The Start Of A New Love
Juuhachigou sat up in her room at the Kame house, it had been a year and a half ago since she met Kuririn, and she had to admit she was taking quite a shine to him..
She shook her head at the thought and stood up from the bed on which she sat, hearing Kuririn and ..‘her’ talking downstairs.
She walked out of the room and stood at the top of the stairs, watching Maron and Kuririn sit on the couch and talk from behind the corner.
He had a nervous expression, while Maron, had the fake upset look she used when she wanted to do something or wanted something.
"B..but Maron, I want to wait.." Kuririn said, stuttering.
She pouted her over glossed lips, her blue eyebrows narrowing over her light blue shining eyes, "Wait for what?"
"'Til we get married.."
"Kuririn! I can't wait anymore! I haven’t had 'it' for 5 months!"
His eyes widened as she finished the sentence, "Maron.. We've been together for a year..."
Maron knitted her brows together, trying to look upset, but doing it so wrong, so fake, "I'm sorry, Kuririn... I just can't wait for you.."
Kuririn tried his best not to let the tears take over him, his mouth twitching at the right side, slightly.
"We need to break up, Kuririn..."
He hung his head low, nodding once weakly, not saying a word.
Maron sighed and stood up, lowering her *too* short pink dress, turning sharply, her long dark azure hair falling over her shoulders after being lifted by the twist in her step, and walked towards the door, "Call me, baby. We'll talk later." Then she opened the door, and closed it with a loud bang behind her. The last sound of her was her car driving away from the small house.
Kuririn watched his tears stain the cherry red couch which he sat on, he knew she had no intent on even thinking about him anymore, never mind bothering if he called or not. ‘And why should she? She’s so beautiful..’ He thought to himself, slowly shaking his head and clenching his eyes tightly, "Why...Why must I always let the ones I love go...It's all my fault.. I love her..."
Juuhachigou closed her eyes, turning around slowly and walking back into her room. She felt her heart sink as she heard the words, 'I love her'.
She opened her thin ice blue eyes and growled to herself, muttering under her breath, "How can I be so selfish... Of course he loved her, and now he's heartbroken and all I can think about is myself..." She sat on the bed and leaned back against the headboard, thinking of what she could do, how she could help. Over the years, she 'proved' she wasn't the caring type.. At least to other people.
Meanwhile, Kuririn sat downstairs, not moving from the same position he was in before, not even bothering to wipe the tears of which he spilled. Thoughts came across his mind: Flowers, diamonds, candy, knives.. wrists...
He opened his eyes, "She won't come back.. no matter what I give her.. I've done it too many times.." The last two words he thought of played in his mind, all signs pointed to "Do it", over and over again.
His thoughts were broken as Juuhachigou walked down the stairs, he didn't look up to see her, only hearing her footsteps against the creaky floorboards.
She looked down on him as she walked to the back of the couch, "Kuririn... Are you alright?" She twitched as she said the words, she was normally cold towards him, but he needed kindness. Just this once.
Kuririn wiped his eyes and looked up at her, too upset to notice that her usual cold self was being nice to him, "Oh, yeah, I'm fine.."
Juuhachigou felt like rolling her eyes at the tone he used, he sounded more upset than he was with his none upset voice. But she just shook her head, "I heard it all, Kuririn.. I'm sorry."
Kuririn felt anger and more tears rise as he was even more reminded, embarrassed that there was someone who knew what a loser he was that he couldn't keep a girlfriend. "What were you doing? Spying!?"
Juuhachigou expected herself to shout back and punch him in the face or something violent like that, Kuririn was expecting it also by the way he backed off abit.
She didn't shout, didn't punch or slap, kick or knee, but just simply put her hand on his shoulder.
Kuririn stopped shaking from the slight fear and looked up at her, surprised as much as she was inside, his face looking like a deer in headlights, but she didn't show the surprised emotion on her face, just a small smile at the corner of her mouth.
"No, I just overheard.. She was loud.."
Kuririn took Juuhachigou's hand off his shoulder slowly, now noticing her new kindness towards him, "Thank you, Juu-chan.."
For once, Juuhachigou smiled at the nickname, coming from him it made her at ease, made her feel like she belonged here on this small island, with no threats. Others stayed away from her because of the way she acted and her reputation. Kuririn had only called her this a few times before, and she shouted at him for it.
She gave a small and simple nod before taking her hand back, turning and walking upstairs.
It was then that he made a stuttering sound.
She looked over her shoulder at him and raised a blonde eyebrow, "Yes, Kuririn?"
Kuririn looked down, "I-I.. was.. wondering if you.. Would like to watch a movie tonight...Satan City movies are always open..."
Juuhachigou blinked, was this a date? The thought played in her mind, but without thinking she said, "Sure, alright.."
She bit her lip secretly, thinking.. 'What the hell do I do? I've never been on a 'date'..'
Kuririn's face brightened up a little, "Great.." Now he was a little freaked, why was she being nice to him? And.. Is this a date? A date with the deadly, beautiful Cyborg? Pfft, not likely. She wouldn’t see it that way, so nor would he. Or at least, he’d try not to. "So, at 9, that okay Juu-chan?"
The name again.. "Yeah, fine." she whispered as she walked up the rest of the stairs, she couldn't help but smile, she pretended to not know why.
Kuririn looked at the clock: 8: 30 : He smiled and put on some aftershave, he decided to see what to watch when he got there, since it was only like a gentleman to let the lady choose. ‘Thank God she didn't seem like the romantic movie type’, he thought to himself.
Juuhachigou thought, and put on some dark blue jeans and a light blue tank top after taking them from her wardrobe, brushing her just below chin length light corn silk blonde hair with her comb, the silk like hair was always easy to brush.
Kuririn ran over to her room across the hall, 'Wait! She'll know what a desperate idiot you are if you rush!' his mind told him, so he stopped running and walked, knocking on her door with his shaking knuckles once he reached it. "Um.. Juuhachigou?"
She snapped out of a daydream and stood up from her stool in front of her mirror, walking towards the door and opening it, looking down upon Kuririn's bald head, the poor guy was very small.. around 4 foot, she was a foot and 6 inches higher than him.
He looked up at her and smiled, "Ready to go?"
Juuhachigou nodded and walked out from the room, following him down the stairs.
***
Later they arrived at the movies, Kuririn looked up at the names of the films that were showing, "What do you want to see?"
Juuhachigou put her hands in the back pockets of her dark blue jeans, and looked up at the movie titles, scanning the names with her eyes, "Beneath the staircase?"
Kuririn looked at her, "Is that what you want to see?" He blinked, a woman choosing a 'scary' film isn't what he expected, but he didn't mind at all.
She glanced down at him, "If that's alright with you. All the others sound even more pathetic."
Kuririn smiled and nodded, ignoring the tone she used, "Sure is." He walked over to the ticket booth, straightening his white shirt. "Two adults for Beneath the staircase, please."
The teenage boy at the ticket booth blinked and looked down at him, "For your parents?"
Kuririn went crimson with embarrassment, looking over at Juuhachigou as she laughed a little behind the back of her pale hand. He smiled secretly at her laughing, it was so cute, yet rare.
After all was sorted, they went into the refreshment room.
"What would you like, Juuhachi'?"
Juuhachigou looked at the drinks, "A coke would be fine."
Kurirn got two cokes, one for him and one for her, not getting anything to eat as not to make himself seem like a pig. He had a problem with eating too much, yet it never showed on his small well built frame.
They walked into the movie room, sitting down on the front row in the middle. Kurirn passed her the coke.
They watched the first part, boring as always, nothing but talking and business.
Through the movie they talked, about nothing really, just about things inside the house that need repairing and past experiences.
It got to the middle of the film. Kuririn grinned and knew a scary part was coming now, as the characters in the film walked down the staircase, *knowing* that Juuhachigou would grab onto him from fright.
Kuririn looked at her and snickered, then looked to the screen, seeing an ugly monster close up on the screen, his eyes widened and he screamed in a high pitched tone.
Juuhachigou watched the screen and raised a brow, then looked at Kuririn, "You're scared?"
Kuririn was really embarrassed now, she was supposed to be scared, not him.
'I guess I should have known better then for her to be scared of something like this.' He thought, now embarrassed for being so stupid. Kuririn laughed nervously, "Hahaha! Of course not!" He heard giggling behind him from some teenagers, cursing quietly to himself.
Juuhachigou thought to herself, looking at how adorable he was when he was stuck on what to stay with his lying, he was always bad at that. She slowly looked back to the screen.
***
Finally, they arrived home.
"Funny how people can get away with making cheap stuff like that.." Juuhachigou blurted, in her monotone voice.
Kuririn, still a little shook up from the movie, nodded, "Heh heh.. yeah.."
Juuhachigou sat on the couch and closed her eyes slightly.
Kuririn watched her and sat next to her, looking at her, in a daydream.
She opened her right eye and looked at him, catching him looking at her, "What?"
Kuririn blinked and jumped a little, snapping out of it, "Oh.. um.. nothing.."
She yawned, covering her mouth with her palm as done, "Tired.."
"You should get some rest, want me to take you to your room?"
Juuhachigou shook her head, "No, I feel like sleeping here tonight.. I can't really be bothered to go upstairs."
Kuririn nodded as the girl closed her eyes, only a few minutes later falling asleep.
He looked at her and tapped her shoulder lightly to check if she was asleep.
She slipped from her position and leaned against him as she was touched, her shoulder against his chest as she was at an angle.
Kuririn's right arm was pressed against the couch and against her back, he then put his right arm around her front, gently hugging her "Thank you.. Juu-Chan.." he didn't know why, but he felt like he had forgotten all the pain inside that he felt from Maron as he looked upon Juuhachigou's face, holding her in his arms.
'So gentle.. Yet so dangerous at the same time..' He stroked her pale cheek with his fingertips lightly, hoping she wouldn't twitch.
She just laid there, in his arms, the softness of her skin warming up his small yet firm body.
He was surprised, he was expecting her to feel cold and hard, since she was mostly metal. But all he felt was a soft warmness.
***
Morning soon came, the golden sunlight shining in through the windows.
Juuhachigou lifted her head, sweeping back her corn silk coloured hair from her face and behind her left ear. It was then she noticed Kuririn holding her, around her chest and her upper back. She stared at him, quietly with no emotion over her face, not quite knowing what to say or do.
Kuririn opened his eyes soon after she moved her arm to pull back her hair, he looked up at her, then his own eyes widened as he was greeted by her icy blue ones, and he looked nervous, expecting something to happen.
He was right, something did happen, though not involving a fist or a voice.
Juuhachigou kissed his lips soft and long, closing her eyes as done, no thoughts in her head but how she felt for this man.
He looked at her, soon closing his eyes, he decided to ask questions in his mind later.. His secret feelings that he held for the elegant, beautiful woman rushed out of him as he pressed his lips back against hers.
A minute passed, and their lips parted from one another’s.
Juuhachigou opened her eyes and looked at him, her expression emotionless yet full of emotions at the same time. So many, she was still finding one to choose to put on her face.
Kuririn smiled lovingly, taking Juuhachigou's hands in his, though being smaller than her, her hands were small compared to his, "Juu-Chan, you say your eyes are fake.. But they're beautiful..."
Juuhachigou looked at him, he must have known that she liked the nickname otherwise he wouldn't have said it at an important time like this. She felt her heart racing, also sinking at the negative thoughts of what he would do in her mind.
She closed her eyes tightly, she couldn't stand the tension any longer, "Kuririn.. I love you!"
Kuririn felt his face brighten from a shocked expression quickly, he couldn't lower his happiness no matter how hard he tried, nor did he want to.
Juuhachigou opened her eyes as she heard no sounds, looking at Kuririn slightly from behind a curtain of silk hair, as she turned her head a little, still not believing what she said, she expected to hear 'Sorry Juuhachi, but I still love Maron.'
Kuririn chuckled a little.
Juuhachigou felt her face burn, her cheeks flaring into a light pink blush as she put on an angry face, "What's funny!?"
Kuririn looked up at her and grinned, friendly and cheekily like he always did, "Nothing is…"
"Then what?", She felt a lump at the back of her throat, feeling like she would die if he kept her waiting like this, only to say he didn't care about her.
Kuririn squeezed her hands lightly, "I love you too, Juuhachigou..."
She just stared at him, again not knowing what emotion to choose from, then her soft lips played a loving smile upon them. "I'm glad, Kuririn..."
