CHAPTER EIGHT

Sunlight found Bulma's face and she opened her eyes slowly. She looked towards the open drapes and smiled. It was morning.

She tried to sit up, but there was a tan arm thrown across her waist. She traced the arm back to its owner and found it to be none other than Prince Vegeta.

She gasped. Of course! How could she have forgotten the wonderful night they had together? She was reluctant at first, but now she realized she had no reason to be afraid. Vegeta hadn't forced himself on her like a wild animal. He'd taken her to the limit, but never crossed the line. She had never felt pleasure like that before.

She ran her fingers over his arm and he let out a low moan. She looked at his face and he opened his eyes. "Good morning."

"Morning," he grunted. He pulled his arm away from Bulma, but she grabbed onto it.

"No," she said. "Just hold me. I want you to hold me for a while."

He gave her a strange look, but folded his arms around her and she snuggled close to him.

"Vegeta?"

"Hmm?"

She began to laugh. "Oh Kami, I'm so sore."

He smirked. "You enjoyed yourself, didn't you, woman?"

She smiled. "Don't get so full of yourself. I've had better."

He actually raised his eyebrows at that. He studied her face for a moment and then frowned. "You're lying."

She laughed again. "Yeah, I know." She kissed him on the nose and tried to pull away from him.

He tightened his arms around her and sneered. "You asked me to hold you, right?"

"Don't be an ass," she said, slapping his arm. "I want to go take a shower."

"We can take one together, if you'd like," he suggested, in a sexy tone.

She slid off of the bed. "I'll pass, thank you. I have a limit, you know."

"I never said anything about having sex in the shower," he said. "A shower is a place to wash oneself."

She stuck out her tongue at him. "Oh, so you're the innocent one, now?"

He fell back on the bed and folded his arms behind his head. "You shower now and I'll take mine after you."

She nodded and walked through the connecting door that led to Vegeta's bathroom. She looked at her nude body in the mirror and gasped.

There was a hickey on her neck, one on her breast and countless others. Wow, he's good, she thought.

"I see you've covered me in your mark," Bulma shouted.

She heard his very masculine laughter from the next room and closed the bathroom door. She stepped into the shower with a smile on her face.

Amara woke to the sound of rustling clothes. She sat up in the bed and pulled the sheets up to cover her naked body.

"What are you hiding from?" Radditz asked. "I've seen it all before. Nothing new."

"Very funny," she said. "You're getting dressed? Where are you going?"

"My father came in and told me that Kakarot will be here soon. We have to go out and greet him."

Amara sighed. "Oh goody."

"Father said he should be here after we eat breakfast." Radditz finished getting dressed and turned to her. "Did I tell you he's bringing someone with him?"

"No, you didn't tell me that," she said, climbing out of the bed. "Is it a woman?"

He shrugged. "Hopefully. Though she can't be all too bright if she's coming back with him."

She laughed. "Oh Radditz. Now don't insult the woman. Kakarot he's…he's just…a lecher."

"You say it like it's okay."

"No, that's not what I meant," Amara said. "He draws women to him with his charm and then he pounces on them like a sex-crazed maniac."

"What first attracted you to me?" he asked.

Amara laughed. "First it was your looks. When I found out that you were related to Kakarot I was a little hesitant. But as I got to know you and saw that you were nothing like him, I knew you were perfect for me."

He smiled and walked over to her. He put his finger under he chin and tipped her head upwards. He kissed her, deeply.

He pulled away. "Would you like to know what attracted me to you?"

"I don't know," she said. "Do I?"

He smiled. "I would all ways see you walking down the halls, looking so appealing. Nappa told me that you were a councilman's daughter. That's when it all started. The thrill of wooing a first class woman was all I was out for. After we got really close, I realized that I never wanted to let you go."

"Radditz." She slid her hands up to his broad shoulders and he picked her up and laid her on the bed.

"Breakfast and Kakarot can wait."

Vegeta and Bulma stood on the landing grounds, awaiting Kakarot's arrival. Bardock was standing nearby. Amara and Radditz came running out to meet the others.

"Where have you two been?" Bardock asked, teasing evident in his voice.

Radditz scowled and Amara giggled and moved closer to him. He put his arm around her and avoided eye contact with his father.

Bulma looked from Radditz to Amara and then she looked at Vegeta. He shook his head and the sound of an approaching ship drew everyone's attention to the sky.

The Saiya-jin pod was slowly descending towards the landing pad. Everyone watched it touch down and waited anxiously for the hatch to open.

With the sound of rushing air, the hatch opened and there was a moment of stillness before a figure stepped from the ship. Kakarot slowly descended to the ground and everyone was surprised to see that he was alone.

"Hi everyone," he said. "I didn't realize I was so popular."

Amara frowned and stepped away from Radditz. "Your father asked us to come and we did because we respect him."

"Still bitter, Amara?" he asked, walking towards her. He stood in front of her and grinned. He reached out to touch her face, but she stopped his hand in mid-air.

"Don't you dare touch me," she said. If looks could kill Kakarot would have died instantly.

He smiled. "All right." He looked over at Radditz. "I see that you're with my brother now. Wow, you sure do get around. Was it because he reminded you of me?"

Amara slapped him and the force of it was so strong that the sound echoed in the distance. He turned to her wide-eyed. He touched his hand to his cheek that was all ready beginning to turn red.

"How dare you compare Radditz to your two-timing ass!" she yelled.

"Two-timing?"

"Yes! Oh, don't tell me after all this time, that you've the reason I told you I never wanted to see you again. I walked in on you in bed with another woman, right after I'd just gone out dancing with you. Remember now? You figured I wouldn't come back to your quarters, but I had forgotten something. I came through the door and I heard another woman's voice. As I stood in the doorway, I kept telling myself that it wasn't another woman. I was convinced that you would never stoop as low. I had to find out for myself, so I stood by your bedroom door and I saw you and her. You didn't even notice me there. You were too caught up in the moment. I made up my mind right then that I never wanted anything to do with you. I bet you can't even comprehend how much you hurt me."

Amara averted her eyes. There was a moment of silence. All eyes were on Amara and Kakarot. Radditz walked over to her and put his hands on her shoulders. He began to pull her away, but Kakarot reached out and grabbed his wrist. Radditz glared at him.

"Wait a minute," he said. "We can't just keep walking away from this problem forever." He looked at Amara. "Amara?"

She raised her eyes to his.

"I apologize for what happened that night," he said, earnestly. "I'm asking for your forgiveness. I was a fool and I thought you and I were just having fun. I didn't know you felt so strongly about me. I hope we can still be friends after you've forgiven me."

A shocked look came over her face. She looked into his serious eyes and gave a small smile. "I never thought I'd hear those words pass your lips." She smirked. "I'll think about forgiving you."

He laughed. "Good old Amara."

Radditz scoffed, gaining Kakarot's attention.

"Save your suspicions, brother," he said. "I'm not apologizing to get Amara to love me again. I've kind of settled down, I guess you could say."

"Oh really?"

He went to his space pod and stood near the hatch. "Come on out."

A dark-haired woman stood in the doorway and peered out at the people.

"Everyone this is Chi Chi," Kakarot said.

"Chi Chi?" everyone asked, collectively.

He helped her down from the pod. She looked around at the Saiya-jins and then her eyes fell on someone she recognized. "Bulma?"

"Chi Chi? Is it really you?" Bulma asked, running over to her. "It is you." She hugged her. "It's been so long since I've seen you."

"Yes, it has," Chi Chi said.

Vegeta watched in awe. "How do you know her, woman?"

Bulma turned. "She's from my planet. We were friends before I left."

"Mommy," a tiny voice came from the pod.

Chi Chi ran over to it. "Come here, honey, it's okay. No one is going to hurt you."

A small dark-haired child emerged from the pod next. Chi Chi took him in her arms and he looked around wide-eyed.

"I-is that your kid?" Amara asked.

Kakarot nodded. "Yes, didn't I tell you that I settled down?"

Everyone nearly fell over.

"A mate and a child," Bardock said. He went over to Chi Chi. "What's his name?"

"Gohan," she replied.

"So I finally have a grandchild." He held his arms out to Gohan. Gohan looked up at his mother and she nodded. He slowly made his way over to Bardock. "So Amara, Radditz, when am I going to get some more grandchildren?"

Amara raised an eyebrow and looked at Radditz. He was fuming. She pulled him away from the others. "What's wrong?"

"He's been on some planet with another woman all this time," he said. "He had a child with her. I bet he was relaxing all the while. And we were all here, struggling to keep the people from destroying themselves. Sure, the revolution has started now, but there has been dishevel in society for a long time now."

"Please, Radditz," Amara began. "The best thing we can do right now is forget about our differences and start over. If he was able to settle down and keep one woman for all this time, maybe he has changed. Let's just give him another chance."

"I don't know…"

"For my sake," she said. "We need to focus on getting life back to normal on Vegeta-sei, okay?"

He nodded. "Fine."

Bardock was speaking quietly to Gohan and Bulma and Chi Chi were conversing also. They seemed to have a lot to say to each other.

Kakarot walked up to Vegeta. "Prince Vegeta." He gave a low bow.

"Welcome back," he said.

He grinned. "Thanks, but I need to have a private conversation with you. It's very urgent."

Vegeta looked at him and then nodded. "All right. Everyone let's go back inside the palace."
