill her thinking she was some sort of anticrist or something of the like because of that drawing. Luckily, a doctor passing by prevented her from doing so. Others thought she was some kind of saint. Many theories and been made regarding that unusual trait. Soon getting tired of all those stories as did her parents, they decided to moved to West City.

However, the scientific mind of her father hadn’t stopped wondering about that mark. That had him running thousand on tests on his poor child which made her go throught a lot of stress during years. In the end all that research had proved to be useless, he hadn’t found anything enlightening.

The mark was done in royal blue. The shape was quite simple. It looked like a tatoo but it didn’t share the caracterisitcs of it. For one, it was impossible to remove it and that color was unique, not to mention that babies usually weren’t born with tatoos. Throughout the years Bulma had just kept quiet about it, not wanting people to see her as a freak. To the few people that had noticed it, like Yamcha, she had just said it was a tatoo.

It just looked she would have to wait til sunset to get the answers to all those questions that were accumulating in her mind.

“He better show up early tonight! I’m in no mood to be kept waiting.” That was her last thought before she fell asleep, after all, last night’s activities had really worn her out.

~*~*~

It was about eleven in the night, well past sunset and Vegeta still hadn’t showed up. Bulma had gone out of her mansion to her forest like garden and was now perched on her favorite tree branch. From up there she had a beautiful view of Capsule Corp. as well as the skyline of the city that lay behind the dome shaped buildings she called home. The full moon made the night more beautiful than ever before. How she had missed the moon. As weird as it sounded, she had to admit that she had taken for granted that silver orb that adorned the nights. She never tought it would disappear, however she had been proved wrong when it had vanished all of a sudden without knowing why. It was only a few years after the incident that she learned from Gohan that Piccolo had destroyed it for Earth’s safety. After all she had to agree with him, it wasn’t particularily secure to have giant apes running loose on Earth. Anyhow, she was happy to have it back now…it certainly gave back to the night its charm and romanticism.

The cold breeze was caressing her skin, making her suddenly aware that the autumn was just around the corner. He thoughts were soon interrumpted by something that looked like a falling star. But Bulma knew better: it was Vegeta that had finally decided to come back to shed a little light on the huge confusion ruling over her. What she didn’t know was that Vegeta had been watching her for a while thinking how she truly looked like an angel. All day long he had been trying to figure out how to deliver the truth to this woman. To say he feared her reaction would be an understatement. Not wanting to delay the inevitable he made his noticeable entrance in a flash of lights. She knew he was here now.

Both of them sat there. Not one word was spoken, only the eyes were exchanging looks, trying to guess what the other had on the back of his mind, trying to guess what was going to happen next. Bulma was the first to break the silence, her nerves just couldn’t take it any longer.

“Vegeta…please…please tell me what on the world is going on. I need to know…I mean you had me waiting all day long and now you…” She didn’t get to finish her sentence as Vegeta hushed her. This was no time for blabbering.

A few moments went by until Vegeta finally decided to speak.

“Bulma…I’m going to tell you everything I know but you have to let me finish. Don’t interrupt me. Once I have said everything there is to say you may ask questions. Don’t interrupt…”

“I won’t…don’t worry”

“Good”

Taking a last deep breath Vegeta began his explanation.

“Back on Vegetasei the Saiyans worshiped a God, just like you humans have yous own gods here. However we didn’t have different religions, we only knew one supreme being named Vego. It is written that he was the first Saiyan to ever transform into a Super Saiyan and that he became the first monarch on the planet. He ruled the planet like no other leader had ever done in the universe. Doted of the ultimate power and endless wisdom he became God when he passed away. It is said that he chose the most beautiful and purest woman in the whole universe and took them with him to be his angels. Those angels were called Saiyadinas which were known for their immense beauty and pure heart. It is also said that the reincarnation of a Saiyadina was expected every 2000 years. She could come to life in any form of life or any race of the universe and that her beauty would surpass any other.”

He stopped to take a breath. Bulma was listenning very carefully to his every word but couldn’t understand what all of that had to do with her.

“The Saiyan God sends a Saiyadina to do good and bring prosperity. However there’s also another purpose. She is destined to mate with the Legendary. They are supposed to become mates and rule together. The Legendary has to contribute to the cause with his strengh and wisdom, and the Saiyadina is to contribute with love and peace. Though it’s supposed to happen that way it had never occurred before. Either the Legendary didn’t look for the Saiyadina or he simply couldn’t find her. The Legendary who appears every 1000 years is supposed to be the first Super Saiyan at the beginning of the each millenium. I was destined to be the Legendary. I was born as a royal and had the highest ki recorded in 1000 years. In this case Kakarot is just an accident or somekind of anomaly. That means I am supposed to find the Saiyadina if she is to be born this millenium and not the next and then mate with her. Together we must produce an heir that will be the One. He will bring back true strengh and peace to the universe. He will be the strongest and the wisest being ever who will, at his death, join our God, Vego, and become a divinity himself. In his life he will bring back the balance in the universe. There is something else apart from her beauty that will distinguish the Saiyadina. It is a V shaped mark with a dot in the middle that rests on the back of her neck. The V refers to Vego, the dot represents strengh and the royal blue relates to the royal family of Vegetasei. The information is transmited from generation to generation. There is a prophesy about the reincarned Saiyadina. govern

When hope fades

When fear grows

Darkness will fall

But a dim light will shine

Faith will arise

The Blue Cristal shall save them all

Bringing peace and strengh to life.

The V shall distinguish her

The Legendary shall mate with her

The genuis shall deliver her.

With eyes that pierce the soul

Bright as the day

Beautiful as the night.

In this case the Blue Cristal is the Saiyadina that is meant to be my mate. She is the one this is all about, and as you have probably figured out by now…you are the Saiyadina…”

Bulma was in total shock. She was a reincarned angel that was supposed to mate with the strongest being and have a child that would save the universe? That surely explained the mark on her neck but a part of her wished she never knew anything. If this was true then she would never be able to carry such a heavy burden. How was she supposed to react to such news anyway?

She didn’t know if she should be excited about her newly discovered identity or not. Her whole life had turned out the be a lie. She wasn’t Bulma Briefs, the beautiful and smart daughter of Dr. Briefs. She wasn’t Capsule Corp.’s vice president. She wasn’t Goku’s best friend that had gone on a dragon ball hunt to wish for the most comfortable panties. Her whole life had just been turned upside down. Suddenly all those images and flashbacks went wild into her head and became a big blur. Then…she fainted.

Vegeta quickly caught her in his arms before she hit the hard ground.Taking off into the night he flew to her quarters. She needed to rest, for tomorrow would be a difficult day for her.
