Chapter 3
Where'd He Come From?

Several years had passed since Darkside's destruction. Gohan had been going through high school for several months, several times leaving class to play superhero. Roxus and Lazarus watched him the entire time, ensuring that he was never in danger. Eventually all three of them, plus Goku, Piccolo, Krillen, and 18, entered in a martial arts tournament. "I don't see why you humans bothered showing up," Lazarus said to Videl, Gohan's classmate/girlfriend (neither would admit it at the moment, though).

"Like you're one to talk," Videl retorted. Roxus tapped them on their shoulders and pointed out at the arena, where they saw Krillen going up against a huge fighter. "Hope the little guy doesn't get hurt too bad."

Lazarus smirked. "Actually, I'd be more concerned about the big guy than Krillen."

"...so I'm going to give you something. I'm going to give you the first punch. C'mon, right here in the gut!" Pintar, the big guy, said.

"'Kay," Krillen said before giving Pintar a "light" punch to the gut that had him doubled over in pain. After slapping him around a little, Krillen threw the larger fighter out of the ring.

"Told ya," Lazarus said as Videl stared in shock.

After a couple more matches, Gohan was going up against a tall red man with white hair. Kibito, the man in question, had dared Gohan into going Super Saiyan. "He's Saiyaman AND the Gold Fighter?" the androids heard from the stands.

"Wow... he's talented!" came from just off to the side from the first voice.

Then two men rushed into the ring; one grabbed Gohan and the other stabbed him with something. It all happened too quickly for Roxus and Lazarus to react. By the time they had started running in, the two men had flown off. Videl ran in beside them, crying out, "Gohan!" Kibito glared away the paramedics and placed one hand on Gohan's back. A few seconds later, after an energy reaction that the androids couldn't identify, Gohan stood up. Before they knew it, Gohan and Videl were flying off, so of course they followed.

When they caught up, Roxus said, "Gohan, where are we going?"

"What's with your voice?" Videl asked, surprised.

Roxus shrugged. "It's the sign of the reason behind Lazarus' comment involving 'you humans.' We're androids."

Videl smirked. "I won't believe that until you prove it." By way of answer, Roxus took his left hand off and tossed it to her. Videl screamed before noticing the distinct lack of bleeding.

After a while of her staring and gawking at it, Roxus said, "Excuse me, can I have my hand back now?" Videl started, as if she had just noticed it was in her hands, and threw it back to its owner. "Thank you," he said as he reattached the hand.

Everyone suddenly stopped. "Videl, Roxus, Lazarus, you should go back," Kibito said.

Videl nodded and started flying back. Roxus and Lazarus, however, simply said, "We're stronger than you believe."

"There's no way you can be strong enough for this battle- I don't sense any ki from you."

Roxus said, "We're androids- what do you expect?"

Kibito tilted his head. "What's an android?" he asked.

"Basically, it's a machine that's made to look like a human," Gohan answered for them.

"Oh. Well, you can come along if you think you're strong enough," Kibito conceded.

Suddenly, they saw five people with enormous power suddenly appear right next to them. There was no movement, nor was there any sound; it seemed as though they had just simply appeared there without bothering with the laws of physics involving teleportation. The man with black hair that went straight back looked around and said, "Now why does this look familiar...?"

"I dunno, Dad," the giant next to him said. "What do you think, Mom?"

The woman he was addressing looked over and said, "Oh, look- there's Kibito."

"Gak!" the black-haired boy said. "When are we?"

The apparent father in the group looked down as a previously-unnoticed symbol glowed on his forehead. "Okay... we never happened in this universe," he said. "Instead, there're two extra androids."

"How do you know about them?" Gohan demanded.

"Umm... er... later!" the man said just before the five vanished, leaving only a sword.

When the sword landed, the group landed with it. "Wonder why he left this," Roxus said.

Suddenly, the black-haired man reappeared and grabbed the sword, saying, "Forgot this..." Then he disappeared again.

"This is getting weird," Lazarus said. "Did he forget anything else?"

"Say, aren't these the clothes he was just wearing?" Roxus, who had gone over to investigate the place of the man's redisappearance, asked.

The man reappeared again, this time only in his underwear, and grabbed the clothes from Roxus. "Gimme!" he said, then disappeared again.

"Okay, now it's just disturbing," Gohan said.

"Is he forgetting anything else?" Kibito asked. After a few seconds he answered himself, "Guess not."

"We've got to catch up to those guys," Roxus said before flying off. Everyone else shortly followed. When they arrived they were just in time to watch one of the men who attacked Gohan explode. "What's going on?" Lazarus asked the Supreme Kai.

"This is the ship of the wizard Babidi," the Supreme Kai answered. "No offense, but weak people like you shouldn't be here."

"None taken, but we're not weak," Roxus answered. He looked at Krillen and Piccolo, who had apparently decided to tag along, and said, "Right?" They both nodded.

A little later, everyone but one man who looked a lot like a demon went inside the ship. "Who's the guy who stayed out?" Lazarus asked.

"That's some guy named Dabura," Goku answered.

"He knows that we're here!" Piccolo shouted suddenly. Shortly afterwards, Dabura flew up and blasted Kibito before spitting on Krillen and Piccolo. The people he spat on quickly turned to stone.

"If you want to save your friends, then follow me!" Dabura said before flying down to the entrance of the ship.

Roxus looked at the others. "Do we have a choice?" Everyone who wasn't stone jumped down and entered the ship. When they were at the bottom of the shaft the entrance opened into, they found themselves in a plain circular room.

Shortly a door opened in the only feature of the room- a bulging area of the wall. One of the people they had seen earlier stepped out. Before anyone could react, Lazarus said, "This one is not worth the effort."

"We'll leave him to you Saiyans," Roxus stated. The three men in question nodded and started playing Paper, Rock, Scissors to see who would fight first, much to the Supreme Kai's dismay. Vegeta won and almost literally tore the creature apart.

On the next floor, they were up against a frog-like beast named Yakon. "I'll take this one," Lazarus said. Shortly after the two started fighting, the area around them turned pitch black. Lazarus smirked. "You think this gives you an advantage?" he asked Yakon.

Yakon grinned (not that it had much choice in the matter) and said, "You can't see, so you can't fight as well."

Lazarus closed his eyes, still smirking. "You fool... who said I couldn't see?" he asked, opening his now-red eyes.

"What's wrong with your eyes?" Yakon asked, surprised.

Lazarus tilted his head and smirked some more. "Ever heard of infrared?" The two then started fighting again. Lazarus quickly overwhelmed Yakon and finished him off with a blast down the throat.

On the next floor, Dabura stepped up to the plate. "I'll take him," Roxus informed the others. The area around them quickly switched to the outside. *Trying to give me an advantage? He'll regret that.* The two quickly started fighting, punching each other hundreds of times. At one point Dabura pulled out a sword and swung it at him; Roxus tried to spin to the side, but he wasn't quite fast enough and lost an arm.

Dabura smirked. "That should be enough."

Roxus looked at his shoulder and said, "Dammit, now I'm gonna have to get a new arm."

Dabura suddenly blinked. "What? No energy? But how...?" he asked, seemingly to himself. Then his eyes caught sight of the sparks flying from Roxus' shoulder. "Ah... he's a machine... no wonder." At about that point Vegeta made a smartass comment which Dabura heard but Roxus didn't quite catch. "Ah... Babidi, take us back."

The room faded back to normal and Dabura stepped back through the door. A little while later, on the next floor, Vegeta suddenly started yelling in pain. After a while Vegeta stopped screaming and raised his head. Everyone could see the stylized 'M' on his forehead. They were teleported back to the World Martial Arts Tournament, and Vegeta started a speech before firing a blast at Goku, incidentally destroying the stands behind him. "All right Babidi, I'll fight him, but only if you take us somewhere that people won't get hurt," Goku said. Shortly afterwards they found themselves in a barren area. Goku and Vegeta started fighting as the door to the final level opened and Gohan, the Supreme Kai, and both androids jumped through.
