Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Trench Coat ❯ An unexpected union. ( Chapter 3 )
I find myself staring up at the ceiling that morning. It's bright outside, and I can hear Kururin's snoring underneith me. It's unusual for Kururin to sleep in.
I am immediatly aware of the wet tears that are on my cheeks. I reach up a hand to wipe them off. They are cold, and I am suddenly hit with a painful feeling of loss, and heart break.
You know when you have the sense that you had a dream, but you can't remember what it was baout? That's what I have right now; and through the whole day, you're trying to remember what the dream was about.
I turn my head, and vaguely notice the soft feather beside my pillow. I stare at it, wondering why it was there, and then I remember. The dream.
" Vegeta....?"
I stare at it, baffled. It couldn't have been a dream....but....then..what was it?
I decide not to think about it at the moment.....
I leave the feather there and flop off the top bunk, and I almost fall on my back again like yesterday if I didn't turn and land on my hands and knees. I get up, my shoulders slumped, and go to the pile of folded clothes in the corner. I search through a bunch of shirts and pick out a particularly...indiscrete one.
It says, "MONKIES FLING POO AT HHH" (as in the wrestler, people >_^)
I carelessly pull on a particularly faded pair of jeans, not bothering to button them. I open the door that leads down to the single stair case and cast one last gloomy glance at my counter part Kururin, before heading down the stairs.
I walk into the bathroom and do all of that higenical stuff; brushing my teeth, washing my face, combing my hair.
Once I'm done and walk past the living room. It's not like Roshi to not be up by now. Maybe he's outside. And so, I go outside. I have to squint my eyes because the sun is shining so brightly on the water of the sea.
"Roshi!" I call out to him when I spot him. He is standing by a dirty, old looking Capsule jet. He turns around and waves me over.
Sighing in annoyance, I run over. But as I approach I realize the what he is doing over there. The jet has a giant hole in the back where an explosion must have taken place. It is still hot and smoking.
"Roshi..?" I ask, peering over the old man's shoulder. Inside there is an unconcious young girl. She's got curly, dark purple hair. Her eyes are delicately shut like she is sleeping.
" Lunch!" I exclaime. I haven't seen her in atleast 3 years! She went off to live in some desert city, and never came back to us.
"Is....she dead...?" I asked, horrified to hear the answer.
Much to my relief, Master Roshi shakes his head. " She is only unconcious. She might wake up in a while, though. I just woke up and saw her plane crash on the island."
I let out a sigh of relief, and then procede to help my master carry the woman out of the charred plane and into the safety of the bright pink turtle hut.
~~~
All that day, I couldn't help but feel worried. But I couldn't worry about Lunch. Today I had to pack and move!
I didn't have too many possesions; My clothes, all stuffed in a suit case, a few personal items, this and that. My sketch books, 5 of them, and my favorite pencils which were all 6h.
One last thing that I throw into my bag; it is a small box filled with different capsules. Bulma gave it to me as a moving in present. I guess it's full of furniture and appliances, just to get me started so I don't have to buy everything from scratch.
I'm tired from packing. Dunno why I'm sleepy.
I decide that a short nap would be good before I leave. I sigh, exhausted, and lay down in Kururin's empty bunk, not bothering to pull the covers up. And I listen to the silent hum of the fan in the hot summer day.
I finally wake up, kind of dazed. I can tell it's later out, but the sun is still up. I decide it's time that I should be going.
I run downstairs holding my suit case. When I get downstairs, to my great surprise, Lunch and Master Roshi are sitting on the couch talking with eachother.
" Lunch!" I exclaime, dropping my suit case.
" Oh, Goku! Come here, we've got to tell you something!" She calls back to me, turning her head and gesturing me to sit down beside her.
Smiling, I sit beside her, squished between my master and Lunch. I love Lunch, in a motherly way. She's a great cook, ( Besides that time she poisoned us with puffer fish) and she's so nice and cheery.
" Are you ok, Lunch?" I ask her.
" I'm fine! But what happened was I guess I sneezed while I was flying my plane, and I must have stolen something because before I knew it some police jets were chasing me and shot me down, and I must have landed here! I think they're still after me, too."
"Oh..." I said. That sounds like a likely story, since Lunch is always sneezing and whenever she does, she turns into a very fiesty, blonde girl who steals anything valuable in sight, and won't hesitate to shoot you.
" We have something more important to tell you, though, Goku." Roshi tells me. I raise an eyebrow at him.
" 'More important'? I repeat.
I can't understand what it is that could be so important.
" Lunch and I..."
" Are getting married!"
~~~~~~
"WHAT???" I exclaim. I can't believe my ears! Roshi and Lunch...getting..married!??
I just realize that my jaw is dropped and I'm being really rude. I compose myself, but I still can't get over the shock.
" I know this is really sudden, Goku, but you must understand. We're going to have the wedding here on turtle island." Lunch says comfortingly.
" Don't worry, though, Goku. This won't effect your moving away at all. We just ask that you come back here for the wedding in a few weeks. Sound good?" Roshi asks.
" Sounds great! I'm really happy for you two." I say to them. I hug both of them briefly. I get up and go to pick up my suitcase.
" I was just leaving. I'll call you two right when I get my apartment ready, ok?"
" Ok." Both of them say. They get up from the couch and follow me outside, and I can see that they're holding hands just like real married people do.
I run out to the shore, and cup my hand to my mouth as I have so many times before, and yell, " Nimbus!!!"
I wait a moment and in time the little cloud is zooming over to my feet. I jump aboard, and immediately it bullets off again. I turn around and wave goodbye to them. They wave back.
" Tell Kururin I said goodbye!!!" I yell back to them.
Mom and dad.
