Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Time & Tide ❯ Blood Wolf ( Chapter 11 )
Chapter Eleven
"Your highness...it's about time you got here. I was beginning to think you had lost your nerve," Frieza said in a smug and haughty tone, turning around to face the saiiyan queen who had never looked more serious in her life. Her gloved fists were clenched, thin brows curving into a V to fit her sneer, her crown shining and jewels glistening. She looked Amazonian.
"Enough talk Frieza, I've come for our freedom," she slowly began to stalk towards him, "and your head." Frieza began to laugh, watching her intently as she slowly came to a stop, a couple of feet before him.
"Such big talk coming from such a dainty and slender female," Frieza ridiculed. Zafira scoffed, her own smugness showing on her face, "Heh, if I recall, I was one of your best. I killed a lot of your most hardcore warriors. Not so 'dainty and slender' now, am I?" Frieza began to laugh again, "You know, your husband had the same cocky attitude as you have now...that is, before I killed him."
Zafira's eye twitched, he had hit a nerve.
"And what would your husband think of you now, cavorting with another man?" Frieza smirked and Zafira's eyes widened, "Don't think I wasn't paying attention when that cloaked man took you from the ship. It seems Sdhoirm is more resourceful than I thought. My cameras caught the two of you in a very interesting scene. Vegeta would be heartbroken, his beloved wife sleeping with his best friend. Why I bet he and your dead elite are cursing you as a whore down in hell right now..." Frieza didn't utter another word as Zafira rushed at him with lightning-quick speed, shoving him through his viewing window and out into space.

"Attention, attention, an airlock has been broken in Frieza's quarters. I repeat, an airlock has been broken in Frieza's quarters," a female computer voice amplified through all the halls and rooms of the massive ship. All heads rose to listen, including Sdhoirm who stormed out of his respective place to locate Frieza's brooding quarters.
~*~
"You sneaky little bitch, how dare you!!" Frieza yelled, outraged before lashing out towards the queen and punching her clear across the face. Due to the zero-gravity in space, she didn't fly too far away and she managed to stop her momentum. She cradled her cheek and wiped the thin trail of blood from the side of her lip, examining the red stain on her glove. It had been years since she had been in battle with a worthy opponent. She looked up at Frieza who already rushing towards her and she smirked. This was invigorating! The two clashed, punches and kicks that only a well-trained eye could spot. At the moment, the small remainder of Frieza's men on the ship were watching the intense battle, some with oxygen masks. Sdhoirm came in and blasted them all to oblivion before perching before the broken window to watch the fight.

Frieza kicked Zafira in the gut, knocking her back and forcing her to clench her stomach in pain. Taking the opportunity, Frieza rushed up to her and grabbed her by the hair, pulling her to him and tilting her head back in an uncomfortable position.
"And to think, you had such a promising career ahead of you. And you gave it all up for a few nights in your king's bed. Tell me, was he that good?" Frieza mocked her. Zafira sneered and elbowed him in his stomach. Once he loosened his grip, she turned around and kicked him away from her. She coughed a little and then slowly lifted her hands above her head. A determined look filled her face, her eyes directed at her hated enemy. Ice blue ki began to flare from her shoulders and quickly circulate up and around her arms, sparkling and crackling with energy like firecrackers. The ki began to form in her balled fists and she quickly faced them before her.
"FINAL FLARE!!!!" she screamed as the ki came out as a blast instead of a ball and made a bee-line for Frieza, engulfing him in the blast.

It was very quiet in the halls of Frieza's ship. Every warrior had been destroyed by the Saiyans, or was in the process of such extermination at the moment outside. Vegeta, Vaya, Kakarrot and Chi-Chi were still winding their way through the empty corridors, but they met nothing and saw no one.
"This is really amazing," Kakarrot murmured as they slowed their pace to a walk. "I can't believe we destroyed all of Frieza's warriors."
The others nodded. They approached a corner.
Suddenly, a blast of energy came hurtling down the perpendicular hallway, just barely missing Vegeta's head as he ducked. It flew past them and smashed into a pile of rubble from earlier on farther down the hall.
"What the HELL...?" Vegeta cried as their heads whipped around to the other end of the corridor.
There stood Dodoria. Pink-flabbed, beady-eyed, lipstick-mistaked, elephant-sized Dodoria. His palm was smoking from the ki he had just generated, and he was smirking stupidly at the Saiyans teenagers.
"Well, well, well, what have we here?" he sneered. "A tiny little band of rebel puppies far away from home. Where are your mommy and daddy, little kiddies?" He directed the last sentence at Vaya and Vegeta.
Although Kakarrot and Chi-Chi were baring clenched teeth and standing in their respective fighting positions, Vegeta and Vaya were completely relaxed. They glanced at each other, and smiled.
"If it isn't the big blowfish-on-steroids himself. We've been looking for you, Dodoria," Vegeta smirked evilly. Much to the shock of their best friends, Vegeta and Vaya began walking towards Frieza's second general.
"Just what do you think you're doing?" Dodoria asked. "Looking for a fight?"
He tried to sound tough, but the Saiyans noticed a faint trace of fear in the undertone of his voice.
As Vegeta and Vaya continued to approach, Dodoria's eyes suddenly went wild and he shot a barrage of ki blasts directly at them. Explosions erupted around them, and smoke clouds billowed through the hall, blocking everyone's view of each other...
Then the smoke cleared, and Dodoria nearly had a heart attack. Vaya and Vegeta were untouched...Vaya had created an energy barrier around them, which had deflected the attacks harmlessly off the walls. Vaya smirked.
"Blame the genes," she shrugged.
Then without further hesitation, Vaya broke the barrier and she and Vegeta charged at Dodoria.
The next few images were a blur. Dodoria had no time to defend himself. He had totally underestimated the actual power and speed of the two teenagers...Vegeta caught him with a punch to the midsection, and Vaya smashed her elbow into his face to send him flying across the hall. Phasing in and out along the corridor, Vegeta and Vaya followed, continuing to beat the living daylights out of Dodoria. Kakarrot and Chi-Chi could only stand and stare.
After only a few minutes into the assault, Dodoria threw up his hands in front of his bloody face. "No! No! Please stop! I'm begging you, no more!"
Vegeta and Vaya did stop, but the expressions on their dark faces were far from merciful.
"Why should we honor your wishes?" Vaya snorted. "You kidnapped us and threw us into a cell to use as bait!"
"You helped Frieza and his troops try to wipe out our entire race!" Vegeta snarled.
"You serve as Frieza's second general!" Vaya added.
"And," Vegeta finished with an evil smile, "you're far too ugly and weak to be allowed to live."
Not waiting to hear the pink alien's response, Vegeta and Vaya raised their hands, and blasted Dodoria into oblivion.
After the smoke and dust dissipated, Vegeta and Vaya wiped off their gloved hands and headed back to Kakarrot and Chi-Chi.
"Nicely done," Kakarrot smirked approvingly.
"We thought so," Vaya replied airily.
Chi-Chi gazed at the spot where Dodoria used to be in utter contempt. "I am so glad that we won't ever have to deal with him anymore."
"That may be true," Vegeta said softly, "but Frieza is still worse than a thousand Dodorias, and he is still alive."
No one said anything, but everyone knew that they were all thinking the same thing...they were praying that Zafira and Sdhoirm were still alive as well.
~*~
"It...seems I underestimated you...Zafira," Frieza panted, wiping blood from a cut on his cheek. She had put up a great fight, but he was still smirking. He was still in his first form and in order for her to defeat him, she'd have to be more powerful than he was in his final form. Heh, fat chance.
"I wish I could say the same for you," Zafira said, and unceremoniously zoomed towards him, striking him in the face and causing his left eye to blacken and swell. If he didn't do something quick, she'd beat him in this form! He began to chuckle, grabbing her attention, "You think you've won...you have no idea what you've gotten yourself into..."
Zafira raised a brow.
"I'm sure you've heard rumors that I can transform. Like Zarbon, yes, but I have 3 other forms. This is my way of conserving my power. You've only faced me in this form and you're panting like a dog," Frieza laughed.
"Alright then, coward! Transform and show me your power! Unless you're bluffing--trying to slither out of a fight!" Zafira threatened. She was well aware of the rumors of his transformations and was preparing for it. Frieza shook his head, "Silly girl. You're getting in over your head-"
She struck him again, and this time with plenty of aggression. The force knocked him back a good few meters. Frieza growled and spit out a tooth. When he looked at it, he crushed it into dust and glared daggers at the saiiyan queen. She would definitely pay for that.
"Very well then, little girl! But you were warned!" Frieza yelled before he started transforming. He began to bulge in different areas and stretch slowly as he grunted. The unnerving crunch noises made the queen shudder inside, but outside, she didn't flinch, didn't change her demeanor in any way.
In a split second, his body grew to more than twice his regular side! He was gargantuan! His horns stretched out to resemble that of a Taurus and his head began to grow to match his big body. When the transformation was done, Frieza smirked, flexing his bare muscle and balling his fists. It had been quite a while since he had been in this form. He looked up, expecting the queen to tremble and stare in fear. He got his hopes up for nothing. She stood, floating in space, her same cold look on her face.
"So you've acquired a bigger body. You're still that tiny little lizard inside. And I'll beat you until I find it," Zafira said with contempt. The Tsiru-jin roared in anger and rushed towards her.

Vegeta and Vaya charged towards Frieza's quarters, well aware of the explosions coming from outside the ship that were shaking the entire vessel. They had sent Kakarrot and Chi-Chi back outside to lead the troops, who would be waiting for their next orders. The only thoughts inside the mind of the prince and his girlfriend were focused on finding their parents as soon as possible.
Neither one of them had ever been to Frieza's room before, but Vegeta had at least a slight idea of where he was going from listening to his mother and father. Soon they found themselves in that very corridor.
Broken bodies were everywhere, and there was blood all along the walls. Every door in the hall was broken and smoking. Vaya inspected one of the bodies outside a large door.
"My father did this," she murmured.
"What? How the hell can you tell?" Vegeta asked in surprise.
"Dur, you idiot, they're all cut up. Look at that, you think somebody could punch that clean through a ribcage? A sword did that." Vaya turned to the door and gripped the bent metal edge of it. She tensed her muscles, and tore the whole thing off. Sparks showered around her and Vegeta.
"Nice," Vegeta said with approval as he bounded inside. Vaya followed him.
As soon as they entered, they knew it was Frieza's chambers. It was a wide-open space, with marble floors and a domed ceiling. The far wall was a huge window...or it used to be. It was now smashed to pieces, and glass and more dead bodies were strewn over the floor. Standing by the window and staring out into space was Sdhoirm.
"Dad!" Vaya cried.
"Sdhoirm!" Vegeta and Vaya rushed over, and Vegeta grabbed his soul-father's arm. "Sdhoirm, are you okay? Is everything all right? Where's my mother?"
Sdhoirm didn't reply. He simply gazed in mute shock out at the starry sky. Vegeta and Vaya suddenly noticed that his face was ghostly white.
"Daddy...?" Vaya whimpered nervously.
She and Vegeta slowly turned their attention to Sdhoirm's line of sight. They immediately froze in their tracks, too shocked to even move.
All they could do was watch while the monstrous Frieza and the Saiyan Queen Zafira fought for control of the Saiyan race.
~*~
"AAAAAH!!!!" the large Tsiru-jin screamed as the queen smirked, holding a large piece of what used to be his left horn, in one hand.
"I think I'll use this to make a necklace for my daughter-in-law," Zafira said, appraising the piece of Tsiru-jin horn.
"YAAAAH!!!" Frieza yelled as he rushed her and back-handed her, only to have her block it, letting go of the horn to float in space.
"The audacity!! Using my horn as jewelry for some silly ape girl!!" Frieza yelled in utter contempt. Needless to say, he was growing very pissed from her insults, and the fact that she was still up and kicking only added to his anger. Without warning, Zafira punched him in his gut, causing blood to spew from his mouth. With a roundhouse kick, he was knocked away from the queen and shoved into a large piece of what used to be one of his fighter shuttles. He gasped, recognizing the insignia and looked over to the distance to see brown furry dots in the distance and big explosions. He gasped.
"It seems this fight is not going in your favor. My soldiers are making quick work of your men and I will make short work of you," she said, turning to him, "Why not stop embarrassing yourself and transform again. Maybe you'll be more of a challenge."
Frieza's eyes widened. He couldn't believe what he was hearing! He expected her to be sprawling in pain and begging for mercy, but instead she was daring him to transform again to be more of a challenge! Well, he had to otherwise she'd take him down!
She was panting, but you couldn't really tell from a distance. Cuts and bruises on her smooth, mahogany skin, blood staining her clothing, of course you couldn't really tell when one was wearing black, and still, she held that eager look in her face. A face that said she wanted more! She wanted a challenge! She wanted to fight! Her blood was blazing; what an adrenaline rush!
"Very well..." the Tsiru-jin finally spoke and began his next transformation.
~*~
"Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god."
There was no sound inside the vast chamber of Frieza's private quarters, except for the monotonous chanting of Vegeta in shock. Vaya and Sdhoirm were utterly silent, faces pale, eyes wide. Sdhoirm's jaw line was white from clenching his teeth, and his fists were balled so tightly that his fingernails were cutting into his skin. But he didn't even notice.
"We have to do something. I mean, we can't just sit here..." Vegeta said desperately, not daring to take his eyes off the fight.
"Yeah, we have to help. Come on let's go," Vaya said, starting forward, but suddenly she felt her father's grip on her arm...very tight.
"No. You'll only put yourselves and Zafira in danger. Not until things start to look bad." Sdhoirm's voice was very soft and very dangerous, and there was an edge to it that was like a razor-sharp blade.
Vaya and Vegeta were surprised at the way he sounded. They had never actually seen Sdhoirm angry before. They turned to look at him, and for the second time since they had entered the room they stopped dead still.
Sdhoirm's face was no longer pale, and his face didn't look afraid anymore. Instead, his sharp teeth were bared in a snarl at the warriors in space, and his shadowed eyes were narrowed. But the strangest part...the part that frightened Vegeta and Vaya the most...was that instead of being their normal jet-black, in the starlight the teenagers could see that Sdhoirm's eyes were flame red.

Zafira gawked as Frieza's body began to stretch out. His mouth stretched forward along with his huge limbs, taking on a frog-like form. Ugh, he looked even uglier now. She didn't need a scouter to tell her that he was even more powerful than before.
"Heh heh heh, well my little queen, you seem to be at a loss for words. Yes, I know this form isn't much to look at, but I'm even more powerful than before! And more than a match for you now!" he yelled in his new, altered voice which sounded inhumane. He rushed towards her, striking out his fists, but luckily, Zafira's ever quick reflexes helped her to dodge his hits and kicks. Zafira pushed back, just barely avoiding another swing. Then without warning, rushed towards him and kicked him in the face, busting his nose open and earning a painful yell from her opponent. If she continued to anger him, it would continue to cloud his judgment and thus leave him open in various places. If she only knew how in control he was.
"Ah!" she screamed when she felt something wrap tightly around her. Damn it! How could she forget?! Frieza broke out into hysterics, "I'm disappointed, Zafira. I expected better from you." His tail tightened around her, earning a loud gasp. She was wrapped up from the neck down in his constricting tail like a mouse caught by a snake, a porcelain one. She sneered and struggled, but couldn't get free.
"Give it up, you can't get out of my grip. Now, I will enjoy the pleasure of watching you die a slow painful death, being crushed like the annoying gnat you've become," Frieza said with a sadistic grin as his grip tightened even more. There was a crack sound, one of her arms, she thought in horror. Zafira finally couldn't take any more and started screaming. She couldn't remember the last time she'd felt so much pain, and it only worsened as he continued to crush her.
"AAAAAH!!!!" she yelled, her head tilting back as she felt her arms and legs going numb as Frieza's cackles mixed with her screams in a cacophony of pain.
Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of red light that lit up the starry expanse of space around them. A streak of lightning blasted between Frieza and Zafira, white-hot fire searing through Frieza's flesh and bone. He shrieked with pain and surprise as his tail split in two, uncurling from around Zafira's body with no muscles to keep it going.
If not for the fact that there was no gravity in space, Zafira probably would have dropped out of the sky. Her vision was clouded from the lack of air, and every bone in her body ached. Frieza was cursing and spitting and his eyes were as big as dinner plates. Zafira followed his gaze, and did a double-take.
Sdhoirm hovered close by, holding his sword downward tight by the hilt, out and away from his body. But he could not have been Sdhoirm. Not the Saiyan Master of Swords, whose brooding eyes sparkled and who made it a point to never lose his temper. This warrior was something else altogether. His eyes were glazed over in the color of blood, and his needle-sharp teeth were bared in a feral snarl. His long cloak was gone, and his chest was heaving with fury. The aura of ki around him was yellow-white and pulsing, fueled by the wild anger that had changed Sdhoirm into a cruel and vicious animal.
"Sdhoirm" in the Saiyan language meant "Blood Wolf". Now Zafira could see where Sdhoirm had gotten his name. She saw why even the most arrogant of Elite warriors took orders from him without hesitation. She saw why even her husband had refused to argue with him. And she saw why he was said to be the strongest Saiyan alive.
Frieza was regarding Sdhoirm in a way that suggested he'd be perfectly happy if a sudden black hole managed to swallow the Saiyan sometime in the very near future.
"You little cockroach, how dare you do that to MY TAIL! I should have killed you myself when I had the chance!" he growled furiously.
Sdhoirm's expression of rage didn't change. His body was straight, but his head was bowed slightly, throwing his blood eyes into shadow. He radiated an anger that was almost evil, and his voice was a snarl. "A mistake that you will live to regret. Or, rather...you won't, because you'll be dead much sooner than that."
"Are you saying that YOU plan to defeat ME?" Frieza scoffed. "With that little toothpick?"
Sdhoirm merely smirked malevolently. He raised the sword, and with a flick of his wrist sent it spiraling towards Frieza's ship. The weapon twirled through space before catching its blade in the metal side of the enormous vessel.
"I don't need a sword to kill you. Although, by your views, it would have been the preferable option..." he said, his fury-harsh voice soft, but just as deadly.
"Why is it that I am unafraid?" Frieza sneered. "I incapacitated you before with just a squeeze of your tail. Zafira has fared better against me, in both my first and second forms. But then again..." his face twisted into a sadistic grin, "maybe she has been getting more of a workout from your nightly exercises than you have."
The scowl that crossed the sharp lines of Sdhoirm's face and the low growl that escaped his throat would have been enough to send King Vegeta running for cover. With the quickest of hard glances, he warned Zafira to stay out of his way. Then the lightning bolt streaked forward once more, catching Frieza totally off guard and sending him hurling into space.
Before Frieza had flown too far, Sdhoirm appeared in his way, and punched him back in the direction he had just come from. As Frieza tumbled over and over, trying to regain control, Sdhoirm suddenly phased in front of him, giving him a hammerblow to the back to knock him flying again. Powered by his intense fury, Sdhoirm continued his game as if he was playing Ping Pong with himself. Many times Frieza tried to fight back, but Sdhoirm treated each attack as if Frieza had the strength of a child and was moving in slow motion. The evil Tsiru-jin in his third form was totally outclassed in every way by the livid Saiyan.
It was all Zafira could do to follow the movements. She wondered briefly why Sdhoirm had never shown this power before.
And she wasn't the only one.
~*~
Back on the ship, inside Frieza's chambers, two teenage Saiyans didn't know what to think.
Vegeta was beside himself with frustration. "But...But why...why is Sdhoirm like this? I mean, he looks...like he's out of his mind...I...I don't understand..."
"I think I do," Vaya whispered. She stood against the rim of what used to be the window, gripping the edge with her hands and bending the metal. She turned around to look at Vegeta over her shoulder. Her eyes were huge. "This is why my father works so hard to keep his temper under control at all times. Because he knows...if he were to lose it...he would lose all self-control..."
Vegeta focused on the floor, only half-listening to what he was hearing. Part of him could barely believe that Sdhoirm was capable of such frightening rage...and the other part felt a slight sense of betrayal for never having been alerted to this by his own soul-father.
Vaya's voice lowered to a whisper as she turned her attention to the battle once more. "Right now, my father is as dangerous to Frieza as Frieza is to us."
