Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Tortured Soul ❯ chapter Seven ( Chapter 7 )
Buu watched from his position above the humans. Since the house was so small he had flattened himself so that he lay almost parallel to the ceiling. He was very curious about Alysa's parents. Again he had to remind himself what parents meant. Sometimes he had trouble remembering.
He had watched in amazement as Alysa had changed before his eyes. And he had thought she was timid before. She fairly shrunk in her mother's presence.
Buu took careful note of the child that had been shoved into arms.
She had called him her brother. Buu didn't know what that meant but apparently he was important to her.
He sneered to himself.
Humans such sentimental creatures.
He also didn't miss the forming bruise on the child's forehead. He had been struck hard….and not long ago. Buu frowned; a blow like that to a child could be dangerous. It could cause damage that would not heal. From the way the mother and Alysa were acting he guessed the father did it.
But he had thought humans took care of their offspring.
He heard the father before he saw him. Heavy and very angry sounding footfalls followed by a slamming door.
Buu studied the human below him. His power level like the rest of the humans was laughable. However he was much stronger than Alysa. Buu could see how she would fear him…and fear him she did. Buu could actually smell her fear.
Not good. A raging animal like her father will attack something that fears it.
As her father ragged below Buu found himself starting to seriously dislike this human. He was way to loud. Not only that He didn't do anything. All his rage was show…he upturned the table, destroyed a chair.
This human was a waste of energy and space.
Alysa had a good reason to wish this man dead. It would do the human race good.
So caught up in his thoughts Buu didn't notice, until he heard her scream in anger.
Startled Buu looked up…err down.
Alysa had struck the man.
Buu felt his mouth drop. There was more to this tiny human than he thought. She had actually stood up to her father.
Maybe…just maybe, if she showed more spirit he should give her the choice to kill the man herself. She might actually do it. Her hate at this human was very apparent.
Buu could almost feel the years of repression just begging for a release.
When her father was concerned, Alysa was a time bomb.
Finally Alysa's father gathered what few wits he had and attacked. It wasn't much of an attack, just a punch to the face. But to someone like Alysa that was all that was needed. She fell like a ton of bricks.
True Buu could have stopped the punch and saved Alysa the pain. However he decided to wait. The pain would help fuel her hatred.
It was human nature to hate those who caused one pain. The adrenaline alone was probably enough to bring her over the edge. But also the blow would force her off balance. She was probably woozy from the hit.
All perfect things for his cause.
Buu moved with lightning speed as the human reared back to kick the downed girl. He never knew what hit him.
Buu easily subdued him and pressed the human against the wall.
Buu waited…and wasn't let down as Alysa exploded at her father. Screaming and yelling hate and spiteful words at him.
Well this was certainly unexpected. She had a lot of spirit under that timid shell.
Buu decided quickly.
If he was wrong she would freak out and he would be forced back a step. But if he was right…well then the fun started. True he wouldn't be quite where he wanted to be.
That being her enjoying to death of thousands at a time. Enjoying their pain as he enjoyed it. But if she enjoyed just one death…well that was a wonderful step forward.
A thought suddenly hit him with the force of a ton of bricks.
There was no way she would be at that level by tomorrow. What would he do with her when he left to fight the challenger? That was something he hadn't considered. Should he kill her, leave her…or maybe even take her with him. Buu doubted the challenger would be any good. Even the strongest one…Goku wouldn't be able to win now.
Buu frowned. He would have to think about this. But not right now.
Looking down Buu formed a small ki ball. He steadied the energy so that it would be safe for her to touch.
Buu: Take it. Kill him.
She looked up at him and Buu could read every emotion tearing though her mind.
She waited so long that Buu was sure that she wouldn't do it. But then unexpectedly he felt tiny hands remove the ki ball. He looked down surprised, but was careful to keep his expression completely neutral.
Alysa:…what…do I do with it?
Buu: Just throw it at him.
Alysa: Just throw it.
She tossed it. He could believe she actually did it.
Buu smiled insanely at the ki ball hit her father. The instant it touched him it exploded in a blast of blindly white light. Buu felt the man stiffen as the burning light touched him. For half a second all his muscles contracted in an agonizing jerk of pain. Then finally he got over the shock and screamed! He screams were high pitched and loud.
For a moment Buu was overwhelmed by the smell of burnt hair and polyester. Buu snorted in distaste. Not even he liked the smell of burnt hair.
Then the distinct smell of cooking and burning flesh penetrated.
Buu held on as flesh sizzled and turned brown…then black. It bubbled, as blisters were created and then destroyed just as quickly. The heat continued until his very skin peeled away and flaked off. Those black flakes now flew in the air like leaves in the wind. He twisted helplessly for a moment until even his muscles gave way to the extreme heat.
It must have taken less than 20 seconds before it was done.
Buu let go and took a step back.
Alysa's father fell to the ground a blackened and charred corpse. The red light of sparks glowed then died, as there was nothing left for them to ignite and cause a fire.
Buu smiled satisfied as he studied the body.
He looked like one of those earth mummies. The heat had literally melted away every trace of moisture in his body. What was left of his flesh was taunt, stretched and blackened.
His limbs were twisted in their death woes, and his face. Well his face was horrible to look upon. It was consorted in a silent scream. Pain was written in every feature of his burned face. His mouth hung wide open. Every tooth and even his jawbone were visible since his lips had been burned away. It looked like he was still trying to scream. He might still be screaming…Buu momentarily wondered if the pain of death followed the soul to the afterlife. He hoped so. That would make everything more fun, to know he had damaged even his victims souls.
Buu was taken out of his thought by the sound of crying.
He rolled his eyes. She was crying again…Kami!
Buu turned to address the problem but stopped in his tracks as he saw her face. The expression on it wasn't what he had expected. She was crying yes…but she didn't look sad but not hysterical…which what she usually was if she was crying.
Alysa smiled up at him her face still terribly sad.
Alysa: It's over Buu. I'm free…finally free.
Buu noticed how she refused to look at the corpse. He wondered what was going though her head. She was so strange…to many emotions for one body. That had to be confusing.
He shook in head in wonderment and went to search for the mother.
Buu left Alysa where she was lying on the floor.
Earlier he had taken care to see where the mother had run. Now he smiled as he stood in front of the door she had went in. He reached for the knob expecting it to be locked. Hell had after all broken loose in her living room. There was no way she had missed that.
So unlike the father she knew he was here.
He was slightly surprised when the knob twisted easily without a snag or lock.
The reason…she wasn't in the bathroom.
Buu shrugged to himself as he closed the door and walked further down the hallway. She must have retreated to a different room when he wasn't looking.
He opened the next door and went in. He looked around. This must be Alysa's room. Buu sniffed and confirmed the fact. The room was drenched in her scent.
He took careful note of the things in this room. Maybe it would give him a edge to understanding her better. She had several posters on the wall of music groups, as well as some drawings tacked to the wall. He leaned forward to look at the closest of the drawings. It was of a human with wings.
Buu was sure humans called these things something special but damn if he could remember what.
The girl in the picture was sad and beaten to the ground. Her wings broken and her cloths torn…yet…she still looked beautiful. Her body may have been beaten but her spirit still lived and was as strong as ever.
Surprisingly he liked it. Alysa was a good artist.
Without knowing why Buu removed the drawing form the wall. After carefully folding it he put in his pocket.
He looked around one final time for the missing human mother; he shook his head and left.
The next room must have been the parents…this room Buu noticed was the only one in the house that was totally trashed. He suspected Alysa wasn't allowed to go into this room…or she didn't want to.
Buu wrinkled his nose distastefully at the dirty dishes and half eaten food that had been allowed to mold and become sentient.
After a quick Ki scan (there was no way in hell he was going in there) he decided she wasn't here either.
So that left one final room. Buu smiled…he could almost feel the woman's blood on his hands.
Buu reached for the knob…suddenly a sharp bang echoed though the small apartment.
Buu froze…that sounded like a gunshot?
Slowly he opened the door and let it swing open. It was dark but that didn't hinder his vision. He could make out the human woman easily. His large body was backlighted against the light of the hallway.
Instantly a bullet flew though the air and though his body.
The woman's mouth hung open in surprise as the bullet simply passed through then the hole healed.
Mother: Get away from me you bastard!!
She shot two more rounds at him. Of course both were useless.
But for the moment Buu didn't bother with her. He was more interested in the smell of the room. It smelled of blood…fresh blood.
Buu glanced around the room. It was small…with hardly anything in it. Just some dressers and a tiny bed with that had rails on it…a crib.
Buu took a step forward. He looked into the crib.
His eye twitched as he took a step back.
He turned a stone hard face toward the woman. He was already planning a particular painful and long death for her.
She leveled her at him again as he took a step toward her.
He was reminded sharply of Alysa by the tears streaming down her face. Alysa looked like her mother.
Mother: I had to do it. I saw what you did to Lewie. He's safe now! Safe from monsters like you…I'll be safe to.
Buu blinked in surprise as she pressed the gun to the side of her head and pulled the trigger. The gun while small was powerful. The entire side of her head and face was blown away. Blood and tissue matter splatted forcefully against the wall. With a great sigh her body slumped to the floor with a muffled thump.
It happened so fast even he didn't have time to stop it.
Buu blinked.
Buu: Kami!
He didn't understand. That human had taken her own life. She had killed herself.
He didn't understand. Why would she do that?
He had thought humans liked life. All the others had begged for their lives. So why did she kill herself? It didn't make sense. It was wrong…against nature. All things that lived were suppose to fight for life. They weren't suppose to end it.
He turned back toward the crib.
Inside were the bloodied remains of a small child. A single hole in his forehead the cause of death.
Just to be sure he checked for breathing and pulse. If the child was still alive he could heal him. However death already had this young one. It was to late for him to do anything about it. Why did she do this? Humans were suppose to like their offspring…so why did this family beat one and then kill the other.
He would never understand humans.
Buu left the room. He was deep in thought as he shut the door quietly.
Alysa would be upset.
This could ruin everything. She had cared for the young one. It was for him that she killed her father.
With a focused blast of Ki Buu melted the door handle together. Nothing short of destroying the door and frame would allow someone to enter.
Buu didn't want Alysa to see that.
He walked out into the destroyed living room. Alysa was still where he had left her.
Her tears were dried but there was a strange light in her eyes that Buu found disturbing. He ki while strong felt strange to him. Buu shifted his weight and looked toward the door. He wanted to go now.
Alysa: Buu? What…what happened? I heard gunshots.
He looked down at Alysa. He didn't really want to tell her. But lying was something only the weak minded did. He didn't lie.
Buu: Your mother shot herself.
Alysa stood up her face a mask of disbelieve.
She swallowed hard, as her face went a shocking white.
Alysa: And my brother.
Buu: killed by his mother.
Alysa took a step back. Her mouth hung open but no words came out.
Her hazel eyes were bright from emotion.
Alysa: NOOO!!!!!!!
Buu startled at the shriek of denial. Never in his long life had he heard such emotion in a single cry. It sounded like she was dieing in a worse way than he could ever cook up. But she wasn't dieing, at least not physically.
Buu didn't understand. What was so special about a brother?
Alysa surprised him as she brushed by in a dead run. She went straight to the last bedroom.
Buu stood and waited.
She stood a moment in front of the door as if frightened to go in. She tried to open the door. She looked toward Buu in shock as she noticed the melted lock. She then tried to force it open. Her small body rallied against it throwing every ounce of strength she had to break down the door. The door rattled and banged but did not open.
Screams of rage and pain erupted from her throat as she tried to break down the door with her shoulder. It didn't work instead she felt a distinctive pop as the bone slipped out of its socket. She didn't care. She had to see her brother.
It wasn't true. He wasn't dead. He was alive.
Alysa: HE'S ALIVE I KNOW IT. PLEASE LET ME IN! BUU I HAVE TO SEE MY BROTHER!!! HE'S NOT DEAD!!!!!
Without a word Buu came up behind her and with deadly precision tapped the back of her neck. He caught her with one hand as she fell.
Damn humans why did they have to be so damn emotional over everything.
Not being very gentle about it Buu forced her shoulder back into its socket. She was sure going to hurt when she woke up. Which was fine with Buu, he was getting sick of her emotional outburst.
Buu looked down at her small face. She looked so sad.
He didn't pretend to understand, but he thought he might have a feeling about what she was going though. That brother or whatever she called him was special to her. From what Buu could understand that child had been everything. It was because of the child that she asked for her parents to die. So that the child would be safe and protected.
And now that child was gone.
Buu frowned as a memory tinkled the back of his mind.
Maybe…he understood better than he thought. The soft one whispered within.
Remember Bee…remember Hercule.
He remembered…he remembered the pain. The pain that had been so severe that it had awoke him within the soft one. The pain that made him want revenge with such a passion that he forced his way out. It had hurt worse than anything that could have been done physically to him.
Did Alysa feel that same pain?
Was that baby…Alysa's Hercule?
Buu eyes narrowed dangerously…this was getting too uncomfortable for his own liking. This girl was starting to get to him in ways he didn't like. He was starting to feel things…well more like remember the feelings of things…like friendship.
Until this moment he had all but forgotten about Hercule…and he sure as hell didn't remember what it had felt like to have a friend. To actually care about someone.
Buu didn't like this.
Still holding her one handed Buu brought his other hand to her face.
It started to glow white with gathered ki. Ki enough to kill her. Best to end this now. He had succeeded enough in his challenge to be satisfied.
She would feel no pain…she would simply die.
His lip curled in a snarl…the light formed into a small ki ball.
Alysa shifted in her sleep. Her tiny features consorting into that of pain. She looked so sad.
ANGEL
Buu didn't know why the word popped into his head at that moment. It just suddenly formed as he looked down at her.
Angel
He remembered the drawing he had taken from Alysa's room. That was what humans called the girl in that drawing.
Alysa reminded him of that picture. Maybe that was why he suddenly remembered the name. She looked like the angel in her drawing.
Beaten…tore from the sky and so sad…sad…yet she still had her pride. Still had something about her that warranted a second look.
The ki ball disappeared.
DAMN IT!!
He couldn't do it…not yet.
Buu closed his eyes and took a deep breath. This was all the soft ones fault.
Buu needed to think about this. Once he pushed he fat one down again then he would kill Alysa. It had been a mistake to do this, to get close to a human. Their emotions and ways were contagious.
He didn't play to make this mistake again.
With a growl of pure annoyance and hate Buu slung the unconscious girl over his shoulder and headed back to the house he had claimed as his own.
