Note: I've spent my life watching horror movies so romance isn't really my thing. Although I will give it a shot.

Bulma tapped her pen against her desk. To be honest she was having a mental block. Like always Freeza had asked her to design a new weapon, and like always he expected it to be bigger and better than the previous one.

She had no choice, being his best scientist was her survival plan. If someone was to come in and do her job better than her, she might as well say bye bye Bulma. Even if she was his prize scientist, Freeza had a habit of eliminating all his unneeded help.

"Miss Briefs, if I may ask, how long do you intend to tap you pen on your desk like that?"

Bulma turned to face her assistant Brolly. She absolutely hated the guy. All she wanted to do was rip him apart limb from limb, then drink his blood, doing it slowly so he would suffer. He could drive her up the bloody wall. Like Vegeta he was also a Saiyan, one of the few that had survived the destruction of Vegeta-sei. Freeza insisted that he worked with her, mainly to keep her under control. She had a habit of smashing things when ever she got mad.

Bulma gritted her teeth, his voice alone annoyed her. "As long as I bloody well please," she replied.

Brolly sighed and leaned up against the wall. The look of utter boredom was displayed on his face. Unless he was needed he had nothing to do.

Bulma had spent the last twelve years of her life being a scientist for Freeza. She mainly built weapons and repaired ships. She hadn't minded working for him. It was better than being a whore, or one of the victims on his many purges. As a matter of fact she enjoyed working with machines, it was a talent that just came naturally to her.

She continued tapping her pen, mainly because it annoyed the hell out of Brolly. She smirked in satisfaction as he winced every time the pen made contact with the desk.

Eventually he managed it ignore the sound completely. Bulma through the pen down and stormed out of the room. She really could do with a break.

Even though Freeza was supposed to be a sick minded bastard, according to most of the people she knew. She had to admit he sure had taste.

Freeza had had many elegant court yards built into his palace on ice-sei. All could only described as marvellous. Fountains, exotic flowers and plants, featured in every single one of them. Making them all wonderful and pleasant to look at. Bulma came here a lot to calm down. Her work was nothing but stressful, and she had never learnt how to control her temper.

The sweet smell of the flowers immediately soothed her as she inhaled the air. It was better than the disgusting oil smell that filled the entire tec block.

She collapsed and lay back in the grass. The black sky of ice- sei stared down at her. It always looked like a black void, with the stars as small specks of light shining through.

It was a marvel that Freeza could get anything to grow. He had personalty gotten people to install lights and heating to every garden in the building. The outside temperature of the planet was below zero, and unless you were an ice-jin you would have to be mad to go outside.

It could get boring for her, she rarely left the planet. There was no use for a scientist on a purge. All they every did was kill and mass destroy. The last time she had left the planet was when she was 19, and that was only to fix a ship in space. There hadn't been much to see, only stars and small planets in the distance.

She could remember no other world but ice-sei. She had spent her entire life longing to go see something different. To set foot on other planets and explore, to find out how other cultures lived and breathed. A very small part of her even envied the soldiers. They saw something new every day, even if they destroyed it.

She sighed, maybe one day Freeza will let her go out and see other planets. Until then she could only dream.

The sound of voices caused her to sit up. Out of curiosity she looked to where they originated from. As she stared through the water fountain in the center of the courtyard she noticed two soldiers talking near the end wall.

One of them had a tail and long black hair that ran down his back. Bulma strained to remember his name. Raditz, that was it. she had seen him a few time talking to Brolly. It always seemed that the last remaining Saiyans preferred to stay in their own little group. She rarely saw them socialising with other races. Maybe they thought they were too good for that. They seemed a very arrogant race. As she looked closer she could see the second man was also a Saiyan. Except he was bald. Bulma didn't know the name of this one.

She crossed her legs and watched them, they were too far away to hear but she still found them interesting. Even through Bulma considered them the lowest form of life in the universe it was amusing to watch the expressions on their faces as they talked.

Freeza had influenced her to hate Saiyans ever since an early age. He had been constantly raving onto her about how weak and pathetic the entire race was. He had also added how it had only taken him a flick of the wrist to destroy the entire planet. She had learned to believe every word he had said, and agree to it .

Although she had heard women tell her how good they are in bed. She had heard small rumours from some of the elder servants who were young when Vegeta-sei was in Freeza's control. They were always gossiping about there experiences with men. She herself felt completely unsatisfied with the guards and soldiers she had experienced so far. If Freeza ever found out what she was doing behind his back he wouldn't be pleased.

To him she was his little innocent cold hearted scientist, wouldn't do a thing to upset her master. Bulma had come to a conclusion long ago that he was gay, which was good for her. It meant that he would never sexually harass her, like she had heard he had done to so many of the soldiers. Even though not one soul would dare talk about it.

She herself felt no pity to those he had hurt. Pity was something that was considered weak. She had learnt long ago that she was to look after herself, and only herself. All those below her were nothing. Not one of them was worth her precious time.

"Didn't anyone tell you it's rude to stare."

Bulma turned round to see Vegeta behind her with his arms crossed. He didn't look mad, he looked more like he was just amused. She quickly turned back. "I can stare if I want to," she replied. Bulma tried not to blush. It's wasn't that she liked him, she just didn't expect him to come up behind her like that. "How long have you been behind me?" she asked.

"I've been watching you since you came in."

"Hypocrite," she muttered. Bulma could slowly feel her rage return. Knowing him he probably though he was some tough guy. He did seem very arrogant.

He sat on the grass beside her. Bulma avoided contact and look straight ahead of her. She was tempted to get up and leave, but she saw no reason too if she was here first. Vegeta followed her gaze. "Can you hear what their saying?"

Bulma remained silent and tried her best to ignore him. She hoped he would lose interest if he didn't get a reaction out of her.

"Oh yes of course you couldn't with your weak hearing," he smirked.

Bulma turned to him and narrowed her eyes. Even if he had just come in he was begin to get under her skin. "You know you are very annoying."

He smiled in satisfaction at her words. As if he had achieved something.

Bulma gritted her teeth. "Don't you have a job to go off and do or something."

Vegeta lay back in the grass and relaxed. "Most probably, but why should I do anything that gay bastard says."

Bulma looked at him and blinked. Never before had she heard anyone talk about Freeza the way he just had. Everyone she knew who hated Freeza were all far too afraid to voice their opinions out loud. She hated people that were afraid. Fear was a weakness.

He closed his eyes. "What about you, since your Freeza's little pet shouldn't you be working?"

She screwed her nose up in anger. "I'm not Freeza's little pet," she knew his words were true but she refused to admit it.

Vegeta scoffed "Oh no of course not," he said it with a sarcastic tone.

Bulma growled. She was beginning to want to add him to her hate list along with Brolly. "You have some nerve."

Vegeta sighed. "No, I'm just completely honest."

Bulma looked him down, since his eyes were closed he failed to notice. He was handsome, he looked better than most the men she saw floating around. For one he looked as if he actually took a shower more then once a year. She shook her head. What was she thinking he was a Saiyan, she hated the entire race..No correction, Freeza hated the entire race. She herself had nothing to hate them for. Except for the fact they were brainless arseholes. Although Vegeta looked as if he could posses some intelligence, even if it were only very little.

She stared at his calm face. It was a wonder how he always remained calm. As if he were in control of his life, even though he wasn't. He opened one eye to see her starring. Bulma quickly looked away, she could feel her cheeks go red instantly.

Vegeta smirked, he had seen her looking. "How about we continue this conversation later."

Bulma looked emotionless ahead of her, preying her cheeks would return to their normal colour as soon as possible. "When."

Vegeta got up and looked down at her. "How about dinner tonight."

Bulma looked back in shock. "WHAT!" she could hardly believe that he would ask that sort of question.

Vegeta's smirk widened. "Or would you raver let me have the last remark." He said it such a way that it would damage her pride to say no.

Bulma bit her lower lip in rage. "I'll be there."

She watched as Vegeta got up and left. She didn't want to admit to herself that she actually found him attractive. She had no idea why. Maybe it was just some crazy part of her that liked dangerous men. It was as if she loved the danger of going behind Freeza's back with the possibility that she could get caught.

Bulma looked back at the two Saiyans. They were both leaning against the wall mocking her.

She clenched her fists and got up to leave. What the hell was she thinking.
