Uncertain Future, Chapter 13: Mystery of the Capsule

Bulma awoke late the next morning with a pain on her cheek and in between her legs. "Huh? This isn't my room…Omigosh!" she cried as she remembered what had happened last night. A heavy blush stained her cheeks as she felt a strong arm around her waist, pulling her back down onto the bed.

"Morning." Vegeta grumbled, pulling her close to him. Bulma wiggled around in his grasp until she was face to face with her King/lover.

"Morning." Bulma murmured. Vegeta chuckled, pulling her closer for a kiss, which she gladly returned. "What time is it?"

"I dunno." Vegeta's tail slithered around under the sheets until it came into contact with Bulma's leg. It coiled around her thigh and proceeded to tickle her gently, moving up gradually. "I don't really care all that much either." He murmured in a low, throaty voice, his hand moving around to trace patterns on her back. Bulma smiled and stretched lazily.

"We should probably get up Vegeta. Neither of us ate last night."

"Oh, but I did." Vegeta purred. Bulma blushed again and squirmed in her King's grasp as she remembered the wonderful sensations he had created with his tongue. Upon seeing the female blush, he chuckled lightly. "Do you remember now, little one?" He asked, moving his head downward to kiss and lick at her neck.

"Mmmm. Yes, I do mmm." she moaned. "Vegeta…" she whimpered. "I'm still sore. Don't do this to me please!" Vegeta smirked.

"Fine, have it your way woman. I am a little hungry though." He murmured suggestively.

"Good! Then I'll go make us some breakfast." she squeaked, hopping out of the large bed. She dressed quickly, embarrassed at Vegeta's careful scrutiny. "Do you mind!" she cried out.

"Not at all." Vegeta replied, settling back onto the pillows for a better view, never taking those wonderful obsidian eyes off of her body.

After breakfast, Bulma started her daily chores. First she washed all of Vegeta's bedding, and then viciously scrubbed the kitchen floor, all the while Vegeta was sitting on the couch watching the Saiyan equivalent of a television. Bulma didn't mind though, she didn't expect him to do any housework. She knew it was her job and she accepted that. She was also still unsure of what how to act around him after they had…had… after last night. She got heated up just thinking about it, and she didn't even want to think about what she would do with a visual aid.

After the main portion of the house was clean, Bulma started on her own little room. First, she vacuumed the floor, then she started cleaning the furniture. Just as she was dusting the top of a tall shelf, Vegeta walked in, startling her. She started to lose her balance and soon found herself falling off of her tiny ladder perch, only to land in Vegeta's arms. "S…sorry. I…you startled me…" she murmured in apology. He only smirked at her and set her down on her feet, not before moving in for a kiss though. He then turned around, after hearing a small 'click' sound.

"What's this?" He asked, bending down to pick up a small object that had fallen off of the shelf. It was white in color and shaped like a little rounded cylinder with a tiny little button at the top. It was no bigger than his thumb in size.

"What the…?" Bulma murmured, amazed and puzzled at the same time. "A capsule? How did it get here? Give it here." Vegeta handed her the capsule, a look of interest on his face.

"What is it?" he asked.

"It's a capsule." she said turning the little object over in her hands. "A storage capsule." Vegeta didn't say anything, he only looked confused. "On Chikyuu, my father ran a company called Capsule Corporation. We manufactured these little devices called capsules. There are all different kinds, some contain cars, planes, even refrigerators and other household appliances. Others come with nothing in them and you can put in whatever you want. They're called storage capsules and that's what this is. I wonder what's inside!"

"Can't you open it?" Vegeta asked. Bulma nodded, and pushed the button on the top of the capsule she tossed it away from her, into the middle of the room. There was a puff of smoke and then a little metal box appeared in the middle of Bulma's floor. She knelt down and picked it up, then set it to rest on her vanity table, a large smile on her face.

"I remember packing this capsule during the invasion! I thought I'd lost it!" she cried excitedly, opening the box to reveal loads of personal items. There were snapshots of her friends and family, notes from her old schoolmates, letters from her pen-pal in Canada, movie stubs, the menu from the restaurant Yamucha had taken her to on their very first real date, and various other things of great sentimental value.

Vegeta picked up one of the pictures and looked at it. It was a group photo of the woman and her friends. 'Hmmm, old man, turtle, bald midget with no nose, three eyed freak, china doll, freaky little cat thing, normal looking guy, WHAT THE HELL?" his mind raged. 'What in the universe is Bardock doing in this picture…waitaminute. That's not Bardock. No Saiyan has ever been to Chikyuu except…Kakarott.'

"You knew Kakarott?" Vegeta asked casually.

"Who's Kakarott." Bulma asked, confused.

Vegeta held up the picture. "THIS is Kakarott. He was sent to Chikyuu as a baby."

Bulma nodded. "Oh yeah. Those awful Yranians kept saying something about 'Why is there a Saiyan here?' and stuff like that to Goku. I never realized what they were talking about until I came here." she said quietly, her tone of voice sounding sad.

"Who's Goku?" Vegeta wondered.

"Oops. That's what we called him. You see, this old man found him when he was a baby and named him Goku. He raised him as a human. I met him the summer before the attack and we became really good friends." Bulma explained hastily. Vegeta nodded and put the picture down.

"I have a meeting with my advisory committee tonight. It starts at 7:00 and I should be back around 10:00. I'll expect you to prepare dinner for me before I go." He informed her.

"Okay 'Geta." she smiled. "If you don't mind though, since I'm done all my chores, I'm going to keep looking through this stuff."

"That's fine, just don't lose track of time. I have to go train now though." he said heading out the door. "Oh by the way, I called a medic while you were in the shower. He'll be here around 4:00." Bulma nodded and smiled. She could see the regret deep in his eyes, though she knew he would probably never tell her he was sorry for hurting her.

"I'll have dinner on the table by 6:00." She called after him as he walked out he door. Vegeta hurried down the hall, the idea of capsule technology still fresh in his mind.

As Vegeta had said, a medic arrived around 4:00 to take a look at Bulma's cheek. He examined her briefly, and gave her some cream to put on the bruise after he had assured her that nothing was broken. He said the cream would help to keep the swelling down and allow the bruise to heal faster. The doctor then bid her goodbye and left Bulma alone with her thoughts.

OKAYYYYY!!!!! How'd you like it? Good, bad? Make sure you review and tell me! I should have the next chapter out sometime this week because I get off for Christmas holidays on Wednesday! YAY!!! Depending on how busy I am, the whole story might get done before holidays are over.
