Chapter Two: An Attempt Worth While
~
Bulma gathered her money from her wallet, sliding them into her jeans pocket. She would go and buy some groceries. The last thing she needed was Vegeta angry and hungry.
Bulma walked slowly, cautiously, to the bedroom where Vegeta laid. She had to always tell Vegeta where she was going now, or he would think she was trying to escape and then he would 'punish' her. Punish her by beating her and then making her watch him beat Trunks and threaten that Bra was next.
Opening the door, slowly, Bulma walked in, slowly.
"V-Vegeta? I'm going to buy some food, okay?"
"To buy milk?"
"Yes,"
"Okay, whatever, dismissed."
Bulma nodded and ran out of the cursed room. Outside she slowly walked to her car. Finally she got in and drove the grocery store.
Finally Bulma reached the store and grabbed a cart, and started walking to the first isle. Getting some ice-cream for Trunks, Bulma went to the second isle.
Looking at the cleaning material, Bulma thought carefully which one she would buy. She needed one that was good, so it would last a bit longer before Vegeta destroyed it.
"Bulma?" An inquiring voice, interrupted Bulma's thoughts.
Bulma turned around to face Goku and his wife.
"Oh, Goku, Chi-Chi..hi."
"Hey Bulma! Haven't seen you in a while!" Goku greeted happily.
"Well, that's nice. Umm, I have to get going." Bulma smiled a fake one and walked away from the bewildered couple.
*^*
"Something's wrong, Goku." Chi-Chi started after Bulma started walking away.
"What makes you think that?" Goku asked as he took an apple from the cart and bit into it.
"Hey! We didn't even pay for that yet!"
"Sorry!" Goku backed up. Chi-chi shook her head and looked at Bulma's retreating form.
"I don't know. It's just that she doesn't seem...well Bulma."
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Probably has to do with the Prince of Arrogance."
"Who? Vegeta?"
"Who else?"
"So...What should we do?"
"Why don't you go to her and ask her what's wrong, hmm?"
"O.o, okay Chi-Chi"
*^*
Bulma held back the tears threatening to fall.
"Gosh! Not seeing them for a long time has---damn!"
Bulma walked limply, pushing the cart, years falling.
"Bulma? Why are you crying?"
Bulma turned around, eyes wide, frightened.
'Oh no! If Goku suspects anything---"
Bulma started wiping the tears away from her face, "Why do you think that, Goku?"
"Tears are coming down. Bulma, C'mon tell me what's going on?"
"Huh?"
"I mean you haven't called in several months, you don't seem like that happy joyous Bulma I knew since I was a kid. Even Chi-Chi noticed a difference in you."
"Oh, I'm just a little tired, you know?"
Goku narrowed his eyes, as if he was trying to see something that was too small for his vision to see.
"Is--Is--Is that a bruise, Bulma?"
"Where?"
Goku walked to Bulma and pointed right below her eye.
"Oh, see I slipped---"
"Bulma does Vegeta hit you?"
Bulma looked at Goku, shocked, surprised.
"What make you think that?" Bulma stuttered.
"The way the bruise is formed in a way. I don't know. Just something triggers that it's a bruise created by fist to flesh."
"Well, um.."
"Bulma, does Vegeta hit you?"
"Umm.."
"Bulma" Goku asked firmly.
"Well, not hard.."
"NOT HARD! Bulma! He HITS you! The man is a thousand times no even more stronger than you and he beats you!"
"Well Goku--"
"I'm going to have to talk to him."
"N-n-no!! Goku don't! He'll hurt me and Trunks even more!" Bulma spurted out.
"He also hits Trunks?!"
"Yes." Bulma finally admitted.
"Damn! What the hell is wrong with him?"
"I don't know."
"Bulma, I'm going to reason with Vegeta."
"No! Goku!"
Before Bulma could protest any longer, Goku already turned around; walking to talk to Vegeta.
Bulma look at the floor. This time she felt fear, a raw fear she had never felt before. If Goku talked to Vegeta...she and Trunks would surely die by Vegeta's hands.
But if Goku was able to reason with Vegeta, that would be worthwhile.
'An Attempt Worthwhile..' Bulma thought. Forgetting the cart Bulma ran the direction where Goku headed.

Another chapter completed. I haven't checked my reviews. Probably flames. This fic is almost done. I hope you enjoyed it. ^_^. Also I know it was a bit unreal how Goku knew Bulma had a bruise and it came from a fist. I know that. Let's just Sayjain instict? ^_^()
