"It's not fair! Why haven't I been having dreams that make me blush?" 18 complained as she maneuvered her car around the orange construction cones. Aren't they ever going to fix the stupid roads?! The wipers beat steadily against the pounding rain sheeting against the window.

"Actually as a demon, you're more likely to make your companion blush than the other way around. Demons are more comfortable with their bodies than angels, who accept societies rules and somewhat warped moral standards, tend to be," Krillin corrected her before taking a bite out of the burger they had stopped to get at the same fast food restaurant Goku had taken Chichi to a couple of days before. "Besides," he continued after swallowing, "You don't know that you haven't. Of course I'd be very upset if you have because if you did, I wasn't in it!"

"Well could I start a dream and drag you into it?" she asked him, casting a glance at him from the corner of her eye.

"Technically since I am a human who was an angel," he squirmed in his seat, "yes." The poor tiny man blushed furiously before admitting, "Of course I understand it's a lot better outside of the dream world."

"That can be arranged," she purred, turning her head to look predatorily at him. He's sooo adorable when he's flustered!!

She was once more watching the storm although this time from the sanctuary of the bed. Her back was propped up against the headboard and her knees were drawn to her chest. Her hands were curled around the cup of tea that did nothing for the ice that had settled in the pit of her stomach.

It wasn't supposed to be like this. She felt him enter the room but she was so deep in her thoughts that it didn't really register. Why did he get his complete assignment in the real world before she did? Someone was messing with the order of things, which meant that something wasn't right. Also the speed with which they were all awakening was incredible. It should have been another couple of months before any of them had finished regaining their powers as demons, even with the knowledge that had been shared with them.

Bulma looked up as his shadow fell across the bed and had to forcibly tell herself not to stare. It was a pity that she wasn't listening to anything she was saying. His hair was still slightly wet and there was a slight drip from his hair. She watched a drop of water trailed down his chest and she couldn't seem to take her eyes off it as it slid over the chiseled planes of his stomach. Down and down until it hit the top of the black slacks he wore that hung dangerously low on his hips. She had dug those pants out of one of the guestrooms but she couldn't for the life of her think of any guest they had ever had who had worn anything that looked so good. She jerked her attention to his face when she realized he was speaking to her.

"How are your ribs?"

"Huh? Oh, they're fine. I went ahead and healed them. I've regained that much of my ability at least."

"I… I'm sorry for that," he said awkwardly after a pause.

"It's alright, you were in pain and didn't mean to."

"That's it? You're just going to forgive me? Just like that?!"

"Just like that," she agreed raising an eyebrow at his agitation. "It was an accident and you just apologized. Why wouldn't I forgive you?"

"Because I hurt you!" he stalked away, his tail whipping the air behind him in distress. She stared at it, watching the furry appendage thrash about in an almost hypnotic dance. Finally he returned to her side at the bed.

"Um Vegeta? Can I ask you a favor?"

"What?" he asked, obviously still dwelling on earlier.

"Can I touch your tail?"

"What?" he looked at her blankly.

"Your tail. Can I touch it? Or would it still be too sensitive at this point? I mean it just grew…" she trailed off when he didn't answer. Only his mate was allowed to touch his tail. He brought his tail around and held it out for inspection. He knew she didn't realize what she was asking, but then she also didn't realize that he had every intention of making her his mate before sunrise…

Short chapter. All right, insanely short chapter. Damn life anyways for intruding on my writing time. If they keep this up and someone is going to die! Ahem, anyways… yeah I'll write more next time or something to make up for this. Stupid people… stupid windows…
