Uncertain Future, Chapter 15: Mourning the Past, with Hope for the Future
"Ahhhhh!" Bulma yawned and stretched as she woke up. "Huh?" she murmured, as her leg brushed against something soft and warm. She turned around to see none other than King Vegeta, snoozing lightly beside her. 'How did I get here?' she wondered. The last thing she remembered was falling into her bed after a long night going through all the old keepsakes she found in the capsule. "Wait a minute." she said aloud, remembering how Vegeta had picked her up and carried her here.
"Wait a minute what?" Vegeta mumbled, cracking open one obsidian eye to look at her.
"Why'd you bring me here last night?" Bulma asked, poking him in the chest with her pointer finger. Vegeta looked thoughtful for a moment, and then spoke.
"I had a very stressful meeting," he lied, "and I find that sometimes the warmth of a female body next to one's own body helps one to relax." Bulma shrugged and snuggled back down into the covers beside her King. "What time is it?"
"I dunno, around 7-ish."
"Good, we still have two hours." Vegeta murmured.
"Till what?" Bulma asked, blushing as she felt Saiyan hands exploring her body.
"You'll see." Vegeta said softly, as he moved to kiss her. He lay on his side, his torso raised up by one arm, the other hand working at the drawstring to her pajama pants.
"Vegeta!" she cried. "It's 7 o'clock in the morning!" She tried unsuccessfully to squirm out of his grasp. He snorted softly.
"7'oclock in the morning is as good a time as any." he purred, his hand snaking down into her now untied pants. "Besides, you were too sleepy last night." His fingers gently rubbed her, drawing forth a slick, warm liquid. Bulma moaned and arched her back, thrusting her hips at the same time, trying to encourage him to do more. "So, you seem to agree with me now eh?" He murmured, gently inserting two fingers into her wet entrance.
"Mmm! Vegeta! Quit teasing!" she cried out, grabbing his hand and holding it against her. "Please!" Vegeta chuckled, his fingers finding an exceptionally pleasurable spot and pressing it. Bulma moaned aloud, her hips thrusting instinctively as she released.
Vegeta moved atop of her to position himself, never breaking eye contact with the little female. Gently, he slid into her and began to thrust in and out. Bulma had wrapped every available limb around his body in a frantic attempt to hold on. Her body jolted with wonderful sensations every time he thrust into her.
The Saiyan King could not keep his eyes off of the woman beneath him. Every little sound she made, every little facial expression, everything about her fascinated him. If only she were Saiyan! Then he could claim her as his own and make her his Queen. The little thing would make a wonderful Queen…
Vegeta's thoughts were interrupted as a sudden wave of pleasure washed over him and her released himself deep within her as she did the same. He recovered from the massive climax before she did and, panting, he leaned down to claim her lips with his own as he rolled to the side and wrapped her in his arms.
"It's almost 8. We should probably get up." Vegeta murmured regretfully. He would like nothing more than to be able to spend the entire day in bed with this little female of his. Sighing, he pulled himself out of bed and picked up Bulma. He then carried her to the washroom where he proceeded to bathe them both.
About a half-hour later, Bulma was standing in the kitchen making breakfast while Vegeta was sitting at the table. "Here you go." Bulma beamed as she set down a huge platter of Craula bird eggs and some fried meat that smelled quite a lot like bacon. "Here you go 'Geta. Enjoy!" she smiled cheerfully, sitting down across from him with her own plate. The two wolfed down their meals, hungry from this morning's 'activities' and Bulma got up to clear the table. As she began washing the dishes, there was a knock at the front door. Bulma moved to answer it but stopped as Vegeta shook his head, motioning for her to go back to what she was doing.
"You're right on time Bardock." He said, opening the door. Without looking to see who it was, Bulma turned back to the dishes, viciously attacking the greasy pans. Washing dishes was her least favorite chore.
"I'm sorry I was not in attendance at yesterday's meeting Sire. I was mourning for my deceased mate." Bardock stated, a hint of sadness creeping into his voice. It had been two years since Jaka's death and it still hurt to think of her.
"There is no need to worry Bardock, I was informed of this." Vegeta said, then softened his voice to a more sympathetic tone. "You have my deepest condolences."
"Thank you, my King." Bardock replied with a little bow of his head.
Bulma, having heard the little conversation, became very interested. 'There is something familiar about his voice, like I've heard it before.' she thought to herself. 'Well, this is really puzzling me. I need to find out who that is! Maybe if I just walk past or ask Vegeta if they want some refreshments or something…' She stepped out into the hallway, her head bowed respectfully. "I was wondering if you and your guest might care for some refreshments my King, or should I begin my usual duties for the day?" She asked, head still bowed.
"No, we will not be requiring anything right now, you may begin your duties." Vegeta responded with a smirk. The little female was always so respectful when he had company over.
"All right." Bulma looked up and smiled at Vegeta, but her smile turned into a look of surprise when she saw who else was standing in the doorway. "Holy shit!" she gasped, backing up into a wall.
Bulma looked stunned, Bardock looked appalled, and Vegeta looked amused. "Bardock," he said with a smirk, "I'd like you to meet my housmate, Bulma. She knew your son." Vegeta said casually, moving to sit down on one of the comfy living room couches.
"My…My son?" Bardock sounded confused, and then realization dawned upon him. "You are from Chikyuu! Oh yes, now I remember. You knew Kakarott?" Bulma nodded, still unsure of how to act.
"Quit babbling Bardock, and come sit down. You too." Vegeta said, motioning to Bulma. The two moved towards the couches, Bardock choosing a comfy armchair to sit in and Bulma choosing the love seat. "Now Bulma, this is Kakarott's father. His name is Bardock and he is the head of the Vegetasei Science Wing." Bulma's eyes lit up at both the idea of Goku, and science. "Bardock, this is Bulma. She is from Chikyuu where your son was sent." Bardock nodded. "They became 'friends' and knew each other very well."
Upon hearing this, Bardock sent a barrage of questions at poor Bulma. "What did he look like? Was he strong? How strong? Did he talk about being a Saiyan? Was he…" and so on.
"I…I have a picture if you wanted to take a look." Bulma murmured meekly. She went to her room and grabbed the box of mementos off of her bed. Sitting back down on the couch, she opened it and began rooting through its contents, finally pulling out an envelope full of pictures, which she handed to Bardock. As he looked through them, she briefly explained how he hit his head and nobody knew he was a Saiyan until the Yranians came. Bardock nodded, listening to the story, suddenly growing sad as he heard of his son's death.
"Who's this woman?" he asked, a look of puzzlement on his face. "Bulma took a look at the picture and smiled. It was a picture of Goku and Chi-chi holding hands. 'They look so young and innocent.' she thought sadly to herself.
"That's Chi-chi. She was Goku…I mean Kakarott's girlfriend." Bulma replied.
"Girl…friend?" Bardock sounded confused. Bulma blushed remembering that the Saiyan's did not have girlfriends or boyfriends, only mates.
"She was…She was like a mate I suppose, but not quite. If they hadn't died in the attack they would have become mates." Bardock nodded, his eyes darkening a little.
"So my son was going to choose a human for a mate?" He said, sounding disappointed.
"Well, I uh…Chi-chi was a fighter! She was a strong human! She even fought against the Yranians!" Bulma cried out, completely forgetting to be polite and reserved. For some reason she could not stand to have Bardock be disappointed with his son. Vegeta snickered at Bulma's little outburst, and she reddened. "I…I'm so terribly sorry." she mumbled, not knowing what to do.
Vegeta shrugged. "It's not as if it matters anyhow. You're going to be seeing a lot of Bardock so he will have to get used to your…exuberant…personality." Vegeta smirked, the tip of his tail flicking idly back and forth.
"What? What do you mean I'll be seeing a lot of Bardock?" Bulma asked, fearing that Vegeta had grown tired of her and was sending her to be Bardock's housemate.
Vegeta chuckled at her childlike antics, and explained what he had in mind. "You see, I've been thinking about your 'capsules,'" he explained, "and I have decided that it would be a good idea to manufacture and use them here on Vegetasei. You, Woman, would be in charge of production and the like, but it would be in Vegetasei's best interest if you were to have Saiyan supervision. Bardock is the natural choice, seeing as he is head of our science department."
Bulma nodded, she liked the idea of being able to work on capsules, as her inventive mind needed more than cleaning to satisfy it's hunger for knowledge, but what about her duties as housemate? Would she simply be sent to live somewhere else? If she was a full time scientist then she surely wouldn't have time for her duties as housemate. She knew the King was fond of her, but definitely not enough to let her hang around and live in his private quarters if she wasn't doing any work. Poor Bulma didn't know if she would be able to handle being away from him now that she had just come to terms with her feelings for the man. "What about my housemate duties?" she asked, trying not to reveal her inner turmoil to the Saiyan King.
Vegeta smirked, seeing her reluctance to leave him. "You would continue to work as a housmate. There is a minimum time requirement before you will be allowed to leave this position, but that doesn't mean you can't work in your spare time. You have proven yourself to be trustworthy and loyal to me over the short time you have been here so I am willing to let you do this if you would like. This does mean, however, that you will have little to no spare time, and I will not tolerate any slacking off on your housemate duties. Do you understand?" Bulma nodded happily, barely able to contain her excitement. "Bardock?"
"Yes Sire. I understand perfectly."
"Good. You are dismissed." Vegeta said, with a wave of his hand.
Bardock stood and bowed to his King, and then left. As he was walking down the large corridor though, he could not contain a large grin that was slowly spreading over his features. He could tell that the King cared for the little human, and it lifted his spirits a little to know that there was hope. "Almost 24 years ago, my King," he whispered to himself, "I did something that I think is terribly wrong, and it still pains me today Sire. But seeing you show even the tiniest bit of affection to that female makes me believe that there is hope for you after all. Yes Vegeta, there is hope for you after all."
Well, that's it for now! Hope you all liked it! Remember to review, but please no flames cause I thought I actually did a kinda good job on this one! Bye for now!
