Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Time & Tide ❯ The Secret's Out ( Chapter 13 )
Chapter Thirteen
The hundreds of oozaru Saiyan warriors had diminished back to normal size soon after decimating Frieza's army. They had returned to the surface of Vegetasei, where they were waiting for Queen Zafira and Sdhoirm to come back. The Tagnik-zur army was tense, and even the giant eagles were flying in circles anticipating the return of their allies. Vegeta and Vaya, standing at the center of the gathering with Kakarrot and Chi-Chi, were the most worried of all.
Frieza's spaceship was just visible from the ground as a speck in the now-starry night sky above them. Without any warning the speck became a bright flash of light that fanned out in all directions and almost blinded the Saiyans and the Tagnik-zur. Then an enormous shock wave swept over the planet, felling every warrior and sending even the eagles tumbling in the sky, temporarily stunning them all.

Their passion resembled that of two lovers who hadn't seen each other in days. His big strong arms remained wrapped tightly around her small waist, minding her bruises as he kissed her. Her hands rested gently against his broad chest as the two lovers expressed their happiness of finally being alone.
"Don't you think we should let the others know we're alive?" Zafira breathed, pulling away from his lips to gasp for air. He replied with a mischievous smirk, "Later...right now I want you, woman." Without another word, he snaked a hand behind her head and pushed her back into another long-awaited kiss. After a good few minutes, she pulled away, gulping in large breaths of air.
"Sdhoirm...we need to find the others...before you decide to take this farther," she said, slightly panting but a smirk donning her bruised and dirt-covered face. He kissed her one last time and then slowly pulled away, "Oh alright."

"My lord...perhaps we should head back.." one soldier dared to speak during the uncomfortable silence. Vegeta shot him a glare and the man grew quiet. The new king turned to his mate who seemed in a daze. She had lost her father twice.
"Vaya..." he said softly and then gently pulled her into his arms. She slowly rested her head against his chest, burying her face to avoid the shame of crying in front of him and everyone else.
"Who died?"
Every head snapped to the left to spot a familiar figure in the distance. Every face turned from mourning to shock. Sdhoirm, clothing tattered and bruises on his toned skin, came limping towards the group. In his arms he carried their unconscious queen; she had passed out on the way there, her body in the same condition as her mate's.
"S-Sdhoirm?"
"Dad...?"
Sdhoirm managed one of those smug, cocky smiles and said, "We kicked his ass," and then passed out, falling to his side with his mate still in his arms.

He slowly blinked his eyes open to find himself in the infirmary, his lady love smiling down on him.
"Finally decided to join us in reality, hmm?" she said warmly to which he reacted in sitting up quickly and pulling her into his arms. As he nuzzled her neck, he asked, "Where are the kids?"
"Preparing for the coronation. I told them I'd get you ready in time," Zafira spoke, her hands running through his wild lion's mane of hair. "We bandaged up our wounded, and the soldiers can finally rest at home with their families. The Tagnik-zur have returned to their homeworld. Judging by the way their hands were moving, I'd say they were trying to communicate they were impressed with us. You have some interesting friends, Sdhoirm..."
"Speaking of which, what will become of us?" Sdhoirm said, almost worried and pulled her to eye-level with him. She looked back into his eyes.
Suddenly, the infirmary door almost exploded off its frame, and in bounded a colossal whirl of fur and feathers. Zafira barely had time to jump up before Sdhoirm was pulled off the table, pinned between two giant paws, and rubbed roughly and adoringly by the big fluffy head of his Emera, Cassinian.
Sdhoirm started to laugh as he pried his arms from the Emera's grip, trying to block his face from the furry onslaught. "Hey, old buddy, where've you been? I sent you and Warfrost off hours ago, you should've been back by now!"
Cassinian whimpered like a pup and gave Sdhoirm an affectionate headbutt. But Zafira was confused. "Sent them off?"
Sdhoirm nodded as he struggled from Cassinian's paws to climb up on his back between the huge white wings. "Yes. Emeras don't get along well with the eagles...natural enemies, apparently. So I sent Warfrost and Cassinian into the jungle, where they would be safe and wouldn't cause any trouble." He rubbed Cassinian's ears. "Isn't that right, buddy?"
Cassinian snorted and growled imperiously, tossing his head. Sdhoirm smiled fondly and patted the animal's neck. He stroked Cassinian's striped fur for a minute, and then turned back to Zafira.
"I guess if Cassinian's back, Warfrost is back, too." He glanced down at Cassinian for confirmation, and the Emera made a snuffling noise through his nose. Sdhoirm nodded as if his pet had answered "yes", and he offered his hand to Zafira. "Come on, let's get out of here. I'm getting hungry."
Zafira chuckled and took his hand, and he pulled her gracefully onto Cassinian's back. Then Sdhoirm's loyal pet carried them regally out of the infirmary.

"The new leaders of Vegetaseii: King Vegeta and Queen Vaya!" the saiiyan populace went wild with pride and joy. Their new leaders would make their parents proud, the dead and the living. Kakarrot and Chi-Chi stood off to the side, smiling with pride. Kakarrot placed a hand on his mate's slightly swollen belly and smiled warmly at her, pulling her into a kiss. Kakarrot had become Vegeta's #1 elite and bodyguard and Chi-Chi the bodyguard to the queen and the next prince. This would be, of course, after raising their own child.
"Look at you, all grown up and ruling the kingdom. I think I might cry," Zafira said jokingly, making her son blush slightly and laugh.
"Mother..." Vegeta managed to mutter.
"Are you blushing? Is my little king blushing now?" she continued, pinching his cheeks and causing him to break out into laughter.
"Cut it out!" he laughed, blushing harder as his mother pulled him into an embrace.

Late that night, Vegeta sat in his new bedchambers: his father and mother's old bedroom. It had been newly decorated and the bed replaced with a new one. The materials were soft black and red silks. He rested his chin on his fist, a little nervous when he sensed her enter the room. He looked up and he could only stare. Vaya stood before the bathroom door in a short black nightgown. Something her mother-in-law probably bought her to shake up the new king. After her little "talk" with the former queen, Vaya knew what to do. She waltzed up to her mate, her hips swaying and her walk as seductive as the look on her face. She stopped before her king and straddled his lap.
"What's the matter, my king? Do you like what you see?" she asked, her smirk never faltering. Vegeta could only nod before being pulled into a passionate kiss.
Vaya's nightgown soon left her body, as well as her king's clothes and he was on top of her, his hands and lips everywhere, leaving no spot untouched. Vaya, not knowing what to do with her hands, merely grabbed onto his fiery hair as he captured one of her breasts in his mouth and caused her to moan. Vegeta slowly positioned himself on top of her, a look of anticipation and worry on his features. She could only nod and smile warmly, "I'm ready."
He plunged into her, earning a silent gasp and grunt from himself. This was the first time for the both of them, naturally instinct took over but they were still inexperienced. He continued to push inside of her, trying to be as gentle and as slow as possible until the pain subsided and her wincing and gasping turned to moaning and a contented look. He started to thrust harder and increase his pace, making her moan and gasp louder, her nails digging into his back as he took her into the night.

Several months later...
"Here, let me hold him..." Zafira chuckled gently as she took the tiny bundle in her arms and smiled down at the little face gazing back up at her with wide eyes. "He's so adorable..."
"Yes and so feisty. He won't let me put him down until he's drank every last drop from me," Vaya retorted, resting comfortably against the large plush pillows of her bed. The baby gurgled and reached up a hand to his grandmother whose smile deepened and extended her finger to him to hold.
"He will be very strong," Zafira said out of the blue.
"Oh I'm sure of that. Adrian will definitely raise hell when he becomes a teenager," Vaya said, shaking her head lightly with a smile. Adrian yawned and kicked his left leg once, his eyes starting to thin as sleep began to claim him.
"Well at least it's no battle getting him to sleep."
"Are you kidding? Unless I've got milk every night before his bedtime, he'll cry himself to sleep!" Vaya exclaimed, recalling the past few nights it took to get the newborn prince to bed, "But he just gets held by his grandmother once and he's out like a light." Zafira chuckled again, "Well, Sdhoirm always said I had a way with children. Just give him a little time and he'll stop. I had the same problem with Vegeta when he was first born."
Sdhoirm smiled warmly, watching his mate, daughter and grandson from the door. His family. He sighed, already scheduling training dates with the baby in his mind.
"How are they?" Sdhoirm turned around to see Vegeta standing before him in his usual royal robes (black and red saiiyan armor and a matching cape). Vegeta motioned for him to walk down the hall with him. Sdhoirm smiled, "Oh they're fine. Just having the type of conversations mothers have."

Vaya was laughing uncontrollably in her bed as Zafira sat at the foot of the bed beside her with a smirk on her face.
"Are you serious?" Vaya looked at her incredulously.
"Mm-hmm, and then little Veggie-chan came toddling in, naked as the day he was born and he spoke his first word..." Zafira said with a composed smile. Vaya was hanging at the end of her every word.
"Food. 'Me want food', he said and I couldn't stop laughing. He was so adorable!" Zafira said, causing Vaya to burst out into laughter again.
"Oh I'm sure Vegeta would love to hear about that," Vaya said, barely catching her breath.
"He'd never speak to me again if I did," Zafira said with a smirk.
"Okay, your secret's safe with me." Vaya managed to stop laughing and take a breath. "So how are things going with Dad?"
"Hmm?" Zafira turned and looked at Vaya and she couldn't help but smile in a motherly way, "So, you found out."
"Mm-hmm, I kind of...caught you two kissing in the infirmary," Vaya said uncomfortably, a blush creeping over her features. Zafira giggled lightly, "So that's why you'd been acting so strangely around me after your father was healed." Vaya nodded and the two laughed.
"I'm sure you talked with Sdhoirm. We love each other very much and I plan on being with him no matter what anyone thinks. And seeing as how you're the queen now, I can be with him without worrying about the people frowning on it as badly as it would've looked when I was still ruling," Zafira explained and Vaya nodded.
"I understand. And as long as the two of you are happy, I'm happy," Vaya said, reaching over to hug her mother-in-law/step-mother. It was still so weird, but she couldn't think of anyone better to take care of her father. Zafira held her tightly, smiling.

The next day, Vaya was walking with Cassinian down the halls of the palace on her way to Vegeta's room, but then she heard the sound of voices coming from another room in the hall.
"You tell him."
"No, you tell him."
"No, YOU tell him."
"No, YOU tell him!"
Vaya walked into the room that the voices were coming from. There stood Zafira and Sdhoirm, in the middle of the floor, arguing back and forth. Neither one looked mad, but they did seem seriously stressed out.
"Look, you're his mother, you do this kind of thing all the time," Sdhoirm insisted.
Zafira's mouth fell open. "Never THIS! This is sort of a first time thing, okay! Besides, you're his soul-father, you would have a better handle on the situation!"
Cassinian cocked his head quizzically.
"Um...what are you guys talking about?" Vaya asked slowly.
Zafira and Sdhoirm both jumped. They looked at Vaya as if they had no idea who she was, but then they glanced at each other, and their expressions changed as if she was a godsend.
"VAYA! Are we glad to see you. Could you do Zafira and me a really, REALLY big favor?" Sdhoirm pleaded with his daughter. Zafira nodded hopefully.
Vaya looked skeptical, but she shrugged. "Sure, I guess. What's the problem?"
"Um...tell Vegeta about...you know..." Zafira said in a small voice, and pointed to herself and Sdhoirm.
Vaya turned a strange shade of green. But the looks on her father and stepmother's faces were impossible to ignore, so she sighed and threw up her hands resignedly. "All right, all right...I'll tell him for you."

Zafira and Sdhoirm soon found themselves standing just outside Vegeta's bedroom door, trying to listen in on what Vaya was saying. But her voice was too quiet for them to hear, and they were straining so hard that they jumped three feet when Vegeta suddenly let out a screech and flung open the door.
The new king stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the two adults outside, waiting for his reaction. He stared back and forth between the two of them, and his eyes grew as wide as dinner plates. Vaya stood behind him, rubbing her temples in exasperation.
"It IS true!" Vegeta gasped. "You...Why didn't you tell me? You...I...but...we...YOU...!" He didn't quite seem capable of forming a complete sentence.
Zafira put her hands on her son's shoulders and explained to him about her feelings for Sdhoirm and his for her, and gradually Vegeta seemed to calm down. He looked over at Vaya, and noticed that she didn't seem fazed by it, so he started to feel a little silly. Sdhoirm, however, had a nervous look on his face that suggested he was waiting to be struck by lightning at any second.
"And...how long have you two been...a thing?" Vegeta asked calmly.
"About two years now..." Zafira replied.
"And you knew about this?" Vegeta directed to Vaya.
She nodded. Vegeta nodded as he realized that that was what had been bothering her that time in the courtyard. Suddenly, he gave a weak little laugh, and smiled.
"You know, sometimes, when I was little, and mad at my father for not being there or for yelling at me or something, I used to wish that Sdhoirm could be my father instead. I guess this is kinda like me getting my wish, huh?" he shrugged.
Sdhoirm blinked. "You're not mad?"
Vegeta shook his head. "No. Well, not anymore, because I was at first, but I'm over it. I just think...I need to lie down..."
He turned around and sort of staggered back into his room. Vaya closed the door behind him, and faced the adults.
"Wow, he took that better than I'd anticipated," Sdhoirm said with surprise.
Zafira nodded. "Yeah...you think he's really okay with it?"
Vaya smiled. "He'll be all right. He just needs some time to come to grips with it. But I think the way we explained it will make it easier for him to do that. Give him time."
And Vaya was right. After a little while, Vegeta emerged from his room looking tired but much better. He even had the courage to talk to Sdhoirm and Zafira about what they were planning to do about their relationship. The idea was definitely new to him, but he cared about his mother and soul-father too much to treat them like outsiders. With time he wouldn't even worry about it any more.
