Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ THE GUARDIAN ❯ Sacred Saiyan ( Chapter 6 )
Chapter Six
"Sacred Saiyan"
Cosorce dropped her hands and the Draco Flare disappeared. She couldn't risk injury, let alone death, to the Prince. It was, after all, her job. Shai cackled madly. "You see? There's nothing you can do to stop me. Now, we're going to have a little battle. And finally you will DIE!" Cosorce knew it was time. Time to live or die, time to fight for what she believed in, for Great Wolf, for herself and for the Prince. His life was at stake, she had to win. But Shai was more powerful than her. If the Prince was free, she might have a chance, but he wasn't. Then again, he was badly injured and might get killed anyway. Either way, she had to help him. She knew she didn't stand a chance against Shai if she fought normally, she had to bring out the big guns or all would be lost.
She raised her hands high above her head. Vegeta's eyes were filled with pain as he looked on in wonder. He had lost his Super Saiyan form in the many waves of pain that had washed over him, pounding through him, coursing through him as he helplessly was crushed in the DDS' grasp. He felt an unimaginable hatred for Shai. He'd tear him limb from limb...if only he could get loose.
A silvery smoke was climbing in spirals around Cosorce. It circled her ankles and wound slowly up in the shape of a dragon. Her eyes were the colour of liquid mercury and she looked pissed. She narrowed her eyes and growled, "Dragon Flash!" The dragon's cloudy shape roared and a bright, silver flash enveloped the clearing. Cosorce stood calmly and to Vegeta, it seemed nothing had happened. What a pathetic excuse for an attack. He thought coldly. It didn't even do anything! His thoughts were cut short as Shai screamed in pain and fell to his knees. He was holding his hands over his eyes as though they hurt. Interesting, Vegeta thought again, looking at Cosorce. It seems to be a form of something like Solar Flare, but why wasn't I affected?
Suddenly, he realized he was on the ground. In his pain, Shai had lost his hold on the DDS and it had disappeared. Vegeta tried to rise but burning, throbbing pain flared through him and he was forced to sit still.
Cosorce's necklace rose above her head. The chain dropped to the ground and the pendant began to spin, glowing silver. It stopped abruptly and pointed to the sky. A beam of silver lead by a prancing silver wolf shot into the sky. "Starlight!" Cosorce said and the beam returned to the pendant, but it was black with specks of light, looking every bit like the night sky. The pendant glowed brighter, pointing away from Cosorce now; it slowly floated backwards and fixed itself in her chest like a medal, seemingly embedded in her tunic. She howled like a wolf and her hair turned completely silver. It, her eyes and her tail shone brightly. Claws shot from the middle-backs of her hands. They were silver as well and seemed to be made of glittering sparkles. They were long and curved like a wolf's and reached past her fingertips. Shai was still on the ground, to Vegeta's amazement. That attack really lasts long. He thought.
Trunks raced through the woods. He had been somehow teleported back to his room, but his father seemed in danger and he had to help. He couldn't fly, though he wanted to. Shai would sense his ki and he needed the element of surprise, for the strange man who had held him for so long seemed impossibly strong and purely evil. He ran as fast as he could. His lungs burned and screamed for air and his legs ached but his father was in trouble and he had to help.
"Prince, you need to get off the ground." A voice echoed in Vegeta's mind. It was Cosorce. He painfully rose and took to the air, where he hovered in agony. Cosorce nodded her thanks as Shai finally recovered and rose as well.
"You stupid bitch!" He snarled. "You will DIE!!!"
"I don't think so, Shai." Cosorce answered coldly. Shai growled and charged her. Cosorce leaped aside and slashed down with her glittering claws. Shai screamed and fell to the ground, twitching. "Good." Cosorce said calmly. "Now that you're paralyzed, you can just sit tight while I seal your fate." She smiled sweetly and floated into the air to hover beside Vegeta.
"What the hell happened to you?!" Vegeta gasped in pain.
"Quiet, Prince, save your strength." Cosorce replied. Vegeta glared demandingly and Cosorce sighed. "I've gone Sacred Saiyan. Only Saiyan/wolves-Sacred Wolves-can, and only in times of need. Great need and the strongest desire to win, but never for yourself." Vegeta cocked an eyebrow. Cosorce dismissed his questions with a wave of her hand. "I haven't time for inquiries. If he tries to get up, blast him. This'll take some time." Vegeta restrained his questions about what was going on, why she needed his help and what she was going to do and turned his attention to Shai. He was slowly fighting off Cosorce's magic. Vegeta readied himself in case Shai managed to get free.
