Chapter Five

Upon entering the second level, Vegeta knew that the girls would be under a lot of stress and would have a lot of difficulties. This level was insane with all of the idiosyncratic devils running around carrying pitchforks too long for their squat bodies. Seeing his teammates shaking their heads in disgust, he decided that he would try his damned best to keep them both alive. They were a lot like him and he couldn't help but admire their persistence to keep up with him while he plowed through the first phase of the level.

Stepping through the gateway for the second level, Kathi signaled for the other two girls to follow her in then slowly made her way forward. She didn't want to draw any attention to herself and sighed in exasperation when a horde of minute devils ran up, waving their pitchforks agitatedly. "Great, we got stuck in the land of munchkins."

Laughing quietly, Bulma moved up behind her short friend then kicked one of the devils away when it got too close for her comfort. "Well…at least they aren't dangerous."

Becky, on the other hand, wasn't watching the devils and was turning paler by the moment as she watched a gigantic satyr run up, his eyes wild with lust and excitement. Batting weakly at the other two girls, she finally got their attention then pointed to the satyr. "What the hell is that thing?"

Taking one look at the creature, Kathi's eyes widened in horror even as she yelped in pain when one of the tiny devils stabbed her with its pitchfork. "Oh my God."

Bulma, having grabbed one of the pitchforks, tested the weight in her hand then ran forward and launched the weapon at the satyr, spearing it in its crotch and causing it to fall to the ground, screaming in pain. Seeing the other two girls stare at her in surprise, she shrugged. "I was an expert with javelins in high school."

"Oh." Kathi, deciding she didn't want to be around when the satyr regained its composure, hurried onwards while the other two followed close behind. She really didn't want to be a rape victim of an oversexed monster.

Canta had decided to ditch his other teammates and check back on the girls, who he had sensed entering and wondered about with an immense curiosity. Floating about a foot off of the ground, he looked around the first section of the level then sighed and shot towards the doorway his team hadn't taken. Maybe the girls weren't completely helpless as he thought, especially since they had managed to wound one of the creatures.

"I want candy…I want candy. I don't care what the people say…I don't care what you think. I want candy…I want candy."

"Becky, would you please shut up so I can concentrate here?" Glaring at her friend who had distracted her from the flashing in the room ahead of them, Kathi sighed then turned back. "I can see three creatures in the room…they seem to be sitting but…I don't know about this guys. Maybe we took a wrong turn this time."

"What's so bad about those creatures?" Finishing putting her hair in a neat ponytail, Bulma searched through her bag for her makeup while waiting for the shorter girl to answer.

"Well…they look like the satyrs but they don't have huge…sexual appetites…and it looks like they've got wings sprouting from their backs."

"Ok…do you think the light confuses them?"

"I really doubt it…let me find out." Grinning evilly, she grabbed the blue-haired girl's bag then threw it into the room and watched, in horror, as the three creatures spun around and headed towards the bag at unbelievable speeds. Waiting for the room to light up again, she stared, briefly, at the decimated bag then swallowed nervously. "Umm…did you have anything really important in that bag?"

"No…I keep all of my important stuff in my pockets."

"Thank God…wait…do you have anything that can act as a distraction?"

"Well…my dad did give me some mannequins to work on my clothing with…they move and stuff, will those work?"

"Perfect, now comes the fun part where we run screaming through a dark room."

"Ooh sounds like fun, who's first?" Becky grinned cheerfully, her blue eyes flashing dangerously.

Warily backing away from her friend, she held out her hand and gestured that she could go first. "Don't mind us, we'll just wait until you make it across and tell us that it's all clear."

"Cool, I'm up for that." Taking the small capsule that Bulma offered her, she grinned again then threw it into one corner of the room, causing all three monsters to shoot towards the sound.

The remaining two girls watched as she raced across the room then collapsed on the ground on the opposite side before waving to them in between changes of the light. Looking at each other, they shrugged then got ready to take their turn across.

Watching the remaining girls race through the darkened room, he sighed then followed them at a leisurely pace, knocking the monsters off to one side when they tried to attack them. Seeing the blue-haired girl stop right outside the doorway to catch her breath, he grinned evilly then rushed forward and grabbed her shoulder. He was nowhere near prepared for the scream she let out before whacking him in the head with her fists. "Women are evil."
