Chapter Four: Arrogant Hearts

Warm liquid pressed possessively against her dainty body, lulling her into the abyss of wishful dreams. She floated in the milky blue mass, her legs crossed at her ankles, her chest pressed against her knees. Her chocolate eyes slid closed and she clasped her fingers together around her knees, securing herself so nothing would be visible to the room. Darkness danced behind her eyelids and soon she was lost to a world that should have been safe. Even there, Frieza haunted her endlessly.

Slender feet touched charcoal colored carpet, a lusciously curved body swaying towards the door in darkness. Sytheria turned quietly to give one last glance to Frieza. She wanted to be sure He was sleeping before she slipped out. Her eyes focused on His still form while her energy focused on His. He was tangled in the sweat scented sheets, his breathing deep and even. He was, in fact, sleeping.
Although she was a bit worried every time His tail twitched, she knew it was all part of some demented dream He might have been having. She felt a small smile of satisfaction slither onto her delicate face before she retreated through the door, closing it quietly behind her.
Sytheria tossed her long golden hair over her shoulder as she stalked confidently down the main corridor…despite her lack of clothing. Frieza had ruined any clothing she had been wearing earlier. Another dress, another unfortunate fate suffered at the hands of their ruler. She smiled wickedly. Not that she really had a problem with that. She had plenty of clothes in her own chambers, she just hadn’t brought an extra set with her to His.
She bit gently into her lower lip, sucking at it momentarily. She would have to start bringing an extra set with her every time she was invited to His chambers. That would solve her little problem wouldn’t it?
The stares chased her down the corridor. Anyone who still happened to be roaming the corridors got a vicious stare in return from stormy blue eyes. She dared anyone to say anything about her nakedness. She was itching for a fight actually. She hadn’t stretched her limbs in quite some time. She couldn’t remember the last time she spilt a little blood in the satisfaction of battle. She sighed wistfully, pushing her hair behind her ears.
Perhaps they weren’t staring at her nakedness. Perhaps they were staring at the state of her delicate body. Bruises and gashes decorated her normally flawless skin. A deep bite mark rested at the swell of her buttocks and it throbbed persistently. It was still bleeding and she could feel the beginnings of rabies. Alright, maybe she didn’t, but she would rather be safe than sorry.
Why does He have to be so rough all the time? He’s going to break me in two one day. She snorted and cleared her sore throat. She couldn’t really imagine Him being gentle either. What an obscene thought that was. She let out a chuckle and turned down a darkened corridor. She reached a large steel door and rapped three times. She paused a few moments and then rapped six times before knocking twice more.

At first, it would have appeared there was nobody home. After several quiet minutes, the door snapped open and Sytheria pushed haughtily into the bright laboratory.
"Where is she? The injection is wearing off!" Her voice echoed painfully in the confinements of the room. All of the scientists lifted their heads, staring at the man she had been directing. He quivered in the wake of her anger and seemed at a loss for words. It was as if her very rage constricted his throat, trapping his response.
He cleared his throat slowly and his lavender eyes darted from her face, to the floor, to the door that led to the experimenting room. They repeated the process until she reached out and grabbed him by the throat. "Get her now," she whispered slowly, her voice a growl. "Or you will have Frieza to answer to."

A bell chimed merrily and the computer’s voice clicked to life. “Generation time completed. Have a wonderful day.” It droned before clicking off. The blue fluid in the tank began to drain through the bottom, through the large tubes to disappear and be ‘recycled.’ Obsidian eyes snapped open and he stood, stretching out his newly healed limbs.
Vegeta climbed arrogantly out of his drained tank, his onyx eyes flicking around the room. He had watched the young woman enter and felt her energy rest in front of his tank before hearing her muffled words. Hello, I’m Jace. It was nice to meet you. Heal well, Prince Vegeta. What was this emotion she was feeding to him? Could she really get emotional over a man she had just met? She was not fit to be in Frieza’s army. She should have been eliminated a long time prior.
Vegeta smirked, raising a hand towards the tank she floated in. He slowly gathered energy to his hand and readied his fire when the doors to the room flew open.
"Prince Vegeta, I’m so sorry to interrupt you." A bald headed man knelt before Vegeta, seemingly oblivious to the Prince’s nude state. He was out of breath, his mighty chest heaving to catch the air his body desperately demanded.
"Then why have you interrupted me Nappa?" Vegeta snapped, extinguishing his beam. He crossed his arms over his defined chest and his impatience radiated off of him in heated waves. It would have been fun to exterminate the puny female, fortunately for her; apparently he had other business to attend to.
"We must head to planet Unali now, they are beginning to revolt." Nappa blurted, slowly regaining his breath. Unali had been threatening to riot for some time, but now that they actually had, it was time to move. Annoying little creatures the Unalians, but they could be a handful sometimes. Vegeta growled in annoyance and waved his hand at Nappa.
“Leave me Nappa while I prepare. Be ready for me in five minutes.” Vegeta clipped out. Nappa nodded enthusiastically and got to his feet, turning to leave. “Oh, and Nappa.” Vegeta smirked as the man stopped. “The ship had better be prepared when I am ready to go.”

Zarbon stomped into the laboratory, his eyes seething with annoyance. Their amber depths sparkled with an intensity that could only be rage. He slammed a clenched fist against the bright white wall, sending cracks running over the smooth surface.
"Do we have our plans ready or not? We have to take him from the throne as soon as possible! I will not stand by for much longer." His growl vibrated in his chest and the employees of the laboratory once again lifted their heads to the sudden intruder. A moment passed filled with the silence only the dead would be accustomed to before a choking sound came from within the experimenting room.
Zarbon’s eyes flicked to the doorway to the room only to have the wall shatter outwards. A form went soaring through the air before smashing into the floor. It landed with a crunch, skittering across the tiled floor before coming to a halt against the far wall. Dust rose in large puffs from the broken wall, a slender form stepping through the giant hole.
"That will teach you to say no to me." She spat, her blue eyes flickering over to Zarbon. "Did I overhear you correctly? I know you are not planning the downfall of our high and mighty ruler." Her eyes narrowed and she stalked slowly towards him. He began to shrink down slowly in the waves of her arrogance, hoping she wouldn’t tell Frieza.
"No, of course not. I would never want any harm to come to our wonderful leader." His voice wavered with fear and a smirk graced her full lips. She was bathing in the scent of his fear. It fed her power hungry mind. She wanted to coat herself in it for eternity and never let its warmth leave her body.
"Good, but if I do find out in the future you did have such a plan, I would merely have to castrate you with the reverse side of a knife. That way it will hurt more. Nice and dull." Sytheria promised, her voice low, threatening, and somehow seductive. She shoved him aside and swayed towards the exit. She flipped her shimmering hair over her shoulder and glanced back towards the laboratory. She gave a sultry smile and disappeared through the door.
Zarbon gulped audibly and stared down at his trembling limbs. How could a woman with such a miniscule power level invoke such fear in him? He was, after all, one of Frieza’s most entrusted warriors. He may have seemed like just a ‘lapdog’ to some people, but he was far more significant than that. He was one of the Ice-jinn’s confidents. That’s how the organization was getting most of their information on Him.
He chuckled inwardly at the irony of the situation. Frieza’s closest confident, aside from Sytheria, feeding his precious secrets and plans to the organization that was trying to bring about his demise. It tasted so sweet…and yet, it was so bitter when he thought about it. If it had not been for the leader of their organization, they wouldn’t have gotten as far as they had. Now, he had gone and jeopardized her work by blurting out in his fit of fury. If only he had remained calm! If only he had waited a few more minutes to storm in and rant and rave.
That’s all it was at this point. If only. He slammed his fist into his hand and frowned, staring at the floor. His amber eyes trailed over to the fallen form and he gasped loudly. His eyes widened as he rushed to the woman’s aid. Crimson coated her silken aqua hair, making it sticky and unpleasant. He knelt at her side, touching her fragile body gently, attempting to roll her over. She coughed and her aqua eyes sought out his amber ones.
“Don’t worry, you’re going to be fine,” he choked out, picking her up gently. Of course Sytheria had to attack their head scientist. Of course she had to nearly kill their leader. Maybe he had provided a distraction. Maybe if he hadn’t turned up, she would have stalked over and finished the fragile woman off. Another word that held little significance now. Maybe.
He gripped her tiny body more firmly and turned towards the security enabled door. “I’m going to help you. Please hold on Bulma.”
