The raven haired saiyan took a deep breath, surveying the scene around her. She caught a glimpse of Krillin giving Piccolo a senzu bean and wondered if the mechanical begins spared him. That thought was flushed right from her mind. Her legs forced her body up and took her to Trunks, who was knocked out about 12 feet from her. Her gloved hands gripped his tank top shirt.
“Come on, T-kun,” she muttered, “wake up already…..please?” Her lungs let out the air she didn’t know she held as his body stirred.
Trunks’ dull azure eyes opened, lids fluttering as his vision focused. He gasped slightly, a vise-like grip suddenly coming around his neck nearly the second he sat up.
“You’re ok?!” Matti whispered, desperate for the knowledge, face buried in his
jacket-clad shoulder.
The hybrid nodded, blushing in realization that the others were also coming to. In his mind, he was glad to be given this wake up call. “Yeah, I…just can’t….breeeaaattthhhe…”
Matti blushed lightly, letting go and moving away.
Trunks wrapped a hand around the handle of his sword, the weapon laying faithfully behind him since he fell. The tips of his fingers gingerly ran over the deep gash in the steel.
“I think I can repair it,” his friend told him, “I brought my tools with me, but I don’t know where there are any good materials here.”
He shrugged, sheathing the fearsome blade back in the orange case that was strapped to his back. “You sure you’re alright? He didn’t get you, did he?” He grabbed her hand and looked right into her eyes hard, making sure she was telling the truth.
Matti shook her head. “No. I think I was more freaked than anything at the moment….”
“I shouldn’t have been knocked out.” The saiyan stated firmly, getting up.
Matti said nothing and watched him go. She knew he was angry with himself, and telling him that he shouldn’t be would not help. Her lungs heaved a sigh once more before getting up and joining him.
“Why do you think they let us go alive?” Tien asked, “They were so close in killing all of us.”
“Probably because we weren’t such a thrill for them,” Matti figured, “They do that to us all the time, treating us like toys.”
“It’s a wonder you’re still living.” Krillin commented.
She just shrugged, folding her arms. #17 would never kill her, but could have humiliated her while she was unconscious. She was lucky all he did was grab her shirt and ‘hint’ what he wanted. Her teeth gnawed her lip till her tongue tasted blood, the red liquid dripping down her chin. Her gloved hand quickly shot up to catch it in time. She glanced up, glad nobody noticed. Especially Trunks.

“Mazzy,” Trunks called to the girl behind him, “did you figure out what’s been going on?” He, Krillin, and Matti were flying toward Goku’s house to evacuate him to Master Roshi’s island before the androids can get to him. Tien already left to forewarn the turtle hermit and Chaozu.
Matti shook her head, speeding up beside him. “Would you like me to draw out a timeline for you, or just tell you today‘s events flat out?”
“What the hell is your deal? Guess you didn’t thank PMS like it did…”
“SHUT UP!” She glared in Krillin’s direction when she caught him laughing under his breath. The man flinched soon after, feeling her effects right away.
The lavender haired saiyan literally squealed when she grabbed him and tackled him in the air. He knew a big bruise would be in the center of his chest. “ANYWAY! I was referring to why the androids were much stronger then what we know, and why we first met Dr. Gero and the other android. Nothing is making sense. I figured you’d find something. You’re usually good with that.”
“Well excuse me if PMS is making me not notice these things!! Thanks for the complement anyway.”
Trunks just shook his head, chuckling.

“Now what?” Matti asked, taking a seat beside Trunks in Yamcha’s capsule ship.
“We’ll wait for Gohan to bring Bulma home,” Yamcha said, “Chances are, he’d come back here.”
