Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Uncertain Future ❯ 'Geta's Mistake ( Chapter 11 )
Disclaimer: I don't own DBZ, though I wish I did… I'm not making any money off of this story so please don't sue me.
Author's note, Please Read: There were some complaints about my last chapter in regards to the ending paragraph. I would just like to say that if you are not mature enough to handle adult situations then perhaps you should look at the ratings and monitor what you read. I do not regret writing what I did and I hope you know that nothing you can say will cause me to do so. I take pride in my writing and I am glad I have enough self confidence to write stories containing this sort of subject matter. I feel that the last paragraph was an important part of the story and that it carried the mood of the chapter appropriately. If you have a problem accepting situations like this then you are obviously not mature enough to handle this sort of subject matter, or you may simply prefer to stay away from stories with high ratings because of personal preference. While this is perfectly acceptable, I ask that you not to flame me about it because there was an appropriate rating on the chapter and it is no fault of mine if you as a reader choose to ignore the warnings. Now, please don't get me wrong, I had some reviews that simply said that the story was good, but the ending was gross, and I don't mind that. That's fine. I have decided to write this note because I ended up getting a few really nasty flames and e-mails that I felt were completely inappropriate. I'd just like to say thanks to all the people who did send me nice reviews *you know who you are!* because I really appreciate your support and your ideas. Thanks for your time, and if anyone has a problem or a question, feel free to e-mail me at cat_girl_26@hotmail.com. However, please do not mail me and ask me to change the story, because you will only be wasting your time.
Special Thanks to Vegetababe for Beta-ing!
Uncertain Future, Chapter 11: 'Geta's Mistake
It had been two weeks since the night of the ball, and life for Bulma had been rather uneventful. Basically, she had learned how to be a maid for a grumpy, irritable, loudmouthed, but ever so gorgeous King. It's not as if she were miss perfect, but hey, she figured he could at least cut her a little slack. When he wasn't ignoring her, he was either insulting her or ordering her around. It was not as if she merely sat back and took it though. At first she had been too frightened to say anything, but after a few days, Bulma's quick tongue and infinite supply of courage had taken over. More often than not, the two could be heard arguing by guards and passers by.
Sometimes Bulma wondered why King Vegeta didn't just kill her and get it over with. She had seen servants die for simply sneezing without permission, yet she yelled and screamed at the King, calling him every possible insult her mind could think of. It wasn't as if he was unarmed in their battle of wits though. His quick witty responses never failed to infuriate her. Even the blunt, mocking names he called her served only to get under her skin, and they did their job well. His favorite 'pet' name, and her least favorite one, was 'woman,' but sometimes, when he wasn't feeling especially mean, 'little human' or 'little one' would suffice. The last two were very rarely heard from his mouth, but when they escaped, they were sent with a mocking, sickly sweet tone.
The two did everything possible to annoy each other. Life together for them was a constant battle, not of master versus servant, or even man versus woman, simply of 'how can I spite her?' versus 'how can I piss him off?' Vegeta's favorite habit was to order Bulma about, referring to her simply as 'woman.' Even when there were other female slaves present, she was always Woman, and the others were called by their names. In a very short time, poor Bulma had become a laughing stock among the slaves, and everywhere she went, she heard calls and laughs of "Woman! Over here!" or "Hey look! It's what's her name, Woman!" from the other slaves, and even some of the Saiyan warriors.
Vegeta had not gone unpunished for this though. Every chance she got, especially when he had important company over, Bulma would refer to her almighty King as "Geta-chan." This made Vegeta especially angry, for more than one reason. First of all, she did not show him proper respect in using the name while in the presence of others. Secondly, one should not refer to him using such a familiar manner of speech. Thirdly, she was not in Japan anymore, and therefore, not to use the Japanese term 'chan'. King Vegeta managed to turn these 3 simple points into a 20-60 minute lecture, depending on his mood, which Bulma usually ended up hearing about ten times a day. She ignored him for the most part and kept using her pet name, seeing as he had yet to reprimand her in any serious way.
Bulma had been busy, keeping Vegeta's enormous apartments clean. Not that he was a pig or anything. He was actually one of the tidiest people she had ever met. While he rarely cleaned up after himself, he generally tried to avoid becoming unclean. The biggest problem was just the sheer size of the home, and the fact that nearly everything in it was priceless. It took a long time to simply dust a bookshelf, but maybe that was because she kept taking breaks to read all the interesting books. She had acquired a vast amount of knowledge about the Saiyan race in a mere few days, probably more than most Saiyan children learned in all their years of school.
Bulma was currently in the process of researching everything she could about the 'Super Saiyan.' She was constantly hearing little bits and pieces about the legend but she knew barely anything about it. She only knew that becoming a Super Saiyan involved some sort of transformation, and that King Vegeta had achieved this goal two years ago, on the exact date of the 'Chikyuu Massacre' as it was called by most of the population of Vegetasei. To Bulma, it was simply 'the day those bastard purple aliens attacked my home planet and enslaved me.'
She still had no idea what had happened to anyone that she used to know, except for the Z-senshi of course. She had witnessed their deaths first hand. She had been separated from her parents at the time of the invasion and had never found out whether they escaped or not. Surely more slaves must have been taken as well. There must have been more than one transport ship and more than one dungeon. There might even be the possibility that some humans had escaped the onslaught. Maybe there were other humans after all…maybe.
Bulma jumped up as she heard a loud slam from the front hall. 'Oh Shit! That's Vegeta!' she thought to herself, frantically trying to tidy up the books she had been reading. 'Oh, he's gonna be really mad! I forgot to make his dinner!'
"What the HELL do you think you're doing!?!?!?" yelled a very angry looking Vegeta. "I've been working hard all day and all you can do is sit here on your lazy ass? Where the bloody hell's my FOOD!?!?"
"I…I'm sorry…. I was reading and I lost track of time. I'm sorry!" Bulma shivered with fright. She had never seen him this angry, and he had never yelled at her like this. He was positively livid. His face was red and she could see a large vein pulsing beneath the skin of his forehead. His fists were clenched tightly at his sides and he was shaking visibly, trying desperately to control his temper. He must have had a really bad day.
"This is what you give me? I saved you from a perverted bastard and gave you the most honorable positions a servant can have! I give you far more lenience than even the highest ranking soldiers and yet you continue to disobey me! All I expect from you is a clean house, a little respect and a LOUSY MEAL ON THE TABLE WHEN I GET HOME! Constantly you insult me, your King, thinking that this is some sort of children's game! Well this is not a game Woman, and one of these days you will go too far!" he yelled.
"I'm sorry 'Geta." she murmured, accidentally using her pet name for him in her state of frightened confusion. "I meant no disrespect." The use of her nickname sent Vegeta over the edge. His rage came to a boiling point and he growled out loud in frustration and anger.
"Will you never learn to show your King some respect?!?!" He screamed. Bulma's eyes widened, realizing her folly. She opened her mouth apologize but all that came out was a cry of pain as the back of Vegeta's hand connected with her cheek, the force of the blow sending her backwards into the wall.
MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Talk about an evil cliffhanger huh? Okay, so it's not that evil… so sue me. No wait! Don't sue me, really, I was only kidding! Well, I'll tell you what you can do. You can review this story or send me an email and tell me how much you loved it! If you want….
