Seven: The Fall of a prince

Rai-en's attention was shifted from the game and to the window, there was nothing to see but she had a sinking feeling in her gut...as though something was terribly wrong. She sensed danger nearby for some reason but she figured if something was really wrong they would all know right? It wouldn't just be her sitting here with the sense she should be at her father's side right then. Looking at the others, and then at Bulma and ChiChi, they were all too busy to notice her. Standing up, she walked to the door and paused...the feeling growing stronger as she picked up an unfamilar ki signature somewhere near her father's.
Without a further thought she made her mind to go seek out her father and make sure he was alright. She casually slipped out the door, assuming she went unnoticed, but Bulma had seen her out of the corner of her eye. She didn't question her actions, she could tell she was worried about something...after living with Vegeta long enough she came to know when something was wrong. She resumed her conversation but in her mind she was praying she be careful.

The teened saiyan took off in a burst of energy, tracking her father's ki to where he was located. She was more worried then before now, more than sure something wasn't right. He was in the midst of a battle, that she felt with no problem, but trying to sense with who was hard. The ki was unfamilar, on both who or what it belonged too and it wasnt anything she knew before. Yet that wasn't the problem...it was somethin new, heading towards him.
With this new piece of information she picked up speed and made haste to where he would be.

&nb sp; He held the blast threateningly for Reiko to gaze at it, as something to fear. Reiko, worn and nearly broken, pleaded for his life with his cold gray eyes; but Veruco wasn't about to be mericful with him, and with the next blow, took the stone-faced warrior's life. This left a sly grin on his face and he turned to face a horrified Goku and somewhat shocked Vegeta. He wasn't feeling guilty for it, only displeased he didn't do it earlier.
Yet his victory would prove to be short lived; Veruco never saw...or never knew...as a new blast, from out of nowhere, struck his insides, and rendered him practically paralyzed. It was a red colored arrow, made from pure ki energy that caused his imobile state, and now it seemed to be draining him of his very energy as well sending waves of pain coursing throughout his body.
He was able to maintain control over his head and turned to seek out his attacker. To his amazement he recognized who it was...as he was faced with a similar cold onyx black stare.
What would seem like delicate feminine hands if he didn't know any better, reached down and took his throat into a vice-like grasp, and a soft yet sultry voice reached his ears. "You're a sneaky one aren't you Veruco? Thought you could hide from the rest of the world just because you werent popular back home huh? Weakling...Reiko was nothing compared to me! Thanks for leading me to your little friends here...I do appreciate it...but unfortunately you're still not worthy to live...at least by my standards anyway."
He scowled at her, not able to tear his gaze from her. She was exotically beautiful...even for a saiyan woman, with ruby red hair that fell softly below her shoulders and a body that would put most modeling companies out of business. In every way perfect...well not every way. The fiery woman laughed in his face seeing his faults. "Well well, it seems you're still the same pathetic excuse for a saiyan male I knew long ago. Weakling...you're not worth this." she scowled right back at him, her free arm raised to him now wielding fiery red ki.
Rai-en had picked up on their location and proceeded to search for any sign of them she could see. She descended to the ground immediately upon spotting her father's brother and his friend, and ran right up to them. "Where's my father?! What's going on?" Her questionwas soon answered as she caught sight of him in the midst of the fight.
Unfortunately she arrived a bit too late, made clear as she witnessed her father's attacker take him from her right then. She wached in horror as the assailing female took one glance in her direction, wearing a cruel smile, then back to her father as she finished him off with a fatal blow to his chest causing an explosion of burning fiery red ki, and no sound escaped his throat as he dropped to his knees but not before catching a glimpse of the last person he wanted to see there . . . his only daughter, Rai. She arrived in time only to see him killed before her eyes, watching as he fell lifeless to the ground.
Almost as though time itself had stopped she was frozen, in her thoughts...a surge of emotion coursing through her at the moment. She felt, devestated above all, over having lost the only family she had left. She couldn't hold back her emotions now, as the ghostly silence was disturbed as she screamed out in horror. "NOO! Otousan...OTOUSAN?!"
Just as she was about to sprint off towards the attacker, Vegeta grabbed her arm and held her back. "No! Stay back . . . I dont want you involved! You'll only end up like your father now stay put!"
He kept a tight grip on her arm she she struggled to break free. Something they didn't expect or happen to notice was how much her rage was building inside her now. She couldn't stay back and let that woman get away with what she had done . . . she took her father away from him just like that as if it was nothing. She wouldn't stand for it, she had to do something about it. She struggled in the prince's strong grip. "Lemme go! Let me go..." she was practically in tears by now, feeling her throat tighten and her eyes filled with the long held back tears, "Sh-she killed him! Don't you understand . . . he was all I had left . . . AND SHE KILLED HIM . . ."
Her emotions mixed with her building rage and only fueled her motives to help that, much more until finally her rage hit its peak and... Using every ounce of strength she had now she tried again to break Vegeta's might grip on her arm, successfuly slipping away from him finally, until . . . "Damn you! Let me GO!" With a flash of golden light an amazing aura swirled up around her ki nearly exploded and her once long brown locks stood out in spikes of yellow gold and her eyes flashed a darker teal green than normal, as she finally broke free of the older saiyan's hold on her and rocketed off towards her father's killer.
Vegeta stumbled backwards a bit, taken completely off gaurd by her sudden burst of power. He shifted his gaze from the girl to Goku who wore a similar disoriented expression on his face. She just turned super saiyan right before them and had actually gone after that woman. The two could only watch on in what seemed to be amazement as Rai insisted to finish the fight. The young super saiyan stopped right before her enemy, locking her in a stare down for a few minutes before one of them spoke. It was Rai-en...who, oddly enough sounded so much different than normal, more cold and less like the typical teen she seemed to be. "I don't know who you are, and frankly I could care less...all I want is to set things straight!" She said just as she launched at the woman with a blinding speed only achieved by few, and that came with time and effort but she displayed a skill like she had been born at this level. The opposing warrior had no idea as to what hit her, as Rai-en connected with a fierce strike sending her back a few feet.
She straightened herself out quickly enough to dodge another attack directed toward her, and shove the young saiyan back away from her only making her much more determined. "Damnitt Kid...what has gotten into you?! There's no way you're an ordinary saiyan brat! Thats for sure. "
Rai-en did not care for making conversation right then, as she phazed out of view, causing her opponent to put up her gaurd, right before she re-appeared behind her and attempted another assault only to be blocked and turned on her. The scarlet haired fighter caught the oncoming fist, blocking it but to her amazement she hadn't been able to react quick enough as the girl brought her knee up to meet with her jaw, then just as easily connected with a forceful to kick to her mid-section. This was enough to knock her back a few feet, and leaving her open for more.
She couldn't believe she was having such difficulty with this kid, it should have been just as easy as killing the wekling father but she was barely even able to block.
Her thoughts were put on hold as she could feel the girl's piercing green gaze upon her, waiting for her to make a move. Well if this is the best she could do against the kid then it was obvious that she had not been prepared enough. Making a decision, she got up, brushed herself off and scowled. "Fine. I didn't want to take the fight this far but you're not giving me any choice." She began what looked to be an attack of sorts, by gathering a great deal of ki energy and brought it to the surface forming two good sized orbs of fiery red ki, one in each hand while her arms remained by her sides.
Rai-en watched in curiousity as she prepared her attack, she had to ask what she was planning. "What the hell are you doing? A long range attack isn't gonna fill the gap between us of thats what you're thinking. In fact its the worst possible choice you can make right now."
The woman snickered and kept at what she was doing, once she felt they were of good size she paused. "That's what you think brat! Not that it's important but if I had to give this a name it would likely be "Rain of fire" you'll see why." She said as she noticed the doubting expression on her face. Without another word she hurled the orbs of ki into the air. The balls of energy soared high into the sky until, in an explosion of crimson they collided with one another, shattering into numerous small burning strings of ki raining down directed towards Rai.
The young fighter stood there for a moment staring up at the fiery rain of energy coming at her, before she realized what was going on and jumped away quickly blocking as best as she could. She wasn't able to escape the attack completely but enough so it didn't inflict as much damage had she just stood there. She had no time to block this next assault, as her opponent phased out of view then made her appearence behind her and immediately grabbed hold of the girl by the neck holding her up above the ground. She stared up at the struggling teen, her onyx gaze burning a lasting memory in her mind, one she would never forget. As Rai-en attempted to free herself her determination was growing as was her immense power, rising with each effort to escape her opponent's tight grasp and then suddenly it seemed she had control. She pushed every ounce of her remaining energy, what was left of her power, to the surface as it exploded in a burst if ki, causing her hair to stand out more, the golden aura accompanied by cracks of blue lightening.
This left the two men on the sidelines shocked. "No way! That's level two!" Goku pointed out in disbelief, she had so easily pushed herself to the next level with hardly an effort at all. Not even he had been able to do that at first...or was there more to that girl then she let on. After all her father hadn't explained much about her, save the fact she was supposedly just as powerful as he and Vegeta. He turned to his saiyan counterpart, to see he wasn't too surprised by this, more like a cross between confusion and envy.
Rai-en went on as though nothing were amazing about it, using her new found strength to free herself, taking hold of the arm that kept a firm grip on her and removing it from her. She held tightly and literally tossed the other fighter over her shoulder, with some effort of course. The opposing warrior caught herself in mid air and the two turned and faced each other before rocketing off towards the other, nearly crashing head on but only stopped just in time to get caught up in one another, beginning a vicious assualt exchanging blow for blow.
