Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Unexplainables Explained ❯ Epilogue ( Chapter 8 )
Bulma sighed and looked over at Vegeta, who it seemed would neither look nor speak to her. She sat on the ramp to ship, watching him as he watched the aliens in the port. Most of them were leaving, the dramatic end of the competition signaling they should find entertainment and rest elsewhere.
She rested her chin on her hand. “Vegeta…you have to come with us….”
There was an audible growl, but the newly-returned Saiyajin did not turn.
“Well, are we ready to go?”
Bulma glanced over her shoulder and gave a half-smile to Goku. “I don’t know—” She was cut off as Vegeta suddenly strode on the ramp and into the ship, not looking or responding to anyone.
Bulma and Goku shared a glance and Bulma shrugged at Goku before she too rose and entered the ship. Goku gave the place around them one last look before following her. He would be more than happy to get home. ' ' '
He heard the knock on the door, but he did not acknowledge it. As he’d known she would, Bulma opened the door and peeked in. “Vegeta?”
He lay on the bed inside, arms folded behind his head, staring up at the ceiling. He did not acknowledge her, although his tail draped at his side flicked a little.
Bulma entered the room fully, closing the door behind her and pressing her back to it. “Vegeta…. I couldn’t…. I’m sorry, I know you’re mad at me, but I just…couldn’t sit and watch you kill yourself.” She stilled and waited, but Vegeta did not move.
Sighing, she turned around, opening the door and moving out of the room.
Vegeta’s words halted her. “I didn’t want you to watch.”
She turned back around, closing the door, but remained silent.
“Come here….”
She obeyed, moving closing and stopping only when she stood next to the bed. He turned his head then, staring up at her face, his own impassive. He didn’t say anything more, just stretched the arm closest to her toward her.
His fingers brushed against her arm, and then gripped it lightly, tugging.
She raised both eyebrows in question but still not speak, as silent as he was. The tug became insistent and she nodded, crawling onto the bed.
She felt him shift over and the arm move to encircle her shoulders, laying her down beside him so that she partly rested on him. She gave a small sigh and curled up comfortably beside him.
He turned his head back to the ceiling and closed his eyes.
Bulma glanced up at him, worry crossing her expression before she laid her head back down on his chest. She closed her eyes as well as the ship continued on its course to Earth. ' ' '

A/N: Yes, yes. I too thought this would be the last part. Well I was wrong. I realized this after several months of worrying because I couldn’t close everything up. As you can see, there are not only still issues with Vegeta, but…what’s that last bit about?
It’s because me and my boyfriend went to see the movie 12 in theaters that I was able to end this story. Cooler saying that he would be purged of all faults made me realize that giving him the virus would destroy him. Virii are strange little critters and quite nasty…and this virus, if you remember, was both a computer virus and a biological one. ^_^
I hope you enjoyed this story. Look for Unexplainable Choices! Coming soon! I do promise it is the last story. ^_^
